Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School: what do users think?
Zlata: I was a student at this school from 2011 or 2012 to 2018 (Pre-K to 5th grade). The website shows many changes since then; the only teacher still at the school from my time there is Mrs. Walker, who was my 5th grade English teacher. Overall, though, it was a good experience.
Carol Jemiolo: My daughter has been a student at CAES for two years and loves it! The teachers and staff are excellent! She has received wonderful and high-quality instruction, which her teachers have been frequently able to tailor to her specific needs (for example, advanced reading assignments). The classes at Chesterbrook are small and personal and the school community at-large has been great! Additionally, the school facilities are quite nice! Very highly recommended! Also, I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout-out to Ms. Soto (the principal) and Ms. Bolden (the school and summer camp manager) who are a tireless and phenomenal administrative team. Reading some of the other reviews, it seems as if some parents were displeased with a previous principal, but the current administrators are very responsive, professional, and are doing an excellent job! We couldn't be more pleased!
James Xu: We loved to send our son to Chesterbrook Academy in Cary and never regretted for a single second for that decision. Our son enjoyed his time with the school since Kindergarten, and special callout to all his teachers for making his time a wonderful one:Grade K: Ms. RenfrowGrade 1: Ms. JudaGrade 2: Ms. Figuers
WacoTaco (WacoTaco): I was there for 7 years but still don't remember anything about it, no one talks to each other and not many memories were made. It had some of the best teachers and was tons of fun.
Amanda Eckersberg: This school has been amazing, especially with the changes implemented by the new administration. The classes are smaller than in the public school setting, so the teachers are really able to differentiate instruction for struggling or advanced learners. I would recommend this school to everyone who asks!
Linda Salant: We are so impressed with the staff at Chesterbrook Academy and are very happy with our child's experience there. We love the small class sizes, and individual attention given to each child. The teachers are also some of the best quality people around. The relatively recent change in the Principal here brought with it an even better experience than we'd had in the years prior. We plan to stay with Chesterbrook for the duration of our son's elementary school. Also looking forward to the development of their middle school for the years beyond that.
IEMV: The camp says the pool is always broken oh yeah btw you pay a lot of money for 1 slice of pizza.
Asim A: This our third year at Chesterbrook. The school is very academic based and we love it. Parents inputs and concerns are heard and acted upon. The new administration and new principal Ms Soto is very involved and hands on. The administration and teachers are amazing and dedicated. New changes have been made by the principal to respond to ever changing demands of the parents and school academics. It’s a close knit school and we feel our child is safe here. The school now has additional buildings which were completed this year. Great school!!
Dionne Delli-Gatti: If it were possible to score a 0 stars I would. I adore many of the teachers but the administration is horrible. Revolving door of principals with no assistant principal the entire year. Significant additional turn over and other problems.
Mandy Torto: The teachers we had were great but the administration of this school a complete disaster. High turnover, no management skills, and the important selling points of the academics changed at the whim of the principal with no input or compensation (such as destroying the specials offerings promised during enrollment). Technology teacher quit, so they decided to remodel the tech lab instead of replace the teacher, no tech lab the rest of the year, (rather than remodel during summer). Not quite sure how you can teach Spanish twice a week for a year and the students learn nothing. Literally my kids retained more from one day using Duolingo. The promised schedule of personalized assessment and learning for the students NEVER HAPPENED. The principal would change his mind, literally multiple times a day, on programs or procedures. The location and parking and carpool are a nightmare and they are putting portables in the field to expand the school, and taking.up the field. You will not get what's promised and it's pretty high tuition for all the b.s. you have to deal with. The corporations objectives are first, and they cut all the corners they can which will hurt your kids' programs. The assistant principal left so they gave her office to the receptionist, and didn't replace the assistant principal. There was no one to go to with issues except the guy ruining the school. This man won PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR for the ENTIRE CORPORATION across the country, that is disturbing.
Rashmi Srivastava: My daughter is going since a year in this school. We are so happy with our daughter progress in pre k that we decided to continue with the same school for her KG class.Great faculty, teachers and principals!High level curriculum which provides great learning for kids .If you are looking for great educational environment for your kid ,you can go for enrollment in this school.!!
