KC Wheeler: So glad I decided to have my hemoroidectomy with Dr. Duberman! I had gotten to the point I was in constant discomfort. I tried banding elsewhere but it didn't improve...perhaps even got a little worse. Finally I couldn't take it anymore, when even standing caused discomfort. Dr. Duberman and his staff were wonderful and the surgery went very well. He even removed a small external hemorrhoid along with my larger internal one that was causing all the problems. I felt great leaving the surgical center, started needing Motrin in the middle of the night following surgery and kept control of my pain with Motrin every 4 hours for the first 10 days. I only felt I needed stronger pain meds once in the first 4 days but just kept with the Motrin and was fine (mainly because I was scared to take the Percocet). I followed instructions carefully following surgery: taking fiber regularly, drinking plenty of water, and using sitz baths twice a day and following bowl movements. I never got constipated (part of my Percocet fear) and only had slight burning with a couple of bowel movements. There was some itching with the healing but nothing compared to the itching and irritation caused by the hemorrhoid. I walked into the office for my post surgical follow up grinning ear to ear! I am so happy I decided to have my hemorrhoid surgically removed. I can stand all day at work now with no problem whatsoever! Going to the bathroom is back to how it was before, with human sized BM's and no constipation. And every time I wipe I am thankful tenfold! The best thing I've ever done for myself!

David Stoltz: Dr. Duberman repaired my colostomy, and was able to do everything laparoscopically. The surgery went as described to me beforehand. I was in fairly severe pain on the day following the surgery, probably because of some adhesions that needed taken care of. However my pain was in the 1-2 range on the day following. Dr. Duberman did not keep me in the hospital longer than necessary, a benefit I am eternally grateful for. The staff at Western Wake were all exemplary, but I am probably not the best patient. My appetite fled and there was not much I could do about that. I am happy to give Dr. Duberman the highest rating.

Mark DiGiacomo: A quack. Avoid this guy.

Douglas Price: I had surgery on my neck with local anesthesia. I did not get numbed up properly and was in unbearable pain through much of the procedure. Finally, after complaining for a long period of time, Dr. Duberman numbed up the area properly. As far as the surgery itself, it was a success, the cyst on my neck was removed and everything healed just fine. However, I had to endure a great deal of unnecessary pain and therefore I would not recommend this doctor.

Praveen Sriram: I have been seeing Dr. Duberman since February 2013 for hemmhroids and other anal issues. He is a very caring/professional doctor and I believe genuinely cares about me. I highly recommend Dr. Duberman and his front end staff are also quite friendly. Hard to believe it has been 5+ years working with him. Hope the practice will be around for many more years to come and great to know that this practice is in network with my insurance. :)

PC9901: He was wonderful at first. When I asked for pain medication, he gave it to me. Then, one day, after asking for a refill, he called me and proceeded to literally SCREAM at me saying that I was the worst patient that he had ever had in his 23 years of practice and that he was sorry that he had ever operated on me. He accused me of selling my pain medication and threatened to turn me in to the police. NONE of this was true. He was constantly screaming, and I mean screaming at me and wouldn't even let me talk or explain anything. When I finally did get a chance to try to explain, he started yelling at me again and said that he didn't believe me. I ended up getting dependent on the pain medication, but didn't realize it until after all this happened. He even gave me two different pain medications at one time. He did question me as to why I wanted two and I explained it to him. I got a staph infection either when I was in the hospital after my surgery or during my surgery. It was diagnosed via a culture approximately 2 weeks later, which is about the incubation time for staph. It constantly drained from my wound. I went to a surgeon in Goldsboro who said that my situation was a mess and that he wouldn't touch me with a 10-foot pole. He then referred me to a hernia specialist in Greenville, who immediately did a CAT scan and said that my mesh was severely infected with staph. Dr. Duberman did my surgery in August, 2014 and I ended up having to have the mesh removed totally in November, 2014 due to the staph infection. I was told numerous times by my doctor in Greenville that I WOULD end up with another hernia, it was just a matter of time. I feel that if Dr. Duberman would have taken the time to do something about it at the time, that I may not have had to go through everything else that I did. Dr. Duberman also had to re-admit me twice, once in Sept. 2014 and once in Oct. 2014 for seroma and abscess drainages and I ended up with a wound vac as well. It was a nightmare situation. He did put me on antibiotics for the staph infection, but they didn't work. After that, he didn't seem to bother with it. I feel that he could have done something more, like maybe a stronger antibiotic or an IV antiobiotic, but he never did. I feel that he should have sat me down in his office and talked to me about the pain medication issue instead of calling me and screaming at me over the phone and saying the nasty things that he did. I've NEVER had a doctor in my life treat me this way and it was VERY unprofessional. To this day, I now have to constantly wear an abdominal binder due to the damage done to my abdominal muscles and if I take it off, I get sick. I am not the type of person to write personal things like this, I am not out to "get him", I just feel that others should be aware of what happened to me and how unprofessional it was of him to accuse me, threaten me and not treat me the way that he should have.

MeMe Smith: I went to this office on two different occasions in both times the wait times were extreme. The first time I went, it took an hour and 45 minutes before I got to see the doctor. Yesterday on my follow up appointment, I left after waiting an hour and 10 minutes to see the doctor. Now I am forced to file a dispute with my bank because I paid my co-pay upfront even though I had not received any services at that point. Because of the wait times there were multiple patients seated in the very small waiting area, which didn’t allow us to practice social distancing even though mask are required.

Which was a waste of since the doctor disregarded my concerns.I called and made an appointment and stated that I’m a new patient and I wanted a consultation. She took my information and scheduled me. During check in the front desk associate stated I’d pay at the end of my visit. It would’ve been helpful and appreciated during booking the appointment I was informed that they charged for consultation fees. I went in a room where someone informed me that I would be actually treated, if I wished. Again being that I’m a new patient, during booking the appointment I should’ve been advised all this information. I then met with the doctor, who I addressed my problem to, how long it was going on for, the discomfort I was having, etc.During the examination, again I addressed the problem I was having. He wasn’t concerned with it (his words) but wanted addressed other issues I wasn’t there for. Since I made it this far in the appointment I agreed. Hey who knows maybe it would fix the issue I came in for (it didn’t.) He stated he wanted to see me for a follow up. I paid the fees and made another appointment. The entire experience was “you’re in and out.” Very disappointed that my doctor recommended an office like this. I left out with the same problems I had coming in and with over $500 less money in my pocket.On follow up day the front desk informed me about paying for this appointment. I was confused since the doctor wanted to see me to ensure the procedure went as he wanted why would I be paying again, it should’ve been included in the prior charges. The front desk stated they charge you every time they see you. At that point I was very disgusted by this office and walked out. This office should be more informational to new patients.

Keith Rudd: Dr Nunoo performed my surgery in November of 2020. I have nothing but good things to say about him, as a surgeon, as a professional, and as a good man. He put me at ease about the surgery during my first visit, when he saw the report from my colonoscopy, and went into great detail on his recommendation of what needed to be done and why. He met with me again not long before my surgery, as I was waiting for the anesthesiologist, where he once again reassured me everything would be okay, and discussed the procedure with my sister, who was with me at the hospital. And, he gave a thorough update to my sister after the surgery was over and I was in the recovery room. After I went home from the hospital, he called me personally on the phone twice, to see how I was doing, before my post op visit to his office to make sure everything looked as it should. And to have had the major surgery that I did, I was surprisingly pain-free much sooner after the surgery than I expected to be. I was thoroughly pleased with Dr Nunoo, and the results of my surgery, and I would gladly use him as my surgeon again, should the need arise.
