North Carolina State Fairgrounds Campground: what do users think?
roger slone: I would give it a 5 if it were not for the terrible dusty road going in. The location is greatb for visiting the attractions nearby.Noteworthy details: It is not a hotel it is a campground.
Barbara Witham: Basic campground with full hookups.Security on site. Trash pickupFirst Come, first served. No reservations. $35 per night. 2 week limit. Many open sites. We stayed 5 days and found a lot to do in the immediate area. We have bicycles and they were welcomed in the closed fairgrounds so we had fun exploring the grounds. We went to 3 public gardens that were nearby, and today we are sunning and swimming at the local public pool. The cg is quiet. Everyone keeps to themselves and many stay just a night out two. You see all kinds of campers here; new and school bus conversions, and really old junk campers.NO BATH HOUSE, no dog park but plenty of places to walk with your dog.Only minor issues were the sites need mowing and the road in and out is very bumpy. There is a dump station for $10.39' toy hauler, extended cab pick up. Plenty of room. Very flat sites. No hills. Easy in and outNearby activities: 3 free public gardens1 public pool ($6 pp senior rate)Plenty of restaurants nearby with all nationalities of foodYou might catch a horse show at the fairground next door to the campground. There's a gun show this weekend and a Flea Market.Safety: Well lighted, quiet, 24 hr security. Felt very comfortable hereWalkability: You can drive across the street and walk through the fairground.
Jimmy Regan: Awesome
Evelyn Outlaw: Awesome place to set up camp for a few days and tour the city. Beautiful, clean grounds. Full hook-ups for a nominal fee. It's quiet and centrally located to downtown, NC State, and PNC Arena where the Canes play. And you also are right there where all the fairground events are held. Great value for the money!Nearby activities: Close to downtown, NC State, and PNC ArenaWalkability: Able to walk to the fairground events, including the weekend flea markets
Lynne W: What a great find. Full hookups for $35 near everything in Raleigh. There are so few places to park an RV here and this is near perfect. No reservations yet so call to see if there is room. You pick a space and they come collect their money. Will accept charges as well as cash. No frills or amenities but quiet and peaceful.Location: 5/5 …More
Pete Austin: This is a pretty nice campground, even more so as a fairground. See the pictures and video that I added. Far more room than I have seen in other places. Plenty of room for larger rigs. We are 47'. They have 50 and 30amp, water and sewer. No problems getting in - no tight turns or low trees. When we pulled in, we were met by a very lovely security guard who was helpful and friendly.Pro tips:1. Make sure that you are on Youth Center Drive. Otherwise Maps will try to get you to turn off of Trinity. That will likely take you through the fairground itself - a bad choice.2. Do not stop at the guard booth. There is nobody there. You should see a phone number on the booth. Find a spot and call the number, security will come to you to take your money.
Wilbur Kelly: Outstanding!
Leeann Montalbano: Pros:-first come, first serve-lots of spots-easy check in process-great location and easy to get to downtownCons:-potholes leading into the space are not fun-the spots are all roughly the same size. It would have been nice to have some longer ones for bigger rigs.-no picnic tables or seating at the sites-no fire rings-same price as most of the state parks we've stayed in without nearly as many amenities
Debi Hill: It is a perfect place to RV when u want to walk across the street to the PNC arena for hockey games. Cost the same as a parking pass and no traffic to deal with after the game!Location: 5/5 …More
Jennifer “Fer” Grindle: Peaceful friendly and only $38 a night
Harry Mintzer: Great place to stay. 50 amp full hookup
merridith berberian: Quiet but pricey. Nice place. Can only stay 14 days in a 30 day period but you can ask to stay longer (work, medical, etc.)Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Thomas Stout: Staying at RV Park. Quiet and great level parking full hook up and 50 Amp service.Nearby activities: Near N.C. State.Safety: Security patrolWalkability: Safe walking area's
Natalie Acheson: This is an excellent location, nice size sites, full-hookups and easy to maneuver for big rigs. First come first serve during the winter, spring months, plenty of spaces and very well run. For $35/night it's an excellent place to stay!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Evelyn White: Stayed in the RV park, very hard to find. Stayed 2 nights, then had to pay to dump.Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Sher Ellsworth: This is a well kept RV park. The folks there were kind and helpful, and I will return when in the area.