Tubie Whoobies: Chesterbrock isn"t great School, only one think is the problem people don't respect the carpool line when the wait fo the kid I think that's not respectful for other people waiting first.is that only the chesterbrook need to work more respect the carpool line
Jeff: Chesterbrook was a part of both of our son's lives for 4 years. Every teacher we had at the school was wonderful and will be remembered. We are very thankful that we found Chesterbrook when we first moved to Cary and would not go back in time and choose a different school. Although teachers change year after year the leadership has continued to work to always put the best interests of the children as the top priority and this had shown at the school throughout the time we have been there.

Renaissance Montessori: what do users think?
Zoe Webre: We were so disheartened when Heartwood closed for good and weren’t sure we’d find another place that felt like home. We couldn’t have been happier or more impressed by this group. Our daughter had a lot of trouble at another Montessori and we switched early in the school year. We went from fighting to get her to school, to her asking “why isn’t school on the weekends too?” in a matter of weeks. Mayra is a wonderful director, and has assembled a wonderful team. And Ms Bernadett and Ms Sonia… will have special places in our hearts forever.
Sarah Asby: My child has thrived at Renaissance Montessori! We switched from a traditional daycare setting to Renaissance when my son was 3. The format was completely different, and I was impressed at the independent play and learning happening in the classrooms. The "works" built up his fine motor and critical thinking skills. The fenced in backyard play area is fantastic with lots of nature to explore. But most of all, I love the staff.Miss Shyamini has been his teacher in the Children's House since he began at 3, and he is now 5 years old and in their Kindergarten program. She has seen him through the difficult stages of being a spirited 3 year old, to a 5 year old with tons of empathy and improved self control. What he has learned, virtually independently, has been a joy to see. He is comfortable with all of the staff and I pick him up every day with a smile on his face.During the Covid-19 closures, Renaissance made great efforts to provide work and virtual time for our son while we were on lockdown. When they opened back up in June for summer camp, I was thrilled with the precautions they were taking. As an immune-compromised individual, it was a very difficult decision to open our bubble up to schooling. But for the mental health of all of us, the benefits outweighed the risk, and the choice was made easier by the procedures Renaissance Montessori has put in place to keep the kids and staff safe.I love their flexibility with schedule (you can select a combination of days and times up to full week and full time with after care) and they've been able to cover unexpected overtime for us when an unexpected event has kept us from picking our son up on time.I highly recommend Renaissance Montessori.
Adam S: I absolutely LOVE this school. What a magical place for kids to learn and grow. We did NOT want to take our kids to a humongous childcare facility, and we are so lucky to have found this little gem. My children are getting deep cross-cultural exposure and diverse Montessori instruction. The staff is amazing and communication is top notch. This school is a must see.
Devarajan Varadarajan: This Montessori is a great early childhood education in this area. People are great, responsive and friendly. My kid was in a preschool which was similar to day care education. This was her first Montessori education and we have seen her improvement in social skills like waiting for her turn, learning to do things on her own. Power of Montessori for a decent price. I have already referred to one of my friend and would definitely refer more friends as well. Keep up the good work!
Jennifer Simoni: This is a great Montessori school! My older kids are envious of their younger sibling because they wish they went to this school. The teachers are kind and wonderful. There is great structure for the children to learn in. The director is easy to communicate and deal with.
Patricia Turner: We love Renaissance so very much! My son started here in Mrs. Rah's class when he turned 3, and in the last year since he started he has really improved on his social skills as well as learning a lot academically. The teachers and staff here are phenomenal! The school itself is clean and beautiful. Montessori is the way to go with education, and we feel really lucky to have our son attend here!
Bronce McClain: We've had a very positive experience w/ Renaissance. Our son immediately became more independent and confident after we started.
Annah Lee: Wonderful community of teachers, parents and kids. My son has thrived at Renaissance for the last several years and I am so grateful for the experience. The administration is top notch and the location of the school is great!
