Y2 Academy - Cary: what do users think?
sunny sonu: Once you call this guy called Philip he will be behind you till you join your kid. Once the kid enrolled he will show his true colors, very bad communication and sometimes he behaves rude blaming kids. He hires some 12th grade pass out kids to teach. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Unknown Person: Y2 academy is a scam
H. Kim: Yes, students need to study a lot, and I know much its stressful. I was here when I was junior ~ senior at high school, and it was a tough time for me. Spent tons of hrs to study🤣 However, no pain, no gain! Not sure if they remember me, but students & teachers were so kind, and I successfully increased 4 pt on my Act score. I finally admited to unc chapel hill, and going to transfer in this fall. Wanna say thank you!
jenna r: Waste of money to be honest. Terrible program. It's so expensive and there are so many small details in the contract that are not told ahead of time. They don't care that you have a lot of school work, you need to do both and if you aren't able to keep up, well that's my problem apparently. There is no time to lunch and being there for 10 hours is obnoxious, who on earth can focus that long. The teachers don't even cover the topics well or go over any questions students may have about the homework or the practice they took. Is absolutely not worth it, instead I would recommend any of the princeton courses. Additionally if you don't bring your laptop here, you can pay even more money to use one of their dingy tablets. They have this guarantee that you will get over a 1500 but they never hold themselves to it, they say "oh you can pay more money for more classes and see what happens". Or if the score isn't improving, they directly place all the blame on the student, not themselves or the teachers. They bring the parent in to accuse the student of not doing enough which just adds to the pressure. God Awful.
Aditya Bhatia: Amazing SAT Prep Academy. Raised my score from 1200 to 1540. It is a lot of work, no doubt, but it totally pays off at the end. They hire the best teachers, some of which have gotten perfect or close to perfect scores themselves. Well worth the money and intensive time commitment.
Kabir Pathak: Participating in Y2 academy, the environment was very informative and extremely helpful. Preparing for the ACT, the I received lots of assistance and a solid work schedule through Y2.
Rohan Vora (Vora the Explorer): Y2 helped me a lot to reach my optimal scores. The SAT class was one of the best experiences I had. Through the classes and the guidance of Mr. Lo I was able to get in to some of my dream schools
Abhinay Orugunta: Y2 is honestly a great place to go for your SAT or ACT preparation over the summer. Most of the negative reviews really overexaggerate the circumstances at Y2, or even just fabricate lies, but here's a good rundown of what Y2 has to offer.Positives:+huge score increase (netted me a 1590)+positive atmosphere (lots of students in your skill level to become friends with)+great staff and proctors (seriously, they're not only knowledgeable but also fun and friendly)+competitive (but not overbearing, it just helps you get the motivation to do better)+lots of practice tests and materials (that you can do on your own time, such as grammar practice and etc.)"Negatives":-short lunch time (though it gets better throughout the year)-long day (it's necessary though, so not exactly a negative)-homework (only takes around 3 hours if you manage your time well, we're teenagers so we procrastinate/get distracted a lot, so don't blame that on Y2)That's pretty much it. It's a really good place if you want to have top-of-the-line SAT prep and make some friends along the way. It's actually a pretty fun experience once you get to know the teachers, students, and proctors. It's a time commitment, for sure, but it's well worth the effort.
Jasmine: Our experience with Y2 Academy in Cary was wonderful! It’s a rigorous program to help students to achieve high SAT scores. My daughter received a good score on her very 1st SAT with a perfect score on math. She was with Y2 for only 12 days ( 108 hours ). My daughter was given a numerous assignments and several SAT placement tests to well prepare for actual SAT test. The Principle Mr. Lo is very nice and helpful, and always encouraging and supporting students. If you would like to have a SAT prep., we highly recommend Y2 Academy Cary campus!!!
Sanjay Pal: We had a wonderful experience with Y2 Academy. It really helped my son improve his score. In addition Mr. Philip was very proactive in working with Sid and continued to provide support and guidance. THANK YOU.
Emily Chen: Y2 Academy is honestly one of the best, if not The best, places for SAT prep. I saw my SAT score increase dramatically after completing the program and working alongside all of the wonderful teachers and the center director, Mr. Lo, who has helped us immensely in the process. Words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation my parents and I feel for Mr. Lo and Y2 Academy for everything they have done for us. Thank you so so much for opening this new world of opportunities to me.
