Capital Sew and Quilt: what do users think?
Debbie Fullbright: So glad we found Capital Sew and Quilt! Tony was so very helpful in taking in my 57 year old Singer for routine maintenance. My sister was thrilled to talk with one of the sales staff as she considered purchasing a new serger. And she did purchase a new machine which she'll pick up in a couple weeks. A very good experience!
Annette Holliday: Professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I’d like to say Ruth Williams is a joy to work with. She knows the products and her customer service is top notch. They have serviced my Janome MC15000 and I will now have my Babylock Altair serviced there as well.
Mark Helms: Ruth Williams brings over 10 years of experience along with creativity and superb knowledge of the machines and always goes the extra mile to insure a happy customer. Very knowledgeable staff. Very helpful, friendly, not pushy! They take time to listen. They are also very creative with designs and very knowledgeable about their machines.
Diana Mann: After years of taking my machine to another dealer to be serviced, I found Capital Sew and Quilt. I thought my old tech was doing a good job until I got my machine back from Capital Sew and Quilt. I cannot believe how well this machine is running now! It has not been this quiet or run this well since I took it out of the box. Everyone in the shop knows their machines and I ended up buying a Juki I'd had my eye on for a while. All of my machines will be going to them for service from now on.
Michiyo “Mich” Vangellow: Aaron made a home visit to set up my HQ machine, he was very through and knowledgeable. I will definitely use this service again.
Connie Lee: I want to Thank Jennifer Moon for all her patience, kindness and help. I would never have figured it all out without her help. I would recommend anyone to visit Capital sew & quilt if they’re interested in a machine. Everyone there has been very nice and helpful but Jennifer went overboard to help me. 🙂 I will go to them in the future for all my sewing needs. Thank you, Connie Lee
Clairice Pellegrino: Friendly and extremely helpful. Beautiful store!🤗
Dale Harrison: Captial Sew and Quilt are very friendly and helpful no matter what your interest are they will work to help you find just what need.
Amanda Phillips: Kind and knowledgeable. Fixed my problem in less than 10 minutes.
Skye Robertson: Oh man I need to shout out Jen and Jennifer I stopped in after work and they brought the energy!!! They showed me all the incredible things these machines can do. Managed to talk me into a new hobby. Keep these treasures!
Ellen Safrit: Jen & Jennifer are kind, helpful and professional seamstresses! I called with a stitching problem and they gave great advice. When I was still having problems, I took my machine in and they set me on the right path with grace and calm. I had the wrong thread, needle and bobbin but they took the time to show me how to fix it. What a wonderful team ❤️
Shellie Ogle: These folks know their machines. I had taken in a Brother Project Runway machine for repair. Before I left the machine, Jen asked if you I stay for a few minutes, 'maybe it is something simple'. So simple. She made the corrections and repairs within 15 minutes I was on my way home with a working machine.I will certainly be taking my Janome and Brother PR embroidery machine in for servicing and repair.
Sandra Haggett: I recently met Jennifer Moon at the fiber arts show and was discussing a problem I was having with my Handi Quilter Moxie and PSL (Pro-Stitcher Lite). Even though I had not purchased my machine at her store she was more than helpful. I wish I had been directed there by Handi Quilter when I purchased my Moxie. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Willing to spend time with you and answer all your questions. They have become my "go-to" for all things Handi Quilter.
Rhonda Jones: I have been very pleased with my sewing machine and service. Staff are so supportive and helpful.
A T: Knowledgeable people, very positive experience that surpassed my expectation of a first time visit to a repair shop . Great team --Thank you, Jennifer, Aaron, Tony !
Cynthia LC: Best place to take your sewing machine for service! They are friendly, very thorough and knowledgeable! My machine is running great! I will never go anywhere else.
Debra Tingen: This is an awesome store with awesome employees full of knowledge and always willing to help you. Jennifer you are a very talented person and definitely an asset to Capital Sew and Quilt. Santa is awesome!!!!🌲🌲
Cathy Locklin: I’m very happy with the service I received on my Handi Quilter longarm machine.

Wagrmom: Incredibly friendly and helpful! I had a mishap with my sewing machine and she had the problem identified and fixed within just a few minutes. A very welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. I will definitely use them for all my sewing machine needs from now on!
