Historic Yates Mill County Park: what do users think?
Kathleen L McCauley: A fun place to spend some time.Restrooms: Are clean. Very nice.Dog-friendliness: I’ve only seen signs that no digs allowed. Would be awesome place to go walking if I could bring my little Yorkie friend.
Jessy Hauschild: The people at Yates Mill were very kind to me and my summer camp group. They were patient and taught all of us a lot of cool information about animals, insects and habitats. Thank you Ms Laura and Mr Andrew for an amazing time! ❤️
Lisa Giloti Kopp: Great place to make a quick stop. Beautiful location and tons of great information.
Ivelisse Gonzalez: Beautiful
Chanchal: Attractive spots for photographers, however there is a board which says professional photographers are required to take permission. Great historic park, well maintained. This park has lovely board bridges, small and long trails in nature, birds, mammals, snakes, historic mill, small waterfall, a pond, picnic benches and classroom in the nature, mill overlook, log cabin. Plenty of parking, restrooms, maps are available at the entrance. Be careful while walking we spotted snakes.Restrooms: Well maintained and at the entrance of the park.Dog-friendliness: It seems it is not a dog friendly park.Picnic area: Many picnic benches are available at many places of this historic park.
Ally Klein: Great park with beautiful scenery and walking trails
John M. Conroy: Great park for a short hike to see the historic 18th century mill. The tour is excellent and allows you to learn about the mill's history and how it works. It still produces corn meal, which is demonstrated once a month.
Ying Wang: We love that there are 3 trails and at different difficult levels and although it's near water, not many bugs. Nice educational center/museum with exhibition of mill related artifacts and hands on activities. Saw a few skinks and many turtles. There is an area with tons of blackberry bushes lining up the board walk. We saw a squirrel sleeping up high on a tree branch. Beautiful weather with nice breeze. We are definitely coming back.Restrooms: Restrooms are inside the museum, south of the parking lotDog-friendliness: No pets allowedPicnic area: There are a couple picnic tables leading to the mill from the parking lot, as well as on the board walks.
Melinda Clark: I visited the Historic Yates Mill County Park while on vacation in North Caroline, and I LOVE this beautiful park.My favorite spot was on the boardwalk out back near the rocking chairs, there's a small isolated dock. I could sit there all day... until dark. The mill is incredible. The walking path worth doing!I enjoyed soaking up the nature/habitat of this region. Thank you!I can HIGHLY RECOMMENDRestrooms: Restrooms have entrance outside as well as a door in/out of the museum itself.
Gina Jordan: Beautiful. We especially LOVE the rule of NO dogs…..Yay!!! No dogs pushing us off the trails. No dog $hit on the trails…..sooooo nice. No barking and craziness. Thank you thank you thank you.
Kat: Lovely place to walk and there’s even a patch of grass to walk barefoot, confident there will be no doggie do. Serene place. This is an official wildlife sanctuary and there are now signs near the entrance that prohibit dogs for obvious reasons. To get to the mill, go straight away to the left of the parking lot. To enjoy a hike in the woods, go to the right. I recommend the Creekside trail for 5+ year olds, unless your child cannot resist the mud! There are wooden planks to walk on. For a real adventure do this trail and follow it with the High Ridge trail. This trail will take you to the Millpond Trail, which is your flat and easy walk. Both the High Ridge and the Millpond trails lead you to Yates Mill itself where the sound of the waterfall soothes your soul. There are picnic tables and educational center with bathrooms. The trails are all natural but the boardwalk is a smooth surface for strollers. The park is equipped with plenty of trash bins and such, so please respect nature and keep it clean. Enjoy!
coco rich: Short trail but very nice for a quick walk....the history center inside has good info..Restrooms: Were cleanPicnic area: Alot of areas
Tracy and Ryan: PEACEFUL! What a wonderful, clean & quiet park to stroll through after a long work day. The wind rustling through the trees, the sun on our faces & the little turtles on the log. *HAPPY SIGH* Who's ready for a nap?Dog-friendliness: No dogs allowed SIGN
Christopher Boyce: Unique park focused on historic and ecological preservation. Well worth a visit to learn about the mill, let your kids play in the stream, walk the trails, and take in the beautiful views. Just leave your dog and fishing poll at home. I brought both and neither are permitted here.
Nicolas Kressmann: Great place to walk and have a picnic. Only downside is that no dogs or bicycles are allowed.
Irina *****: Beautiful park , and interesting history about mill. You can have indoor tours just for 5$, it helps to keep it and maintain the mill and territory
charles carter: Beautiful with a trail around the mill pond and another through surrounding hills.
Jamie Lynn: I loved this place! We were visiting from NJ, and this is a perfect little hike for anyone... intermediate to moderate... there are a few different trails and so much to see! They are rebuilding the bridge, so you cannot access that part, however it didn't matter because you get to literally enjoy nature all around you! This is a must do for anyone visiting !
Giang Nguyen: Nice park to walk around
FriedChicken: Great job from Wake county to redeveloped the old mill to a park for everyone to learn and enjoy. It is not far from downtown and it is free. The pond is to feed the mill so it is not as big as other park around the city.Trail is very easy to navigate and only takes about an hour to loop around the pond or west side of the pond.

Aqua North Carolina: what do users think?
James D'Urso: This has to be the worst water company in North Carolina. It took them over a week and multiple calls per day to even get an update on setting up my water which caused a delay to my move in date. Every month over 75% of the cost of water comes from their “customer charge” which is a scam to just get money out of people. Do not recommend to anyone if you have an option.
mbeach736: I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Claimed there was a meter issue and when they reset it are back charging me $350 claiming my meter was giving a 0 consumption notice. This is untrue as I have been receiving bills from them every month of varying rates. Shady at best.