KSJ KSJ: An excellent place for students to get their SAT practice done and be prepared. Highly recommend it. My kid saw a huge improvement in his score.
C F: My daughter attended the Y2 Academy SAT prep program in 2017 summer. We had a very positive experience. I’m impressed with the unique methods that Y2 Academy provides, e.g. Y2 uses computers for testing/grading; homework is in different levels (1 to 5); students have no access to cellphones during classes. I noticed my daughter has been using new vocabulary daily and solving math problems more confidently since she started the program. All of the teachers and the principal Mr. Lo are very nice, knowledgeable and answered our questions friendly and promptly. We appreciate the program.
Abderrahmane Touati: Y2 Academy has been a wonderfully stimulating academic experience for my son Rayan. Prior to enrolling Rayan at Y2, I felt a deep frustration with the paucity of structured SAT self study materials and study methods. More so than using methodologies and methods that were not proven by firm data, I wanted my son to prepare in an environment that could train him in the core skills that were (and continue to be) relevant to the current SAT. Specifically, I was worried about the new Evidence Based Reading section. It features data interpretation questions and vocabulary distinctions that can throw even the most advanced high schoolers off guard.Y2 Academy rose to the challenge with flying colors. With their clean classroom environment, friendly competitive atmosphere, and highly qualified teachers (for instance, one of the math courses featured a Duke University graduate), I was assured that Rayan was in good hands. My initial impressions were proven true when I saw Rayan using more advanced vocabulary and handle challenging math problems in his day to day life. All of the teachers and administrators treated us with great care.In summary, Y2 did not just prepare my son for the SAT. It gave him a foundational framework to succeed in a dramatically competitive college environment that expects students to hit the ground running.Dr. Abderrahmane Touati
Riley Baker: My son went to a lot of SAT prep classes, including the online ones. They did not suit him well, so we decided to come to y2 Academy for some additional practice. I heard many excellent reviews from other parents, so I said, why not? Their children got amazing SAT scores because they went to this place. The tuition cost a whopping $4,000+ right from the start. I was shocked at first because none of the other prep classes cost so much, but I set my doubts aside and enrolled my son into the spring SAT sessions. They told me that the classes were from 8:30am-6:30pm on Saturdays. My son was currently a sophomore at a very competitive high school, so I thought this is way too long for a high school student who's got other homework, extracurriculars, projects, essays, etc. to spend ten hours on a Saturday doing SAT practice. My son told me that the sessions actually ends at 3:30, but they prolong the hours until 6:30 so the students can finish their homework. Since y2 Academy has a set amount of hours (160) for students to achieve their desirable score, I had a feeling they just wanted to get the sessions over with so they could accept the next batch of students.Y2 Academy also gives their students homework and extra practice, which I think is great. But they demand that they score above an 85% on all their practice tests and complete more than five hours of homework each week. And every single time, none of the teachers check the homework or go over it. Students could literally not do any of the homework and none of the teachers would know. y2k hires teachers from other schools and colleges to teach a specific subject, such as reading and math. These teachers always arrive late, and often do not explain topics well enough for students to understand. One of my biggest issues of y2 Academy is their guarantee that "no student will score below a 1500 on the SAT". They promised that if the students did not reach that goal, the next SAT sessions would be tuition free until they reached that desirable score. My son had never taken the SAT before, so naturally, he did not do so well on the first one despite their classes. I asked them if he could take the next sessions free of charge, and they said only if he took the next immediate SAT, which was only a month away. They never told me this when I first signed the contract. I know most colleges nowadays take superscores, but there are still a lot out there who look at every single SAT score. How in the world was he going to improve on the next SAT if they didn't offer any classes?? I tried to tell them my concerns, but they seemed to "ignore" all my calls and emails. I got so frustrated with them that I took my son out of the session. This was probably the worst SAT prep class I had ever enrolled my child in. So bottom line: If you don't want to get robbed of your money and time, do NOT enroll your children at y2 Academy.

Huntington Learning Center Cary: what do users think?
Shams Sodeq: I had a wonderful time at Huntington, the tutors were always patient and payed close attention to my growth and the strategies that I personally needed in order to increase my ACT score.
Matt Marlier: We’ve had a great experience with all 3 of our children at Huntington Learning in Cary!
