Sun Star Family Farm: what do users think?
Tami Shipe: Best jams ever!!
Dana Cassell: My pig-loving daughter wanted to celebrate her 9th birthday at Sun Star Farm, and we had a fantastic experience. Due to predictions of storms + hail + tornados, we had to move the time/day of the party last minute, and Heidi was INCREDIBLY accommodating. We've spent a lot of time on petting farms near the triangle, and Sun Star is my favorite by far. Kids and parents all had a wonderful evening enjoying the beautiful space Heidi has created. Highly recommend!
Maria Anatro: Can’t say enough about this beautiful farm and it’s wonderful family! We had my daughter’s birthday party and it was one word: magical. Miss Heidi is excellent with the kids and was a fabulous host. They really respond to her and listen! She was just terrific. The grounds are excellent with lots of space to play, swings, there houses, digging pit with plenty of shade. Animals were a blast and the area to hold the party has all the amenities you need for tons of kids. We had great shelter from some rain and that only added to the specialness - the kids loved running in the rain! You won’t be disappointed. Really happy we had our party w Sun Star Farms!
Kelly Barnes: We have enjoyed this camp for years! They magically transform my indoor kid into an outdoor kid for an entire week at a time:)
Norman Chislom III: Enrolling our daughter here has been an absolutely amazing experience! I cannot speak highly enough of Heidi and her approach with not only watching after the kids, but also fostering their creativity, and helping them grow in so many ways. SunStar offers a calm, safe and loving environment for kids to learn and discover the world and I feel our daughter's life has been truly enriched by attending.
Rebecca Moses: Sun Star Family Farm is a wonderful, enriching experience for children. My daughter attends the preschool, run by Ms. Heidi, and I have nothing but glowing reviews for the quality of care. The children get to play outside, build strong social skills, interact with gentle, clean farm animals, and overall have a blast! We especially love the cute baby goats, squirmy guinea pig, and gorgeous horses. In addition to the top notch day-to-day care, Ms. Heidi is constantly event planning for the children and families. Christmas, Thanksgiving, May Day, St. Patricks Day, etc, etc. are always fun and special holidays for the children. Games, crafts, fresh foods, time honored cultural rituals, special guest appearances of Santa, good company...I could go on and on about the great social events!Last but not least, I fell I should mention that the preschool philosophy is based on the Waldorf method of teaching, and it was an excellent way to help my daughter 'come out of her shell.' She was very shy when she started the school, but with Ms. Heidi's loving, gentle guidance and a homey, warm environment, my daughter is now a social butterfly, ready to take on kindergarten. For children who are naturally social, Waldorf seems a fantastic fit, but for kids like mine who need a bit of help learning how to interact socially, Sun Star Family Farm is a blessing!

Winterpast Farm: what do users think?
Adam Gimbel: I love farmer Mary and this farm! I have been taking my daughter there since she was old enough to walk (Covid she was 8 months old) we still go and see all the old and new animals! We always have so much fun and many new learning experiences! Also feeding the animals is so cool! You can even buy feed and sometimes trinkets there and or rent animals too!
Bobby Pope: Lots of various animals chickens, dogs /puppies,emu's for adoption or food contribution supplies i took watermelon rind's and a little cash sher the the love 💕😘😘
Dena Garza: I found Winterpast Farm to be overcrowded, making it difficult to get a clear view of the animals. It felt more like navigating through a crowd than enjoying a peaceful wildlife experience.
Mika Higdon: I don’t recommend to visit this farm. The owner and workers are very rude. And most of all , all the animals look unhealthy and unhappy. It was so hard working around the farm looking at them.
DPattmaster: Great place
Hillary Roberson: Went on a field trip there and it was awful. Owner was rude (I’m guessing by the sign her name was Mary) and very snippy with adults. Place is not clean or well maintained. I mean to feel the need to put out a sign like this says enough to me
Barbara Knott: It's a wonderful place to see! The variety of animals that have been taken in and helped is as good as any zoo. They are living their best life. Don't miss this place.
Jeidy Padilla: Muy amables
Shai Johnson: I loved visiting here and playing with all the animals, yes it's plenty of animals but it's also plenty of room for them to run and play, she rescue animals and sometimes people just leave them at her farm with out her permission so that's why it's a lot of animals
Tyler Pauls: Noisy, but laid back
Anastashia hall: We saw new baby lambs on valentines day it was amazing
Natarsha Sanders: The owner is kind and hospitable. The animals are friendly and ready to interact with everyone. It's a good place to spend time with children of all ages. Mine ranged from 7 to 20 years old.