Sarah Park: I had an amazing experience here. The two people who were working there helped me with a sewing machine problem I was having and they were able to fix it in no time. They were friendly and very welcoming to me from start to finish.I will be going here again for all my sewing needs and problems.

Harbour's Sew & Vac: what do users think?
Robert Phillips: Very helpful place to shop. Recommended for your sewing and vacuuming needs.
Sacuanjoche: Excellent service!
Karen Davis: He gave me a terrific deal and he was so friendly and pleasent. I'll go to him over and over.
Mary Leong: I brought my Oreck cannister in and owner didn't have a small attachment piece but he worked with my vacuum and pieces together an attachment. He only changed a small fee. Went there several times and also bought thread and needles for reasonable fees.
Tracy Beinke: The owner is amazing . He is so helpful and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t go anywhere else !
Hariharan Gopalan: Norman was super helpful. He helped me solve a pestering issue with the Singer 533!! Thanks so much!
Tracy Grosner: Scott did an amazing job! I took my 1970s Singer touch and sew machine in for a seized wheel. He was able to fix it in the same day. It sews better than ever. I’ll definitely be back!
Michelle Pavliv: So very disappointed. My recent experience at Harbour's Sew & Vac was all about terrible customer service. I dropped of my Singer machine because it would not start. I paid $20 a diagnostic fee in advance. I got a call the next day, telling me the reason it wouldn't start is because the walking foot I had on the machine wouldn't allow it to go through the set-up. The caller told me I needed not use that particular walking foot and I could pick up my machine.Much to my surprise, when I came to pick up my machine, I was being charged an additional $87 for a tune-up. I had my machine tuned-up just a few months back (by Harbour Sew & Vac). When I explained that this was not what I was told on the phone and I had not authorized a tune-up. I was not told about any additional expense. I stated this was totally unexpected and not good customer service. The response of the (non-mask wearing) clerk, was "Well then, I'll just keep your machine if you don't want to pay for it." as he dragged it behind the counter. In addition to the unexpected expense, I certainly didn't expect to have my machine held hostage. He said he didn't know what the owner told me, and he couldn't reach him, besides, he just works there. When you service an appliance, you expect an estimate of work to be done, prior to authorizing said work. When you question the business about their charges, you should be met with a reasonable discussion and not rudeness. I will no longer do business with Harbour's Sew & Vac and suggested others reconsider before selecting them
Matthew Taggart: Went in to get some assistance tuning my machine for ultra-lightweight fabric, as I'm having some issues with puckering. Unfortunately, they don't offer a service for walking through tensioning the machine to match the fabric. Only service he offered was a $99 servicing which isn't what I was looking for. Also, the employee had no mask on. I like supporting small businesses, but won't go out of my way to spend $ there if they don't have the courtesy to don a mask. Also, a customer came in unmasked during my brief visit. This is at a time when covid-19 cases are surging in NC and around the nation.
Phyllis Rios: I took my Janome Sewing machine here when it crashed and seized. Scott was very knowledgeable and knew what the problem was. He quoted me a price and timeframe and kept to both. I was very pleased with his work and would highly recommend him. He even showed me how to better care for my machine, which I greatly appreciate. Thanks, Scott! I’m back in business!!!😷😷😷
Emily Haas: I have a vintage Singer 66 and it recently stopped working correctly. I knew nothing about sewing machines, so I googled and saw this store offered sewing machine repair. I brought my machine in today. The gentleman working was very nice and knowledgeable. He showed me how to clean the machine, how to open it to put in oil, and how various things worked. I went home and did what he told me, and my machine is now working great. Thank you so much for your great customer service! I feel like I can now take proper care of my machine and use it better.
UniQuely Dominiquely: Great and kind people.
Devyn Marsh: Super friendly. We inherited a sewing machine from family but unfortunately it was not kept in the best condition. It was beyond repair but we were able to buy a new one and he gave us a huge discount and I couldn't be happier
Jordan Shaw: Fantastic shop! Super quick service, and kind staff. I will absolutely be sending everyone I know to them and I recommend them 100%
Kimberly Bowers: Have taken my embroidery machine there for several years. Recently I took it in and continued to have issues. I took it in again and it turns out there was a problem with my threading the machine. They checked out again at no charge even though the problem was me, not the machine. I appreciate the customer service.
