Cape Fear Valley Emergency Department: what do users think?
Noah H: First off, the trauma team was 10/10 and i cant stress that enough. One of them even came by to check on me after his shift was over. Where the issues began were once i wasn't in critical condition anymore, and got moved to the “private room”. To put a long (12 hour) story short, nobody ever cleaned my wound that was packed with mud and swamp water, when i asked for water they came back with ginger ale instead and said they hope thats alright, and then left the room. I asked to speak to my provider no less than 5 times, and still never got to speak to them. It wasn't until the last 30 minutes when i told them i was leaving that i actually got someone to clean my wound, and then proceeded to tell me they dint offer anything for pain management, and that i should go to Walgreens to get some ibuprofen and clean dressings. This wasnt something light either. I was rushed in the bed if a truck to an urgent care, where they did a great job (i wasnt exactly conscious and dont know the name of the place), and then the ambulance came to pick me up from there and was running code the whole time.If you’re actively dying, its a great place to be. The trauma team is fantastic and i cannot compliment them enough. But the moment you cross that line of actively dying, forget about getting treatment from the rest of the hospital.
Leesa B: I came in for pregnancy cramps and still wasn’t seen after being there for hours cape fear will let you and you baby die !! Please find another emergency room to go to if you can .. I walked out and I am still in pain because it seems like the staff doesn’t care. They would rather sit around and talk amongst eachother & not help the patients but yet they want to tell you to stay in you seat the chairs are too uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time ..
Gina C: So it's... Half/half. The staff in general were very nice. My er doctor listened and I wish I could remember her name, but my blonde CT tech was amazing and really helped when I was falling apart. Now, my issue - for being at a 9 on the pain scale my wait was extremely long and I was only offered Tylenol. I made it clear I didn't want heavy narcotics but I wasn't offered more than 400mg of Tylenol when I was curled up bawling in a wheelchair. Also, my husband wasn't allowed with me when I saw 3 other couples in there. I did also tell them my pain was radiating and I was having chest pain (I have heart issues) and was just told to breath.. I hate when people tell me that. Over all, I would go to hoke over this hospital but it wasn't horrible. Though.. I still left in pain and was very upset my husband had to be in the car and so was he. Also to add, I was dehydrated and hungry and wasn't given any fluids the whole time. Because of my heart, whenever I'm in the er I'm given fluids, even my blood tests showed it and I just had to sip water through my nausea because of how bad my pain was.
Layla Mcclaine: Definitely wouldn’t recommend going to if you are going to the er simply because of the long wait. The labor and delivery as long with pediatric care have been amazing. I had my babygirl 6 days ago, came in to get induced Friday had babygirl Saturday night and was there for Sunday and got released Monday. They were amazing and really helpful when it came to things I didn’t know or struggled with. Unfortunately babygirl ended up having to come back Wednesday due to temperature being low and not being able to get it back up, still here and don’t get released until possibly tomorrow but they’ve taken such good care of her and have been really helpful and communicative with my fiancé and I, only had an issue with one nurse due to lack of communication. Thank you so much!
Raa'd Al-Rubaye: The worst hospital I have seen in my life in terms of treatment and cleanliness, especially emergency
Amanda Hughes: If you ever have the misfortune of having to go here ask for Dr. Brad. Two of the times I was here he diagnosed me correctly both times. His first diagnosis was gastritis. Someone in urgent care got mad at his diagnosis because "no tests were run." She then tried to prescribe me medication for IBS which could've blurred my vision. However after going to cape fear gastroenterology I had an endoscopy done and they did find the gastritis. My guess is he knew that phentermine can cause gastritis which I was on at the time. Turned out my gastritis was from a gallstone though. I was miserable a few days ago from Wellbutrin raising causing sinusitis and the headache meds he gave me got rid of my headaches. I found my old paperwork from last year today and turns out I'm supposed to be on Zoloft not Wellbutrin but I had forgot and asked a doctor online for Wellbutrin. I quit the Wellbutrin. Took the meds he prescribed and had the best sleep ever last night.
Megan Hunter: We’ve had really great experiences here including stitching my 2 year old’s face up. However, I took the same 2 year old in on Saturday as he had been running a fever for several days and Tylenol hadn’t been helping. He had vomited once a few days prior. They ran a COVID and flu test, made sure he could keep liquid down and said he’s ok and could return to daycare once his fever was down for 24 hours without the use of Tylenol. Fast forward to Tuesday, still running a fever. More vomiting. Inconsolable. My pediatrician was available so I took him back in. He was positive for Strep, so we ended up going 3 days undiagnosed and untreated for strep. Meanwhile. My poor kid was just miserable. The care was caring and considerate, but, they just dropped the ball. Also, does it hurt for the doctors to check a patient’s gender before they go in? My baby is 9mo but was called he/him the whole time the doctor was in. Even after I corrected to her and he looked in her diaper. Just a lack of attention there.
Urbina Ulloa: Don’t go here. See your pediatrician, drive to first health or anywhere else. Waste of time and money - clueless doctors.
