Actors Training Ground: what do users think?
Lorelei Evans: I have been taking classes here for almost a year.First of all, this place is NOT supposed to be fun. It is hard work and intense training for acting technique. Tanner is going to be constantly pushing you and critiquing your performance... because he wants you to be famous one day and thank him. lolYou're expected to spend hours throughout the week doing homework and practicing.Even community theatre auditions are competitive and the audition and rehearsal processes are intense. These classes will prepare you for that.My first piece of advice is to take improv courses first. My second piece is to get out there and find ways to start practicing your acting and being in front of others during your first Acting 1 class.I started auditioning for paying roles after about 9 months of taking 1 or 2 classes at a time.
Von Emrich Productions: My name is Chris Emrich and I Own Von Emrich Productions. I'm an actor who signed up for Tanners classes and was ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED with his technique, knowledge and approach to teaching the in and outs of acting. I wouldn't go to any other instructor in the triangle for workshops. And look forward to completing all of his courses. OUTSTANDING WORK TANNER!!!!
Jim Burns: Positive:ProfessionalismKnowledgeable in acting & training actors for auditions.
Pyrion Astorii: Actors Training Ground is excellent! I decided to take classes here as a way to round out my modelling career during the pandemic and have been nothing but impressed with the classes. Tanner and his instructors are excellent. Acting is one of those things you really need feedback on as you are learning. They take the time to build you up with the basics and delve into the more nuanced elements of acting, helping you find your strengths and weaknesses in order to work on them. For the price I couldn't recommend any other place!
matthew burnette: Tanner is one of the best actors and teachers I have met. He likes to have fun, but is always professional when it's time to work. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to start acting or needs training.
Natasha Washaya: Well done
Janice Baker: Returning to acting after a 25 year break, Actor’s Traning Ground was the perfect place for me. I felt at home immediately, and after just six months training with Tanner and the Master Class instructors, I feel ready and excited to start auditions again. My abilities and confidence have increased beyond my expectations, and I am so thankful for Tanner and Actor’s training Ground for this!
VICTORIA JOHNSON: Tanner is an excellent teacher and dedicated to help you grow as an actor as you help yourself.
Gary Pezzullo: I find Tanner to be an excellent actor teacher and coach. I have worked with him in all three of these areas. For me in particular, he has a excellent nack for text analysis and combining line delivery and movement. Thank you sir

Back-to-One Acting Studio & Productions: what do users think?
Link G: If you're into acting, want to learn about the industry, or want to get better at acting then I'd highly suggest the classes and facilities here! I genuinely felt welcomed by EVERYONE I met here.
Corelove Sed: Back-To-One Acting Studio and Productions offers so many great classes taught by highly trained professionals in the industry. I’m very new to acting and I’ve already learned so much from my 1st class. Daryl and Bronwen are amazing teachers. As a novice I was really nervous to get up and perform in front of other people but everyone is so supportive and encouraging that it’s really helped my confidence. I’m currently taking my 2nd class and look forward to taking many more classes. I love that Back-To -One not only teaches classes but also goes through everything it takes to get into the acting world, such as, how to audition; what wear to an audition; headshots, audition opportunities (booking work); acting resumes; taped monologues; how to act in front of the camera…. and so much more. I originally joined these classes just for fun but now have seen how much it’s benefited me as a person. I’ve made so many friends in class. I also learned that I can actually memorize my lines, since I haven’t had to remember anything in years!. My public speaking has improved drastically,, as well as, my confidence. Whether you’re interested in film, commercials or theatre, Back-To-One has it all! I highly recommend them!
Allison Simeon: I had a great time in the class that I took here. Chris Hill was an awesome instructor. He was very supportive, informative, encouraging, and helpful. All the students really appreciated him.
Blossoming Universe: Wow! We are very impressed with Back-to-One! Our daughter just completed a teen acting class with Carrie and Chris. We are very impressed with the professionalism, the thorough instruction, and the preparation for acting skills. Our daughter especially loved the improv part of the class where she was able to be creative in the moment with just one line given to create an improv sketch with a group. She also learned a lot from memorization and acting out a monologue. We are looking forward to more classes to help bring out her imagination and creative learning.
Brennan Cross: Thanks to Chris Hill's help in Commercial 1 class, I just booked a commercial for TV being shot here in Raleigh!
Patrick Durham: I took commercial acting I with Chris Hill and it was awesome. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about commercial acting.
