Jarrel Strong: My past few visits were very uncomfortable. When I walked in, none of the Apple employees greeted me or acknowledged me. Instead they tried to look extremely busy so that I wouldn’t make eye contact with them. Only one person I was able to make eye contact with was of course the security officer. Once I passed him to walk towards the back of the store, the security officer turns around and start staring at me as I wait for an Apple support specialist acknowledge me. I was standing there for about 20 minutes or so without any help. As a black man and especially as an Apple consumer for over 12+ years, I am always feeling uncomfortable and always feel as if I’m being judged as someone who is up to no good. To continue about my July 10, 2023 experience, I was there standing next to the pick up counter to pickup my MacBook Pro and another security guard moved around the counter to be paralleled to where I was standing so he can watch me. I was the only black person in the store at the time. As mentioned above, so after twenty minutes or so, a worker approached me and asked if I was being helped. And while he was talking to me he never made eye contact and barely looked at me once. This is the culture at Apple Store especially for Black shoppers. It is also important to include, that while I was standing there as if I were invisible other Apple employees stormed out the back to assist White customers who had just walked in. The employees treated me so unfair.
Tom Barnwell: Would give less than 1 star if possible. Most inflexible ppl from floor associates to supervisors. Despite having appropriate confirmation to pick up new computer was turned away twice as they laid blame on Apple’s online systems. Completely a total waste of time!
Demaris Anderson: My SE Apple Watch was less than 3months old and got stuck in a reboot loop and then would not turn on. It continued to only show the apple logo after charging . After talking with apple support they said to send my watch in for hardware repairs as I was still in my warranty period. Today I was told apple will not honor the hardware warranty on my watch due to the screen scuffs. The advisor I spoke to openly said the hardware issues were unrelated to the screen but apple will still not repair the hardware. The only option to get the watch working is to pay $200 to also have a new screen. Why would apple encourage me to send my watch to be repaired without asking if the screen was in perfect condition if this is protocol? I am so disappointed with the product and service. Apple warranties are fraudulent scams.

P M: Service seems really hit and miss per the reviews I read and my recent experience with battery replacement. I found that a few frustrations can be alleviated ahead of time, though, if you schedule an appointment online and follow all the pre-servicing directions provided beforehand (i.e., backup your phone, turn off the Find My service, and ensure that you know your Apple ID and password). Also, make sure to bring a photo ID for verification.The in-store service culture is, by design, confusing as it lacks a well-defined process for customer intake. For example, when you enter the store, you may notice that there is no clear area for Servicing/Appointments. You may also notice 10 Apple employees on the floor; some of which are engaging only with themselves. If you are lucky, one of the available employees will notice you and approach to help. If you are not as lucky, I suggest walking directly up and engaging instead.In my recent experience, the salesperson noticed me when I walked in and engaged me immediately. During check-in, they had a positive attitude throughout; even providing a touch of illumination via the expression, “Purr”. Because I had completed all the pre-requisites, the process was seamless. When done, they directed me to the back of the store to sit in a makeshift herding area full of backless seats. Ten (10) minutes later, a second employee approached me and initiated a diagnostics program on my phone. Immediately after it was done, a third employee approached me and reviewed the servicing contract.All-in-all, the check-in process took ~25 minutes. My phone battery was replaced in the time estimated (1 hour).

Matthew Curasco: On Friday June 2nd, I visited the store to purchase a simple USB cord. I found the product in a poorly stocked section. When I went to customer service to checkout, I was checked out by a customer service associate whos name I believe was Shane? The associate was young and had a cloth mask on. He did not greet me and he talked so low that I could not hear him at all. He said very few words, never asked for my phone number for my account, and was so inaudible that I could not hear a word he was saying. It was a horrible customer experience and as a regular Best Buy customer, I was very turned away from making purchases there again. If an associated is going to be working in a customer facing role, they should be friendly, greet every customer, and most importantly BE AUDIBLE. Best Buy and the Garner store should correct this associates issues immediately.
Dora Zaharias: The Geek Squad team on 06/07/2023 at 1:20PM are incompetent and rude. Many things I could say, but I’ll save most of it. Pricing policy is outrageous. Don’t bother making an appointment because they don’t understand how a clock works. If you’re going to be late, at least be pleasant. Would NEVER give this Geek Squad team my business and will also never step foot back into the Best Buy. Whatever happened to geek being chic? Thanks for nothing :)

I drove from Knightdale to this one, it really is the best in the area. Staff is very helpful and honest, with great opinions and recommendations. I’ve found that in addition to the invaluable insight, they have genuine interest in what I’m building or designing.They’ve also helped to correct issues from other stores, whether it be issues with pickups or orders, or other stores not honoring policies (return, protection plans, etc).
