I've have left multiple VM's without a response or action. I'm sure if I called to buy something, they'd be all over it. Please fix or replace my spa.

My husband called and ordered the cover (we thought) and was told it would be six to eight weeks but he would check to see if there was one in the warehouse. We called this week to check on the cover b/c it's been 5 weeks. We were told by the same salesman that he is going to order the cover now since he couldn't find one. We will have it in 6-8 weeks! This is absurd! We should already have the cover. I was very disappointed.

I had an equipment warranty issue which was very difficult for several different reasons and involved many different interested parties. ASB spent a LOT of time working through all of it on my behalf and crafted an incredibly fair solution. They really do care about the customer (I can't think of the last time I said that). I'm impressed to the point that I'm trying to figure out what else I can buy from them!

Dylan Taylor: I purchased a new Hot Springs Highlife Aria Spa from Atlantic last year and it finally arrived after 9 months of waiting. The in-person sales consultation and delivery were great, and they were able to place it exactly where I wanted it with ease. I did have an issue with a change order not being entered into their computer and they made it right, replacing the selections I changed after delivery - better stairs and ozonator instead of salt system. I also had no issue getting them to agree to replace a corner that was cracked at time of delivery, although I'm still waiting on that one. I do wish they gave me some sort of start-up tutorial for the chemistry when it was delivered as well as a run-down of maintenance I have to do - what needs added or cleaned and when to do so, as that's been rather intimidating and tricky to get right for a first time owner, but they have been answering my questions on it when I call in and speak to their sales reps. I'm loving the Aria, it's a very high quality product, and I'd recommend the Hot Springs spas to anyone looking at buying a hot tub.

Jennifer Miller: So happy with the entire experience! I’ve been researching spas off and on for years. Tried to find a knowledgeable sales rep locally (I’m in Greenville) to no avail. Johnna at Epic Hot Tubs was awesome! She asked all the right questions, and the very first one she had me climb into on the showroom floor was a perfect fit! Just to be sure, I tried several others. But nope, she nailed it on the first try. Delivery was included…to the actual spot! Not just in your driveway like some others. Any problems or issues were addressed, and Johnna walked me through the startup chemical process. If you’re ready to make the investment, can’t recommend Johnna and Epic more!

We purchased a new Wellis Monte Rosa Spa from Chesapeake VA that was delivered this past Thursday without installation.The hot tub does not work so I started calling random places, she was more helpful than the place we purchased it from and did not make it seem like it was my fault. She talked us through a few things and even had a technician call us who confirmed that we had the correct power voltage from the house to the disconnect to the tub and that the fuses weren’t blown.Hopefully the place here sends out technician on Monday and it’s something easy so we can finally enjoy our Wellis Spa that we waited three weeks for.She went well above and beyond for a place I didn’t even purchase the tub from. If you live near or in Raleigh, that is the only place you should go.

Scott Bower: Manny went above and beyond on the service side after the purchase of our hot tub. Our first spa had a leak which Manny tried to fix but was unable. The second spa also had a leak in the same area. This was obviously a manufacturing issue and had nothing to do with CBS. Manny gave us the option to replace the second spa with what were obvious upgrades to our original purchase. Spa 3 seems to be working just fine and we love it. Manny was always reachable and never hesitated to come out to the house to try and solve the problem. Keep service in mind when thinking about purchasing a hot tub online at a lower cost. Manny personally gets 6 stars. Consider CBS if you're in the market for a spa/hot tub.
Ray: This is the best place to get a hot tub! Great prices and free delivery plus great warranties. Swim spas are a great substitute for expensive pools
Kathie Brady: Love my swim spa. I expected the Como 45 to have the Swim program, which allows you to program a swim with various intensity levels and swim times. Although the Gecko control panel supports that option, it is not standard on this model. As is, the Como 45 allows you to control the intensity, but turns off every 20 minutes. This is sufficient to allow me to swim. I just turn the pumps back on every 20 minutes.Customer Backyard Spaces (CBS) has worked wtih Gecko (who make the spa controllers) and Everest (who make the spa), to understand what is required to upgrade my spa to have the Swim program. End the end, we decided that the cost and effort was not warranted. CBS does offer a different Swim Spa that provides this functionality. I really appreciate that CBS has made an effort to offer an upgrade.