Kasha Holland: By far the worst ever. There was a man I was asking for information or a number to the children hospital emergency from the information line and he refused to give me the information or transfer me.I kept asking for a number and he said he couldn’t transfer me verse saying he don’t have a number. Than he said he has a number but can’t give it to me.I really think they need to get a staff that can comprehend and who competent to receive information and understand how to interpret a good response. When we talk about children and a ER i should be able to talk to someone who actually can answer my questions.
amini vr: TERRIBLE ATTENTION!!! Don’t go there if you don’t want to die in a waiting room. Since 10am no doctor saw me by 9pm still. I had to leave this place dehydrated and starving!!
Sophia Goldsmith: If you’re wanting to waste your entire day in the waiting room, this is the place for you.
Akia Sharpe: Never again! I’ve been here since 930 am it is now 726 pm no pain management no nothing. They didn’t even check to see how I was feeling. The worst place I’ve ever been in. They call the same people name over and over for hours and those people have clearly left. On top of it all they have me in the room( female) with abdominal pain in the same room with a male. This place is trash
Niurka Rosario: Horrible Horrible place, I went there yesterday morning 2/28/23 and the treatment was brutal and disrespectful. I was left untreated doubled over in excruciating pain for over 5 hours and all they did was offer me a Tylenol. The staff will literally walk right passed you as you are screaming in pain while they joke amongst themselves. The bathrooms are always filthy and the wheelchairs are always broken. I asked for assistance to the restroom and one of the nurses told me I could walk ( as I was hunched over in pain) and refused to help me from my wheelchair into the restroom and just abandoned me in the middle of the hallway doubled over in excruciating pain. The staff should be fired and that place should be shut down.
Adventure Guy: Worse service ever 12 hours in the ER room and no one gives two f%%%s abt no one could have drove to Charlotte and went to hospital there and came back to Fayetteville in less than 5 hours horrible hospital don't know why it's the only one in Fayetteville guess that's why they take advantage of patients
Gina Palumbo: *Edit: I called the customer number that the hospital has provided to other negative reviews with. What a waste of time just to be told by them and the triage receptionist that we were free to leave and would receive test results via the portal and would NOT talk to the doctor personally if we did. We could then discuss the results with our primary care physician. The reason we needed to wait for a room (even if not being admitted) before the doctor would discuss results is "just in case" they need to do any additional procedures AND for privacy reasons. I guess you have to wait over 8 hours for them to think about additional procedures instead of talking to you in the private rooms in the ER? 🤔As I'm sitting in the parking lot, waiting on answers besides "you can come in when we have a room for him". They've done some tests and still haven't communicated anything with my fiancé. I'll be looking up a way to express the lack of communication and care to a medical association once done with this review.
Sylver. Claire: It's going on to 12 hours since I checked in. This is crazy, it not first comes goes first no it's who ever is injured more goes first. I get it but making me wait about 12 hours is crazy to get info.
Cody Chellman: I’ve never been this upset and disappointed in medical professionals as I was last night. My 5 month old is having trouble breathing with bad congestion. After our near 4 hour wait, the PA tells us, “baby’s get sick and this will probably get worse”. Since she wasn’t running a fever, nothing was done. No advice on how to remedy the chest congestion. No idea if she has some sort of virus/infection. We were told to try to get her to sleep in her car seat. After that, we were discharged. Thanks for absolutely nothing. A one star review is generous. I feel sorry for the families who have to go here.
Alicia Batres: I need to find a different hospital. Been waiting to be seen for over 8 hours in counting. 8 asked to see how much longer I was told they don't work like that. I'm gonna die in the waiting room before being seen. And nobody cares.
Brittany Creque: If I could give this place 0 stars I would! My mom was sent here from Urgent Care and she has been waiting for nearly 9 hours!!! How ridiculous is that?!
Justen Miller: Worst hospital I have ever been to. My wife was taken by ambulance yesterday and they still made her sit in the waiting area in pain for hours after the Dr that sent her told them she needed to be seen immediately. And the cleanliness of the hospital is disgusting. Even in the NICU it was nasty. Definitely would drive a hr away to a different hospital than ever let my family be seen there again
Viktoria Poniava: The worst emergency room I have ever been to. Sat in the waiting room for 8 hours and never saw the doctor. They do not care about you and rather have you wait till you give up and leave. I will never go there again.I got the bill 1300$ thanks got my insurance covered it. They just charge the money but didn’t help me at all

Fayetteville Urgent Care: what do users think?
Angela Williams: Best service!
King Laura: Bad
Contrela Terry: The front desk is great first time being here I know it’s going to take awhile mind you I’m the only one in here ready to be seen the doctor had a friend come over take her to the back have an hole conversation and while I’m writing this they still back there laughing whil I’m sitting here in pain
Marilyn Nater: My name is Marilyn Nater, I was in the clinic 3/21, I was feeling so sick, and since the moment I enter the door every member was so warm, sweet, respectful, caring, is the best feeling I ever had ever in a clinic in Fayetteville since I got to NC in 1994. My two daughters have serious health issues, therefore, I have been to a lot of clinics. But today I felt that I was just not a number but a person that these staff members care for. They made everything so easy. The place was so beautiful and clean, it has been so long since I have not seen in a clinic children’s books, WOW that blow my mind. It felt cozy , is the most cozy clinic I have ever been too. PA Bruce was truly a blessing, so knowledgeable, caring, wow it was truly amazing, PA Bruce is truly a model of what a Doctor should be in every sence of the word. I will never visit other Urgent Care than this one. The BEST
Le'La Phelps: Staff very nice and overall sanitized
Brianna Velazquez: My son & I were seen by at this office yesterday for Covid like symptoms. The entire staff was amazing. Extremely patient & informative. Will definitely be returning
Frankie Williams: The front desk staff was very friendly and quick with what I needed. They called to follow up and check on my wife which some urgent cares do not do.