Ashley Santos: I found this place on google after looking up some nearby farms. I was missing my pet pig who I suddenly lost over the weekend. I had the most incredible, personal, & emotional experience here. She had backstories and names for her animals, who mostly were just dropped off by somebody who didn't want to care for them anymore and she gave them a home. I got to spend so much time with the piggies (guinea and mini!) and Farmer Mary made me feel at home. Peg-Leg was my favorite, I attached a picture of her below (the tuxedo mini pig). I told her the impact of the visit for me and she offered to make custom clay momentos of my sweet Eleanor Pigby. I can't wait for my next visit, and I hope that I can find the time to start volunteering here. Make sure you read up on all of the information you need to know before planning your visit (on her website) and bring food for the animals!! I wish I could give 10 stars.
Shante Henderson: Loved it. It looks small from the outside but don't judge a book by its cover. We celebrated our daughter's birthday. There were tons of chickens, ducks, peacocks and peahens, bunnies, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, goats, a few pigs, emus, dogs, and a lovely mini donkey named Claire. Clean bathroom. We had a delightful time
Chandra Tatta: Had a surprise birthday party for mother and rented the petting zoo. It was a huge hit! Adorable animals and Farmer Mary made everything very easy. I would highly recommend for any animal lover!
TJ Montgomery: We went here over a year ago and raved about it to our friends, the kids would run around feeding animals for hours. This time we were in an out in less than 30 minutes. Before, Lots of animal and lots of room for them, fresh bedding, etc. This time.... It's almost as if it has gotten out of control. The kids were terrified to get down as there had to be chickens ranging in the 100-200 range. Animal shelters are in disarray and damaged. Guinea pigs and rabbit cages filled all over the place, almost too many to take adequate care of. We were amazed before, we won't be back again after seeing it kind of explode out of control. Attached are a few pictures from our visit.
Jeremy Costa: I met the owner and she is great. The animals and experience for kids is amazing. If you don't go there with any expectations you will enjoy the experience with your kids. It's definitely worth a slow afternoon of boredom. The animals love to be fed.
Smita N: Visited Winterpast farm and had a great time. Loved the variety of animals. We saw Guinea pigs, many different varieties of bunnies, emu, pigs, donkeys, birds, chicken, goats and farmer Mary’s adorable dogs. All the Animals were very friendly and loving, coming up to us for being petted. Farmer Mary helped us with instructions on how to feed them and pet them.We spent close to 2.5 hrs in the farm.Reason for a 4 stars instead of 5 is the bunnies in their cages seemed to have very constricted space to move around and looked lonely. Hope in the future they have bigger free roam areas to house these bunnies and let them move around some more with their companions. We enjoyed the visit and will return
Andrew: We love this place. Farmer Mary has a big heart and is always so kind. Kids love coming to feed and pet the animals. I grew up on a farm and it's a great taste of home. We live about an hour away and it's definitely worth the trip!
Ellen Gowdy: My toddler contracted a bacteria here that caused her to be very ill for a week (bloody diarrhea). The bacteria comes from goats and was confirmed through a lab test. It was clear when visiting that the farm was not well kept. There was lots of mud. I certainly expect a farm to be dirty, but not in the way that Winterpast was. Certainly wouldn't recommend, especially to those with young children!
Elizabeth Small: Farmer Mary & her daughter Elizabeth welcomed our three little ones with opened arms. She was extremely thoughtful and beyond patient with us. We are certainly planning to go again soon.

My Little Farmer Durham: what do users think?
Kristina Klimas: My daughter loved this place! Lots of activities specifically created for the age group you booked yourself in (story time, working in garden, crushing food yourself so you can feed chickens). Lots of engagement with animals. After the class my daughter kept asking to come back to this place, so just booked more lessons. No wonder classes get sold out real fast, this is the best farm we’ve ever been to!
Karen Schaefer: I can't say enough good things about this place! My son is having the best time at Mini Rider Academy, and everyone has been so kind and patient with him. It takes him a while to warm up to new things, and the staff has been so encouraging and just lovely!
