4worldlovers: The boat rentals operation we will be following additional safety protocols to ensure that participants have an exceptional and safe experience. Please read the following information to learn more about what we are doing to maintain a healthy environment. Please note these protocols may change based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines as well as guidance from federal, state, and local public health agencies.

Rentals will be on a walk-up, first come- first served basis.

In accordance with CDC and NCDHHS guidelines, masks are not required indoors or outdoors for fully vaccinated people. People who are not vaccinated should wear a mask indoors and wear a mask outdoors when six feet of distance cannot be maintained.

Cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer will be available for participant use.

Note that personal watercraft (e.g. boats, canoes, kayaks, standup paddleboards) are not allowed in the lake at any time.

Lake Benson Boathouse is located just down the road from Lake Benson Park. Jon boats (with or without trolling motor and battery), canoes and kayaks are available to rent. There is no charge to fish from the dock. Dock fishing is only available when the boathouse is open. All rentals are on a first come, first served basis. For more information call 919.662.5703.

Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. Persons consuming alcohol of any type will be denied use of the lake and adjoining city property.

Boats are to be operated at all times in a manner that will not infringe upon the rights of other boaters or endanger lives and property of others.

No dock fishing or boat rentals during inclement or threatening weather. See Inclement Weather Protocol.

N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission regulations apply while using this facility.

Animals are not allowed in the water, boats, kayaks or canoes.

There is a maximum of 3 people per jon boat. (See below for weight limits.)