Rachel Kincaid: I love how a native Spanish speaker is in every classroom with the intent of delivering the language during real activities. Both of my children are thriving here!
Jian Gao: My daughter has been with Ms. Charlotte's classroom for about a year. She loves all her teachers and friends. She is getting good art and music educations as she is taking home something new everyday. Renaissance has a family feeling, small and warm, and everyone is very nice to talk to.
Paul Stanley: Renaissance Montessori is excellent -- small, friendly, and reasonably priced. My two year-old daughter began attending in 2017, and my son attended from ages 4-5 during 2013-2014. There was of course some staff turnover during our hiatus between children, but the atmosphere has stayed the same, some familiar faces are still around, and the new folks are great too. We're very happy with both the teachers and the administrative staff. All of the classrooms, even the toddler rooms, follow Montessori guidelines for play and learning, and help teach life skills and independence.Highly recommended.
Evan Wimpey: Our 2 year old son enrolled here and has absolutely loved it! This is his first care outside the home, and he was a little bit slow to open up. Ms Minu and Ms Raisa have been phenomenal, getting him to engage in the the 'work' and he has shown so much development. Every day when I pick him up, he is so excited to talk about his day and all the things he is learning. The staff has been so great about communicating everything that happens, and any concerns they have. Our son loves the school, and we are confident it is a great place for him!
Laura Call: We love the Nido room for our one-year-old! Miss Tricia and Miss Susan provide a calm, warm, and caring environment in which our child has thrived. Our child really enjoys the music and arts added to his traditional Montessori education. He gets lots of time outdoors with other children his age and personal attention indoors with his teachers reading to him and helping him learn to do the puzzles and play games. The environment is relaxing and leaves children a lot of room for imagination--no loud toys or cluttered spaces. We've really enjoyed the classroom's flexibility with our schedule and sincere care for our child's best interest. He is always happy to go to school and we feel confident leaving him with his wonderful teachers!
monti lawrence: My family relocated to NC toward the end of the school year and found an opening at Renaissance for my 5 year old son. Within two weeks of his being there, we were told that my son was behind and needed to remain at the school for another year (he had already had 2.5 years of preschool). We had always received positive feedback from his former preschool teacher, so this was a shock. My son has always loved school, but quickly began crying and not wanting to attend Renaissance, leading us to wonder how they were making him feel in terms of his abilities. Note that all communication was from the school's office manager, not his teacher. When we firmly said we were only finishing out the year, I was told they assumed we'd be there for the following school year and that they'd have to consider whether we could continue at the school. After careful discussion, we decided to pull our son out of the school after 3.5 weeks of attendance. The office manager quickly backpedaled, saying she had never told me my son was behind and that they were "only concerned about so many changes for him" This from the same person who said he may not be able to continue if we didn't stay an extra year.We were still billed for the "new child fee" and the "snack fee" even though my son attended for less than three weeks. They did reduce the amount owed, but it was not at all pro-rated for just the month my son was there. This school cares more about your money than your child. Beware.
Tonja Cutler: My son became part of the Renaissance family to help acclimate him the year before he started public Kindergarten. I can't say enough good things about what a most awesome decision this was on our part. I felt extremely comfortable with his social development and academically - he still blows the other kids out of the water. He went into Kindergarten reading well, not just being able to count past 100, but he was already doing math problems. He is now half way through his first grade year in public school and he goes back to Renaissance during track out. It is a wonderful community of staff and parents. The facility is an encouraging and enriching environment. Overall, being a part of the Renaissance Montessori Family is one of the best decisions we made for our son.
Adrienne Rombach: My son was 3 when he started at Renaissance Montessori... he was shy and cuddly and had never been to a 'big kid school' before. We had him with a nanny up until this point. During his last year at the school he has opened up and now loves to talk with people. In fact is pretty much talks, hums, sings, or makes some kind of noise all the time. He loves to tell me about all of his work from the day and re-iterates stories about what happened in the classroom. I have seen his physical abilities and fine motor skills expand and grow strong. He sings me songs about all different topics and tells me stories about math and reading. I am watching him grow strong and confident in his abilities every week. The teachers are all extremely attuned to the children and listen and respond when there is a question or a need. Each child can work at their own pace and find things that interest them in every activity. I would highly recommend Renaissance to anyone who has a child that is just learning about the world around them. The staff, teachers, and community will help them grown and understand with out fear of the unknown or make them struggle to understand.