Megan W: My child has been at Huntington for one month and has increased confidence in math already. They are very transparent in the skills being taught. Progress meetings are thorough showing my child's work and how the students receive a pre-test and post-test to show mastery. We are very impressed so far and thankful to Huntington for providing our child with skills and strategies to master the math gaps missed over the years in preparation for Math 1.
Dominick: Huntington Learning Center in Cary has been excellent for my son. He started in 3rd grade behind in school and testing below grade level. He is now getting ready for high school testing in the top percentile of his class and working 1 to 1.5 grade levels ahead of school.
Sandy Barnes: We had a very positive experience at Huntington in Cary. Our daughter's ACT prep was tailored to the areas she needed to improve. Her scores significantly improved in all areas. The executive director, Vivon and the managing director, Karen, as well as the tutors were a pleasure to work with and were always very helpful with any questions or scheduling sessions.
Sangkil Moon: My son took ACT lessons at Huntington during this summer. The center's systematic lessons helped him find his weaknesses. They customized their lessons to help him improve in his weak areas. As a result, he was able to improve his ACT scores substantially.
Kevin Crane: Huntington Learning Center Cary has exceeded my expectations over the past two months. My 7th grader is making great grades now, and is more confident as a student. I'm pleased with the detailed approach Huntington takes from start to finish. I highly recommend Huntington Learning Center to help kids succeed academically.
Daniel Varon: Learning plan to accommodate every need. Our Son is showing excellent progress after a few months of enrollment. The most important part is the progress he is seeing on his own work.
Rachel Ney: We have had a very positive experience at Huntington. They have helped my son with language arts and math these past few years. Math was especially tough this fall and Huntington helped us get a plan together for more specific tutoring and squeezed us in for extra sessions right before the final exam. The additional assistance and tutoring sessions were a lifesaver and he got a terrific grade on the final. The teachers and staff are awesome and they go above and beyond to help him learn the material. We really appreciate everything the team at Huntington has done for us.
Caroline Marques: I came to this place at the beginning of my junior year. I took a practice ACT test and did not do well. After my results were analyzed, my father and I had a meeting with the owner/director, who asked me where I wanted to go to school, to which I responded “UNC”. He was quick to tell me I would not get in, and that I had to start thinking about places “more like ECU”. Besides being incredibly rude, he made me feel as though I was not capable of getting into any good schools. When you have a business that is supposed to lift up your students and make them feel confident in their ability to improve, the last thing you should do is make them go home crying after leaving your office (which is exactly what happened to me). I am writing this review a few years later because I am now a straight A student at UNC Chapel Hill, the place I was told I could never get in. This man’s words haunted me throughout my entire college application process because he made me believe I was not good enough. He was wrong. Do yourself a favor and take your kids to a learning center that will encourage their students, and not bring them down.
Sreemanth Gollamudi: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Cathy M: Positive:Communication,Professionalism
Leslie Green: Extremely rude staff. I called with questions and the person I spoke was extremely rude.
Heather Sasser: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueExcellent communication and flexibility with scheduling sessions. Knowledgeable and friendly teachers. My child enjoys his weekly tutoring sessions.
Melissa Higgins: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Eniko Skintej: Great place! Our son has vastly improved in a year. Highly recommend.
ray l: Our daughter attended Huntington- Cary for SAT prep and her score went up 100 points in just a few months! The teachers and staff are great. We are so happy we decided to have her attend Huntington.
L Scales: Daughter's ACT scores definitely improved after her time with the tutors at Huntington. Would definitely recommend
Lioubov Boulkina: Very focused, very professional, and very efficient service. My son has increased his ACT score from 19 to 32 in a few months.
Aleta Hoch: Both mother & son entered into this program exhausted, feeling defeated…but It affected our entire family in every way 5 days a week. This well experienced and wise staff was patient while I got onboard with their program and relinquished my way for theirs. I have my life back, and my relationship with my son! I have been set free!!! He almost always secures As and Bs- and they are all his! This has built confidence in his abilities and driven him to take responsibility. Forever grateful🙌🏼
Wray Braswell: Friendly, knowledgeable staff offering tutoring for elementary through secondary education as well as a wide variety of standardized tests. The center is accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools.

LearningRx - Cary Satellite Center: what do users think?
sgt dee: We had Carolyn H. for my child's trainer. Can't say enough good things about this lady. Always encouraging and supportive. Never made training seem like a chore. Kept my child engaged and eager to keep coming back for more! Highly recommend LearningRx and Ms. Carolyn!
