TS Alston-Grant: The brisket and pulled pork my husband got was ok but I ordered a brisket sandwich and it would've been good if it wasn't so much fat, almost the entire sandwich. I ordered Mac and cheese with brisket in it and collard greens and they left those out of my bag. My husband went back to pick those up inside only to get back to the car and it was plain mac, just forget it. and the peach cobbler was not like grandma used to make. Too much cinnamon for my taste...kind of disappointing

Amanda Sabbe: Myself, my husband and 1 and a half year old son went to eat at this location several months ago. My husband and I were nauseous after eating. Later that night, my son ended up getting food poisoning and threw up all night. I called the location to let then know what happened. I felt like I wasn't taken seriously at all. The timing of it and my gut intuition tells me we got sick from the food they served us. After speaking with some one, they told me they'd call me back and make it right. No one ever did that. The overall quality at this location is not like the others. We have been to other locations and this one just isn't up to par and the way they handled the food poisoning wasn't professional. I'm super disappointed and definitely won't go back to this location.

Cyndi Raper: Here it is, the weekend before the 4th of July and you would think that a restaurant that is voted number one in North Carolina for its barbecue would have planned better when they were ordering meat. I'm always interested in only the brisket at barbecue joints and they have run out at Big Mike's. Additionally, their menu lists the Big Mike's platter as having cornbread on it and cornbread is also listed as a side item , but they don't sell it anymore, but who would bother to remove it from the menu so you don't confuse your customers. I certainly can't rate their food since I don't get to eat it today. Very disappointed new customer who can't believe you didn't plan better for the 4th of July food rush!
Claire: We decided to give this place a try as the reviews looked like it had to be a must try for bbq. We ordered pickup and we were sadly very disappointed. Here’s the rundown on what we ordered:Brisket- super dry and not tender, couldn’t even rip it apart, almost seemed like bad quality meat perhaps?Chopped bbq- seemed fine, dry but was tender so it was okay, nothing super special.Ribs- dry, again like the brisket, and we couldn’t even get the meat off the bone, our dog even gave up, and that is very telling on how tough the meat was. Couldn’t even chew it.Mac and cheese- boring. Needed salt.Potato salad - huge disappointment, it’s literally just potatoes in the Mac and cheese sauce, flavorless, mushy, we each had a bite and we were done with it.Beans- okay, super sweet, but just okay. Didn’t seem homemade.Brussels- worst texture, seemed canned, flavor was okay, but.. the mushy part we couldn’t get over.Sweet potatoes- only good part, waffle fries, so easy to like.Sauces- they were okay. Nothing super amazing.Wish we could try the cornbread that was supposed to come with our meals but it was sadly left out. So we don’t have a review for that.All in all, disappointed. I’m just shocked bc the reviews looked so good.

Tova Arnold: I ordered the two meat plate pulled pork and catfish for lunch with blackberry cobbler, I paid extra for the catfish. the pulled pork was on the dry side, lacking in flavor and seasoning. the catfish was perfectly cook but no seasoning at all, side of collard greens not one fleck of red pepper flakes the lack of seasoning in collareds is just disappointing, the slaw was okay and so was the Bbq sauce without it that pulled pork was DOA. The blackberry cobbler was sweet enough but the biscuit was too thick no crumble of sugary goodness on top over all this meal was a huge disappointment for $30 bucks won't be returning. Cute little placed tucked away service was friendly.

Nevin Williams: I met Danny a long time ago as we paired up to golf. What a super nice guy!After meeting Danny I had to eat here.I'm reviewing the food and atmosphere. I've eaten here a few times. The brisket has always been dry. In my opinion the other food is average/bbq above average.l wonder if the 5 star reviewers either know someone who works here, likes dry brisket or never visited a competing local BBQ joint a couple of miles from here?Just being honest about my experience. Parking is odd the first time you visit because it definitely is obscure and the hickory smoke smell will hit you as soon as you park, it will draw you in and make you hungry.I wish I could give Danny's BBQ 5 stars but I don't think it is justified.

Tammy Quinn: Decided to try this place at the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the brisket plate with greenbeans and potato salad. The brisket was so overcooked. It was dry and tasteless. The greenbeans had a good flavor but had so many strings on them, it was not edible. The potato salad was just a run of the mill store bought, pre packaged potato salad. Maybe this was an off day for them but I would not go back.

Jennifer Valle: The food was great. The restaurant it's self was very loud and busy so it hindered getting your food in a timely manner. The waiter did a fantastic job with the circumstances he was given, but I feel they assigned too many tables to one waiter. That's not a bad thing in a restaurant that you cook our own food in but when you are given a time limit to your table it's starts to become an issue. There were 6 of us and though nothing was said I think we almost hit our limit since we waited for sides, drinks and sauces a lot longer than we had hoped. Over all still a great experience.
Laurie Allen: Meat and corn cheese was delicious but the sides were very lacking. For vegetables to cook you’re given a slice of dried out sweet potato, mushrooms, and tofu. Would have been really nice to get broccoli, carrots, or more veggie options in general.Staff was incredibly friendly, all greeted us and stayed on top of the service. However I really expected a higher end atmosphere for the $100+ we paid for 2 of us (just 2 meals, no drinks, apps, etc.) My booth was broken and there was no mood lighting or music. The place felt a bit cheap for the high price tag.Really wanted to like this place and I love the concept but probably won’t be coming back here.