Ada Lopez: This is my son’s second year at Renaissance Montessori and we are very pleased with education and care he receives. This school is committed to building a sense of community for students, families, and staff. The staff is warm, friendly, and inviting. Parental involvement is strongly encouraged and families are always welcomed. Renaissance has a strong curriculum which includes: pre-reading and writing, math, science, Spanish, music, geography, life skills, and social interaction. Courtesy is taught and continuously reinforced. Students learn core subjects through hand-on activities. They are introduced to concepts in various ways to ensure learning. Teachers are great about communicating what is happening in the classroom and hold regular conferences to discuss your child’s progress. Our experience at Renaissance has been excellent!
Lauri Robbins: My son has been attending Renaissance for almost 2 years now. It is fantastic place for a little person. He immediately responded to the warm and nurturing learning environment. The staff is always available to talk and encourages parental involvement. The school is very focused on building a strong community and eagerly seeks out parental feedback. They encourage children to challenge their comfort zones, in a respectful and compassionate manner. My son continues to blossom as he grows - I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful school that continues to respond the the new and different challenges each year brings!Renaissance is not a day care - it is the first step in a lifelong journey of civic responsibility and love of learning!

Preston Children's Academy: what do users think?
Perry Price: Our family has been at PCA since our son was 3 months old and we have been so thrilled to find a second family there! We love the teachers and administrators dearly, and the love and care they show for our son has always exceeded our expectations (which were high). We appreciate the level of communication we have with the school, and regularly share how lucky we feel to be at Preston Children’s Academy!
John Quartironi: Our daughter started at Preston Childrens Academy (PCA) over three years ago and recently graduated and moved onto kindergarten. We feel that PCA really helped our daughter prepare for kindergarten even with all the challenges of the pandemic. The staff and teachers truly cared about her development. Our son started around two years ago and he loves going to PCA everyday. The teachers and staff have provided great care for him and have really helped with his overall development. We would highly recommend PCA!
Maya Kapralova: Critical:CommunicationAny suggestions on how to contact the school for just basic questions? is so hard with other highly rates schools? Very disappointing! Can't find anybody via Facebook, Email or Phone.
Nagendra Udupa: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Bich-Tuyen Nguyen: Preston Children's Academy (PCA) was recommended to us by our neighbor Kristin Gainer Hamrick when our first child (A.) was born and we were searching for daycares. She had her three kids at PCA . We've had our two kids in PCA since A. was 12 weeks old and K. was 16 weeks old. We couldn't be happier. The staff are very friendly. Amy and Pam know all parents by their first name, which is quite impressive. For a five star daycare, the prices are within reason when compared to other daycares in Cary. Mymiss Suzette is the teacher in the pre-k program. She brings with her years of experience in elementary education. A. finished the pre-k program learning to read before starting kindergarten . Lastly, what we really appreciate during this pandemic is the commitment of the staff. PCA remained open this whole time taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our children, parents, as well as their staff. We highly recommend PCA for your childcare needs.
Ariel Callahan: We recently relocated to NC and our top priority was finding a quality daycare/preschool for our two young children. During our research of facilities in the area we found Preston Children's Academy (PCA) and instantly felt this was the perfect fit for us. Every single staff member is welcoming and caring, they take the time to get to know you and your child. They are flexible to your needs and do a great job at communicating with parents. With the on-set of COVID, PCA took immediate steps to institute new protocols and safety measures to protect the children and their staff. The environment at PCA feels organized, calm and nurturing which has really helped with our children's transition to their new school. We've only been attending for a short while but it already feels like home.
