Maze Burner: I love this place
Marvin Flowers: I pulled up to go inquire about more information but immediately was greeted by a monk who stared me down like I didn’t belong didn’t speak or anything. Definitely not the energy I was expecting... I just left. I just wanted to learn more about Buddhism.

I wasn’t in town for long, but I made it a point to volunteer a couple of times to give to them what I could, as they give so much to their members through compassion, inclusion, and mindfulness.
Rewoti Adhikari: It is really wonderful location for spiritual and peaceful people
Tenzin K Dolma: Great Tibetan Buddhist Center.

Kathy Mock: A wonderful place to learn and practice Buddhism.
Brian Wright: A place to learn about happiness

Buddha Raleigh Temple: what do users think?
Scotty Scott: There will be no monks at this temple since its a family ran business. The owner was ordained build the temple then disrobed while living a lavish lifestyle which the dumb donors are funding. Had to hire another monk to keep their doors open. Surprised the government hasn't stepped in to check on their books
Miki Falls: It's been closed for more than a month! Don't bother going there and wasting your time.
Fern Chira: It's Thai temple which seems to have no monk there. I've been there twice in last week but never seen any people. I only saw cars parked. The door to the hall was locked. However, there is a Buddha statue to pray and prayer in Thai outside the building.
B Aryal: Peaceful
Krisna Gusterer: A warm and welcoming sanctuary. I’ve been visiting here for over 20 years. One of my favorite temples outside of Thailand. Since I don’t live close by, I always call ahead before visiting. Well worth a visit if you are nearby.
Carri Bramlett: Very beautiful very friendly monk was very kind prayed with my mother
All About Living in USA By NIKKI THAI GIRL: Beautiful Thai Temple and I had been there many times and met many friendly Thai people over there! 🙏🏻❤️🇹🇭
Brian Wall: Called ahead today to learn when an English session could be heard. Was told 3 pm. Got there 10 min early. No one welcomed or greeted me. I sat down in an empty chair, watching Thai people go about their routines. A group of 5 to 7 women busied themselves counting, sorting & bundling US cash in the middle of the main temple on the floor at the feet of a robed monk. I felt like a witness to a Buddhist casino wrap up after closing. It was surreal. I continued sitting trying to meditate through all the Thai chit-chat, small children running around in horseplay, & still no one spoke to me. Everyone carried on as if I weren't even visible. After 30 minutes, I rose, bowed & made for the exit to find my shoes outside. One of 2 women who was seated 4 feet away suddenly asked if I was leaving. Shocked to learn I wasn't invisible afterall, I said, "You speak to me now that I'm leaving instead of offering a welcome? That's great!" I turned & walked out for my shoes. Couldn't wait to get away from there. No, I didn't leave an offering; they had so much money to count they could've opened their own bank. They may have a lot of Buddha statues in there, but not an inkling of loving kindness or manners. One star I give out for the beauty of the architecture & decor. Two stars i give for respect for the Buddha. Otherwise I was VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Kunakorn Tang: Very nice place and nice monk, visit every few weeks to get some blessings.

Van-Hanh Pagoda-NC Buddhist: what do users think?
Patayder: my place
Tri Tran: Friendly and tranquil
This was my first time and last. I’ve been to so many wonderful temples and have never had any issues. The head monk “chu trì” is known for his temper and he likes to yell and disrespect visitors.I had came here for a seminar session from 7am-10pm but left half day because he had literally disrespected, yelled at me to “GET OUT!” just because someone had let me in from a “wrong entrance” during lunch time. I was so shocked!

