Allis Tina LaBeau: Horrible job. Not only a bad job but used unlicensed electricians. I have to have everything redone. I have other safety issues that I have to deal with. This company has been a nightmare.Edit response: It wasn't perfect until payment, but you wouldn't have known that because you never had anything to do with it after quoting the job.. Your responses to negative reviews are exactly what you get with this company. Carlos is a bully. The judge told you to knock off a third of what you said we owe. Then he told us we have grounds to sue you back for the entire job to be redone with permits and licenced electricians. James Glenos: Overall we had a good experience with AMC Contracting and I would consider using them again for future projects. AMC handled all the demo, plumbing, electrical, painting/drywall, and appliance installation work surrounding our kitchen renovation. This was the majority of the work, and we also added on additional work in other areas of the house (interior painting, bedroom ceiling/floor repairs) that they were able to accommodate. AMC coordinated their work around the work we had already arranged (cabinet installation and floor work) without issue. We were impressed with the professionalism of the workers, and they showed up every day according to the project schedule through completion.Most communication throughout the project is handled via email. This was one of my biggest concerns going into things, but it didn't end up being an issue for us as the project was completed to our satisfaction in a timely manner, and we always had timely responses.Service:Remodeling

Ro Ralph: Incredibly unprofessional office personnel who are non responsive at times and very slow at others via e-mail (their stated preferred method of communication) without answering the questions. Office manager never returned any phone calls which all go to an off site call center. A 2 day project took more than 8 days with multiple complaints about the poor repairs, and the work not even completed. Example of workmanship was evident in the fact that a simple trim repair around and exterior door required a complete door jamb rebuild as the workers destroyed the existing one, and while removing the trim to replace, they also destroyed several pieces of siding that then had to be repaired. All caulking had to be redone under direct supervision. Note: the workers were friendly, and one stated that he was unaware of the work that needed to be done because all he gets is an e-mail from the main office with an invoice attached.Services:Exterior structural repairs,Exterior finishing

Sara Lanter: We used AMC Contracting for our Master Shower Repair due to a water leakage. We loved our shower and stressed to them that we wanted the exact same look. They agreed and took their own pictures so they could replicate the shower. The tear down and the tile reinstall went great and their tile work is great. What was never mentioned verbally or in the contract that we signed, is they use another company for shower glass install. We were uneasy with the conversation we had with the Glass Company from the beginning when measurements were taken for our shower glass. We stressed our concerned with the owner of AMC Contracting (due to AMC wanting the another 40% of cost which would give them 90% of cost paid even before the shower glass was ordered or installed). The owner of AMC Contracting, Carlos, assured us that our shower glass / door would be the same as what was originally removed by AMC. The shower glass took twice as long as the original estimate to arrive and we had to question AMC about the length of time. The shower glass install began and it was not the same install as we originally had (like we had requested from the beginning with AMC). The Glass Company owner stated no one told him what we wanted, and AMC did nothing to help us correct the situation, basically stating that this Glass Company does all their glass installs and its up to the Glass Company to fix. We chose to let them go forward with the Shower install due to we need our shower complete — only to find out that there is an uneven gap (top to bottom) between the shower door and the rest of the shower glass. AMC Contracting is no longer responded to our emails (which you communicate with them through emails only), and our last email with AMC was them just emailing us that the Glass Company will reach out to us ASAP and that was 5 days ago. But AMC does not care that the our shower glass is not correct because they already have 90% of the cost of the shower remodel — our mistake. They repaired a big problem I had with my back (patio) door & small area of inside subfloor next to the door. Water had splashed up from the deck (for years) and the bottom of the door center support had rotted out & small area of inside subfloor had also rotted & needed replacing. Sergio & team removed the patio door and replaced the support & replaced the necessary subflooring. They re-installed the patio door, storm door, did necessary caulking & painting. A great job! Julio Portalatin: Wish our interaction could have gone better, and I expected it to since they had such good reviews in the past. My experience however was very unprofessional, especially when it came to transparency and communication. Over a 2 month period I asked a dozen times to speak with someone over the phone to get details of my project and was constantly turned down or ignored. Would get one sentence responses to emails that didn't actually answer any of my questions on timelines or what to expect once we would get started.Needed to get this project done quickly and since we were already months into "planning" I paid them 50% upfront. The owner then proceeded to cancel the project THE NIGHT BEFORE they were supposed to start which was only communicated to me 2 days before.It is obvious this company is taking full advantage of customers in this market, choosing who to work with and how to treat them. I just wish they didn't waist so much of my time and turned the job down earlier in the process, before signing a mutual contract.After all was said and done though this was a blessing in disguise for my family. I found a much more reliable and communicative contracting company for the immediate project and many more to come.