Jessica Jones: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValuePreston Children's Academy has been wonderful. Everyone here has been awesome; always ready to help and love on the kids. The facility is safe and clean, and is always filled with smiles. I highly recommend Preston Children's Academy!
Jacqueline McKittrick: We have been using Preston for our children’s daycare since our kids were 12 and 8 weeks old. I’ve been so impressed with all the teachers we’ve had over the years. Our oldest just graduated from the pre-k program and I’m so impressed with all that he knows. Additionally, they went above and beyond during COVID and never shut down and yet managed to stay safe. They were the first place I looked for a school aged program for virtual school and was so sad to hear they didn’t have one. Preston is reasonably priced for the hours, the days open, and the rating. I toured several places and am so glad we went with Preston.
Tiffany Brannan: Preston Children's Academy has been the perfect spot for our family. Our son absolutely thrives here. He loves his teachers and classmates, and we're thrilled with how much he's growing and learning under their care.Like any first time parents, my husband and I put a lot of energy, time and worry into childcare for our son. We have never once felt that we made anything but the best decision to enroll at PCA. We're thrilled to have found such a wonderful place and are looking forward to enrolling our second child in early 2021.Bottom line: we absolutely love PCA and cannot recommend it enough.
Kelly Hockaday: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThe staff was ok , however the director Pam , is a sneaky lady . Be careful to any one that wants to work with this company .
Jenny Ayers: We transferred our 3 year old to PCA when we moved from Raleigh to Cary. PCA was highly recommended to us and did not disappoint! Family oriented and wonderful events throughout the year. The pre-school graduation was so precious with the pics, songs and skits. They even brought in super hero special guests, pizza, and ice cream which was a treat for the parents as well :-).
Janet Kosoglov: We started both our children at Preston Children’s as infants and our oldest has since graduated from the pre-K class. She left for Kindergarten confident and well-prepared due, in no small part, to all the wonderful teachers and staff of PCA. I felt “at home” from the moment I took my initial tour and everyone we’ve encountered over the last (nearly) 6 years has been welcoming and genuinely invested in the care, safety, nurturing and education of our children. On-site meals/snacks and indoor gym space for rainy days have been wonderful additional perks. We love PCA! Highly recommend!
Tiffany Howell: We love PCA! The staff are highly engaging with the kids. All teachers know all the children's names and really care about them. My two daughters have learned so much in the time they've been there. There is a nice balance of activities that includes art, exercise/coordination, creative play, reading and cognitive stimulation, and a lovely outside area too! My daughters and I both like the menus for breakfast, lunch, and snack time. They eat raw veggies at daycare-mommy win!
Julia Cook: Preston has been part of our family for over 4 years. As a working mom, I worried about leaving my young children with someone other than our own family, but the teachers at Preston made us feel confident that our children would be safe and well taken care of. We've fallen in love with every teacher our kids have been placed with and we're grateful for the support of the staff at Preston!
Christie Paige: Our 2 children currently attend PCA and they have been wonderful. The administrators and the teachers are friendly, easy to work with, and best of all our children are loved. I feel good about leaving my children to get a great education, and to be hugged & cuddled, and nourished. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a 5-star, locally owned establishment for their children.
bikegirl05: Ii
Adunlap27: We have been enrolled at PCA for close to seven years and are absolutely "at home" with this daycare. My daughter, now 7 was enrolled as an infant and graduated in 2015. My son is currently enrolled in the 2yo room and loves "school". Over the course of the years there had been extremely low turnover in staff and each teacher has always had an impact on my child's life. A nutrious lunch and snack is provided daily, which is super helpful in our busy lives. We love Preston Children's Academy!
Siga Faye: Love the teachers and the facility. My 2 y. o is thriving there!
John Bowman: Nicest teachers, great school for my child.
FIVE GUYS Cary Town Center: I love this day care the staff is very friendly and kind.. my daughter attended preston academy up until she graduated from pe-k, now my son is attending. The teachers are very friendly and courteous, my son love it...
Gregory Burke: My family and I have been very pleased with every aspect of our experience with Preston. The facility, the teachers, & the staff are all top notch.