Jessica Trujillo: Thankful they were able to see me last minute, even though they were getting ready to close. Samantha and Brenda were very kind and truly cared to make sure I had a smooth experience while I was not feeling well. Thank you so much.
Lea McReynolds: The front desk and the Physician Assistant we're very pleasant. The triage person needed an attitude adjustment, not personable at all.
Brenda Puga: As part of the New staff we are making positive changes. We have improved tremendously with wait time from checkin to checkout. Walk-Ins are welcomed! We currently offer Covid Testing through AccuReference Lab. New Office Hours are as follows: Monday and Friday 9am-6pm. Tuesday and Thursday 9am-730pm. Closed Wednesday. Holiday hours may vary.
Jonathan House: Please don't trust your health to this place.
honie: This urgent care facility is horrible I would not recommend to my worst enemy. They are extremely slow don’t share results over the phone , inconsiderate of people time and money. They will have you waiting hours after your appointment time just to even get to the back it’s unbelievable that they even consider themselves urgent care. I rate 0 stars and will not be returning I would like to complain to who ever owns this office or the city because they need to be closed.
Timothy Coleman: The most slowest urgent care I have ever dealt with ... i do not recommend this to anyone ... unless you want good ac other then that ,they tried to tell me I couldn't use my insurance without card but have all my information to give , idk bout you to me that seems like they are lazy and do t wanna do what they get paid to do ... Do better ...
Kam Jones: I had the worst experience at this urgent care Marie at the front desk is VERY rude and impatient, she has a bad attitude every time I visited this place and I only been twice. She made me feel very uncomfortable when all I needed to do was pick up my lab results for my pregnancy, she insisted I sign myself in when I didn’t need to because I’ve gotten seen already I tried to explain that to her but she just couldn’t understand that, she also stated “she didn’t know me” when I told her I was Ms. Jones picking up which caused us to get into an argument. Marie doesn’t need to be at the front desk with that type of negative energy. But on the other hand Ms.Neasha the PA of the facility was very nice, sweet and patient with me she got the job done I appreciate that but I won’t be attending this facility anymore.
Joshua Bodoh: Wouldn't take me in because I didnt have a North Carolina ID...
Jay Balogh: Terrible experience. Before you book an appointment here keep in mind that the wait time is 2-3 hours WITH an existing appointment!! And apparently that’s normal here.. If you like when people waste your time, this is the place for you. Otherwise, avoid it!!!
Shavonda Brice: I would have giving this no stars at all, Front desk very rude. I was trying to book a new patient appointment, she was very nasty with attitude. So happy I look at reviews. This is also the reason they have an 1.6 rating. Need new staff
Mike Fraser: Appointment was at 1030 for an employment eval. I've been left to wait in a room, moved to another room and left to wait some more. No one's in a hurry, doctor and staff are discussing patient medical matters loudly and openly in the hallway. One of the rooms I was left to wait in was not even an exam room. Computer was left open and unlocked, I'm sure contained patient private info, leaving it vulnerable. So many HIPAA violations. The doctor, on multiple occasions has come to my room by mistake. Going on 2 hours for a simple eval, and still here I wait. Most unprofessional office I've ever seen. Will be notifying HIPAA for an audit.
DELISA JOHNSON: This place is horrible. Went in for Urgent Care and waited over an hour just for the front desk to ask me was I a new patient and give me paperwork to fill out. Another hour later and I still had not seen the doctor. I finally asked for my paperwork back and left. I should have went to the ER.
Mecca Hopkins: The front desk nurse LATASHA PATTERSON was very unorganized. I had issues with my LHI appt because she lied and told the Health Readiness Program I left before the lab results were completed. I spoke to the supervisor Mrs. Fondinka and she told me that Latasha thought I was someone else. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNORGANIZED.But Mrs. Fondinka did get to the bottom of everything and it was handled but I will be notifying LHI not to send anymore soldiers here anymore.
Tom Belcher: Avoid this facility. The level of "care" is laughable. I arrived 20 minutes early to my appointment. An hour after the scheduled time I was told that they hadn't gotten to me yet.And hour and a half after my appointment time, I was finally triaged by an orderly (I hesitate to use the word nurse.)After two hours, she returned and curtly announced "I GUESS I'll take your blood now," as if carrying out the assigned functions of her job was taxing beyond belief. Now, two and a half hours after my appointment time, I'm still waiting alone in an exam room with no doctor, no idea when I'll be seen, and no reassurances from any of the staff that this is an abnormal condition, or that they would care if it was.