Seena Arafat: Back to one is very welcoming! Chris is great to start taking classes with he really does boost your confidence and makes you more comfortable with acting as well as helping you ground yourself to given circumstances
D'Alton Blackwell: Under Chris Hill’s teaching I have developed and grew my acting skills and abilities. With Chris as my instructor and mentor he has also helped me gain confidence in the craft and myself. Chris is an amazing teacher, coach, mentor and writer.Chris is passionate about acting and film as a whole. He brings great energy to every class and I enjoyed his class so much I took it 4 times. Thanks Chris!
Detron Phillips: Acting 2 class was a well thought out and structure class. There is not boundaries to how much you learn in a limited span of time. Chris is a phenomenal instructor.
Elizabeth Lucas: Back to One Acting Studio is the absolute best acting audio in the area. Not only are they professional, working with the best equipment, but they have highly successful instructors. Chris Hill a native of NC, has come back from California with so much to offer from all his accomplishments in the television and film industry while there. So many people of all ages are booking consistently after attending classes and taking advantage of all the studio has to offer. They are here to help launch and support your career.Come check it out. It’s truly Amazing!
Cody Morgan: Back-To-One Acting studios is an amazing environment to become the best version of yourself in your acting career. I’ve taken On-Screen Acting Level 1 and Level 2 primarily lead by Chris Hill who is exactly the type of coach you want as you begin or progress in your acting career. Chris is very talented and very personable and truly cares about you, your life and your goals no matter what they are.
lisa merritt: I cannot say enough about Back To One Studio and Bronwen Carson’s teaching abilities. I have been acting in community theatre productions in many different states for more years than I care to share. I hadn’t taken a true acting class since I was 22 yrs old and am now middle aged. I feel so fortunate to have found Bronwen’s scene study class. I have learned so much from her, that I question how I’ve done as much work as I have. I am currently in her Advanced Scene Study and her On Camera class. Loving every second of both. She has such an impressive resume. Bronwen is the real deal!
Andy Brewster: As a Raleigh-based producer that pulls together commercial shoots every month (with The 541 Co), BTO is quickly leading the way in cultivating some of the region's best talent. I and my company consistently look to BTO for referrals for casting projects and the students who come through here consistently deliver great performances and are great to work with on set. And, in guest visiting several classes and providing feedback to students on multiple occasions, I've been able to see first-hand how the coaches and staff go above and beyond to support students. If you're in Raleigh and looking to start or level-up your acting skills, don't sleep on BTO.
Hassan Darwish: I want to start off by saying I have been taking classes at Back to One since march of this year. I started with the Advanced scene study class with Bronwen Carson since then I have been taking the Advanced on camera and I can say that she has helped me gain more confidence in front of the camera as well as with my acting abilities. I still have a lot to work on and plan on taking classes with her for as long as I can before she leaves to back to NYC. If you ever were thinking of taking classes I cannot recommend her enough!!!
Marcus Brown: Was in town for the week; got a request to submit. Vetted every option in the region. Back to One was my first choice in all categories:- Professionalism- Convenience- Responsiveness- Industry ExperienceThe website and appointment process was sophisticated, the staff was responsive, and Daryl Ray gave me some insights I had missed myself.Very grateful. Highly recommend.MLB
Hannah Lawrence: I LOVE being at Back-to-One. I have been taking classes here since February and I am constantly learning something new. I’ve taken classes and/or been coached by Daryl Ray Carliles, Gus Allen, and Bronwen Carson and all are phenomenal at what they do. I am currently in my fourth session of Advanced On-Camera and third session of Advanced Scene Study, both with Bronwen, and I never want to stop! Bronwen has the unique perspective of someone who is an actor, director, and writer and is an incredible teacher. I am so glad I found this community of supportive creatives!