Jessica Richardson: What a cool find this was! Went here with my mom on our way to another restaurant for lunch when we spotted this and decided to check it out. This was my first time sitting at a Korean bbq table and as a newbie I could not have asked for a better first experience. Our server, Ethan, was fantastic, informative and so very patient with us the entire time. The rest of the staff were equally attentive and helpful. The food was very delicious with me now being a huge fan of the beansprouts side dish and their fermented soybean sauce which just popped the flavors of the grilled meats! A wonderfully fun experience for all, highly recommend :)

Manisit: The portions are generous. You would have a wonderful problem of running out of space for food on your table. The BBQ combos are decent for a table of 4 although they say serves 2-3. With an appetizer of kimchi pancake and BBQ combo we had enough to eat. Makgeolis and Soju are your to go comfort alcohols with all the meat. The staff is quite friendly and kind, and there is ample parking around.
Xiang Cui: Pretty disappointed experience. We tried this Honey Pig because we had good experience in the DC area. Was quite excited when we saw it opened a new one in Cary. It turned out to be the opposite of our expectation. We came in at 12:30pm for a Saturday lunch. Only two tables had customers. But it took a good 30 minutes until they serve any appetizer or those side dishes to us. The server told us there was only one cook to prepare everyone’s appetizer. But how about serving some side dish first so the customers are not left hungry? Then when the full plate of meat came, there was not much of an explanation of which meat is what and how long we should grill, let alone grill it for us. Definitely a big gap of service quality comparing to their DC franchise. At the end, some of our family members lost the appetite because the meat was too dry. We ended up having to take half meat home. The tips were automatically charged because we had a party of 5. If had a choice, we would leave much less than that. Won’t come back again. There are better Korean BBQ in the area.

kim seungil: came here with my friends, anf first of all, the atmosphere is clean and very cozy. perfect place to drink some soju~also server was pleasant and sweet.we had a premium beef combo for party of 4, and it was more than enough for the four of us. the brisket and ribeye was one of my favorites, and my other friends enjoyed the bulgogi and marinated prime rib.the sweet corn, bean paste soup, and steam egg was extremely tasty with a lot of flavor. some other kbbq places that i have been to, their flavors lacked a bit, but it was perfect here. i think if you are new to kbbq, this would be a great place to start, since you can order the combos or al la carte by your choice.i will definitely be back with my family next time!

Both times the burger tasted like an over peppered McDonald's patty that's leaking grease everywhere. Fries are regular and plain. Left my stomach churning and eventually got sick. Felt so much better when it was gone.Service was okay, the staff seemed nice for the most part but all I did was order from the counter and pick up my food when it was called out.Atmosphere is weird and dark. It's an old western themed saloon type place? But there were flies buzzing around quite a bit when I went, which felt really at odds with the wide open burger topping bar in the middle of the establishment.
Rob Pond: We have been patronizing this establishment for years and have always enjoyed the food. However they are now Charging a 4% up charge on the use of the credit cards, and no fee if you use cash. What bothers me is that at the door it says a 4% discount if you use cash, but it not really a discount for using cash it's a 4% up charge for credit card use. We have decided that we will no longer Patronize this business. That credit charge that they receive for using credit cards is their cost for doing business. I don't know of anyone in the restaurant business that is charging for the use of your credit cards! Very upset about this!

Went in with about 20 minutes left until closing. 3 employees very obviously ignored us as in we don’t want to serve you. Finally one of them came to the register and I ordered a chicken sandwich and he told me they couldn’t fix any chicken sandwiches. We left and quite honestly I don’t know that I will ever go back. People don’t want to work and they don’t have any regards to friendly service. When I worked in food service we served until our close time. Now they want to be done and walk out the door at closing time. Poor, poor service.

Cheese Slap: WOW! This pulled pork was hands-down, the best Eastern Style Q I've ever eaten! Just the right smoke, just the right vinegar, just the right moisture. Absolutely amazing! The slaw was a perfect accompaniment--not too mayo-y, not too sweet, and not too finely chopped. And the hush puppies were great too! So glad we stopped in on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Came here based on reviews and the building / cars in the parking lot. With a building like that and a full parking lot, you know it’s gonna be good. I took a seat, got called honey and darlin’ a few times and knew I made the right choice. I had the ribs and pulled pork with Brunswick Stew and boiled cabbage (recommended by the awesome staff). All was delicious and the ribs are probably the best non-sauced ribs I’ve ever had. Tender, wet, smoked to perfection - delicious! They made me feel like a regular. If I’m ever in Raleigh again, I’ll be back

The sandwich combo used to be a great deal, but now there’s a much smaller portion of barbecue on it, and the price seems to constantly increase. It’s still one of the best franchise “fast casual” places around, but not as good as a few years ago. Seems like most places have seen a drop in quality and rise in price post-COVID.