Emilie S: I took my New Home Mode sewing machine in because the bobbin winding mechanism on the top of the machine came apart. I opened the machine and specifically pointed out to the clerk the part that I'd reassembled and asked to have it checked for proper reconstruction. When I went to pick up the machine I found that the tension knob had been taken apart which isn't the part that needed to be fixed! Shock compounded by sticker shock at the repair cost. There was no need to touch the tension knob. I asked to wind a bobbin and then also to sew with the new tension knob. It failed to work correctly with poor stitching on the bobbin side. The bobbin winding part on the top of the machine hadn't been touched.Upon returning second time the bobbin winding mechanism had also been replaced. He told me the machine was 40 years old and what did I expect. Well, 35 years is actual fact and if I used it 35 times in 35 years that's a lot. It worked fine to sew. No way these parts needed replacing from over use. The machine contains all metal parts so there's no flimsy plastic getting brittle with age. And I oil it on the occasions that I use it.I asked to wind a bobbin and it failed to wind correctly. It looked exactly like the "incorrect" bobbin winding in the manual that I keep with the machine. He told me it was fine but when I showed him the picture of "correct" and "incorrect" he had to agree. The repairman adjusted it in my presence. As I said only the bobbin winding holder on the top needed reassembly. Turns out Sears sells the replacement spring for $3.99. The check spring, which is the part the repairman told me was broken necessitating replacement of the tension knob is still being made and costs $4.99.I was charged over $60 for the repair. The machine only cost $150 new! It would be one thing if I'd been called and had the opportunity to discuss the repair in advance. In my opinion it's unprofessional to embark upon repairs before discussing them with the owner. Now I've learned more about sewing machine parts than I ever wanted to learn. And I also learned NOT TO GO TO THIS REPAIR STORE if anything ever goes wrong with my machine in the next 35 years.
Theresa McLaughlin: Great service.
Joan K: Every time I've had a problem with my sewing machines, fixed every time.

Mike's Sewing Machine Repair: what do users think?
Bev Goodrich: Very prompt in the repair. Very pleased.y old Kenmore lives on.
Karen Hood: Great. Quick and done well. Thanks
Nancy Turner: Fast service and good price for repair. I am very pleased! Mike was very nice and asked if he could take the machine to my car. That was very thoughtful!
K B: They are very helpful, professional and knowledgeable
Shelly Beard: Cleaned my sewing machines for a very reasonable price
Lucille Seaman: Good place, to get your sewing machine fixed
pat bartlett: He had a waiting list but he fixed my machine quickly and I would definitely recommend his work.
Emily Kleinburg: Mike is honest, thorough, and fair. I trust that he's not trying to upsell me anything and is actually trying to fix my machine. He told me upfront his wait times and was able to get my machine fixed the same day I took it in. His prices are also better than anyone else in the area! He was polite and professional and took the time to explain what had happened and how he fixed it.
James C Eastep: Though I had not visited Mike's Sewing Machine center previously, I left a message for a callback early one morning, and he replied by 11am, to get more information. He was very helpful, cordial, and suggested several things I could try with my machine, but explained he was backed up and could not promise to get to my sewing machine sooner than one month. I elected to wait for his call back. After he contacted me to inform me he could take my sewing machine job, I tried diligently to locate his business, which turned out to be in another business, very difficult to find, and he was not usually there. When I searched in his area using Google maps to find his business and called to get specific directions, he did not call me back until I returned home. He should have provided the specific directions when he first called me back. I'm not going back to this business.
Ron Matyas: Mike does such a great job, took my sewing machine in on Thursday afternoon and it was ready by Friday!
Aging Gracefully: I have a Brother cs6000i that came with a very general operations manual, which caused me to do certain things incorrectly. Mike not only fixed my machine (thank goodness it was a minor problem), he also "fixed" my lack of knowledge about it. If you need your machine repaired, take it to Mike!
Tommy Thompson: Was very impressed with the serviced I received. Highly recommend him if you're in need of sewing machine repairs.
David Marshall: Very professional, courteous, and friendly. Goes above and beyond. Reasonable prices as well! 5 stars.
H G: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI was lucky to find Mike to tune up my 1963 Singer '503'. He was able to repair and tune it so that it sews like it did when it was new. Reasonable price, couldn't be happier, highly recommended! June 2020
Tempest Carnes: Fast, efficient, and extremely courteous!