Drew Sturgell: Everyone at Custom Backyard Spaces is amazing! We had purchased the Caspian Sea, shortly after they originally opened and faced some delays on the deck we were building to support it. They were so accommodating and held the tub for us until the deck was ready. After the delivery, we had a small leak from one of the air diverters and Manny came out the next morning to fix it. While he was here, he was very helpful. He answered all of my questions and even walked me through the basics of water maintenance. I would 100% recommend buying a hot tub from Custom Backyard Spaces because not only were the prices great but the post-sale service was exceptional as well!-Drew

Choice Pool & Spa: what do users think?
Conrad Rensburg: Bought a 12K Four Winds spa from Choice Pool and Spa in 2020. Called them to purchase new pillows for my headrests. Was told they no longer make pillows that fit this type of spa. The newest pillows are too long and I should simply tear the one receptacle out of the pillow and silicone it to the tub!!! NICE ....... you spend 12k on a tub and then get told we no longer have replacement parts for it and they offer no apology and cannot understand why I am unhappy. Probably not a good idea to purchase this brand of spa if they cannot support it.
K Spangler: I just got my swim spa delivered yesterday. I asked more than one time prior to delivery about the start up process and was told that when it is delivered they would send a chemical care package and walk me through the process. I did receive the chemicals; however, no one walked me through the process. Choice told me today that they can not help me because they have customers in the store. I responded, “I am a customer.” Scott referred me to the manufacturer website and to download the 55 page owners manual. I will figure it out on my own, but here is my review. Choice is super nice, wonderful to make a sale, and happy to take your money…but once they get your money, you are on your own! You become old news and the folks shopping become priority to Choice. There are a multitude of places to purchase from. Choice dropped the ball on this one. Do not recommend due to lack of follow through. Thumbs down when I needed them the most!!!

LuAnn Polk: We purchased a small plunge pool from them and it looks great, is beautiful and is fun to use. The customer service provided by the company was outstanding. We worked very closely with Scott who provided us with information to hire an electrician and fencing vendor. We used both and are glad that we did. Everyone at Choice Pools was friendly and helpful.
Will Neese: Professionals that know their stuff plus they won't up sell just to roll you over. These guys know what they're doing and will help you out honestly. Will definitely come back for all my needs and potentially spend a ton more money when I'm ready.

Lisa Guidry: Purchase spa Sept 2021 received with side panel missing.I accepted the spa anyways as they told me they would order the missing panel. Well 8 months later still no panel . Have been emailing back and forth with all the excuses in the world. Well told I spoke to Mr Lawler who is suppose to be the owner and he has no solution for me except to wait for the piece that is coming from Hungary. When I said I should have never accepted the spa he said no you should not have. Well that was nice to hear, then asked how is this my problem and he replied how is it his? You would think after spending all those funds he would have better customer service. Please be aware to refuse anything that is not fully intact when you order from him! Guess it is now it’s legal action and better business bureau … what a nightmare this has been….