We needed to remove the tile backsplash in our kitchen as part of a refurbishment, but since we were replacing it with drywall (instead of tile), we could not find anyone willing to do the work without charging us an arm and a leg and making us wait six weeks for the privilege. Then we found AMC. Carlos not only willingly embraced the project, he scheduled us for the same week, which allowed the rest of the kitchen project to stay on schedule. As if this weren't enough, the people he sent to do the job were kind, considerate, timely, and highly skilled. Monty Parker: I contacted Creative Renovations for a quote to install a Bi-Fold door between my living room and screened in Porch. Tim from CR, was very responsive coming to my house to look at the project and provided me a very competitive quote a day later. The project went according to schedule with Glass Depots who built the door. Tim's carpentry crew was outstanding as they quickly installed a support structure while creating a dead-air space to keep our living room comfortable, created the 9 foot space for the door, installed a manufactured beam for the span that met the engineer's specifications while Glass Depots built the door to final opening measurements. The door installation was quick by Glass Depots and Tim's crew was out immediately to finish the trim and remove the support structure. Several other contractors either refused the job or suggested unacceptable options.They created a spacious, comfortable porch, with a cathedral ceiling with skylights and a fan/light. The work was done within a reasonable period of time, and within the original estimate.A few small issues have cropped up after completion (lumber knots "bleeding through" painted surfaces, caulk shrinkage). Adam Mathews: I recently employed Noble Renovation to finish my basement. The project was to turn my unfinished, 900 sf space into a movie theater, bar area, general purpose room and half bathroom.The biggest thing for me that one needs from a contractor coming into your home is trust, and Steve Noble very quickly earns your trust. My project came with some specific requirements for the movie room, not least of which was a significant amount of soundproofing. Even before the contract was signed Steve did the necessary research to understand it and was very attentive and accommodating of the smallest of details that come with effective soundproofing.We were very satisfied with the quality of his work also. The trim guys he uses were particularly good. He lets you know what work is scheduled that day or week etc and even though we suffered a few weeks delay, not Steves fault, he still got the work finished by Xmas as he had promised.Steve visits the project regularly and oversees progress, updates you etc rather than just calling subcontractors and letting them sort it out. You can probably find contractors that are cheaper than Noble, but his pricing is very transparent and certainly reasonable, and when it comes to home remodeling, you absolutely get what you pay for. We were certainly left content that we got a great product and value for our money.I would absolutely recommend Noble Renovation to anyone looking for any kind of remodel and Steve is a pleasure to work with, who takes pride in both his work and his customers.