Kenneth Davis: Not a bad campsite. Clean and the prices are resonable. This place gets you in close to town. Full hookups. First come first serve. You pick out your site then call the number listed at the checkin booth to let them know that you are there. They will come around and collect your rent money.
Stacie Peebles: Pricing has gone up to $35 per night. I can understand the price increase, but the roads with these huge potholes need to be corrected. I’ve got no problem paying a higher price. But at least keep the campground passable. We know they have the equipment to do so. We’ve been coming here since campground open. It is a shame to see it in this condition. We loved this campground because it was so convenient. I know you have water, sewer, and power, but there is nothing else, there’s no restrooms, there’s no showers. There’s no anything other than your site. Would love to see this issue corrected by the next time we come.

The Matthews Campground: what do users think?
Kim Ludington: Great campground and working with Lisa is a breeze. They are very helpful and accommodating. It’s a small campground which means it’s very quiet which we appreciated. If you are looking for lots of activity in the park this is not your campground. It is very close to shopping. It is reasonably priced. We will be back.
Colton Bridgeman: The Matthews campground was a very laid back very nice stay! And for the Raleigh area is really reasonable on pricing! They were willing to help out when needed! Perfect for working in the area, not to mention close to a lot of things you might need! We will be trying to stay here as mush as possible passing through! Thanks for the great experience!
Karen Cribb: Absolutely love this place. It's quiet, peaceful, and the owners are incredible to work with.
Fevered: Great location, loved the kindness, and hospitality from the owners their. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a campground in the Raleigh/ Garner area.
Elizabeth Ewing: I wish I could write something about my stay at The Matthew's Campground but I could barely for her time and that I am very flexible on staying there.. in return I got nothing nor anyone to answer my phone calls, text messages or emails. So finally I gave up when I was called back by the daughter in-law and made to feel like she was calling me on her day off and she was really too busy to talk because she was at a a very event and really didn't appreciate a call followed up by text and had to go. When I later got the shock from my face I sent her a text thanking her for her time. I litterly drove across the US pulling my 28ft 5th wheel to unprofessional rudeness with not a tad bit of more unprofessionalism. Thank goodness I found a place and I am happy. Not taking personal and hope you have better results than I did.
Natalie Stewart: Quiet.. clean.. real nice owners.. great place for that home away from home feel.. a lot of trees for that country feel.. we will definitely be back if in the area.. I loved my time there!!
maxx Promotion: Pese full place
bronson bliss: Nice,quiet and shaded
Michelle Harper: Disappointed in the campground not mentioning in their website that they cater to long term campers and won’t reserve a spot for a weekend months away “just in case” they have a 30, 60, or 90 camper instead. Then she suggests I should just get a hotel... 👍🏻
Jon Kirby: sure enough quite down up in there
Tammy Mooney: Owners are very nice! RV lotsare shaded, can not be seen from the road which makes it some what private. Quiet and out in the country yet close to everything. We love it here, hope to return when ever we are in the Raleigh area.
Kelly Callahan: Good people, great location.....
Eric Perry: Campsite is off an unmarked gravel road with 7 full hookups for RVs. Run by Dan and Lisa Matthews from Capital City Customs which is next door, so you have a world class Airstream shop for a neighbor. The site is very quiet but very close to Cary, South Raleigh, Fuquay Varina, Apex, and Garner. Really super location. The road lines up with Denlee St on the opposite side of Lake Wheeler Rd.
t Tanner: Quiet and secluded place. It's only a few mins from Raleigh!

Chatham RV Park: what do users think?
Mark Wibberding: Just another Walmart
Mikey G: Clean facilities and bath house!