Gabrielle Morell: Since I can remember I've wanted to pursue an acting career and Back to One has made that dream even more of a reality. I started my journey at Back to One in January, taking Level On Camera Acting for TV & Film Level 1 & 2 with Gus Allen. I learned how to properly audition for TV and Film, how to break down a script (whether monologue or dialogue), how to work collaboratively with my comrades for scene work, and techniques for bringing a character to life on screen. Just this year Back to One brought on Bronwen Carson as an instructor for Advanced Scene Study and Advanced On Camera classes. Eager to learn more, I signed up directly after having completed Level 2 with Gus Allen in the hopes of further challenging myself and building upon the fundamentals of what I had already learned.Having now completed two 6 week courses of Advanced Scene Study and two 6 week courses of Advanced On Camera to date, I can humbly proclaim that Bronwen Carson's instruction has truly changed me as a performer and as an individual. Her work and direction is of the highest caliber and each class I take with her I am continuously moved and motivated to elevate and deepen my abilities. In her classes I have been exposed to techniques of Meisner, Laban, Stanislavsky, Strasberg, and Chekhov to name a few. She has a talent for creating exercises that challenge me to blend these techniques together, which helps me create more compelling and believable work & stories on and off camera.I cannot speak enough to her innate ability to foster a safe, professional, and equally fun and engaging learning environment. I feel this has been absolutely instrumental to the way she's able to facilitate my work. As an actor and storyteller, in order to do some of my best work I may be called to enter vulnerable and occasionally uncomfortable terrain. Bronwen's sensitivity and awareness to my individual strengths & weaknesses as well as limits and boundaries make moving through that terrain all the more rewarding. I have had the opportunity to meet my fears through a lens of curiosity and creativity in ways I never thought imaginable. The treasure vaults of sensorial experience and deep wells of emotion that I have been able to open within myself through scene study work has had a tremendous effect on the way I have been able to connect to and develop characters/roles that I work with.Within that same thread of thought, I have been given so many tools/techniques to help me build emotion without needing to feel it. As Bronwen has said in class, "always feeling the character is not synonymous w/ good work." It has been such a privilege and honor to work with Bronwen and I am so thankful for this opportunity that Back to One has given me to be able to work with someone as experienced and as knowledgeable as her. I feel so lucky to have found a creative home at Back to One and a bright, strong community of actors/storytellers who are realizing their dreams like me.
Briana Morell: I started acting classes at Back to One Acting Studios in November of last year and they have continued to grow and improve. It is the one place in Raleigh that has fostered such a supportive and professional environment where those who wish to continue in the field of acting (tv&film especially) can expand their knowledge, connections, and skillset. At the end of this year one of my favorite acting teachers at the studio (Bronwen Carson) will be moving back to NYC, making brief appearances in NC every few months and I cannot begin to say how much I have grown because of this outstanding human. It has been, and continues to be, the greatest privilege to work with a teacher who challenges and encourages me because she wants me to be greater than my potential. In the classroom Bronwen touched on the techniques of Meisner, Laban, Stanislavsky, Strasberg, Stella Adler and even created her own exercises that melded two techniques together which allowed me to not only expand my use of techniques as an actor, but to also understand that I can use what works for me and find new ways to incorporate hybrids into my process. What I also found to be essential to the growth of actors in her classroom is that she is incredibly aware of how world events affect how we actors show up to class and gives us the space to use how we feel. I also found it inspiring to learn from a teacher who understands how creativity unites us, yet also has the ability to hold space for the gift of nuance amongst a group of unique individuals. Here I will leave you with one of my favorite quote of hers that she spoke in the first class I ever took with her: “Embrace the beauty of foolishness. Please don't be cool :)."~Briana Morell 3
dvir finish: My experience with Back to One studio and particularly with Bronwen Carson was whimsical.I took Level 1 For The Camera class followed by The Advanced On Camera with Bronwen.Even though it was once a week class I could undoubtedly feel the progression I am making, the great inspiration I was influenced by and the support to try and dare.I am so grateful I had the opportunity to spend the summer and stretch my skills as an actor in this hidden gem.Thank you Back to One Studio and thank you Bronwen.See on set one day.
Genius Jones: Hello my name is Genius Jones and I am a comedian, content creator, and now actor thanks to BTO. Honestly I never thought about being an actor until I got connected with BTO. Me taking classes here has taught me that there is room in the acting industry for people with all types and levels of skill set. I have really enjoyed the hands-on classes and the easy to follow teaching methods that the teachers at BTO have. I have now been apart of the BTO Alumni family for two years. The experience has been nothing short of amazing. My understanding of the industry has grown so much. The advice I had received has helped me in so many areas of my life. I got my first ever headshots done here. I also have created my actors access account which I always wanted to do but never took initiative to do it. If you ever needed that push to give you a little motivation, this is where you will get it. I have met some cool people along the.way also. I have developed a drive to want to create now that I’ve learned bout things on both side of the camera. All in all I would say the BTO has been a jump to a hopefully success career in the industry. I look forward to seeing my growth over the next few years with the knowledge I’ve gained. My biggest lesson is to never wait you can start today where you are.