Craig Wilson: We partnered with Noble Renovation to build a new three-season porch and to add an upstairs dormer to our Cape Cod. From the start, the team was helpful and engaging. Steve participated in multiple plan reviews with our Architect and immediately brought his experience and expertise to light. As a result, we started with a much better design. Steve’s project management expertise and discipline dictated that every aspect of the project be identified and addressed prior to project start. And once we started, we were amazed at the pace of project and quality of work. Communication was frequent, clear and accurate. The online portal and mobile app were unexpected features and further increased our confidence in the project progress. Steve never came to us with an issue without also having several options; all of which were well-thought and feasible. There were no unexpected surprises and any change orders were a result of our choice or decision. Most importantly, we finished on time, on budget and love the results. David Yarnall: We contracted Noble Renovation to renovate two bathrooms. The renovations were extensive and required some minor structural modifications to the house. From the very beginning, their goal was to understand and create the exact product that we had in mind. Throughout the process, they provided excellent oversight of their sub-contractors and communication with us. When we had a problem with the granite that was installed, Noble Renovation took the position that they were not satisfied until we were completely happy with the solution. Ultimately, the granite was removed and replaced with the selection that we wanted. After the renovation, we had a realtor look through our house. Dat T Nguyen: Took forever for the owner to come out to look at my front wall interior leakage. He spent more than half of the time talking about non related stories. He sound like he knows what he was doing but when he actually look at the exterior wall, he can't find the cause for leakage. I was charged $75.00 for the visit and was told that the company will get back with the qoute for fixing the problem. 4 weeks later, still crickets. No reply to email or anything. I would stay away from this company as far as posible.

John DelVecchio: J Trent & Associates installed a new roof due to hail storm damage. The work was top notch (no nail guns), done very efficiently and clean up was thorough. A lifetime warranty on material and labor is provided, and Trent explained the process (before, during, and after) that made it easy for me the homeowner and gave me peace of mind. There are days I look up and admire the roof, and am assured knowing in the unlikely event there is a problem, there is a lifetime warranty. I highly recommend J Trent & Associates.

Tracy Medlin: Total roof replacement from hailstorm damage. They were all very professional and efficient. They provided me with a list of things I needed to do to get ready for their presence; moving cars, etc. They delivered materials late in the afternoon the day before. They started early and completed the job in one day. Satellite dish was down and back up before the 6:00 news. Cleanup was very thorough. I have a lifetime warranty on materials AND labor, and if I sell, I can transfer warranty to new owner. I NEVER have to worry about a roof again! These guys were GREAT!! It is rare to find the hands-on care that Trent and his crew provided during this job. My previous roof was a premium grade roof. Trent was able to get me a higher reimbursement from insurance and get copper flashing (like I had before) and heavy-duty vent caps. Rob McCuiston: J Trent and Associates did a great job on my roof replacement. We had a big hail storm in May of 2019 and within hours, the "storm chaser" roofing companies were knocking on the door. A couple of my neighbors went that route, and while I listened to 1 or 2 pitches, I was not impressed. All they talked about is that "I can get a free roof!" Nothing about quality, workmanship, etc. Plus I wanted a local company and a licensed general contractor. I contacted J.Trent and the very "hands on" owner personally came by and examined my roof, explaining his process, and most importantly to me, how they would HAND NAIL my new roof. I had researched that before contacting him, and that was what I wanted; (rare these days). He was there when the insurance company claims rep showed up, and while they agreed to replace my roof, it was on the minimal basis. J.Trent actually contacted the insurance company on my behalf and got a new skylight, new edge flashing all around, a new power vent and upgraded, thicker shingles added to my claim and at no additional cost to me. Kevin Huges: This happened to me a couple of months ago and I just kept thinking that people should know about this experience. I had recently had my house power washed by a power washing company and it did not come out great. I have vinyl siding and there was some streaks in the siding that looked terrible. I contacted Trent and he came out to my house and explained to me that the siding was ruined and that it needed to be completely replaced. I was floored by the response so I began to call other companies to come out and look at my siding, none of which gave me this information. At the very most, the other companies gave me ways to fix the issue without replacement. So armed with my newly found information I called back the company that originally washed the house, they graciously came back out and rewashed the house and it looks fabulous. Nothing was wrong just some dirt had not been rinsed off very well. So Trent never did any work for me but the information I received from this professional was very misleading and the fact that he would just throw another contractor so easily under the bus to make himself look good bothered me as well.