Melissa Thomas: Very clean ...accessible store n laundromat on premises ...
Carol Perez: It's a good place to go
Chuck Gordon: Good food.clean.well priced.
Randy King: Great park but the food needs some help other wise not to bad
Lisa Hall: I needed to book for a month and asked if they would reserve me a space. Initially they said that they would not take reservations, but then called me back to say they could accommodate me. I was asked for my credit card as a deposit. A few weeks before my stay I called to see if I could adjust the dates and come in a few days later, as I would be driving across country and those dates weren't going to work. They said that they would have to verify the change with the owner. They then called to say my dates were changed and I was all set this was a month prior to my stay. I had began driving across country and decided to give them another call to confirm my arrival date. He said I was all set but that he needed to check if my month reservation was still available since there was confusion about me staying a week or a month. I get a call two days before my arrival to say they cancelled my reservation and I don't have a spot there! He never called in advance to tell me, he waited until I was already in town. He said he lost a week because I changed the dates even though I gave him at least 1 months notice. I told him that he could have called me and I would have paid the week I missed as it still would come out cheaper then if I had to camp at a state park. So basically he cost me a ton of money and had no empathy for me at all. He was very snotty and short with me. The owner was unprofessional and had a terrible attitude. He turned my plans upside down and I had to spend 1500 on my trip instead of 700 because of him and his short notice
S Parker: Looks like they are just getting things set up.Maybe more stars when closer to completion.
Lee Broadwell: Too damn High
Randy Long: Really good food.
Brandon H: Nice place
zack702: They have a general store and a grill with good food options. Very convenient location.
Jerry Forbes: Great experience so far
Janet Wyatt: The place is really nice and it's clean. The facilities are great I only give the food a 4 everything else is a 5 The food in general is good but I was disappointed in the loaded nachos
Morris Bright: Friendly people and nice restaurant
Kelly N: Great grill and store
Lauren Winston: Thank the good Lord! We have delivery in Moncure - that is REALLY good! Delivery is fast and hot and the food is delicious.
Diamond Buggy: The food was great!!! Very clean!
Alex Lezama: Good food and clean place 👍👍
Vickie Drew: We went to the restaurant and got the park burgers. They were delicious fresh bread, fixed the way I requested it. Staff very friendly and answered our questions! Will be back!
beverly taylor: Food and service is Fantastic!!!

Poplar Point Campground: what do users think?
Luis Caban: Amazing employee and love the area, but the restrooms are old and dirty!
Lin Price: Great camping experience, everything was clean as you can expect from outdoors and I felt safe in the park.
Kevin Blanton: We are traveling full-time from Texas, I inadvertently booked a site in loop G with 30 amp service not knowing that only loops C and F support 50 amp service. After discovering this we went back to the gatehouse and spoke with a young man named Quinton. He looked around to see if they could accommodate us and found a site in loop F but informed me he was not able to make the change. He then called park ranger Stark who proceeded to make the necessary changes and sent is on our way. What a display of courtesy and North Carolina hospitality! Great Job guys!
Tamika Jones: Beautiful, peaceful, quiet, friendly staff.Restrooms: Nice and clean.Dog-friendliness: Seen a few people with dogs.
Mike Wiles: Always a great trip to F-loop.
Ali AlDossary: We love it
pearl G: Great experience! The rangers were very helpful, and the restroom was clean with showers. Even though yesterday was fully booked being a Saturday, I was impressed by how quickly they cleaned the restroom. Loop B had some very nice campsites with a great view of the lake. I recommend 036 to 047. There were also beaches where kids could play in the water. Unfortunately, we didn't bring swimsuits. The night was a bit noisy with frogs croaking and airplanes flying overhead. There was also a group of high schoolers having a party nearby. However, after around 1 am, it became very quiet and I was able to fall asleep.Highly recommend this camp ground and will definitely come back.
DEBBIE JAMIESON: Great campground! Nice beach. Shower did not work in handicap bathroom called the office and they sent someone to fix it immediately!