Jared Alstein: I've been taking the Advanced On Camera classes with Bronwen Carson and it's unbelievable how much I've learned in a month and a half. From learning new acting disciplines as well as things that I had no idea I was doing. Everyone is super supportive and it makes you feel more comfortable really going for it during the monologs that she assigns you.

Academy for the Performing Arts: what do users think?
Shalini Shiju: My daughter loves dancing here
Fiza Kaleem: Good instructors. Taking satisfactory safety measure for COVID-19
Ashlyn Michot: APA is hands down the best studio in the area. The teachers are always professional and do their best to make sure the students all feel included and enjoy dance — no matter their skill level. I danced there for 16 years in both their recreational and company programs and loved both. I now have the pleasure of working there as a teacher and love every minute of it!
Jay Harward: Great place and people! My daughter loves it.
Jordan Cecco: I absolutely love dancing here! All the staff are amazing and I have been able to make SO much progress!
Leah Jeannottat-McKinney: The students always leave class smiling! It's magical to see. Thank you!
Nicole Woods: A professional staff with a passion for kids...:)
Sarah Loveless: Love this studio!
Jill Manny: We love APA! All 3 of my daughters have gone to preschool there and dance there now. Great staff, awesome facility, and the teachers and families are so great to be involved with as a community.
Lindsay Wood: I love APA! Their staff is incredible, and the director does such a wonderful job of encouraging continued education in current dance trends and best practices for dance studios. Preschool for the Arts has an amazing and creative staff. I could not recommend a studio more highly.
Jan Cecco: We love APA!!! The teachers are incredible and my daughter has made such sweet friends there! Parents can watch classes from the TVs in the lobby. And the recitals? Oh my goodness, the recitals are absolutely amazing!!! =)
Sophie Beck: I love dancing at APA.I have been dancing here for 10 years.
MaryBeth Stec: Best dance studio in the triangle. The staff is very professional and friendly. High quality of dance for all levels. We love it here.
MK Cranford: APA is one of the most professionally run and well-managed studios at which I have had the pleasure of teaching. There is a place for everyone at APA, whether a dancer is interested in studying recreationally or pre-professionally. I highly recommend APA to everyone!
Marissa Ladd: My children look forward to coming to class each week and feel right at home. We love our APA family!
Stacey Heighes: My twins LOVE APA! They did the princess camp twice this summer and are now enrolled in the pre-k program. They literally cry to stay. Their teachers are super nice and our girls come home praising them and all the things they do in class. I can't say enough good things about this place. My girls stayed home with me until enrolling here and I am happy to see such a smooth transition.
Marie Flood: Growing up dancing here was an amazing experience, and I am so happy to have been a part of the APA Family. Starting in kindergarten dancing in rec classes, to joining company and getting the chance to be a TA in 5th grade, so being trained to teach my own Kindergarten ballet/tap classes junior year of high school, I have grown so much in my time at this studio. Hillary is an amazing human and I'm continually amazed by all that she and these rockin teachers do for all the studio kiddos. From dance classes to summer camps to preschool, this place excels in all they do.
Shay C: My daughter had her 3 year old birthday party there last weekend and it was AWESOME! My daughter had a blast. I even paid extra for them to bring "Elsa" She was absolutely stunning...all the kids were shocked when she walked through the door (mouths open) saying Awwwww, Elsa! It was the funniest, but cutest thing! You guys did a great job...the party planner, Marie, kept the kids entertained the entire time. My daughter was exhausted after the party....5 minutes up the road, she was knocked out-sleep. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I was little concerned about how it was going to turn out as I read a review after I paid my money for the birthday party, but glad that persons bad review was NOT want I experienced! Again, thank you...and please tell my "Elsa" thanks also...she played the role very well :).Shanae Crudup
Kathryn Bradshaw: I had my daughter's 4th birthday party at APA. It was scheduled months in advance and several weeks in advance we firmed up which princess would visit her party. I was very disappointed that the "party planner" (aka early 20s dance "teacher") wasn't very engaging with the kids nor did she really have a good "plan" for the party so that 12 4 year old were not just sitting around waiting for stuff to get set up. My sister had to keep jumping in to keep the kids' attention as I was trying to get pictures and get snacks on the table, etc. When "Belle" came to visit, it consisted of another teen girl dressed in a cheap Belle costume (without any shoes on) coming in the room to take a few pictures - she didn't try to talk to the kids or pretend to be her character at all. Even my 4 year old looked at her like "you're not Belle."The planning for the party was easy - Melissa was nice to work with - but the execution was a big failure in my opinion. Of all 4 birthday parties to date, this was the biggest disappointment.
