Ash Davis: So unprofessional. My mother came here for a bladder surgery and they made her leave immediately after surgery. They did not even let my father, her husband, discharge her. They just called him and told him to meet her and a nurse at the front and she was in a wheelchair. They kept calling her names that weren't hers and would only give her a couple painkillers when she could barely even get out of the car on her own. It's been two days and she can barely walk on her own, I don't see why they forced her out so soon WITHOUT DISCHARGE? They did not even tell her how the healing process is going to go or what to do after surgery. We keep calling their front desk and no one will pick up. Do not come to this center if you're getting a more major internal surgery.

Mary Reed - Staton: I've been to Rex Surgery of Cary, many times over the past 8 yrs, and everyone, from the nurses, to the anesthesia people, have been so great every time I've gone there for Surgery. They've calmed my nerves, talked with me like old friends, and remembered me, every time I come in. My doctor, Kevin Khoudary, is always happy and upbeat, and seems to really like his patients. Of all my doctors, he is my favorite! I highly recommend Rex Surgery of Cary!

Chelsea Adams-Perez: I had a tonsillectomy here today. It’s a well-appointed facility and the medical staff I encountered were cordial. I was nervous about the procedure but it went well. I actually prefer the smaller setting vs. being in the main hospital.I didn’t have any issues with billing and I felt that my provider was upfront about the cost of the surgery. It was actually less than I had expected! I’m sure I’ll be in pain over the next few days but I’m looking forward to a day where I no longer have tonsil problems.Only reason for only four stars is because my wife said the discharge papers were unclear about post-op care. I read a ton of stuff about recovery online, so I’m personally set with that but it could be an issue for other folks.I hope I never need another ENT surgery but if I do, I would go through this facility again.

Jeff Howell: Money, money, money. This place isn't concerned about patient care. They just want your money. They are just using the name "Rex" and are not really part of the hospital system. They'll tell you they are partly owned by the doctors who send you there. These docs are part of the " pay up front no patient care scheme". I wouldn't go here for a scratch on my big toe.

Gal Afik: I was referred to REX Surgery from my dermatologist. REX contacted me in order to make an appointment for a trivial surgery and I was told that a consultation was not necessary. We made the appointment for July 2nd at the Cary location. The day before surgery I had yet to be called with any information regarding my procedure (pre-op preparation, timing, etc.) and I contacted them in order to get more information. I was told by a nurse at the Cary location that they DID NOT have me scheduled for an appointment and that they, in fact, don't have me in the system at all! She recommended that I call the Raleigh REX location in order to check if I accidentally made the appointment with them (I was contacted by REX, not the other way around). I contacted REX in Raleigh and was told that the Cary location did in fact schedule me for an appointment, at the wrong location. The morning of the surgery, I drove to Raleigh and was sent from one place to another throughout the entire hospital until I was finally told that my consultation (NOT surgery) was taking place in a different campus altogether. Halfway to the other location I was called and told that my consultation appointment was, in fact, IN THE CARY LOCATION! After about an hour and a half of being whirled around, I finally arrived at Dr. Dustin Bermudez's office in Cary. This is where the story changes: Dr. Bermudez is FANTASTIC! He not only made time for my surgery on the same day, but also made the appointment very enjoyable and explained everything to me in a very knowledgeable and comforting manner. His nurse was wonderful and made sure that we were take care of and had everything we needed. Dr. Bermudez and his staff made a horrible experience much better. I hate giving this review a 1 star rating, but the whomever is in charge of scheduling at REX needs to be disciplined! I will attempt to leave Dr. Bermudez a positive review somewhere else!

Michael Esposito: Staff was courteous and concerned all the way up until my kidney stone shockwave was done.... Then it becomes treat em and street em.... Pushed me out within an hour as per their protocol and didn't make sure I wasn't bleeding internally.... Guess what?? I was.. Didn't even make it home before going to a different ER and getting a CT scan to confirm bleeding..... Would never, ever recommend having this procedure done without confirmation of no bleeding before discharge......