North Carolina Buddhist Temple: what do users think?
Lambodar Ray: Was looking to Visit a Buddhist temple and found this place to know about the place and prayer. It’s located in a small premises and lots of open space around. Seems like closed on Sunday evenings
Mitra Ganewatta: Beautiful temple and wonderful resident monk, Most Venerable Yatiyana Wajirapala Thero. The Buddhist lay community here is very nice too. This is one of the most welcoming places to visit in North Carolina.
Kristina Hailey: I was driving few days and got a glimpse of this beautiful Temple so I decided to stop and check it out.It was Sunday afternoon and they had finished their service. I was invited to go into the temple. It was beautiful and serene. I wish I understood the meaning of all the beautiful statues.I took a walk around the temple outside, to find more beautiful, I guess shrines. I wish I knew what they all meant.I spent about 15’ contemplating and enjoying everything. It seems it takes a lot of time and dedication to maintain the grounds and painting the figures, lions, cows and Buddha’s throughout the temple grounds. There is also what seems to be a would be pond construction in progress. I know it will be beautiful once it gets filled with water. Also being so early in March, the trees have not bloomed yet. I know they will be so beautiful in the spring.I felt so transported to another beautiful and peaceful world for 15’ and not too far from where I live.A kind reminder to take off your shoes before you enter the temple, should you decide to visit in the spring, Summer or fall!
Sam M: They have a Variety of events for people of all faiths. Anyone can attend and experience Peaceful meditation and practical life lessons.
Vaibhav Jadhav: Very Nice Temple. Nice people.
Anuradha Kothalawala: Good
Arjuna Weerasinha: Wonderful place of visit. The only Theravada Buddhist temple in North Carolina.
Vijaya Kumar: Nice place for Meditation.
Ricardo Francis Zayas: I am most grateful to have found the North Carolina Buddhist Temple. Venerable Wajirapala is a most welcoming, compassionate and skilled teacher. The devotees at the temple are most cordial and generous. The Monday night meditation and Sutta Discussion with Mr. Christopher Thurston, a lay practitioner and meditation teacher and Dharma instructor is awesome and has been instrumental in my Dharma practice. This is a wonderful place. Bhante Wajirapala and the devotees are very welcoming to Western practitioners and people who want to learn about the Theravada tradition and about the Buddha’s beautiful Dharma. Beautiful experience!!! 100 stars!!!!
Ayya Sudhamma (Charlotte Buddhist Vihara): The monks are laid back, friendly and knowledgeable. This is a place to gain friends. New location is nice, much more spacious.
Kunakorn Tang: Very nice place to come for a blessing. Very nice monk as well.
Ranga Silva: Not just a Buddhist religious center but a gathering point for Sri Lankans in the area.
Madushan Abeysinghe: Great Buddhist temple. Sri Lankan Swaminwahanse lives there.

Kosala Buddhist Center: what do users think?
Rob Woods: Very peaceful and serene spot ran by good people.
Jean LeCluyse: Calm and peaceful meditation center.
Monica Heiser: Cozy meditation center. The community members are kind and very experienced in meditation and Buddhism. No one is turned away if they can't pay.
Gen Kelsang Tabkay: I attended Kosala Center for 2 years when I was a graduate student at UNC and was so happy to have it as a place of peace and refuge. Kosala is an inclusive community that welcomes people of all backgrounds and faiths and is a real gem for the area. The amazing teachings later inspired me to become a Buddhist monk and teacher. I have known the teachers there for over 10 years and they are such wonderful, inspiring examples of authentic practitioners working to bring inner peace to the community. Nothing but love for this place!
Kelsang Namdrol: I highly recommend this peaceful meditation center. You will definitely feel welcomed by their warm-hearted and kind community. They have a wonderful Resident Teacher and various weekly drop-in classes. I was able to attend a very inspiring and practical Saturday workshop. Thanks Kosala Buddhist Center! ♥️
igor hodochisnkiy: I think there is a growing amount of people in the south that are starving for some teachings that the Kosala Buddhist center offers. Keep doing what you're doing, it is greatly appreciated. And thank you Ethan for the words of wisdom 🙏.
Katherine Williams: Kosala teachers are not ordained, they don't follow the Dalia Lama, and they emphasize payment. Proceed with careful attention to your intuition and with discernment.
Tori Ralston: The Kosala Buddhist Center is a local gem in Carrboro! The teachings offer practical tools on how to have a beautiful and peaceful mind and the meditations offer a sense of spaciousness and love in your heart. You can simply show up for a class and feel embraced by the kindness of the Sangha-experience it for your self.
Ann Gerhardt: I wanted to find a community to help me establish and maintain my meditation practice. I have found this and much more. I have found a teacher well versed in the New Kadampa tradition, a practice that helps people who lead busy, in-the-world lives. It has helped me in so many practical ways to live in ways that help others and myself. It's also very fun and has a sense of humor!!
Ethan Lechner: I've been attending classes at Kosala Center for a few years, and have found it has helped me to develop a more positive attitude, and become more accepting of myself and others.
David Perrin: I looked into many other Buddhist traditions and teachers over the years before I found the New Kadampa Tradition. I have been a part of several centers and have always found wonderful and sincere practioners and teachers there. Now that I am living in Chapel Hill, Kosala has been no exception to my experience.
David Rademacher: I have found the Kosala Buddhist center an inspiration. It is an open and welcoming place, where well referenced and authentic Buddhist teachings are made available to all. Thank you.
