Mr. Mike's Used Books: what do users think?
Lynn Canada: So nice to go in a used book store so well organized. And books arranged alphabetically. So you can go with a specific list or just look around and be surprised.Staff consistently pleasant and helpful.Have found numerous books to read.Last visit saw quite a few Outlander and Game of Thrones pb. :)
Rob Morris: Great selection of many subjects. I even sold some books. Much better return if you take store credit!
Maria Reier: Went to sell books, won't go back again. As other reviews state, older female clerk in charge of buying books was not friendly and laughed at me when I asked how long it would take for her to get to my books. At least 20 piles/bags/boxed of books were left all over the floor right at the front door, she told me to put mine in line, no explanation of process or timeframe, I felt like an inconvenience not a customer. I took my books, won't go back I'd rather just donate them.
Alex Luboff: Great selection and a wonderful place to spend some time browsing and perusing every aisle.
M Champ: Decent collection of used books. I'd love to have some seating so I could spend more time, but that is a luxury. If you're a reader, you must check this location out!
Kenneth Freeman: I love this place. I was devastated when Ed McKays closed, but finding Mr. Mike's has been great. I drive all the way from Spring Hope to get there. My experience buying and selling books has been great every time.
Robert de Graaf: Huge selection, with "new" used material coming in all the time.
Leif Kvarnes: Great little bookstore, one of the few in the triangle. Good prices, but somewhat limited selection. About half the store is mystery and romance, but they have a good children's section.
AL Pendergraph: Huge waste of time, i spent over a 60.00 dollars and they only gave me 8.00 for the books they took.
Gnarly Johnny: This is a great store where I have found many good books I didn’t know existed that I loved. Great selection. However, I went in today and it smelled like someone died and it made me walk out not even a minute after walking in. I threw up outside and the smell stuck in my nose for 30 minutes after leaving. Wax melts do wonder's so use those.
Ladystardust04: Love going here. Great selection, fair prices, well organized, and super nice staff. If you’re selling books, come during the week when it’s not busy. They usually take almost everything I bring in to sell and you get a good amount of store credit, but if you want cash it won’t be a lot back. So, just something to consider.
Brittany Francis: This is absolutely the BEST used bookstore in the triangle! I am here multiple times a week, and their inventory changes daily. Prices are fair (on average around $2.99 per book, a bit more for newer books, popular books, or really good condition books, sometimes less for more worn out copies). I feel like I can get a lot for my money, and there is always something new for me to grab because they get new stock in every day. This is in part due to their trade in program; trade in books to get store credit! It is always so busy to trade in your books because a lot of people come by with trades every day, but this also means there are constantly new books! I love this bookstore and highly recommend you give it a try!
Alex Davis: Great used book store! Ive been to almost all in triangle area and this one is one of the bigger ones. They have a ton of books. They don’t have quite as many super popular ones as other stores, but that’s not uncommon when it’s exclusively used. The prices are reasonable. We love to go in and walk out with 5 or 6 books each. We go there every month or so to check it out. Would recommend!
Wayne Johnson: Nice to way to keep books in circulation. But back options are cash or store credit. Good selection of used books to peruse.
Elizabeth Stephenson: Years past, we had sold books here. We didn’t feel ripped off and all was well.In the past few weeks, we took in two big loads of good books, and got embarrassingly low prices. We won’t ever buy or sell here, again.Quality down the toilet. What a shame.
Tree: Nice selection of books. Well organized and reasonably priced
Cornelis J van Dijk: Found a great book, will be back
Julie Martha: I just left here for the first time! I think it’s a really nice store. The associate working was very friendly. There’s a decent selection of books, they’re organized properly, and the store is clean. I’ll definitely go back for more books.
jessica brown: This is a great used book store. I’ve always found that they have an awesome selection and great prices. I recently sold books for the first time and it was so easy, and the amount they give you in store credit is very fair. I will definitely continue to come here regularly.
Cassie Bedwell: The prices are tremendous and they have always had books I want every time I've gone. It's so exciting browsing the shelves in search of treasures! They have a great selection of classics!
Martha O: Nice shop with a good selection at a reasonable price. Didn't find what I was looking for, but found something to buy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will stop by again when in the area (I don't live close at all)

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?
Karla Santana: It’s a great place to go after school. Pricy, but good.
Arvin Gonzalez: Store is moving. Right now they have 75% on all books.
Sara Noor: It is relocating
John Keilman: This location is moving; The store was only about 2/3 full of books.
MARIA Cubillos: Is closing, relocating to Kildare farm road, we couldn't find any good books on sale
S: Really enjoyed visiting again. Enjoyed their book selection and the sales they have going on. Great having a coffee while there, too. Their cookies were awesome. Loved the salted caramel one.
Fawn Gibbs: Absolutely love this store! I am ready to visit their new location!