Christine Alexander: I have bought a 3 month adult exercise pass at APA and so far have enjoyed the Zumba and Yoga classes. The teachers are nice and the participants make one feel comfortable. Highly recommend
Melissa Bader: I have 2 daughters that dance at APA. My oldest daughter has danced at APA for 8 years and my youngest daughter has danced for 5 years. The staff is friendly and are very good with the kids. The have a great dance program, adult fitness program, and a preschool. They also offer great camps and parents night out. The whole studio treats the kids like a family. What a great studio!

INDIGO BOLLYWOOD DANCE ACADEMY: what do users think?
Vinodini Krishnan: I was looking to introduce some fun way of exercise to my husband who has Parkinson’s and had to undergo major spine surgery for treating cancer. We both love music and dance and Bollywood songs have a special meaning for us, we grew up with the rich culture of Bollywood music. I chanced to see the information about Priya’s studio and reached out to her. We did most of our conversation on WhatsApp as she was travelling in India. Right from the very beginning Priya came through as a caring and patient person who is extremely passionate about her work. Not only is she a talented dancer but she has the gift of a talented teacher who knows how to break complex dance steps into simple routines and make it fun. She is ever so mindful of his safety and introduces steps cautiously.she is punctual, sends us dance routines ahead of time so we are ready for our class. She is a taskmaster but in a very kind way. My husband and me look forward to our dance sessions every week on Zoom. We have also noted that we are in a much better mood and full of energy after our dance sessions. From a Physician’s perspective I have long known that healing the mind and body as one unit yields excellent health both physical and mental. Interacting with Priya we are able to achieve that for my husbsnd and me. I wish our health care system could incorporate more talented people like Priya who could make such a difference in people’s lives. . I would love to see her be able to work with patients with neurological challenges like stroke, Parkinson’s disease. I wish Priya all the very best in all her endeavors. I would strongly recommend her to anyone who is pursuing fun and good health.
Vinay and Alounthith Reddy: Our daughters recently performed a routine for their Saree function and they had a short time frame to learn and practice the dance. Priya choreographed a fun and entertaining piece that was appropriate for their age and she was able to break down the steps and beats so that they could easily follow along. She was accommodating and listened to our needs. The girls had a wonderful time and everyone at the party had a great time. I highly recommend Indigo Dance Academy for any age!
Shaoleen Daly: Aunty Priya was an incredible, extremely creative, and very patient teacher! We hired her for our wedding choreography for both reception and sangeet. Although she was in India, she would try to make any free time to talk to me on the phone to discuss ideas and vision initially. I was not sure what I truly wanted for my sangeet dance but I knew I wanted it to be fun and Aunty created such a above and beyond creative piece showcasing our personalities and telling our story! She did a great job mixing and blending our music! All of our dance lessons were over zoom and although we were initially hesitant it ended up doing the job! My husband is Christian Caucasian American and he has never danced Bollywood in his life! Now, he was about to do solos and Bollywood dance along with other dance types for 6-8 minutes each! However, Aunty had lots of patience, was extremely motivating, and challenged my husband to dance harder moves and he was a rock star!! The whole crowd was in awe of his dancing, especially his family! I have always wanted a banger Bollywood dance piece and Aunty really made my dreams come true from the choreography to the music mixing while adding in elements of surprise! For the reception, we wanted it to be more fusion dancing and she was happy and willing to teach us waltz and salsa for our dance too while incorporating cool “dancing with the star” type moves! The most phenomenal part is that she is such a great teacher that she was able to instruct us all through zoom—I can’t reiterate that enough! For future couples, I would hire her in a heartbeat as she is extremely talented, flexible, and patient! We have crazy schedules as I am a physician and she would bend over backwards to find times to meet with us. In fact, towards the end, she sprained her ankle and still was persistent in teaching and helping us! Planning a 3 day wedding can be very stressful and she truly took the stress off of us when learning to dance. Looking back, it was a great bonding moment between my husband and I and I wish we could go back! I also lost tons of weight while practicing her choreo! She also did a great job creating our wedding party choreography dance! Thank you so much Aunty Priya for helping to make our wedding a dream come true!!
