VANA MK: Once again, I have been deceived by the great ratings. The owner said the 4 yards of 50-50 soil was ready to be used in our new garden beds, and don't need to add anything for at least a year. First, the soil delivered was very sandy, dusty, bone dry, with low organic matter. He just mixed up some black stuff in sand. It keeps crusting up, and is very hydrophobic. I keep watering the beds, making holes and mixing the soil, but the soil is still bone dry, and water does not reach root structure. There are no earthworms or bugs in this soil - it's just dead, no life left at all. My vegetable saplings are struggling to grow, and wilt by mid morning due to lack of moisture retention. Second, when he showed up, I ran inside to get our check book, because he said he cannot "dump" the soil before I write the check. But, he just dumped the truck load, which we measured to be about 8 yards (we ordered 4 yards), before I came out with the check book. Half of the soil ended up outside the tarp on our drive way which now has this dark discoloration I could not get rid of. We also ended up with a boat load of dead, dusty, old soil after filling up all our beds. We just had to pour it all in the backyard, thank goodness our lot is wooded with pine needles all over. Just irresponsible and bad communication! Would not recommend this business. So much for using a small business!

He said that we were too far out for him to come out and he sent me a link to a place that could provide the service for me. Very nice and very helpful. I would definitely use them again!

Serena V: Owner is proud of his soil and should be. I used his 50/50 mix for one of my beds and the plants are thriving, while 50/50 mix from another place are not doing as well. Great customer service, honest about delivery time & will even refer you to a place closer to you if the distance would otherwise require him to charge a higher delivery fee. Will gladly pay the fee to buy from this place when I can, though.

In fact when his source delivered mulch he considered subpar for our delivery, he refused it and rescheduled our delivery for later that day so that he could bring us a higher quality mulch. I really appreciated his honesty and extra effort. As a master gardener, I know how important the mulch you put in your garden means to the health of your plants. Bill Bossing: Great service! I ordered 10 tons of gravel for my driveway and was given an exact day and time for the delivery. The day of the delivery, Jack called three (3!) times with updates about his arrival and showed up right when he said he would. And instead of just dumping all 10 tons in a pile and leaving, he took the time to unload his truck as he moved up and down the driveway, spreading the load out as he went. It took some extra time and a lot of skill on his part, and saved me hours of moving wheelbarrows full of gravel around the driveway. AND the price of the gravel and the delivery was very reasonable. Overall, an excellent experience!