Susan Arthur: Critical:ValueMy sewing machine was "repaired" last week, but still makes the same noise it did before I dropped it off. And now it snarls besides.
Sue Wallace: Great job!
K Thomas: This guy is great! I inherited a machine I know nothing about. He took the time to explain several features after only charging me 25.00 for a fix on his day off. I am so grateful!
Rocket Betty: Excellent repair work. I’ve been going to him for years.
Maggie Aleixo: Mike is quick, courteous, and thorough.
gary grant: Mike did an expert job replacing drive gears in my 1967 Singer Golden Touch and See. The turn around time was fast and his rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend him.

Romeo Cabinetry & Sewing Machine Repair: what do users think?
Rita Vermeulen: I had an issue with a sewing machine and emailed Matt. He emailed back quickly and offered to take a look same day. Turns out it was ‘user error’ but he was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. I will definitely be back when I need service and have already referred a friend who was looking for a good service provider.
Olga: Best service I’ve received, will come back
Ok SO I: AWESOME EXPERIENCE!
Becoming Bridal Alterations: We’ve taken two of our Viking sewing machines in in the last couple of months and we have been very pleased with Matt and Romeo. Our shop is about an hour away, so we’ve had to have other people pick up and drop off for us. They are very kind, the price is reasonable, and both machines are working great now!
Judy Starritt: Very helpful and knowledgeable about sewing, threads and sewing machine maintenance.
Brenda Johnson: Matt was most helpful in locating the part that I needed for my sewing machine. Called me back to let me know where to order with all the information I needed and that it would be cheaper for me to order. Guess what - they were having a spring sale so got it even cheaper! Arrived in less than a week! Been trying to get it thru another source since February!! Thanks Matt for your great customer service!!
Lucy Austin: I took my 720 Pfaff into Matt Romeo today because the tension was bad with fine thread. He helped me almost immediately and completely fixed my issue. He recalibrated my bobbin tension and then he got into the inside of the machine computer and reset the tension default setting which he said was too high.My stitches are beautiful now. So helpful. Did a great job. Also I had previously called on Saturday about this issue and even though he was closed on Saturday he called me back quickly and told me how to increase the bobbin tension if I wanted to try to fix my issue myself. I decided to let him fix my issue which I am glad I did.
Elois Johnson: Mac delivers very high quality machine repairs. He was professional and price was reasonable. His honesty about your machine repair helps you to make the best decision.

BERNINA World of Sewing: what do users think?
Cindy Meyer: If you're in the market for a Bernina machine, whether it be a sewing computer, embroidery machine or longarm, BERNINA World of Sewing is the place to purchase. The technical support is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The learning and education programs are ,⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the staff are ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, and you will never ever beat the Bernina quality and standard of service because they are (you guessed it) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. You combine the Bernina standards with Bernina World of Sewing customer service and you have a sweet deal that will keep you happily stitching for years to come. If you know me, you know I don't often offer these type of reviews. My experience for the past 20 years has been awesome. I highly recommend the Bernina brand and Bernina World of Sewing as your dealer
Glo: I needed to update this review because I purchased the B740 which is an amazing sewing machine. I love all the fabric and choices they offer. I also love my B700 Embroidery Machine. I have owned many Berninas over 39 years and this was an easy choice for me. Sona, the Owner was wonderful and made sure I was satisfied with my purchase and price. The customer service I received was spot on! I also enjoyed the Owners Classes (2) and learned so much. The gals who work there are very informative and ready to assist with your quilting needs.I found my new Quilting home at BWOS and look forward to taking classes and joining Bernina Club. Come on down Quilters for a fun place to buy fabric, patterns, notions and so much more.Happy Quilting!
Vera m: Very helpful. Looking forward to classes there.
Aleta A. Krauss: They had a wide variety of fabrics, patterns, and tools. The staff were very friendly and informative!!! Highly recommend!!!
Maureen Phillips: I recently bought a longarm from the Bernina store in Raleigh and the whole experience was wonderful!  Sona and Michael are so friendly and made the installation process seamless :)  They expertly assembled and calibrated the machine.  Afterwards, Michael thoroughly trained me on how to operate it and was very patient with my questions.  I appreciated all his advice and enjoyed that Michael and Sona were so excited for me.  They truly made a happy purchase even happier!
dmaslett: Beautiful shop with fantastic and helpful staff.