She has been the best sales person you could ever want. As far as the Wellis spa goes - it is awesome. I purchased the one with lights / sound system / and many jets. I am in the tub every chance I get. Belle B: I can’t post enough bad things about this place. I recently purchased a swim spa from here and it has been nothing but issues. Please research before you buy is all I can say. I wish I had gone elsewhere for sure. When I purchased my pool from backyard leisure everything was included. Everything. With this spa I had to have someone poor a concrete slab, hire a concrete truck for the concrete, Hire an electrician to wire it, hire a crane to install it. All they did is deliver a 2,000lb spa to my doorstep. The guys they sent to deliver and install it acted like it was the first time they ever did it. The crane guys did more work than them to get it in place. As it was being installed they are harassing me for payment the entire day it was being installed. I mean literally while it was in the air on a crane being put in, they were calling me nonstop. Then when the spa didn’t work as it should I called them and told them what was going on and after two days of them trying to “recreate” the issues in the store model for the two days, they couldn’t and set up an appointment for 5 more days out. Which my spa had to sit there with water filled and no filtration going. Now when you buy something, this expensive especially, you expect someone to come out and show you how it works, at least I did. If that had happened the issue could have been found earlier and avoided most of the issues we were having with it. The “set up” or “installation” as they call it was 3 guys wiping it down and putting fixtures on. Not one of them knew how the spa worked or how we should start it or run it. They gave us a pamphlet from the manufacturer, which was just a basic spa, not even our own type of spa. Which if it was the electrical probably came from the electrician not having the pamphlet for our own specific type of spa. Which leaves me to the big issue. After the repair guy came out the 5 days later and fixed the issue, they claimed it was the electrician that wired it wrong. So then they called me and wanted me to pay a service fee because it was not the spas issue itself or send the bill to the electrician. Which I’m still not convinced of because the spa still shuts off almost immediately after starting it and sometimes randomly and won’t respond to the app installed in it. And I was never told there even could be a service charge if the issue was not with the spa itself. Otherwise I would have went through the warranty or my homeowners insurance to avoid the charge, which there is no service call for either. I’m appalled that a company would treat their customers this way. I would never purchase anything from this company again and wished I hadn’t this time. It’s made it incredibly hard to even enjoy the purchase.
John B: I came here because I needed my pool water tested only to be informed that they discontinued this service starting this season. When the word POOL is in your name I feel that support for POOL owners is part of the deal. I was greeted and the person I spoke to was friendly. The name is... not helpful when you sell at face value grills, and hot tubs. IDK if they sell pools as well. You will have to see for yourself.

There was a minor problem with my LED lights and they came out the same day to fix it.We have been in it almost every day since Christmas and have had no problems and we are enjoying it immensely.If you are considering a hard tub or swim spa do yourself a favor and go see Johnna at choice Pool and spa now!

Randy Johnson: Worst customer service I have ever seen bought an $8000 spa that has never worked properly since day one. called dozens of times to request service to have them send me parts to do repairs myself. they sent me several ozone generators which didn't fix the problem every time I call they apologize that they somehow forgot about me 4 years later still haven't seen a technician yet. Spend your. Money elsewhere they will not live up to the big promises they give to sell a spa.
Gonzalo Fernandez: I struggled as to whether or not to write this review, but here goes. Up until last week, I have been a very happy repeat customer. I bought my first spa from Choice Pool about 17 years ago back when they were next to the babies-r-us in Raleigh, met the owner and had a great experience.We bought our second one when we moved 14 years ago. We've had our spas serviced by them as well. Price, selection, service has always been great. We've even referred neighbors who also bought a spa from them.A month ago, we decided to look at upgrading our spa. Apparently everyone else during this pandemic has had the same thought, as inventory is very scarce. I priced out a spa from a brand they carried, and was quoted $13,500, firm. Ok, great. Having no idea if this was a good price, and I like to be an educated consumer, I called around to a few other dealers who carried the same line and model, and was dismayed when they quoted me a much lower price, anywhere from $9200 to $9600, all with the same cover, chemicals, etc. Same spa model, same extras that came with the deal.When I called Choice Pool and Spa back about 10 days later, I was now quoted over $18,000 for the same spa. So that's double the regular price and a $5000 jump in less than 2 weeks. I confirmed again the price, make and model, thinking I had made a mistake. When I questioned the woman why the price had jumped so much, I was told "With coronavirus, inventory is scarce and you can throw MSRP out the window".And this is why I'm writing this review. Look, I understand times are tight right now, but is fleecing the customer, especially repeat customers, really the best business strategy? I understand a small markup, but $9000 markup on a $9000 spa? That's crazy. It is absolutely their right to charge whatever they want, no argument here. But it is also my right to go somewhere else to make my purchase. In some businesses, like gas stations, this would be illegal.Not sure if the original owner is still involved, or if he has sold out and this is from new management. Anyway, have been very happy with them until now, and sad to have had this happen.