Michelle G: We are over a 1/4 of the way through the Read Rx program and I am so very pleased with the progress my daughter has made. Her trainers, Carolyn H. and Kim W. are excellent. Rejoice in her victories and help her with her struggles. Thank you for an excellent program!
Christy Holliday: My daughter's experience with Learning Rx has been a journey in gaining confidence, focus, study and comprehension skills. The trainers she worked with were fantastic at keeping her engaged - it was such positive experience for her! She worked with Kyle over the summer and even though she was working hard, he made it fun and kept her happy to be spending some of her vacation developing long-lasting skills. Learning Rx has made such a difference in her self-esteem and school performance!
Kristin Yonker: Overall it was a great experience and I have no complaints. It was well worth the drive and time spent to help our daughter. Her trainer (Kim Waters) was fantastic and everyone was always helpful and nice. Our daughter showed great improvements and we are so thankful!
Rebecca Rechkemmer: With the reading challenges discovered in my son as young as preschool and the journey we have been on has been a crazy one.I was referred to LearningRx during our annual homeschool academic testing. I looked at LearningRX's website and debated about things for a period of time, but knew i had nothing to lose with at least doing their evaluation. the results of the initial testing were astoundingly similar to things i had already known about my son's learning challenges. How could this "test" and the people testing "know" my son's learning challenges with just meeting with him during the testing periods only.....that's how accurate their testing is.LearningRx then provided my with a plan of things that they target to help improve a child's learning challenges. Thru their program of different, fun, and engaging activities - they worked my son's brain to "unlock" challenges and "connect" different areas of the brain to help the brain work more harmoniously. My son needed LearningRx's longer program - (160 hrs = @ 9months) - it proved to be some of the best time spent. My son's trainer - Debbie Surrett - was awesome with scheduling our times, vacations, injuries, illness, etc. Debbie is super patient, kind, tender, knows when to push, when to give a child a "break", how to set mini-goals and incentives to help achieve them, keeps track of goals, gave feedback as needed, asks for feedback of things the parent sees at home, the differences/improvements/what is still a challenge and how to use that information in her sessions. At the conclusion of our time, my son was sad "to be done" because he like the activities and seeing Debbie - we were going 3x's a week, so it was a part of our routine and he was going to miss her.We will be going back to LearningRx for more training in the next year or two - hopefully, Debbie will still be there and we hope to be able to team up with her again.
Amy Woods: Our son’s trainer Deborah Surrett was amazing. She was so encouraging and really challenged our son to reach his goals.
Natalia West: My son is not even half way into the program and we are starting to see great progress!! Mo has been incredible making my son feel comfortable and making it fun! She has been awesome!

Triangle Education Assessments: what do users think?
N. Vaughn: I experienced excellent customer service and promptly received the test reports. Thank you!
D K: Couldn't have asked for a better customer service experience. The agent, Debbie, was friendly, patient, answered questions, and made the whole process simple. Will be using Triangle from now on.
Ko Eun Bae: Instructions are fairly easy to follow for first time online exam purchaser (Iowa E/CogAT7). When I had a technical issue, Emily helped resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. Results were emailed the very next day after the last day of the exams. I am happy with their service and plan on using them yearly.
A Tart: I have used Triangle Education Assessments annually throughout the 10 years I have homeschooled my children. We have use the paper version of the Iowa and the online Stanford. No matter what the test or format, the experience has always been smooth and painless. When I have needed to call with or email questions, communication has been prompt, helpful, and friendly. Test results are received quickly.
Kelly Hutzel: We ordered a test online months in advance. It arrived well before our testing date with easy instructions. Just had to drop it off at the post office and we received our scores back in a timely manner. Worked great for our homeschool testing needs.
Kristi Goddard: As homeschooling parents of over 10 years, my husband and I have relied on Triangle Education Assessments (TEA) for many, many years as our go-to place for the administration of yearly testing. With our two very different testers, we've found TEA has never failed to meet the needs of each of our children. We truly believe - no matter the specific needs of your tester - you can rely on TEA (over all others) to be a most reliable, cost efficient & always time conscious resource for all your testing needs.
Amy Sloan: We've used Triangle Education Assessments for 8 years and counting! Testing days are well-organized and well-run. My children have had great experiences with their services.
Kara Hensley: I have purchased our Stanford tests here for at least 7 years. The exams always came in a quick, timely manner, and we receive detailed reports about 6 weeks later. Highly recommend.