Olya Scott: No better bookstore than B&N. We have always loved this book store. Has every kind of book you could possibly ever want and read. Even for the picky type of book reader (me). But in the end, I always find the one or two books I want. Everyone that works there on any given day is helpful and sweet.
pegi gg: Large B and N with plenty of browsing room. Nice seating area for reading and a cafe area for coffee and snacks. Very well kept. Everything on sale moving soon to Kildare
Caitlin C. Coillberg: Employees were kind, helpful, patient, and welcoming! Not sure why store is moving but hope they are keeping on all their fabulous employees.
Amy Farnsworth: Some of the furniture was torn in the store.
Charles Fayad: Its closing
Eliza Hall: Love it!!
Andres Xelhua Jr.: Weeaboo paradise. Don't come here after 3pm unless you wanna find high school weirdos. I don't like reading. I'm not dumb.
Brian Davis: Both the art and medical book sections were lackluster, in my opinion. Most of the seating was in a state of severe disrepair as well.
Hannah Katakam: The workers were super kind and the store is organized. Will definitely return.
Tim Hatley: Great selection of books and coffee!
Martin White: Not friendly attitudes
Adrian Johnson: Are you guy’s about to change locations?
Shana Barr: This store must be closing. My husband and I were disappointed in the selection. Not worth the trip.
tanya whitson (Ms. T): Coffee & a Reading Sanctuary. 📚 Everything I need and more! The moment I walked into B&N, it was like a cozy hug. If you are a reader, you understand the feeling of being surrounded by a bunch of books. 📚 However,I didn't buy books, I bought journals, (I decided I wanted to have a set of journals that sit on my bookshelf uniformed like an old set of encyclopedias) Many bookstores are becoming extinct but I'm glad there is still a Barnes & Noble tou can go to, even if it's an hour away.

Wentworth & Leggett Books: what do users think?
Lila Rieber: Same problem as a lot of used bookstores, which is that there's a reason people didn't want these books. A lot of the books are low quality, dated, or not of general interest. Does anyone want a political humor book from 15 years ago? Pretty good selection of classic literature though. I'm giving it four stars because some people might enjoy the used bookstore experience more than I do, but it wasn't for me.
Michelle Sellars: Great little used/rare bookstore with a good collection of ephemera. Employees are friendly and helpful, but not overbearing. Will definitely be returning!
Rashonda Mcgirt: My daughter had been wanting to go to this book store for two weeks, we finally had time and we went in for a look. Immediately we were met by an older lady who was absolutely rude to me and my children. Her exact words to me about my 2yr old was not to allow him/her or whatever to not touch anything. An not to pull anything from the shelf. We left immediately and I told my daughter we do not have to patron places that does not accept us. I am a Durham native and I have never felt uncomfortable in my city till today. Will never return and will let everyone I know not to give them business.
Kevin Stanfa: Underwhelming experience that is hampered by the inability to really pull anything off the shelf without feeling like you are "dirtying" it (anything you touch you have to put in a box so they can clean it). I get the precaution if you were dealing with a lot of rare or antique volumes, but most of what you can touch has already been covered in cellophane and is not that old or antique. Rare or older books are mostly on glass cases. The store had not been cleaned recently so it was fairly dusty actually.
O D: A small bookstore with a wide variety of old and new books. I wish I could have browsed longer...
Michelle Gonzales-Green: Totally analog and a great selection of hard to find titles
Audria Johnson: Elegant bookstore on Main Street in Durham. Located in a beautiful historic building. They said they have been there for 30 plus years. They primarily have used books, rare and unique previously used postcards and posters from everywhere and about everything. Black and white as well as colorful selections. The book store is arranged so that you should find any genre you may be looking for. The staff is very friendly and will show you around the store. They are very knowledge and will give historical references about Durham and other unique features. A very cozy shop I would recommend checking out this bookstore. Prices seem to be very reasonable as well.
Ed McMichael: Nice place, neat stuff, great help from staff person.
Richard Jenkins: Neat little used book store in Brightleaf Square. The guy who runs it used to Work at Bell Labs. Now he writes books about baseball. How do I know this? Because he's very friendly. Give it a shot! You might find something you like.
Beth Belcher: Treasures to read. Old and new.
David Fulton: I was looking for postcards all day. They are tough to find these days. This place had a wide variety and the employees were very helpful. It was refreshing to be walked to the postcards instead of them just pointing in the direction of where they were. Be sure to go there if u need something they have rather than some chain store. I was greated when I walked in and asked if I needed assistance. At first I said no thanks just looking because I wanted to browse. I was left alone until I had that I need help look and then this wonderful lady walked me to the postcards and told me where she would be if I had any questions and walked away. That type of service doesn't happen much anymore. It was nice to know the customer was more important than the conversation she was engaged in prior to me walking in. Once I stepped inside I became their priority. Kudos the them and the owner for the great staff they have
Ben Roberts: What a terrific bookstore! A vast assortment of antique and collectible books, prints, and maps to choose from. That's not to mention local guides, classic novels, and a host of biographies. Great prices and the friendliest of owners. A Durham gem.
Kiersten Hansen: Unusual used book store
Preston Westmoreland: Neat vintage old world bookstore
Brianna McCormick: Great selection
mm ll: Very cool place to shop. Some unique items. Post cards from early 1900 was different. Staff w as especially helpful finding book i bought.
