Ramon Morel: The ECM Exchany..Thieves Scammers using different name to hide I bought an ECM for a cat 6NZ, first time they send the computer with the wrong programming, unable to communicate with the truck, after I sent it back when they sent it (programmed) for my truck on the first run it lost communication again…cost me 2 tow trucks and a road service a total of $20000 plus the extra downtime…. Than when ask for a reimbursement they kept $1000 out of the $2500 that they charged me for a faulty ECM…. But it's ok my attorney will be in touch with this scammers…. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PEOPLE! Jade Chiles: Should have read the reviews before but they cover up using a different name, long story short they sent us a pos ECM came not working, now they told us to send back ours with theirs & they stole ours saying we need to pay them another $600 for them to send us ours back. We have been trying to get ahold of them and they do not answer the phone ever you can call 100 times and they might answer. Do not send them anything. This is ridiculous I’ve been out my truck now 3 months now because they won’t send me my ECM back. What a scam.

Mark Pounders: I really hate leaving this negative review, especially because this company has so much potential, but they just don't seem to get it or care. I won't belabor the point...just look at the other reviews...Unfortunately our experience was no different. The only thing I would add is that they finally told me they would block our number if we called about the status of our unit one more time. They told me the reason they don't have time for our calls is because they ship out hundreds of units a week, yet not a single positive review...from anyone.

Brian Heiskary: I should have read the reviews prior to placing an order. Suffice to say I was taken by this outfit. I have been waiting for 2 months and thousands of attempts to contact them by phone and email with ZERO response. Same issue other reviews had. They call you back and tell you your ECM is unprogrammable, fooled me into purchasing a fully guaranteed replacement with lifetime warranty, then went completely dark... Expensive lesson learned. Will attempt to pursue legal action, but probably won't be worth time and effort. STAY AWAY from these jokers!

andrey Livarchuk: Never pick up. Have to call 5 time a day to reach someone. Sent them my Mack computer to get rebuilt. They said they found the issue 4-5 days later then called again and they said they can’t fix it they’re sending it back. That took another 5 days. They had it for 3 weeks until I got it back. Waste of time and money this company is a joke.

IVAN PELLETIER: This company was recommended to me by a member of the ADS (Association of Diesel Specialist) which I'm a member of.VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE. I sent an ECM in for repair the 2nd week of December 2020. Got a call saying it was ready to ship on January 5th & I was told it would be shipped the following day Fedex 2 day air to Canada (which it was). At that time I requested that an email of the invoice be sent to me. I called several times after that for the invoice with no response. On January 8th I spoke to Brian to get a tracking number & invoice. He informed me that Fedex was missing the customs paperwork. Brian assured me that he'd send me my invoice & deal with the customs paper work right away. None of that was done that day nor Monday or Tuesday. It's now January 13 & still stuck at Fedex in North Carolina because the proper paper work wasn't sent upon shipping it. Also still haven't received an email of the invoice that I had requested several times. So I called Brian to receive an update (after checking with Fedex) & asked why this hasn't been dealt with? He made a bunch of excuses & told me that they don't like dealing with shipments to Canada! He made it sound like it was my fault for ordering it cause I'm from Canada! I took huge offence to that comment!!! When I first called the company there was no mention of not wanting to deal with Canadians!I just checked again with Fedex (later in the afternoon) & it still is showing as needing the paperwork! Though I did finally get my invoice emailed for a parcel I should have received last week!!!! Not very impressed with this company. I'm now a bit concerned about the product that I'll be receiving. Hope this isn't a reflection on the quality of their workmanship!!!

They contacted both BMW dealers in the Triangle area from the road and neither would even consider doing a quick code check for "at least 2 weeks". I contacted Jay at Rennaisance Auto (who services my Acura) and he agreed to squeeze in our friend's car for a quick diagnosis the next day. He was able to quickly assure them the issue was transient and they could continue their journey in a couple of days with confidence a breakdown was not in the cards. Ellie: These guys are great. Incredible attention to detail. I tooled in with a 2019 VW Golf with 25K miles that someone had told me needed a $2.6K new clutch and flywheel. Morgan and Jonny had already been 'full service', helping me to find someone to tow it if need be and speaking with me about the possibilities. They spent about 1.5 hours checking it out. Then, a lovely and straightforward Morgan came out and told me it was "User error." Which I had expected was a possibility. Brandon Hawkins: This is an edited review because I was compensated for further repairs completed by an Audi dealership after visiting Black Forest Technik. I want to emphasize that my car had extreme issues after being repaired by Black Forest Technik that weren’t present before being brought into their shop for the repair. I took my 2013 Audi Q7 with 80,640mi to Black Forest Technik in need of a diagnostic for a coolant leak on Thursday, March 3rd 2023. I had no check engine or malfunction Indicator lights other than low coolant prior to the car being dropped off. Their diagnostics revealed a broken crankcase breather assembly. They added that this entails replacing intake manifold gaskets (orange and green), coolant pipe, coolant crossover pipe, fuel injector seals, and an oil change. I was told that they would proceed with the repair when the parts arrived on Monday. I called the following Wednesday, March 8th to see the progress, and was informed that they will have to complete a second oil change (at my expense) to ensure no coolant had mixed with oil. I called again that Friday and was told they were now having issues with the heater blowing cold air. They said they were still bleeding the system to get air pockets out, so it should be ready Monday. I called Tuesday, March 14th and was told they will need to do another diagnostic (at my expense) to find why the car is not warming up correctly. I received a phone call Thursday evening, March 16th saying that issues had been resolved and my car was ready for pickup. Two weeks and $1,948 later, I picked the car up (80,676mi) on Friday, March 17th, after my overnight shift and drove home. After driving less than 20 miles, I go out to crank my car Saturday, March 18th, and experience an extremely rough idle followed by an EPC, ESC, and Check Engine Light showing 3 cylinder misfires, evap leaks, and a plethora of other codes that were not present when I dropped the car off on March 3rd. I had the car towed back to Black Forest Technik Monday, March 19th, for them to resolve the issue. I call them on Thursday, March 23rd to see if they had found the issue. They gave me a return phone call saying that after running tests, my car (with 80,696mi./Oil changes every 5000mi.), was experiencing PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE. They told me that I would need a new engine, and they don't do engine work. I once again had the car towed to an Audi dealership mechanic where they properly diagnosed the engine issue as a stuck open injector (interesting after Black Forest Technik replaced injector seals), costing me more time and money. The car was repaired by the new shop, and the car is now running fine. My car's engine had not failed.Service:General repairs maintenance

Jim C: Can’t even explain how fantastic my experience was with Black Forest. I dealt mainly with Jonny (and Morgan a bit) and these two guys are some of the nicest and most honest individuals I have met. My 2010 Audi q7 TDI had a high pressure fuel pump explode due to bad diesel and after bringing it two other places these guys were the only ones who were able to find and diagnose this correctly. I also dealt with insurance - while most companies would try to find a way to haggle and get it fixed not correctly - Black Forest gave me the CORRECT amount which actually salvaged out the vehicle. Talk about being honest. They did all that work for basically just the normal diagnostic fee. Not to mention I called them at least 20 times. Cannot refer them more and if you are looking for an honest auto maintenance shop who are the gurus of Audis/ Volkswagen (and many other cars I’m sure) … look no further. The parts took a while to arrive, but when they did, the work was done quickly and it is honestly shockingly impressive.Both Bettina and Jay were direct, informative, and I didn't feel like I was getting taken for a ride, which is sadly rare for an auto shop.