Mimpi Mandal: Excellent service with a very talented n dedicated teacher will recommend to many keep up your great work, will come back
Ria K: Dance Group based in NC, but owner was out of country . She coordinated & choreograph her dancers via zoom to bring forward the best performances for my daughter’s wedding. From start to finish Priya ( owner/ dancer) kept me informed for a smooth process and in the end her Dancers were just awesome! I highly recommend Indigo Dance Academy . Thank you Indigo Dance Academy!
Nishtha Madan: Me and my daughter have had a wonderful experience with Ms. Priya. My daughter loved the sessions. She has developed a love for this style of music and dance and it has also helped her overcome her shyness.Ms. Priya is very talented and makes sure each kid is enjoying while they’re learning the dance. She’s very friendly and always available to clarify any doubts. Highly recommend!!
RamPrasath Rajasekaran: Ms.Priya is a very talented teacher and kids enjoy dancing while learning from her.
Esther: I had a great time in a great environment!!!!! Priya is very energetic, kind, and generous. I highly recommend her!!!!!
Phani: I was very excited and didn’t know what to expect exactly since I’m pretty new to the dance.Would like to thank priya who is very much passionate and knowledgeable about the dance. Indigo Bollywood dance majorly focuses on The quality of dance steps she teaches which made us to feel more confident and easy to learn..She taught us some basic steps for the beginners that are very easy to remember ..Enjoyed every moment of the dance class and would love to recommend this dance studio giving a shot!!!
Rashmi Upasani: Positive:ValueWe enjoyed learning to dance and jive with Priya. Priya did a great job teaching me and husband who are novices at dancing. She was patient and went above and beyond to encourage us learn the new skill. All virtually!
Deepthi Jampala: Positive:Professionalism,ValueI found Priya to be very professional and patient with younger kids in Bolly Babes. She is prompt in communication and helps manage virtual learning well.
Payal Chhelavda: Positive:Professionalism,QualityIt was wonderful experience, Priya went above and beyond to make our day special, it was hard work teaching us to dance in short 4 weeks but she made it possible. She loves what she does and that’s why she is best at it, thank you so much Priya, it was wonderful experience and we enjoyed it.
Robert Fischer: My daughter loves to dance, and we have her enrolled in a variety of dance classes (ballet, salsa, etc.), but her classes with Priya at Indigo have been the best for her, because Priya both establishes boundaries and expectations, but supports and encourages and works with my daughter to reach them (even when her distractibility gets the best of her). My daughter loves the cultural horizons that are opened up, and she enjoys her friends that she has made in the class. I cannot recommend Indigo Dance Evolution Academy enough.
Richa Dolia: We moved to Raleigh and I was looking to sign up for dance classes for my whole family *(my husband, my daughter -7 years old, my son -4 years old and myself) and stumbled upon Indigo Bollywood dance academy. We, originally, registered to have dance classes in person in Morrisville in March and April of 2020 but due to Covid-19, our plans fell through and we had to look into either postponing our classes to a later month or take them online. Priya was very accommodating and provided us with several options that suited us. She offered to take one class for free online via Zoom meetings and check it out for ourselves. She even gave the option to provide a full refund in case we didn't want to go with any of the options above. We took our first 'free' class with her and LOVED it! She is so energetic, provides the best modern dance moves and is patient enough to work with any ages (as in our case from 4 years old to almost 40 years old). She found several ways to keep our kids engaged using rewards and stickers. In addition, she's extremely prompt at getting back via emails, fb messenger and makes sure to send us our recorded video from each session after every single class. I cannot praise Priya enough for her professionalism, being on time to class every time, sending our videos and other materials to help us practice, her patience with us and the kids, and her superb choreography with clean dance moves. In short, we highly recommend her and love her!
