Lara Berger: This machine was supposed to help shoppers notify staff of a shoe(s) they wanted to try on. I tried it and discovered it was easier to flag down an employee. Those minutes when I thought the technology would work were super frustrating because other people were being helped and no one asked if I needed anything. The kiosk seems like a good idea but the staff needs to use it otherwise you have a bad experience. That or lose the kiosk altogether so you’re not setting up a false expectation.

Jayden Lawrence: manager and employees have a complete disregard towards customers. They will not help you if anything goes wrong, and plus they have employees that just sit around and not help anyone that’s needs it.
Elizabeth Cheux: I mean if you are looking for clothing or shoes or just to pick up something like tennis balls and you know exactly what you need this store is fine. The employees we’ve encountered in the apparel section were helpful, the selection is good, and we have gotten what we needed.But today I went in prepared to spend $$$ on adjustable weights and home gym equipment which I had been planning to purchase this month. I was shopping online originally but decided to come in to a store and look so I could see the different options in person and handle them to see which were most comfortable for me. There was not a single employee who could help me, demonstrate how the items I was interested in worked, or offer comparisons. The only employee in the section knew nothing about any of the equipment (not his fault, he clearly wasn’t trained in this section) and was super unhelpful. I waited 20-30 minutes for someone else who never came. Also the gym equipment section physically looks scavenged over- display items are damaged and things have lots of missing pieces. The employee told me everything was ‘on the floor’ so apparently they only thing they have to sell for the high end stuff is semi-damaged floor models? It’s a pretty hard sell to expect someone to shell out $450+ for a scuffed up unpackaged floor model which may or may not work properly. That is the impression I was left with.It is what it is I guess! Happy with the shoes I bought but will look elsewhere for gym equipment.

Retail Customer: Someone has already said it - this is not a Sporting Goods store; this is a clothing store - a lousy one. I found only one brand of the item I was searching for. Only one model, with a poor feature set, high price, and the zipper didn't work. Loud, offensive rap (e.g. anger) "music" blaring from overhead. No employee participation. No reason to ever go there. I left.

Bryan Crigger: Had a wonderful experience here when I was buying a bike for my daughter. We got helped by Lauren in the bike department and she was so cool and helpful. She got us the best bike for our money. We were looking at one that would have fit our daughter, but she showed us how another one would get us the same result at about 30% cheaper. Since she was so cool, I decided to go ahead and get myself a bike and a bike rack for the car. Definitely swing by here for your bike needs and be sure to ask for Lauren. She is great!

t j: Bought a $90 basketball to have to return it because it was super lumpy and wouldn’t even roll in a straight line, replaced it with another, same problem. Then tried to get shoes but they only had one pair in the entire store over size 10. If I wanted to try some on I’d have to buy them and order them to try on but I could return. Sorry I’m not going to drop $700 to just try some shoes on to see if they fit. Being able to ship to store and try on so they’re never in my possession should be a very easy option. If I didn’t want to drop $700 to try some on I guess I could go one by one and maybe find a shoe that fits 3 weeks from now. But no I just went somewhere else. But if you’re not going to keep anything in stock and make them buy online why even have a store?
mommy vaj: Drove an hour & 30 minutes to this location since they have my husband’s running shoes in stock. The store itself is well organized & clean. However, the service wasn’t so great. The lady at the shoe department was just talking to this customer the whole time. When we needed help for shoe size she kept saying she will be right there. We were in the store for almost an hour & just walked out. Wasted of time!
Brandon McCarty: really disappointing visit. I arrived at the store, and tried the e-bike “demo” they had on display. After riding it for approximately 20 seconds, a short lady with short hair very rudely asked me to get off, saying that it wasn’t a toy after learning that I wasn’t gonna buy one at that moment. It’s a demo. It’s meant to be ridden. This negatively impacted my experience at the store, and I left immediately after. All the other workers were very helpful other than that.
Sofia Kerns: Great sporting goods store!!! Kid friendly and a batting cage up on 2nd level!!! We love this store for kids shoes and clothes!! They have everything you need in the sporting world!!

My husband and I both work on our feet and are picky with shoes so we tried on quite a few pair and before we knew it it was time for the store to close. She did not make us feel rushed and provided a great shopping experience even though we felt bad for being there past closing.

Randy Silver: Wife and I purchased two e-bikes at REI Northlake. The staff in the bike department were fantastic with a special shout-out to mechanic Darrin. He came out of the shop to answer all our questions and patiently described each bike we were looking at. In the end he made the sale and we are very satisfied.
Naomi Menard: Went into the store to buy my son all the things he needs to go backpacking with Boy Scouts for a long weekend. After waiting for 25 minutes for someone to help us, we left. Very disappointed in the employees who preferred to ignore us instead of help us. We even walked up to employees and asked for help while at the hiking backpacks and no one showed up. There were plenty of employees walking around who were not busy.

Everyone in store is very helpful and generally love where they work.When only the best will do.Still love thie store but depending on your starting point, you might check the Pineville store, it's absolutely worth the extra 5 to 10 minutes driving. This location is half the size of the Pineville store.