Logan: We are just finishing up a home renovation project with Chuck and his team. Andrew Turnbull: Without reservation, I recommend Paradise Found for remodeling and renovations. Jeff was very easy to work with through out our project (addition). He designed the project (with all our specifications and requirements) just as we conceived it. We wanted an independent living area attached to our ranch house, which was built in 1965. People have commented that the completed addition looks like our original house, rather than looking like an addition. This was important to him in his design process. Because we imagined this new space as one in which we can "age in place," we included large doors and bathrooms to accommodate common aging issues. Jeff possessed the expertise to accomplish this goal for us. As a result, my daughter's family now resides in our original house, while we live in the new space. This proximity allows us to babysit our grandchildren, and for my daughter and her husband to look in on us in the future. Jeff's contract was straightforward and easy to understand, and allowed us to maintain our tight budget. There were no "surprises." He was very honest and up front about issues that might have exceeded our budget, and helped trim these areas without sacrificing quality. He an excellent relationship with his team of builders. Jeff was very "hands," and was present at the work site many times each week. He was always quickly responsive in answering any questions or concerns that arose. Unlike some local building projects, the construction timeline was maintained. Although we have been occupying our new space for a few months now, I still feel I can call him if something comes up and he will attend to it. We love our space; it is exactly what we wanted, and we kept within our planned budget.

Robert Rounds: Good alternative to fast foods. Bowls and pita wraps done with ala carte ingredients. Unique soft drinks. Be prepared to make your choices from menus before stepping up. Tasty fare but, choose wisely or things can get messy.

Greg Myhra: My wife and I chose Paradise Found after interviewing several local Design-Build firms. We were initially most impressed with the way Jeff handled all aspects of the preliminary quote and design phase. We could tell that he actually listened and put our thoughts, budget and design preferences into a cohesive plan.We hired Paradise Found to give our 1964 brick ranch home the master bedroom and bath addition it so desperately needed. Jeff was there every step of the way, be it suggesting - but never demanding that we use - various sources for fixtures and fittings, to finding ways to fit our budget while still providing an amazingly livable new space. He will be as involved as you need him to be; we considered him more of a partner in the process as opposed to somebody we hired to complete a project - he takes everything very personally in what he provides his clients. Of note, his choices for plumbing, electrical and tile subcontractors were all perfect, as was his hardwood flooring carpenter - they all shared his commitment for quality and craftsmanship.Were there hiccups? Of course there were - you cannot expect any project of this size to be issue-free. What we feel separated Jeff and Luke from many other firms is the speed, attentiveness and flexibility they showed when issues came up with some of the subcontractors, or a given supplier changed course. All issues were dealt with quickly and decisively. That was key: to keep production steadily moving forward.We now have a beautifully updated true master bedroom and bath, complete with large walk-in closet. Anyone who has ever lived in a '60s era home knows all too well how small the dimensions were, especially on bathrooms and closet space. Paradise Found was able to not only increase the footprint of that living space, but did it with an eye towards ensuring it blend in with the existing exterior, and an equally wary eye on making the space as green and economical for future enjoyment as possible.

We hired them to completely update our home in Cary including our kitchen, master bath, flooring, windows, siding, and roof. They were prompt, considerate and respectful of our schedule, and treated our home and our family, pets, and belongings with the same care that we do. Jeff and his team paid attention to every small detail, many that we wouldn’t have noticed. And when we wanted to add something on to the project, that was never a problem.We wouldn’t consider any other company than Paradise Found Construction for our future home improvement needs and our planned new custom home.

He held our hands on some of the hard parts, like choosing the right materials for our needs and our budget. The entire process moved on schedule, and although they did a lot of the work themselves, when subcontractors were needed, either Jeff or Luke was always at our house to get them started. There were a couple of issues, but all were resolved. It was a near painless project, and follow up was excellent. This group excels at communication. We love our new bathroom!