Ashley Martin: My Little Farmer has been a saving grace for my family during the pandemic. My twins have grown and thrived under the care of Farmer Lindsey. She has treated my children like her own and she is one of the few people I would feel comfortable leaving my children with unattended. Farmer Lindsey also accommodated my family and our comfort level when I was having health issues. We are so thankful for My Little Farmer and Farmer Lindsey.
Chelsea Berger: We love coming to class at My Little Farmer! Farmer Lindsey and her team do an amazing job. Highly recommend to all
Alec Moore: Wonderful farm with educational and experiential programming designed to connect kids with nature & animals.Offering a variety of parent/child, & drop off classes, as well as beginning riding lessons for young children, a summer camp, birthday parties & more, this farm provides quality programming and seeks to create a magical experience for all of its guests. There’s nothing else quite like it!
Kristen Bird: Wonderful place to visit.
Ciara SW Plourde: its very clear that they need plenty of training for the employees in how to treat neurodivergent children. the lack of ability to include children on the spectrum is disheartening from a psychological point of view.
Sara Mildred: Our favorite day of the week is farm class! Each class is creative and fun with just the right amount of structure. We've come for Little Farmers, Chore Club and camps!
Mea Farias: DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE IF THEY HAVE ANY SORT OF DISABILITIES. My son is autistic and was discriminated against today in the mini riders class.1. The instructor completed ignored my son the entire class. Did not welcome him or ask for his name, we don’t even know her name because she didn’t tell us.2. The owner Lindsey is EXTREMELY unprofessional and hung up on me when I was explaining what happened because she only wanted to give me a 50% credit towards another class when I expressed we did not want to come back. She said “fine I’ll give you your refund, bye”3. Lindsey called me back after I left my review trying to get me to change it.I previously left a review and the owner decided to comment underneath attempting to gaslight me so I thought I’d clarify here before she can twist my words again. A child cannot ride a horse when they are screaming, that I understand. Not once did I say my child must ride a horse especially when he was upset. I am saying that my child was upset and this all could’ve been avoided if the instructor would’ve just paid him ANY attention. INSTEAD the instructor decided to focus all her attention on the neurotypical child. I did not raise my voice at Lindsey but it is clear she is used to getting her way because as soon as I left my review she called back asking what she could do so I could change it. Once again DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES HERE. For a place that deals with children they sure do not know how to interact with them. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. And I will be spreading the word via Facebook as well Lindsey since I know you’re reading this.
Did tharin: This place was discriminatory towards my Autistic nephew and extremely rude towards my sister. When she shared her experience, they tried to get her to change her honest review. Do NOT bring your kids here, especially if they are neurodivergent.
Christa Sharp: I attended this class in April and I have shared my concerns privately. They were addressed so I have updated my review.
Andrea Howell: Always the best time at my little farmer. It's my son's favorite place.
Elizabeth Thomason: They do a great job with these classes! My 14 mo old and 3 year old just did baby animals theme day and I was so impressed even the little one was able to do everything, sit in story and song time, feed bunnies and other adorable animals wild flowers, and work in the garden where the fuzzy chickens were so cute and fun to hold and pet. They had a blast!! My three year old kept talking about it all day. We can’t wait for the other sessions, absolutely worth the price. Great job!
Amy Lark: Wonderful environment for teaching children about our natural world, farming, and animals. Farmer Lindsey has created a welcoming and loving space to share her passion.
Lindsey Boxxe Fiacco: This review is for the Little Farmers summer program. My 2.5 year old looks forward to this every week! The teachers are engaging, and appropriately flexible with expectations. Fun way to access the farm, animals, and do age appropriate activities, like brushing the animals, riding a "unicorn", and feeding the animals. Would highly recommend.
Alexandra DeSiato: Any farm experience at My Little Farmer / Old Mill Farm is so worth it. We have done classes and the "my private farm" visit a few times. The staff is aways lovely and professional, especially Farmer Lindsey. This is a wonderful location and a wonderful asset for families!
annette meesschaert: We had the most amazing time when we visited on a private farm trip. My daughters loved getting up close with the animals and have been begging me to get a goat ever since they met sweet Zora. This was exactly what we all needed to lift us out of our Pandemic funk.
Angela Elliot: I went with my Mom, sister, and cousin and we loved it. Everyone was friendly- including the animals! Definitely family friendly and worth the visit.-Allison Elliot (age 10)
Birgit Fleming: Awesome place to take your little ones! Highly recommended for toddler classes or farm visits!
