C.L.: Been under construction for at least 5 years now. It has been driving local residents insane and to think, when it is all done, it will be nowhere near as beautiful as it once was. What a shame what Cary leadership has done to the downtown area. I guess in the name of progress, we must tear down trees and build large concrete structures. If the construction is ever complete, I will fairly reevaluate at that time.

D R: Attended music event sponsored by Cary with food trucks, cider company and brewery vendor. Warm temp., clear sky with close to full moon and nice lawn. Foosball, bocce ball, ping pong, checker games available. Closed until summer 2023. Construction progressing in early 2023.

Kendall Magesh-Davis: Great little park, lots of trees to keep it shaded. There are several distinct play areas to help separate the different age groups of kids.There are multiple areas for sand play and even a misting area. Enough to get the kids properly messy. 😁It's also right on the Greenway, which is convenient.Parking can be a little tight on the weekend but you can usually find someone heading out.There's even a pavilion you can rent for parties with bathrooms attached.I'm not sure what the maintenance schedule is like, the park was quite wet and messy from yesterday's rain.Playground: There are several distinct playgrounds for different age groupsRestrooms: There are restrooms attached to the pavilionPicnic area: In addition to the pavilion there are plenty of benches, some picnic tables, and curbs to sit on for picnics.

Elizabeth M: This is such a great park! There’s a variety of play areas suitable for different ages and stages. Big kids and little kids, including toddlers can play here. There’s a large sandbox area and an open space with a dragon structure that the kids can climb on. Most of the park is shaded. It was pretty busy when we were there on a Sunday afternoon, but there was still plenty of space.

Arvin Gonzalez: I am into getting my 10,000 steps. Came here to get 20 min walk. Park had a nice walking view. Kids play ground look enjoyable. Has a tennis court and basketball court.
Jenny Patterson: Great little urban park. Short trails with benches and tables for a lunch break. Or playgrounds and pickleball/basketball courts for more active play.

Walnut Street Park is no exception, and the walking trails come with beautiful nature scenic views, and loved by all dog's, and dog lovers. The grounds are large, and a good thought for picnic's. The playground is a Children's place of safety, and imagination, as well happiness for all adult watchers!! The park is an excellent respite spot, with a lot of space for privacy. Personally, I am grateful for the Large Filtered water fountain', and 4 fountain's it is!! The Liter bottle-sized fountain is appreciated for water bottle refill's, and two fountain's for drinking are available. The Best is the doggie water bowl fountain for thirsty times after dog walks. Come on by!!Restrooms: The restrooms are clean, and spacious! Hand soap is available, along with a wall button push dryer! During the cold weather, I extremely love the heat provided!

Bill Albing: We keep a community garden plot there, which is really great for growing our own vegetables. Town of Cary picks gardeners by lottery. Rest of park is very kid-friendly, too. A little pond has a path around it. Playground, too.
Parijat Malla: It has a nice pond for quick walk around it. Nice play area for kids and new piano addition is great.

There are flower beds, squirrels, birds and trees.It was nice to take some pizza and drink and sit on the bench and just be outside.It's very small with maybe parking around the entire perimeter for a dozen cars.

Brianna Marcus: We love this park and go frequently. It's right between our house and downtown Cary. I don't like that it's street-side, but it's fairly far back from Chatham. People in the surrounding neighborhood send their kids to play there unsupervised and those kids can be jerks.

KC Gaming: Its a nice place to walk around but theres a creek right directly in the middle of it so it's not the sort of park you play sports at. Although it does have a basketball hoop which is nice. You have to play in the street. It's a neighborhood and a very nice one. Tiny but nice.

aaron hart: Its got no benches. No paths. There is a river that runs through it and there is a small bridge over the river. Hardly noticeable as a park. But it is rather pretty.
Josh Price: I love this little park. There's nothing here but a grassy area and a creek, but it's great for walking a dog around or playing catch with the kids. I also like to setup my disc golf practice target there and play around.

Eve Shoemaker: This is not really a park. It's a strip of grass with a bridge over a tiny stream and a bench. Not bug or flat enough to really do anything with and its surrounded by residential streets so it's not safe for kids or pets to play. It is connected to a Greenway.