Sarah Benson: Terrible customer service. Frequent outages and 72-hour boil advisories with BLACK water coming out of faucet. This happens at least 4 times a year, sometimes more often. Also, I don't always get the notifications for boil advisories. It is inconsistent. Thank goodness we have both of our numbers on the list so at least one of us is notified. It is awful, but we have no other choice.
Bethany Offenbacher: Water always tastes weird. We have multiple filters. Water out constantly due to main breaks etc and we are receiving letters monthly with boil advisories. It’s awful. I hate that a for profit company is allowed to mess with water.
Katie Satterfield: Cuts off water and doesn’t even give a heads up. I work in health care and came home with all kinds of nasty and couldn’t even take a shower at 5pm. It’s going on 8pm and when I called they can’t tell me anything about that’s going on. I have small kids. To say this is an inconvenience is putting it nicely. I hate this company
Kenya Swinson: If I could give less than one star I would. I just moved into a new place this is the water company for the new place. I sent my paper work in over 48 hours and I still have no water. I called and they’re telling me the reason why I have no water is because there’s a balance due for the address, something that doesn’t belong to me or have anything to do with me. I moved in on the 17th of March it’s the 22nd and I still have no water because they need to process information that they were given at 10:52 Monday morning it’s Wednesday I have no water and I’m very annoyed
Jessica Gray: Hopefully when you call in, you don’t get Barbra! She was not very nice. Conveniently, I got got “disconnected” when talking to her.. The next lady I talked to was much more friendly! I also really dislike Aqua as a whole. On top of their poor customer service, their water quality is REALLY bad.. You can look up the information yourself online. But what are we to do? Make sure you use a really good filter!
Lillian Smithson: Johnathan Lucas I want to give you a shout out. Thank you for stopping by and informing me that my water was about to be turned off. I appreciate your professionalism and your patience why I called immediately to pay my bill. You rock Johnathan.Lillian Smithson
nadeana brown: AQUA and the no good thugs who run the company can kick boulders barefooted! Water smells disgusting, still having to come out the pocket for a filter and sometimes water bottles. But my bill is $800? If there is a lawsuit please sign me up. I'll be there!
Brezinski Douglas: When I was with Davidson water I had no problems paying online was able to use my debt card. With aqua you can’t. You gotta put your account and routing number on line. Sorry this is 2022 going on 2023 hardly no one uses checks. You gotta pay a convenient fee when paying over the phone. Wish Davidson water was my second choice because I’ll be switching. Get with the times and put debt card option online.
Robert McManus: If you want anything corrected from Aqua, you have to reach out to the Public Utility Commission because Aqua’s customer service does not care
Brianna McGhee: If I could give them zero stars I would. This water is absolutely DISGUSTING!! I wish they had to pay $150 every other month for additional filters and then try to feed a new born with water that is BROWN. They offer ZERO help. This is the worst company ever. I hope they go under. I would rather drink out of a river than drink this water. I will be contacting local news outlets and blowing this up because any home that is part of this water system should not be built or purchased!! All of your appliances will need to be replaced in-annually. And they don’t care AT ALL. I think I’ll send them a bill for all of their water damages!! These filters are 6 days old!!
Whitney Dean: This place has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced! People are there for no reason bc they provide zero help!! Everything takes 24-48 hours which is really 72-96 hours. I really hate they are the only company who offers water service in my area if I could I would give zero stars!!
AJ: Any time there is even a hint of a storm the water goes out … I’ve never experienced that anywhere but here. Also way overpriced.
Dr Duck: Their meter was broken so they just picked some numbers of usage they state for the past six months and said this would have been the charge, it is 10 times the amount of usual usage.SEE Below (Tim Merrill)If you can dig a well and think you might be in your home for many years, I'd dig a well. They have everything to their advantage as a utility company they can raise rates at their convenience and just prove to the utility commissions they are loosing money and raise rates.DIG A WELL
James Steadman: Water bills are outrageously high. An average of 350/Month. Hey, atleast that includes the toxic PFAs polluting the water of Pittsboro! (LOOK IT UP) Complete disgrace of company.
Larry C: No one knows what is going on in field. Company sends out text messages that are days too late and not relevant. Clowns that answer emergency phones at night should all be fired for complete incompetence. But bottled water.
Charlene Cowell: I'd give a zero if I could. I wish this wasn't the only option available. Our water is constantly coming out brown, causing us to have to flush our lines and waste water (and money). They are awful to work with.
Roy Smith II: This is the worst utility company on the face of the planet, these guys have been consistently digging in our neighborhood in Mooresville for over 10 years. They come in and destroy everything. They’re infrastructure is completely outdated but they are too cheap to do anything about it. It’s a disgrace that this is the only service available to us.
Zayne Humphries: If I could give 0 I would. Customer service was super rude and was no help. The city hooked my neighborhood up to new sewer lines and broke my water line and meter. Aqua had to come out and replace it and took them hours to get here. Then they send me $500 bill and told me to figure it out and that it’s not their problem. I’m more than willing to get this resolved, but it’s not my responsibility to get your money for you when it’s not my problem.
John: Terrible, terrible service. Water pressure is low such that neighbors have to fill 5 gallon pails in anticipation of shortage to flush the toilet bowl and brush teeth and shower. Customer services is totally unresponsive and lack care and empathy and timely response. Do not use this service. Not worthy of 1 star. Currently trying to get Department of Health and Human Services involved to get this fixed once and for all...