Louis Asbury: Ben and the team are great. They've helped me build up 3 bikes now. Most recently I purchased a road bike from them, which "off the shelf" didn't meet my requirements, however, they listened, worked with me and delivered an exceptional product. Let them know your budget, and they will work with you to get the best possible setup.
Brian Beckstein: I purchased my first road bike from Bicycle sport and had an awesome experience. After purchasing my next bike, I wanted Ben to make some adjustments to the seat and pedals. Every time I called he was “busy and unable to take my call”. I left three messages asking to call me to set up a time I could come in so Ben could make the minor adjustments to my bike set up. Unfortunately, Ben was to busy or maybe unwilling to help out. Disappointing on the service I received. Just needed a few minutes…
Amy Reese: Took a wheel in to get it true and spokes tightened. Was given a call and they said the hub was messed up which it was not. Asked them not to do anything to hub. Went to get wheel back was not even at store. The guy had it at his house and had taken hub all apart. Will not recommend to go unless you want to spend a lot of money to fix a problems they made. Now we have to buy a new hub.

Mia M: I bought a bike from Walmart that cost me $90. Someone just had to set it up (put the front wheel which costs $10, and tight everything up). So I left the bike at this store and they told me it’s gonna be $10. Today when I got the bike, they said it’s $75 because “there was a lot of work.” Its a brand new, never used bike, and for me this is a basic theft. A guy who delivered my bike (Fabian is his name I think) is really nice and kind and was willing to pick up and drop off my bike. But to pay from $10 to $75 is really ridiculous. There is no way that’s that expensive.
N D: The owner Ben and the team were super helpful to me when I visited for a MTB bike fit recently. My wrists are no longer sore after riding after a few adjustments to my bike, and I got some recommendations for other local routes to ride. I'll be back for all of my bike needs and I highly recommend them!
Shanna Smith: Bike Sport is always super friendly and helpful whether over the phone or in person. Their mechanics are trustworthy, really know their craft, and stand behind their work. Sure, there are other great bike shops.... I purchased my bike at a different shop (and they were good), but I prefer the experiences I've had at Bike Sport. It just feels more personal, sort of a family-like connection if you will.

Peter Lang: I went here today looking for a couple specific items. They didn’t have everything so I only bought valves. They were busy so it took a while before I was helped, but Carol was very nice, friendly, and helpful.
Chris Guella: I happen to live near this shop but would travel to get there. The guys that work there ride and that means they know what they are talking about - and the techs have been there forever. Some stuff is a little high end but there are choices down the line. I picked up a sweet Gary Fisher mountain bike for a healthy discount last year during the holiday sale. I also bought Sidi road shoes there 8 years ago that I still use - so quality pays anyway in the long run. And unlike the other reviewer I came in with a small problem and got help right of way saving my ride that day with no attitude. Recommend.
Ethan Albrecht: The model for every LBS. I'm in from out of town and had my hydraulic brake dump pressure. Ben, the owner, picks up the phone BEFORE THEYRE EVEN OPEN and tells me to bring it on by and they can bleed the brakes right away. This is despite, like all other bike ships, the huge workload in the service department. He gets it back to me same day and saves my trip. And then he's even nice enough to recommend sick routes in Asheville. The world needs more shops like this. If you live here and you don't go here, you're wrong.

I asked if it would be okay to bring him with inside and that if not we would just leave him at home. The employee who I spoke on the phone with said that it would be fine if we brought him in. To our surprise, the manager blocked us from coming inside, and we had to leave. We definitely will not be shopping at this REI location anymore!

Jonathan Silva: Went into the Pineville REI store a few weeks ago to buy some clothing. In the 20 minutes I spend in the store I was asked 8 times “Can I help you find anything?” That’s every two and a half minutes somebody was asking me.As customer service this is annoying. Leave me alone and I’ll spend more money.As a loss-prevention tactic this says “We see you and we don’t trust you to be here unsupervised.”The store was a mess anyway and items weren’t organized very well. Will drive across town if I need to go to REI in Charlotte again.

Noel Thaniyath Gopi: As always customer service amazes me. Went in dead set on a specific jacket and rain jacket. But was advised that size doesn’t come in the brand I was looking for I was pointed to an amazing other brand. Helped me find matching colors for layers etc ask for SYDNEY she will. Not steer you wrong!
Steve Adams: Super friendly and helpful staff. Very knowledgeable too. They actually take time to discuss your needs/wants and guide you in your decision. Very big difference from the usual retail experience at other stores where employees just dumbly point to another part of the store so they can go back to their mouth breathing.

Devin Gibson: Terrible customer service. I was attempting to do an even exchange for a Stanley Cup I bought a few weeks ago. It was the same exact cup but the manager was attempting to charge me due to inflation from Stanley cup. When I tried to explain that the cup I previously bought would be able to be sold at the new price, he began to mansplain inflation to me. I grabbed the cup I was attempting to exchange and respectfully walked out as he continued to talk to his employees about inflation and how dumb I was for not understanding. Rob belongs exactly where he works.

Robert Meeks: The staff has been very quick and helpful the last couple days while I got geared up for a ski trip. I did an online pickup one day and then had to come back for a size exchange on the bib I got and it was all very pleasant and smooth with no issues. Kassidy Barrier: Came in to try on a few different sneakers brands and get a feel for what I want for my new job. Luckily the modeled shoes were mostly all my sizes because there were four or five different employees standing in the shoe section just blank staring at me, or playing on their phones. Not one of them came up to offer any type of assistance at all. After 20 min of trying on different shoes I left because no one would help me. Not giving my money to a company that has employees like this, sorry.
Walter Ski: Nice store, a little puzzled on the DSG clothing line, seemed good quality, decent styling, at fair price, but who wants to wear the logo DSG on their clothes?? Maybe an innocuous generic logo could work. Hey Sam, Not DSG I am.