Carlos Bonilla: It would have been a 5 star review, but two issues caused that star to dissipate. The address or directions from the website and reservation caused for us to get lost for almost one hour. The restrooms at the camping area we were, appeared to be closed indefinitely for maintenance issues. Now, our family and I LOVED THE PLACE!!! We will be back!
Steve Brooks: We have stayed here several times in past years, but this place has become a real joke. We arrived at 2:45 pm and were advised that we could not check in until 3:00pm. Seriously? This was never an issue in the past either at Poplar point, or any other campground. They have found a new way to tick people off. Also, the layout of our site (F12) is not functional. In order to step out on a level spot, we had to back to the end of the sit, right beside the fire ring. Then the power plug was 40 ft away. I don't know who laid this out, but they have obviously never camped in an RV
Joann Hatley Shull: Playground: Well maintainedRestrooms: CleanDog-friendliness: Easy to take my 3 chihuahuas camping 😆Picnic area: Nice big tables, well maintained.
Sally Bailey: Nice placeNot as clean as our last visit but still good over all. Great spot to kayak
Mary A Grimley: A late Sunday afternoon in a site on the water used to be a quiet time to enjoy the quiet ambiance of the setting sun over the lake. That was before jet skis ran circles just off the beach, chasing birds and making sure none would care to inhabit this lake with its LOUD and revoltingly obnoxious newcomers. There needs to be a noise ordinance. Why would these people add a noise maker to their already loud toy?Never again on a weekend night. Now I know why all the other campsites are empty. Quieter at home!
Fiona Brooking: We stayed in an RV, 24' long. No electric and it cost $20 with age over 62 discount. Could not rave about this place enough. Wonderful location which is so pretty and peaceful. The two young men on the ticket booth were just lovely and friendly. With water, dump station and rubbish bins everywhere it was perfect.
Tony Mostek: We go here at least once a year and love it. The sites are big and pretty spread apart. The prices are great. Many of the sites have electricity and water. The bath houses aren't the greatest, but we didn't need to use the showers.
Sam Woods: Very relaxing. Good rates. Close to shopping
Zachary Steele: Camped here the other day since it was so close to the airport. Rolled in pretty late but got there in time to watch the sunset over the lake and it was simply beautiful. I was in Loop B right by the water and loved my spot except how close it is to the road (can definitely hear the traffic driving by at night). I thought the facilities and restrooms were really clean and well maintained. Hot showers were available although a few of the showers didn't work and many of the shower heads barely released any water but that's pretty typical at campgrounds. I'd definitely like to come back sometime in the future when I have more time to explore the trails and the area. Absolutely recommend this campground if you're headed to the airport from far out because it's only a 25 minute drive to the airport from the campground.
Brad Bailey: Clean, quiet, and convenient.
Wendy P (Real Mumra): In spite of having rain for 3 of the 4 days we were there, we had fun. We camped in a travel trailer. Friends in a tent didn't have que as much fun. But, there are shopping centers within 7-10 miles so when the weather got a tad overwhelming, we took short trips to shopping centers. :-)
Tiffany Niehl: Nice campground with a trail for walking. We were here during the week so very quiet. Sites are older and some need work. Our site in C loop is clearly the site all the runoff water goes through!

Parkers Creek Campground: what do users think?
Janice Peele: Beautiful
Rita Gibson: My husband rented a spot for our RV for mothers day weekend. My first time taking our new RV out so I invited my mom and aunt. Since I was getting driped off I gave the passes to my mom and aunt. It was nice being able to come and go since it was my cousins college graduation Saturday. Well I had to check out and my mom had to head out on her 2 1/2 hour drive back home. She met my husband at the entrance to give him the pass to enter to pick up the RV. Ranger comes out of the booth. Is very rude to my husband and doesn't let my husband explain that he is the one that rented the spot for us. We'll my husband just wanting to get on his way pays for entree. Gets to the RV nearly braking it because he was upset that he got treated so rudly. First time using RV and well we will not be going back to Jordan Lake. Thanks Ranger
Steve Wingo Jr: I've been going to nc state parks and camping for about 2-3 years now trying to stay at every one but so far parkers creek has been the best simply because of the views and easy access to the water I love it!Restrooms: There are one to two bathrooms and showers in every loop, some may work some don't.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed just gotta keep them on a leash.Picnic area: At every camp site there's a table and a grill, I think there's areas where you can have a larger gathering.
