4worldlovers: The Wilmington Boys Choir is now in its eighth year under music director, Ronnie Wise. The choir strives to instill principles of integrity, character, achievement and a strong work ethic. No religious affiliation is required to become a member, and all members are from age 7 through voice change.

The choir meets every Tuesday night at 6 p.m. for practice, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Performances include about 10 concerts and services per year. We have performed at Westminster Abbey, Biltmore House and Duke University Chapel.

Prior to his time as music director for the Wilmington Boys Choir and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mr. Wise served as director of worship and the arts and principal organist at Boone United Methodist Church in Boone. He studied at Appalachian State University in Boone, Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, and the Juilliard School in NYC.

Ms. Charles has been a music specialist at New Hanover County Schools and director of music at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church since 2002. She performs regionally with Schola Cantorum of the Diocese of East Carolina. She is in her 29th year in music education.

4worldlovers: For more than half a century, the Hannah Block Historic USO Building has facilitated the coming together of generations, providing children with programs that challenge them creatively, and enhance the quality of life for residents throughout the region.


Located in the Hannah Block Historic USO at 120 South Second Street in historic downtown Wilmington, NC, our multi-use facility features five studios (including dance studios) that are available to nonprofit organizations for rehearsals of plays, musicals and recitals.

The studios are also used for classes in a variety of artistic disciplines. The building is home to the Orange Street Potters and the Hannah Block Second Street Stage, an auditorium with a stage and technical loft used for rehearsals and performances. The facility includes a kitchen and may also be rented for corporate and private functions.

The HBHUSO/CAC is owned by the City of Wilmington and managed by the Thalian Association Community Theatre. The City Council appoints a seven person volunteer Advisory Board to oversee the building activities and make recommendations to the management and the City of Wilmington.

Patrons of the HBHUSO/Community Arts Center can park in the surface lot conveniently located next to the building.

Ms. Burns is a choral expert with over 20 years performing before the President of the United States, the Vice-President, high-ranking officials and millions of listeners. She has performed as a soloist in 25 states. Angela has a vocal performance and pedagogy degree from East Carolina University where she studied with Mezzo Soprano, Donna Dease. She has continued to study voice and conducting throughout the US for the past 20 years to maintain her vocal prowess. Her musical expertise consists of choral, church, operatic and musical theatre repertoire. From 1994-2016, Angela was an ensemble member, soloist, conductor, and manager of the official chorus of the Air Force, The United States Air Force Singing Sergeants in Washington, DC. From 1998-2014 Angela soloed and conducted choirs at the Southern and National American Choral Directors Conventions to include the National Conventions in New York and Utah. In 2007, she began her Director of Music Ministries at a large metropolitan church in the DC area and has continued to coach and direct over 200 musicians to date.