Miranda Stratton: Quaint bookstore with a large selection of books, artwork, puzzles, and vintage items such as maps and postcards. It's worth a visit!
Daniel Chaffin: They have a cool postcard collection. ...I guess I must not be the only one who finds that fascinating.
Ronald Baxter: Yazz the store is warm and cozy you can find great books there the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. In my interaction look for cats to look up my book and let me know that it was a pretty expensive book so they didn't carry it but they could order it. He reminisced with me about the author and thank me for my time absolutely cozy place.
Gail Beeson: Wide selection of new & used books.
Brad Bazemore: Exactly what you want from an eccentric bookstore. Warm & Cozy with a great selection and very reasonable prices.

Reader's Corner Inc: what do users think?
A E: I remember going here when I was in junior high school. I discovered Calvin and Hobbes there. We would go twice a week before picking up my sister at ballet and have fond memories of the place. We’re in a strange culture currently for some reason people want to ban books, but I’ve never known anyone to be damned for reading too much, but rather it is for our lack of reading, careful reading, that we get into trouble and narrow our imagination and lessen our intelligence. Even the worst books are easily remedied by a better book thereafter. In the debate of books vs. ban / burn… best bet is on the books. What littleness of soul must possess the political party that looks around at all the suffering in the world amidst the subtle tyranny of low expectations and then thinks to themselves: You know who the real enemy and threat to American freedom is?Librarians. In the wee hours of the morning after the bars close you can purchase the 25 cent to the left or the 10 cent to the right. The Readers Corner has good quality surprises in the $.25 section. I got a bird song book and a military history book at 3 AM in the morning. $.50 for the two.
Bill Lowder: Lots and lots and lots of books!
A Carey: You never know what you'll find here! Awesome atmosphere.
Bill Albing: Knowledgeable staff, great selection of books inside, fun collection of cheap books outside. Booklovers welcome. Always helpful and courteous.
Yasmeen Bynum: Parking was easy with the parking lot. They had a good flow of people in and out. Book prices were reasonable. The staff was great! The store is interesting with more then just books. They had discount book outside. Love the place! I would return.
Juan Esteban Hoyos: There are a lot of options and pretty affordable
Freddie Joseph: By far my all-time favorite used book store! This place is a little hidden gem right by NC State. I used to come here as a student and had many wonderful suggestions by the staff on what to read next. Totally JAM PACKED with books of all kinds!
Marsha Adkins: They know their stuff! Good, smart people.
Richard Potter: Incredible store with sections for pretty much any genre you can imagine. I zeroed in on the horror section and found some GREAT stuff that is long out of print. The prices were great. I will definitely be back!
Garrett Camfferman: Good selection
Teal Lepley: A fantastic used bookstore with great prices. It’s got so much character and history. Selling books is easy and you get decent money in return—especially if you choose store credit instead of cash.A note, however: it’s an older building and space is cramped inside. While it has curb ramps and a wheelchair accessible entrance, the inside is definitely not wheelchair accessible. Even when I had a cane, it was difficult to navigate—honestly, it gets cramped in there easily in the weekends for everyone.Definitely visit earlier in the day or during the week, it’s worth it!
Ladystardust04: There is a large selection and it’s a cool place worth visiting. I’ve found some good books BUT I will tell you- for a used bookstore, they really overprice the books. I was shocked at the prices of books that weren’t even in good condition. The aisles are ridiculously small- it can be really hard going through them sometimes even with just 2 people trying to browse the same isle or get around each other. But there is a ton of stuff to browse through and find cool stuff. I kinda get weird and pretentious vibes from the staff. But overall I only get books from used bookstores so I do still support and visit them regardless of what I find to be some downfalls. It’s overall still a cool bookstore.
Laura Gearhart: One of my dons favorite places. Always finds what he us looking for
Kylie Winchester: I love the atmosphere of the store. All of the workers are nice. Tons of options for books
JJ S: Super fun store to browse. Always something unique. The staff are so friendly and kind. It’s a local treasure.
David Robinson: Wonderful selection of books, inside and outside. The outside books are 10cents one side, and 25cents the other. I rarely leave without seeing something interesting and buying it!
Charles Sasser: Amazing niche in Raleigh to find your favorite reading material or music. The outdoor selection of books, magazines, and music/video (music/video during store hours and the other 24/7) can be a source of excitement of finding certain gems during the thrill of the hunt. These items are super bargains and just drop your money in the slot. The money goes to a great cause- NPR.
Duncan “Scotte”: If you want books at great prices come here
Jude Vanne: Loved this place for many years, but they’ve recently become very overpriced. They don’t give you anything for selling your own books, and you basically have no choice but choose store credit. Go to Nice Price Books instead.
Gary Schoen: Didn't buy but two of my 40 booksI brought to sell.
Breanne P: This is a cozy little bookstore that is very welcoming and full of variety. The past two times I’ve gone I haven’t even made it inside because they have SO many books outside for sale. The whole left side of the store front has $.25 books and the whole right side has $.10 books! There is a coin drop box attached to the door so you can still shop outside during closed hours.
