Sanjay Singareddy: I had been visiting the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Cary almost every week for past 9+ years.3 years ago I gave the temple a 5 star rating, today I changed it to a 1 star rating. For the past 1 year my temple visits have become more and more unpleasant for the following reasons:1. There is no Serene atmosphere any more as groups of people keep singing bhajans and songs with total disregard to other devotees’ privacy and space. I go to temple to pray in quietude. Silence in temple would greatly help.2. Far too many events and activities are going on in the temple which gives a feeling that you are in a fair (Santa in Telugu and Mela in Hindi). It also had made it hard to find a proper parking spot as most of the additional parking area is located on grass and dirt with a dirt road leading to those areas, devotees use the same road to walk to temple after they park their vehicles. This is causing chaos as vehicles and pedestrians are sharing the same road.3. Failing management and rude staff. During the temple hours it is unacceptable that Sri Venkateshwara Swamy darshan times are limited. When you are in line for darshan and reach the inner sanctuary in front of the Swamy and about to pray and do namaskar, in a couple of seconds you will hear loud voices continuously saying “ Keep moving”, “Keep moving”. This can test your patience and and test your control over your feeling of anger when some volunteer is yelling for you to move even though you are moving quickly, I go to temple to pray, and not come out from there with an angry mood.All of the above will not prevent me from going to the temple, I will find a time either early or late in the day when it is less chaotic.This temple was built from donations by devotees and every devotee has the right to question the way things are run by the temple management.

Chuck: The outside of the temple is rundown a bit. I believe it's an old Masonic lodge or Knights of Columbus building. I think I scared the 2 Vaishnavaite Pandits that were there. Their site said they opened at 8am, and I arrived around 8:45. I don't think they're used to big tattooed white guys at their temple, I get it, it makes sense. They may have been in the middle of puja as well. I need to go back again at a better time.

Abhijit Nuria Ghosh: We were very lucky to have the mandir host our wedding. It was an auspicious intimate setting for guests, family, and us leaving all of us with a divine feeling. Our wedding ceremony was performed in the afternoon in main temple hall. The staff extended every hospitality needed to make our day truly special. And we felt highly blessed that immediately after our ceremony was over we got to offer Aarti to God and more so hold the Aarti Thali when the curtains are raised and the temple reopens for Darshan at 4pm.Thank you Niraj bhai (volunteer at the temple) for accommodating all our requests and making our day so memorable.Jay Shree Swaminarayan 🙏🙏

Niraj Joshi: Beautiful, serene setting for a place of worship that is close to residential and shopping areas. This Hindu temple is near the heart of Cary and close to Raleigh and Morrisville. A nice stream flowing in the backyard gives a natural connection. There is adequate parking.

John L: I am a Gentile who is a member of a Messianic Jewish Synagogue in Columbus OH. When we visited Raleigh we truly enjoyed the fellowship and biblical teaching at this wonderful Synagogue. I encourage you to visit at least 3 times before making a decision. It takes time to learn the flow, to sing along in Hebrew (transliteration is provide) and too understand the Messianic Jewish form of worship and why they do it this way. You will love the people!!!

Mitra Ganewatta: Beautiful temple and wonderful resident monk, Most Venerable Yatiyana Wajirapala Thero. The Buddhist lay community here is very nice too. This is one of the most welcoming places to visit in North Carolina.
Kristina Hailey: I was driving few days and got a glimpse of this beautiful Temple so I decided to stop and check it out.It was Sunday afternoon and they had finished their service. I was invited to go into the temple. It was beautiful and serene. I wish I understood the meaning of all the beautiful statues.I took a walk around the temple outside, to find more beautiful, I guess shrines. I wish I knew what they all meant.I spent about 15’ contemplating and enjoying everything.It seems it takes a lot of time and dedication to maintain the grounds and painting the figures, lions, cows and Buddha’s throughout the temple grounds.There is also what seems to be a would be pond construction in progress. I know it will be beautiful once it gets filled with water. Also being so early in March, the trees have not bloomed yet. I know they will be so beautiful in the spring.I felt so transported to another beautiful and peaceful world for 15’ and not too far from where I live.A kind reminder to take off your shoes before you enter the temple, should you decide to visit in the spring, Summer or fall!

Ricardo Francis Zayas: I am most grateful to have found the North Carolina Buddhist Temple. Venerable Wajirapala is a most welcoming, compassionate and skilled teacher. The devotees at the temple are most cordial and generous. The Monday night meditation and Sutta Discussion with Mr. Christopher Thurston, a lay practitioner and meditation teacher and Dharma instructor is awesome and has been instrumental in my Dharma practice. This is a wonderful place. Bhante Wajirapala and the devotees are very welcoming to Western practitioners and people who want to learn about the Theravada tradition and about the Buddha’s beautiful Dharma. Beautiful experience!!! 100 stars!!!!
Ayya Sudhamma (Charlotte Buddhist Vihara): The monks are laid back, friendly and knowledgeable. This is a place to gain friends. New location is nice, much more spacious.
