Beril Roland Dye was raised along French Creek near Belmont WV and, with only a seventh grade education, he was one of the smartest men I've ever known. Dad taught me to fix things on my own, but do it well. He actually read manuals and took the time to learn how things are meant to work. Thanks Dad!
With a BS in Engineering and a Masters in Business, I spent many successful years in corporate America. Along the way, I also developed a passion for helping people achieve their goal of home ownership. Working with volunteer organizations like Habitat for Humanity and SWAT I learned a great deal about home construction and renovation.
The transition to the inspection industry began with 200 hours of classroom and field training through a nationally recognized school. After completing the comprehensive NCHILB exam in 2016, I spent many more hours in the field further sharpening my skills with some of the best inspectors in the Triangle. Now I'm firmly established in the business and doing something I truly love!

Bruce Scuffham: David Dye of French Creek Inspections was an awesome home inspector to work with! I had David perform my home inspection when I was going through the home buying process for the first time back in 2017 and he made that process a breeze! He took time to explain the process to me and answered all my questions while going through the home. He was very thorough and clearly wasn't trying to "just get the job done" and get out of there as quick as possible. He obviously takes pride in his work and had an inspection report to me oh his findings in a timely manner. I've also called David recently about doing some other work for me a couple times and has been very responsive. He was honest and offered a great deal of insight. My dad builds home in New Mexico, in a very different climate than North Carolina. When he read over the inspection report, he was very nervous about some of the information. We set up a phone conference and David spoke with my dad for over an hour, walking him through everything in the inspection report and filling him in on the way homes are built in North Carolina. After that phone call, we felt very reassured and informed. David reviewed our home with a fine tooth comb and relayed the information in an honest, ethical, and knowledgable manner. After we moved in, we called David on two separate occasions with questions we had about the house. On one of the calls, he even offered to swing by the house to look at something if he couldn't help me over the phone but we solved the issue during the call. The builder had not done a good job with a lot of things last year and Matt made sure that he pointed each and every issue no matter how big or small that was, not only last time but this time too. Things that were not appropriately fixed after highlighting them last year, he pointed them again. I always relied on his opinion when it came to what must be fixed and documented. his report is very thorough so you don't have to worry about anything, he is also very kind to explain things afterwards once the report is available.