Laura Simpson: Jeff was the general contractor on my bathroom renovation. He was wonderful to work with communicating the steps involved and arranging electrical, HVAC, plumbing, tile and paint subcontractors. I only had a problem with the paint subcontractors not showing up on time once - Jeff was on them like glue. After I paid him, we had two part problems (a faulty valve) and a heated floor thermostat. Neither were his fault, but was very much on top of sending out the right people to fix the parts (and order new ones). Anyone who is on top of things after being paid in full is someone I want to work with again. I would not hesitate to recommend him. His quote was the highest of the two other contractors we got bids for but we had a good feeling that he would be the most professional and we also felt like he did the most thorough estimate and that if we had gone with one of the other two, their price might had crept up as "surprises" always happen in big renovations. Jeff's price did not go up once we started.

Robin Thomas: After deciding we would stay in our home of 19 years, we met with Mr. Wiblitzhouser to outline our interest in an extensive combination of needed repairs, updating and upgrading several living spaces, and lowering energy and water use for our house. He responded with an excellent, cost -effective, and often innovative plan for renovating a 40+ year-old house built during an era without much thought for efficiency.The demolition phase was done with care, preserving many components for re-use and recycling whenever possible. A new roof was installed and almost all exterior trim was replaced and restored to the original design. New hardwood floors were installed in the kitchen and powder room, and new tile in the laundry. The kitchen was thoroughly renovated, with new cabinets, granite counters, backsplash, and plumbing. Mr. Wiblitzhouser worked with us to incorporate art tile features from a Raleigh artist. The downstairs powder room and family room was completely renovated as well, including adding a new window and stone veneer for the existing brick fireplace. All downstairs floors were refinished, crown molding was installed throughout, new French doors were added for the living room, and new lighting fixtures were added throughout. One of the best parts of the renovation was turning a dated screen porch into a beautiful 3-season room. Mr. Wiblitzhouser provided an innovative design with PGT sliding windows above fixed glass windows, new pine flooring, and a beaded ceiling with decorative molding pattern.Just as important as updating the living areas, Paradise Found Construction did an excellent job increasing our energy efficiency and reducing water use. One of our favorite renovations was turning our single whole-house HVAC system into a dual zone system (upstairs/downstairs). This is the first time we were able to make the upstairs comfortable in the summer. A direct-vent gas fireplace insert was added for efficiency and comfort. All of the old original plumbing fixtures were replaced with Water-Sense rated faucets and 1-gallon per flush toilets. An efficient on-demand water heater replaced the old and inefficient electric heater.In all stages of the renovation, Mr. Wiblitzhouser worked well in managing the various sub-contractor crews, and he worked well with us to implement our design ideas and selection of components and fixtures. On several occasions he went with us to plumbing, kitchen, and tile stores to help guide our selections. He did an outstanding job in keeping us constantly informed about schedules, costs, and any issues that arose, and he provided outstanding advice regarding changes as the project proceeded. Most of all, Mr. Wiblitzhouser paid attention to every detail, from paint to molding to all aspects of construction to make sure the work was done correctly and to the highest quality. On many occasions, he worked with sub-contractors to bring their final work up to his standards, and he spent considerable time himself in working on final finishing work.Following the renovation, the house looks beautiful inside and out. For us, it is like living in a new home. With the upgraded 3-season room, we feel like we added new space to the house, and we now have our home open to the 3-season room on most days. Mr. Wiblitzhouser was able to implement everything we wanted and guided us on things the house needed. With the increases in energy and water efficiencies, we anticipate substantially lower utility bills in the years to come, while the house will feel more comfortable year-around. These features will also reduce our contributions of greenhouse gasses, which is important to us. We very much appreciated the use of low-VOC paints, finishes, and materials and the re-use and recycling of as much material as possible during the renovation.As very pleased owners and occupants of this excellently renovated home, my husband and I strongly recommend Paradise Found Construction for your remodeling needs.