Cathy Norris: Very nice selection of fabrics and patterns
Julendia Gaillard: I love the store, fabric selection, staff and classes they provide. I really love the warm and inviting atmosphere. The fabric and notions selection are top notch.
Caral Lock: Great store and friendly staff
Jennifer Saliba Bishop: I recently visited the Raleigh store to take a look at some of the Bernina machines in person before purchasing. My husband and two little boys were also with me and the first thing that Nancy did was welcome my boys and offer them each a toy pullback car (for them to keep) that kept them entertained the whole time we were in the store. She spent a lot of time going over the Bernina 550 with me showing me all of the features of the machine. She was so thorough, professional, and extremely helpful. She encouraged me to take some time to decide which machine to purchase and did not pressure me to buy one right there on the spot. I actually ended up purchasing a used 770QE online (the Tula Pink edition and my dream machine) but I so appreciated the customer support and the welcoming atmosphere of this store. I plan to come back soon to purchase fabric (they have BEAUTIFUL selections) and want to look into taking some sewing mastery classes with them. Do not be afraid to stop in this store! The staff is so very kind and helpful! Thank you guys for turning me into a Bernina girl!
Eileen Dudley: This is a great store for people who love to sew! Great selection of fabrics and lots of other goodies. And of course the wonderful Bernina machines! The staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
Amy Purvis: Five stars is not enough. I drive all the way from Fuquay to come here. I have been greeted warmly from my first visit, asked about current projects, helped and educated on products, and allowed to browse as long as I want. Selection is huge - especially Tula Pink! They really go the extra mile here and I make a point to shop here first. You can get fabric anywhere, but you cannot replicate the quilt shop experience.
John Levi: Came in to buy a sewing machine for my friend's daughter and Stephanie was so helpful with getting me set up with a great entry level machine for garment altering. Thanks for your help!
Kristi Servies: Great job servicing my machine.
Cindy Puetzer: It is a wonderful store of beautiful fabric and a very knowledgable staff! My go to place for quilting! And Bernina sewing machines are the best!!!
DaLung: Beautiful quilt shop
Eleise Jacobs: The store looked nice and pleasant, but when I went in to purchase a sewing machine I was completely ignored. I wasn't even acknowledged when I walked in. I sat for 15 minutes *by the machines* and said hello to the the salesperson, but still nothing. It doesn't matter how nice your shop looks if people can't buy anything.
Christine the Quilt Dasher: Love this shop! They have a great selection of fabrics. I'm always impressed by the amount of notions they carry. If it exists, they carry it! I had my Bernina Artista 640 serviced there and they made an error with it, but corrected it right away. (A part was loose in the bobbin area.) They try hard to keep customers happy. They are an active shop, with classes every month for a variety of skills. You will be very happy with this shop!
Charles Nye: I made my first stop into this delightful shop today. I am a quilter and I thought this location had everything a quilter could need - machines, a decent collection of fabrics, notions galore, and a very helpful staff. Everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable and friendly. There were some value fabrics, a couple of sales, and I believe they do quilt-a-longs for those wishing to be more involved. They do have a complimentary rewards program which is always a plus. I will definitely be back!
Jenn M: They are always wonderful. Each time we come my 4 yr old gets to pick out a rubber duckie which makes her day. The fabric selection is wonderful and your creative juices come out as soon as you step foot in the store.
Kayde Puckett: I have been a customer for two years now, but I have to say that these ladies CAME THROUGH for me last week! I ordered a sit down longarm machine from them which was delivered last Thursday. That evening when I went to use it, the machine was making a funny noise. Friday morning I sent an email to the owner and sales associate who had ordered it for me, thinking that it would be days if not weeks before getting things straightened out. The owner emailed me back within minutes to let me know that they would have a service tech out THAT VERY AFTERNOON (I live 45 minutes from the shop, BTW). Sylvia came out, heard the noise, called the shop and arranged for a replacement machine which had come in at the same time to be driven out by one of the other associates on her way home. Sylvia waited patiently, set up the replacement machine, tested it to be sure all was perfect, and drove off with the other machine at 6:15pm. On her Friday evening. Never once did she seem like she wanted to be doing anything else, she was so happy to help. I feel this was such exceptional service by the whole Bernina WOS team and I am absolutely THRILLED to have ordered my machine from them. Customer for life!