Wes Swain: Current at site 21 / Loop 1 with a ton of road noise and dumb rangers who said they would bring firewood by and never did. So much for cooking dinner and s'mores tonight with my son. Tomorrow morning will be 40°F and we won't have firewood. We would have left to get some by the time they never showed up, but gates would have locked us out at dusk.Ridiculous. Not camping here again.
Tom Cooke: Nov. 2021, Loop 1 #12. Parkers Creek is one of several camping areas around Jordan Lake. We found the campground very nice, easy access. The sites that we saw were all pretty level, with plenty of shade trees all around. There are a few trails that pass through or near the campground. Bath house was fine, we enjoyed our weekend there.
Shams Al-Amin: The group campgrounds are nice. There is privacy and reasonably large to hold 6-7 tents depending on sizes. Each has a grill and a campfire arrangement. The parking space could be a little walk depending on where you reserve. The restrooms were horrible when we visited. Minimal cleaning and not up to the mark to some of the other parks we have camped into around Raleigh.
LIZ LIZARRAGA: clean family recreation place with a good family atmosphere
s b: Don’t choose loop 1Too close to the roadVery noisy at nightOthers r GoodBathroom cleanStaff friendlySpot face the view nicePerfect for SUP
Travis Stewart: 0/10 would never recommend the place is a wreck the lake is nice but that's IT the bathrooms have lizards and spiders and toilet paper stuck to the ceiling and they lock you in/out at 10 pm never ever ever and I mean ever camp at this campground sad cause it could be beautiful have some pride
grateful billygoat: ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WHAT SO EVER CAMP HERE YOU WILL GET LOCKED OUT BY THIS DISGRACE OF A CAMPGROUND THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED IF YOU STAY HERE THEY WILL LOCK YOU OUT AND IN AFTER 10PM 0/10 WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND SHOWERS AND BATHHOUSES ARE DISGUSTING HAVE SOME DIGNITY
Wilfredo Díaz: Great work
Steve Zung: The campground walk in access to the beach is terrific. The water starts very shallow, and the temperature was fantastic when I went June 12, 2022. A trash hanger, grill, and picnic table at every site! Wood available to purchase from the gate entrance.
Mallory Shaw: Beautiful park. Loved the camp sites, lake and trails! Could do without being targeted by the overly eager Park Rangers being jerks about some rules and not others. Almost ruined our stay but we didn’t let it.
Wendy R: Campground looks well kept. Bathrooms could do with a remodeling and some of the tent sites could use some leveling. We had to move the picnic bench to find a level area to pitch our tent. Most sites are spaces apart adequately but some are on top of each other. Would stay here again.
John W: Love this place. Would be nice if they would do a little work on leveling the tent sites but it's a great place to visit.
Allison Ross: Absolutely fantastic time camping here! Restroom was cleaned although one door didn't close and one didn't flush but it was great to have that option! Great place to ride bikes or hike to the beach on the lovely mile long trail.
Casey Simpson: The area is nice and quiet, however they will not let you out of the park after 9pm. The lady who owns the park is super rude and not willing to work with anyone. Overall I would not stay at this park if you are forgetful, or like to ask questions.
Jonathan Benincosa: Camped here twice as a walk up to loop 4, no reservation, in October because we wanted waterfront. We've made great memories, so don't let the 4 stars think that you should only camp at Poplar Point. Fishing was good. Toilets were regularly cleaned and shower pressure GREAT, but agree with other reviewers....where is the money going? We setup our tent outside of the timbers and had to move it. Initially I was unhappy with time wasted and sleeping on gravel. But it poured the rain that night and later appreciated the drainage.