Josh Matthews: I would highly recommend Indigo Dance Academy if you're interested in learning different types of Indian dances or popular Bollywood dances and songs. Priya is an amazing dance instructor and a pleasure to work with. She is very kind and patient with her students and truly loves what she does.I had asked her to help me with a surprise Bollywood dance proposal to my girlfriend (now fiance). I asked her if it could be like a flash mob where the dancers start dancing and I join in mid-way through the performance. Once I asked for her help, she sprang into action immediately and started planning out everything and giving me multiple options on how it could be accomplished. She put together the dance team, recommended Bollywood songs for the dance and even did the song editing once we had selected the final tracks. She would go above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with the dance moves (since I'm a very inexperienced dancer) and even worked around my schedule when I could not make it to our dance practices. She helped me with the proposal part and used one of my fiance's favorite songs from DDLJ (since the movie has my fiance's name in it ;-) ) in the ending to propose to her. She also went with me to scout locations to make sure it would work for the dance proposal and helped me figure out a plan to make it a surprise for my fiance when she would arrive at the location. Everything went off without a hitch and my fiance was so surprised and loved the performance. She didn't expect me to learn Bollywood dance moves for a proposal and didn't expect the flash mob idea. I'm so grateful for Priya's help and would recommend her for future projects or if you're just interested in learning how to dance.
Karissa Laurel: I've been dancing with Priya for close to 6 months. I've taken several of her Bollywood Dance fitness classes through Raleigh Parks and Rec and I've done a special performance with her for a wedding proposal. She's dedicated, passionate, and very good at what she does. I look forward to dancing with her more in the future!
Sunil Das: My daughter learned a lot in very small time since we have to move other state. Even though it was very short duration for my daughter she enjoyed a lot during all her classes. She is really lucky to get Priya Chellani as her 1st dance guru.
Siva Raju: I enrolled my kid during last winder(Around Nov) for dance classes. I found lots of positive reviews on google and Facebook so decided to give it a try. But at the end of the season we were disappointed because of the below reasons1. There was a separate fee for the costume which was informed beforehand but what was not informed is the location of dance performance and whether it was indoor/outdoor and whether there will be any rain checks. There was rain on the date of the event and event got cancelled and all we were left was the poor quality costume for the fee paid. Also there was so much confusion on the date of event because when the costumes were distributed some kids did not receive or received wrong size. We were promised that kids will be made to perform in any of the future events but that was not honored either.2. The last class for the season was not productive. This class was after the dance performance event which got cancelled. My kid informed they were made to play games and there was no dance practice. The fee was paid for dance practice and it is expected all sessions are focussed on dance practice.3. The duration of each practice session was only 45 minutes which I feel is very less as it includes bio break for the kids and other distractions the instructor has with enquiries by parents.
Suraj Saravanan: I really wanted to learn some Bollywood dance moves which might help me be not look awkward during parties. Fortunately, I found Indigo Dance Academy on online. Mrs. Chellani is really friendly. I can assure you that you will learn a new skill properly with fun.If you are a type of person who likes to move around with people and learn a new skill, I would strongly recommend you to join Indigo Dance academy.
/- P /- R N /- D: I would definitely recommend Indigo Dance Academy. My daughter really enjoy learning dance from Priya and always looks forward for the classes. Priya is a wonderful person ,very kind and patient with kids. She has real passion for dancing and put lots of efforts to bring out the best in kids. I appreciate her for all the hard work and dedication and wishes her All the very best for everything. Thank You!!
Safa Kaleem: My husband and I first learned of Priya through a friend, who had used her services to choreograph their first dance at their wedding. After seeing the video, I was convinced! I contacted Priya and she was amazing from start to finish. She started off with a 1-hour consultation, which she was extremely flexible with, accommodating us when one of us had to facetime in to the conversation. She got a feel for what kind of music we both like, as well as what kind of dancing we wanted to do. We hired her for a short and cute dance at our Mehndi celebration, and a longer medley for our Valima (reception) first dance. She was sweet, professional, and knowledgeable. She came up with a long list of suggested songs and had us rank them. Through that, she came up with a wonderful medley of songs. In the beginning, we were a little apprehensive because our dancing skills were not up to snuff. However, we were pleasantly surprised at her immense patience and clear love for dancing and music. We had a truncated timeline, but Priya worked very very hard with us to accommodate our busy schedules as medical students. Within our short time together, she taught us the basics of bollywood, waltzing, salsa, and bhangra. She reassured us about our abilities to create an amazing performance, and she was right! Our friends still cannot stop talking about how magical and ethereal we looked. They said they felt like they were in a Bollywood movie! All in all, we highly, highly recommend Priya for her couples dancing lessons. She is an incredible teacher and coach! We are so thankful to have found her.