Google User: I had surgery here a month ago and this place was great! They were very organized and attentive to my questions and needs. The nurses were happy to answer any questions I had before and after my surgery. I would reccomend this place to anyone in need of surgery. Top notch staff and facility~

Evan Chick: Excellent staff, excellent facility, top notch care. Had surgery under general anaesthesia, every step of the process was smooth. Faculty were some of the best I have encountered. I would not hesitate to recommend to family and friend's. My mother also had surgery here with a very satisfied result. They do require you pay a portion of the cost up front, so be sure to plan for that and call ahead to identify the required payment.

DMD: My son was scheduled for a procedure on a Friday; 3 days before the procedure, the center called and told us the total estimated cost would be approximately $2100 after insurance. They stated in order to move forward with the surgery, I would have to pay the full amount, or do an "easy" payment plan of 3 installments. After discussing with them my HSA and requesting a modified plan to 4 months, guaranteeing them $250 each pay period, they rejected this. Now I have to scramble to find another venue for my son's much-needed surgery. Had they called with an estimate sooner, perhaps I could have saved the money up, but I can't just crap out $700 in 3 days and still feed my family. I'm highly disappointed in this facility's financial policies and practices.Update: I contacted the business manager directly and discussed the payment plan I presented the billing employee the previous day. She accepted that, gave me a website to make payments, and my son had the necessary surgery on Friday. The nurses, anesthesiologist, and supporting staff were great with my son and he received top-quality care, as well as a follow-up call on Monday to see how he was doing.I've updated the rating for this facility from a 1 star to 3. The only reason this is not a 5 is due to the short-notice of estimated charges, their billing policies, and, frankly, the lack of customer service from the first billing representative. The care my son received was 5-star care, for which I am deeply grateful. I sincerely hope the facility management will consider revising their billing/payment and notification policies, paying particular attention to customers with valid HSA accounts.

Carol Carol: My son was scheduled for a procedure by urology with Rex Surgery Center. He has insurance however I received a call from them this morning that we would either have to pay $4000 out of pocket to have this procedure or would have to pay $600 a month. I have neither one at this point. I could have paid something down and payments but was told that wasn't an option. I am very disappointed in the entire process. My question to others is to ask questions on each visit. Find out if Rex Surgery Center is really the same as Rex Hospital or UNC becuase it isn't.

CHM: I specifically informed the EMS to only take me to wakemed Cary even though UNC Rex was the closest. I have had general surgery before at wakemed Cary, specifically by Dr Anne Chung, and I felt the care and knowledge base was superior to other hospitals.

Diane Johnson: I had bariatric surgery on 12-19-22 at Wake Med - Cary. I could not have asked for a better experience! EVERYONE, from the reception area forward were kind, patient and willing to help in any way. Everyone acted like they loved they job - no one seemed to act as though I was just a number that day. I applaud all the Doctors, Nurses and all the staff. The staff on 5 West made the overnight stay a good experience & they even arranged for meds to be delivered to my room. The discharge the next morning was handled quickly & they escorted me to my awaiting ride. True, I've only been in a hospital a couple of time before, but this experience was far & above the others. I would whole-heartedly recommend Wake Med Cary!

Tom Farmer: I accompanied my wife to Dr Dubetman's office before her surgery and afterwards. Dr. Duberman is a caring doctor and skilled surgeon ( he also repaired a hernia for me last year). Dr. Duberman is professional and courteous; he took time to listen to my wife's concerns, explained the surgery and accomplished it competently. My wife is pleased and recovering nicely. Dr. Duberman's staff have been responsive every time my wife has called. I highly recommend him.

Theresa Walker: I had Bariatric surgery over 5 years ago under Dr. Pilati and his team, it’s been one of the best experience ever. They have been in my corner since day one and anytime I’ve called them they have been there. They listen to how you feel and if things are off the plan you set up for yourself they help you get back on track. I’ve recommended my sister to them for surgery because she was over weight, needed a knee replacement and her heart was week. She went to see Dr. Pilati and his nurse Jess, who is also amazing, and today is has lost a whole person!!! She can now get her knee replacement done, she off all medications and her heart is strong!!! So we thank God everyday for Dr. Pilati and his amazing staff! Evelyn Chapple: I had my post op appointment with Dr Nunoo on 11/22/21.I waited less than ten minutes which included my check in.Dr Nunoo is not only a very capable surgeon, but attentive and caring.He goes out of his way to answer all questions and he listens.I realize most surgeons are expected to rush though appointments as quickly as possible. At no time did he appear rushed.If you are looking for a skilled General Surgeon that is friendly, thoroughand takes time to listen, I highly recommend Dr Robert Nunoo.Entire office staff was friendly and I could tell they enjoyed working in this office.