Samuel John: Very clean campground. Lake view with a morning coffee is just priceless. Booked online conveniently. Restrooms and showers are usable. Convenient trash areas. Only issue we had was we booked two spots so our friends could camp next to us. On reservations map the spots look equally spaced but they are far from that. We were 6 feet from the camp on our right and 500 feet from our friends camp.
Valerie Cross: Beautiful campground!! We were there for 3 days. When we arrived checked was at 4pm we tried checking in earlier because we were coming from another campsite three + hours away we was turned away until 4. When we left I saw checking in at 10:30..We thought maybe campground was full when we got to our site a total of maybe 3 people there and to see that no ONE as been there!!!
Jim V: Spending 5 nights in an RV here. Sites are OK but not all have electricity and water. We are in Loop 1 and non of the waterfront sites have hookups for the RV. The bath house is just disgusting. Was going to shower there so as not to fill my grey tank (no sewer connections at any sites) but took one look and left. One shower stall was home to a spider the size of my hand. I like Jordan Lake but will stick to Poplar Point and Crosswinds going forward.

Mark: Great for wanting quiet.Great for long term.
eddie and chris cook: Great Manger, the price was good.
Erika Kelley: Quiet and had a great stay
Mark Wibberding: Great place helpful and friendly 👍
Jake Bartosch: This was the first RV Park we stayed at outside of our home state as full-time RVers. We were apparently naive to think that we could get a monthly stay 3-4 weeks before our trip in the fall near Raleigh. However, Marty was extremely helpful and really fought to find us a spot at her park, which she did! The park and amenities were decent, basically a big open space at the front of an old farm. Mostly full-timers and transient plant workers.Pros:-Marty is great-Cheap monthly rate (FHU)-Easy access to Jordan Lake-Cell service was good for a full-time remote worker-Next door to a large solar array-Laundry facilities were goodCons:-Surrounded by industrial plants-20-25 minute drive to the nearest grocery store
James Eubanks: Amazing RV Park!!!!! Mrs Marti is amazing ,kind and very helpful. The owner is awesome as well and cares about his tenants … great place to stay . Has a laundry facility as well as bathhouse for showers. Quiet and peaceful.
David & Keri Birk: Great family campground, Mrs Marti is awesome
Barbara Lynn Bryan Willis: Wide spaces. Love it.

stargazr1957: Stay here when we are in town visiting family. Nice quiet campground.
Angela Flynn: Quiet
Tim Current: Great place and nice people
Randy King: Great park
Gary Kelley: We only stayed for two nights passing through. Great for workers and full timers to stay. Good laundry facilities and heated during the winter. ATM on site and how to change machines for the washer and dryers. Ice is there available on an honor System. Showers and restrooms for those who need more space to spread out.
Orbit-Explosive: Gonna live here for awhile but already liking it.👍
Shaen Mckelvy: Propane guy does a good job...
lawanda pruitt: Very nice, quiet park. Laundry , ATM and propane on site. DOG FRIENDLY
Lacey Eaton: The local state park was flooding and I needed to move my camper, I had no choice but to arrive in the dark and the owner helped me get setup in the dark!!! He also answered all my questions about a month earlier when I was doing my research. Sites are pull through. Good facilities with lonnnnng hot showers and nice laundry area and extremly nice people running the place at an unbeatable price!!!!
Happi Ness: Clean, helpful maintenance people. Some permanent residents. No pool or other activity areas. Good place to just rest. Prices good.

Holly Point Campground State Recreation Area: what do users think?
Abbey Starks: Bathrooms are very well maintained even with rain and mud all around! Beautiful sites and lake views.Restrooms: Clean including roomy showers and flush toilets
Barbara Woodsome: I just love camping at Holly point. It is so nice clean bathrooms very clean. I keep going back every year.!!