Lacey Yoho: We have used Trianlge Educational Assessments for many years and have never been disappointed! They are prompt, professional, and responsive. Highly recommend them for all your testing needs!!!
Amy Wilson: My son felt very at ease taking the WCJ in a one-on-one setting. He greatly enjoyed his interaction with Debbie and was grateful to not have the testing take as long as the Iowa from the previous year. I was thankful for the detailed feedback and to have an actual conversation with a person who had directly tested my son instead of just "reading about him" on a piece of paper. I was able to ask questions and gain strategies for the future. I highly recommend!
Brother Compton: From California: I have used Triangle Assessments for 10 years. They have made Homeschool Testing and ordering of materials a thorough and pleasant experience. They have been very helpful in choosing which Test would be best suited for my Son, and even offered help, in creating his Transcripts. I highly recommend Triangle Assessments if you are thinking of Homeschooling! A very Professional Company!
Jerry Witte: I've used Triangle Assessments for our homeschool testing for about 5 years and have always had a good experience with them. Ordering tests are easy and if you have any questions they are very helpful and timely in answering. I appreciate the values and morals they stand for as well.
Natalie Thiele: Prompt, efficient.
James Schnepp: Great service and support. Prompt and efficient in testing, getting test results, and assisting with any issues to make testing run smoothly. Having used TEA and been satisfied for the past 5 years, we will gladly continue to use them in the foreseeable future.
Wendy Brown: We had just moved and wanted the same test as we had used in our previous state. Triangle Ed Assessments personally contacted us back with answers to ALL my questions. Their service was prompt, instructions VERY clear, and service was amazing. We are looking forward to using them again and in years to come. I highly recommend them for all your testing needs.
J and R Van Farowe: Fantastic organization.
Sarah Gallagher: Excellent service, been using them for 4 years. My kids love their testing here.

Pearson Professional Center: what do users think?
Sarah Hernandez: The proctor at the site was wonderful. She was kind and efficient. When my break time started and when my testing ended, she was at the door without me even having to motion to her. The room was very quiet and also had headphones to cover my ears which worked so well to make it even more quiet so I was not distracted. They had earplugs and tissues also available. Very happy with the whole experience. Clean and quiet facility, and comfortable, adjustable chairs for testing.
Elsa Trunnell: The proctors were really nice and professional, the place was clean and quiet, and the chairs were really comfortable. I would take an exam here again
Larry Rosen: Nice experience. Good staff. They take security and also cleanliness seriously.
phillip stewart: Normal testing center. Very strict on the mask policy and I had to sanitize my hands 25 times in the hour that I was there.
G V Debnam: Nice facility. Friendly staff. But won't have my score until a day or so. At least it's over. Prayerfully "one and done."
Troy McClain: Clean, a little troublesome to tell the difference between it and the other buildings around it but still overall great
Samantha Cruff: I went to Pearson for my insurance license testing. They were very friendly and efficient while keeping to strict covid-19 protocols. It was a great testing experience, and I'd highly recommend this location.
JoJo Yang Brown: Strongly recommend this location for test taking. All of the proctors were wonderful -- kind and understanding and gave clear instructions. The facility is clean and quiet. The restroom is right outside the Pearson office door. Any nursing mothers who need to pump during their exam - there is also a nice area for that and the staff was very nice and helpful with this accommodation.
Elizabeth Moore: Very easy to find, clean and quiet testing center.
Alex Martin: Great experience for a required examination. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and gave great instruction. This location was easy to find and inside was clean. The testing areas was quiet and they also provided headphone or ear plugs if needed. I would use the testing center again.
Ryan James: They have it set up and stop you right in the middle of your testing so you can review your 1st 30 questions before you submit so then you let your time run out before you submit and apparently there's 15 more questions for total of 45 so you fail. Then you have to pay $45 to take the test again. Why don't you just put out the 45 questions for somebody to answer altogether? Makes no sense.
Tami Smith: The system is set up so you have to kept coming back and pay the exam fee also how can ANYONE trust an exam that doesn't show you what u got incorrect ,so you get a print out that only shows a bar graph,HOW DO I KNOW I DIDN'T PASS THE 1ST TIME I TOOK CASUALTY AND PROPERTY! THE WHOLE PROCESS IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!!
Tara Francis: This location is impossible to find or get ahold of!