Judy Kell: The doctors and nurses as well as transport teams were AMAZING, they all treated me with so much care and respect. Special shout out to my nurses on Floor 2 and 5, Ailene, Vanessa, Julianna, Peyton, Paighton, Aminatta McKay and my dear transport person Tiffani who got me all over the hospital effortlessly, no bumps or crashes. Dr. Brandon Roy and his staff were so good at explaining what happened, why and how they fixed it and how I can manage going forward. It was a bad time for me initially but with this team of Drs. and Nurses, they had me comfortable asap. Thank you to each and every one for such great care.

Maria Garcia: My husband had an appt with Dr. Ann Chung for hernia repair. This Dr. told my husband he is overweight (he's not even close to 240) and she will not performed his hernial surgery until he losses weight. She told him but you qualify for Bariatric surgery we can always schedule you. She was very unprofessional, unethical, unfriendly and very rude. If she would of approached my husband in a different way explaining it would be better and have a better outcome if he losses wait before contemplate having surgery, be more professional, more humble, be a Doctor. He may of said yes lets do it your way. But she had to so humiliating and call him "fat" and denied to perform his hernial surgery but strongly suggest to schedule a bariatric surgery.Shame on you Dr. Chung, you maybe so smart ang bright but you still to learn how to be nice to your patients.

I was nervous knowing I had to have breast surgery but I know I got the best care.

He and his assistant Ashley were compassionate, caring, very thorough in explaining the procedure in detail and putting me at ease. Following my surgery I saw him at least once a day for the duration of my hospital stay. He always took time, never rushed, was very kind and concerned. In addition to Dr. Nunoo and his friendly and helpful office staff I want to say that the nurses and other staff at WakeMed Cary were also very efficient, caring and compassionate. I would highly recommend Dr. Nunoo and WakeMed Cary.

Kristen Davis: I had to have had the top team available for my surgery. The amount of ease and nurturing I received far exceeded my expectations. From pre Op with Nurse Kathy so attentive and informative, to the top notch anesthesiologist Dr Bass who kept me informed and had the best personality, to my surgeon Dr Chung, and last but certainly not least the post op nurse nicole and the room nursing team all gave me a very pleasant experience during a time where my anxiety could have been through the roof. I had all my fears put at ease every step of the way! I never want to go to another hospital other than Wake Med Cary Hospital. Thank you for making this process so easy.

Kara Mitchell: A couple weeks ago, I underwent my first colonoscopy. The entire staff could sense my anxiousness. They were very empathetic and communicated kind words to appease my senses. The staff is also very professional. My aftercare ensured that I was fine before leaving the center. My results from the endoscopy was explained and shared immediately. The results from my exam and directions on how to proceed with my care was shared less than a week later. I truly appreciated my experience despite the reason for it.

Robin H: The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. The office very clean. But my husband described it well and he is a man of very few words...it was like a drive through colonoscopy. They were whipping them in and out.When I got home my are where I had my IV was brused or blood was under the skin with some sorness and discomfort for a few days. If it had not cleared up I was going to call them. I love my doctor but I could tell she was busy and ready to proceed with my preceedure. My husband had his colonoscopy a few months ago at a different facilit, not Raleigh Endoscopy, closer to my house and took maybe 1 ½hrs at the most. I was at Raleigh Endoscopy from 11:30 to 2:00 or 2:30.For scheduling, I could not get into either of the 2 locations near my house I had to go to Cary from Wake Forest. And I tried 2 times to get a closer location.They do have a good business and if you do not mind the wait and the drive this is your place. I would not have any complaints except for the volume of people they go through and I felt they were somewhat rushed to stay on schedule. Maybe it is a result of residual covid patients who are trying to get their colonoscopy, maybe it was a busy Friday.

The entire procedure was explained to me the minute I entered the door by the receptionist, nurse, anesthesiologist and Dr. Mariam. The entire procedure from the minute I entered to when I was discharged took approximately one hour. Great job Cary-Endo!