Dawn Gogin: Awesome campground that we stay at every time we visit family. Large clean sites and beautiful lake.
Kevin McKenna: Nice quiet hide away. The o ly drawbacks are, no pump out at camp sites. 30 amp limit and tree coverage is 80-100%.Satellite reception is poor.It is quiet and beautiful
Dawn Ciaccio: Very nice campground! The sites are big and some are more private than alot of campgrounds. The grounds are very clean and no issues with the restrooms. We got in at 8pm so went straight to our site. Park Ranger came by the next morning, he was very nice, briefly went over the few rules and went in his way. Given 4 stars for a few things. You can hear constant highway traffic (loop 3. Not sure about the other areas). Not a big deal and no fault of the campground but sounds strange when being so far in the woods. There is NO WiFi. There is no camp store for firewood.
Elizabeth Coughlan: Best location at the park, the staff at the entrance station is particularly incredible.
Ron Viles: Wonderful park for camping. Entire park is clean and so are the restrooms. Park has lake access, so if your up for a swim go for it. Cant wait to come again after the closure in January for upgrades. Keep up the great work NC Park staff.Restrooms: Restrooms adequate and cleaned regularly. Cant wait to see them after the closure in Jan 2023.
Don Sweet: Great for what we needed it for, fishing, running, plenty of shade
Elliot G: Lots of space between sites. Sites are level and well equipped. Barh houses are clean and water is HOT. Beaches, fishing, boating access. Its pretty great.
Kevin Rumsey: Relaxing
Kaylee Aleshire: Great location, clean campsites. We stayed 2 nights in site 131. The site was a little oddly set up for a larger tent being that the table couldn't be moved and the fire pit was centered on the site but we made it work. We were fairly close to the restrooms but not too close. Many sites along the water. Very shade covered area. Bathhouse had 4 showers that were kept clean. We drove to the boat landing and swimming area, they seemed very clean and well cared for. Drove through the other loops in the campground which also seemed nice.
Lynn & Glenn Carroll (The Carrolls): So many great comments, hints and suggestions in previous reviews, but just add how helpful the park staff were in booking our recent stay. Our campsite and stay were perfect!First time we had seen double sites, and the handicapped sites were well thought out. Campground was clean and well maintained.A great intro. to NC Parks!🤠
Monica: Morning view. Beautiful place. Very clean.
jeremiah Bastian: I really enjoyed the place the atmosphere was more woods and less lake Aside from me catching a misdemeanor from my dog being a nuisance it was OKI would recommend it for the family probably in the Spring
T Barbee: Excellent, well maintained, campground for overnight and longer stays !!!
Chris Langenbrunner: Just one loop open. Great spots, well maintained and spaced far apart on this loop. This is our 2nd year at Hollypoint prior to Christmas. Site 103. Can see water. Be prepared for a bit of road noise and airport flyway. Also some sort of helicopter training treetop along lakeshore was interesting. Stayed 14 nights.
Teresa Wales: Beautiful park with lots of space between RV sites.
Vernon Terry: Super great
Chris Smith: We had an amazing night at this campground! Brought our pups and slept next to the lake. Facilities are well kept and maintained, there was some vehicle noise from a nearby road but really not bad later at night going to bed. Plenty of room for more than one vehicle or if you want group camping. There was a park ranger that would patrol every once in a while which gave us some peace of mind there was someone keeping an eye out. The grounds were well kept and they have a boat ramp that we may bring our boat next time to spend some time on the lake. Their website also offered a map of the grounds just in case you want something to look at online before you go to help pick out a spot. Overall we will be back!
Fran Boyd: Great campground and fantastic getaway.
Dale Francum: Nice campground if you get a good site. Definitely avoid 131 in Loop 4. There is a walking path, 25-30 feet, from the end of the gravel pad to site 117's parking space. Definitely an issue for privacy. Meanwhile the parking space for 131 is up a path, 100+ feet away
