From the small classroom sizes, one on one support, top notch teachers and aides, all the way up to the most amazing principal and admin staff (you too, Mr. Rob)…The School of Hope has it all. Amanda McLaughlin: This school is awful. They claim to care about your children and their education, yet they can’t even respond to the parent about simple things like homework. They are so disorganized and don’t know which way is up. They definitely don’t want the parents to be involved. They just expect you to drop them off and treat them like they are a babysitter. My son didn’t show up to school and they didn’t even call to make sure he was okay or why he wasn’t there. That is only a few of the problems I have had.

For my almost 3 years of being at this school it has completely ruined my life and my childhood I will never see my life the same ever again, to the bullying to rude staff this place should be shut down as it is a never ending bottomless pit of death. The teachers and staff do absolutely nothing when people are bullied, discriminated ex. The teachers are very impulsive and wrong minded individuals. It makes me think that they just hire anybody. The amount of racism in this school is very uncalled for but reporting many situations myself it never was bothered. All the student are very inappropriate and racist. Please DO NOT In role your child in this school if you don’t want them to be suicidal.

Dannie “Sway_Jazz.Sax” Mcdon: This place has an outstandingly disgusting staff/teachers. As a former students of alpha academy that has attended this school under a year ago,I find myself soaring higher in my academics in my current school. The teachers do not respect their students, and they don't listen to the child even though they have a valid point. When the parents get involved with the teacher, the teachers act like goody two shoes and blame everything that has went wrong in their classroom on the student. When the parents and Teachers have arguments, the teacher takes their anger out on the student while they are at school and the parents are not around to witness this type of verbal and metal abuse.

JD_Predator1998: My parents wanted to do what was best for me but all they did was help me open my eyes about what was one of the worst ideas they have ever made. This is the worst school out of every school I've been to, and the teachers are very rude and belligerent. You want what's best for your child, keep them away from "Alpha" Academy before you end up torturing their lives just like mine were.

bryan marzolf: My daughters first week of school her teacher called her slow for not having her sentences done fast enough. Her daycare teacher heard the whole thing. Mind you my daughter is 6 and is dealing with a heavy emotional burden for her age. I am pulling her out immediately and highly advise to never send your child here.

We were there for a few months before moving and my son loved it! Communication is very well! I'm excited to follow Alpha from afar to see how they grow. This is far better than the public schools in Hoke county!

Shavon Franklin: The learning environment is amazing, my daughter was a challenged and my other daughter improved a great deal when we selected this school. They are adding sports programs; however, I feel they can do a better job with their soccer team which seems a little unorganized. Also enrichment classes are scarce or nearly non existent. Art, Music, PE was not what I expected it to be. I was interested in the idea of a guitar and martial arts that was advertised when I first enrolled them, but haven't heard anything about it since. Otherwise, it's growing and I can't wait to see what more it has to offer, I will be patient with the process.

gloria ingram: It was terrible because my daughter had to struggle between the teacher switching schools. She struggle in science because she had 3 teacher befor the 2nd quater. And the principals were rude and disrespectful.

Kai Gobig: There is no buses and you get stuck in traffic jams on the 401 I think that I’m going to remove my child and go to another school you stay in that traffic jam for 30 minutes it’s not worth it I have been trying to get my child on the bus but I never gotten any information on how to do so I live like 3 minutes away but traffic is too much and instead that 3 minutes turns into 30-40 minutes not a good experience so far

Mocha Cariballo: Every parent wants what’s best for their child, education being at the top of the list. I against my own better judgment decided to enroll my children into Alpha Academy, what a horrendous mistake! From the beginning of the school Year until the very end I thought we had jumped in a tar pit and We found ourselves pressure cooking everyday. My children came from a school of qualified professional Educators where they maintained A/B averages. We’re in Stem Programs and a safe environment conducive to learning experiences. They loved school and were awarded perfect attendance and given achievement awards. At Alpha Academy they were exposed to unqualified caregivers holding teacher positions. You can say as long as a body was in the building it’s school as usual. My children’s homework was lost on a regular bases by these caregivers, affecting their report card grade then later found in a pile on the corner and Grade never changed. A lunch bag was in the middle of the floor, and it was kicked at my child by a teacher. I had to call several times and then made a visit to speak with the principal which used the so called resolving method of remediation. Talking things out led to a years worth of chaos and lies. there were never solutions, just patching up and brushing things under the rug, just to keep the parents under control. The school name is a disgrace, there is nothing Alpha about it. I have met with The Superintendant over numerous of times regarding bullying from students as well as teachers. I even had to go as far as contacting the board of directors. On one occasion I met with the Superintendant concerning my child not being allowed to go to the restroom during certain times of the month. I had to pay a special visit to the doctors office to get a dr.’s note to give Alpha Academy’s front office for her to be able to go to the restroom when necessary. My youngest child was sent outside without a coat in below freezing weather, and then when the teacher was questioned why, “ she says where she’s from kids go out all the time without coats”. Also there was an incident where a student told my child that she was going to be beaten up until she dies. Principal nor the superintendent did nothing. I met with them and again all they did was remediation and the bullying continued. It continued all the way until the end of the school year. I tried to give the school the benefit of the doubt. I should have gone with my better Judgement from the beginning. My children hated Alpha Academy everyday. Sometimes crying on the way to school. Many things are judged. I have removed my children from Alpha Academy never to return again. I encourage anyone that cares and wants the best educational experience , loving environment and respectful atmosphere to choose another school. I drop the mic.

KHYONE or YONE: As An Past student at Alpha I believe That Treatment And Then the conflict Between Students And Teachers Are unexeseptable. It’s So bad To the point that it blocks Our learning Exsperience. I was An 7th Grader There And Will Never Go Back Again!

Gerome Q. Banks: Most of the year, the school has been ok. They have a rigorous academic standard, great sports program and plenty of extracurricular activities for the kiddos. But at the end of the year, something's not right. My sixth grader currently has an A in math, is a bright girl, but an end of grade math assessment has identified her for summer school. But it's not just her. All but four of her classmates have also been identified for summer school. Something doesn't pass the smell test. After expressing my concerns, the administration will not return my messages of concern.Update: After getting to speak with the staff, they informed me that the summer school was not mandatory and as long as my sixth grader met all the yearly requirements, she would advance to the next grade.

T J: Feeling a little unappreciated as a sub for the schools. I go to work on time, but I don't get my full payment on time. It would be $300 short, $500 short...just over and over my check will be shorten. Already have to wait a whole month between payments to be paid at the end of the month, and bills are do right at the beginning. They don't reimburse you for your bill being paid late because they shorten your check by mistake over and over. It's disappointing 😕

richard bruton: It's in my opinion that this is the greatest county in North Carolina for education I may be bias because I work for this county but the school system takes pride in taking care of his children and safety in its children at school Also education is at the top notch for this school system.

B P: They send your children to another city to attend a poor rated school when you are distantly closer to a better school, and they give you so much pain when you are trying to send your children to a school with better ratings and environment!!!! Why send my child on a bus ride to a school that let other students bully and attack each other with minimal/ no consequences on top of having a roach and mold infestation!!! If I wanted them to go to that poor environmental school I would of moved in that bad area!!! It's all socially discrimination, it's truly unfair and out of line that this is allowed to continue, there are soooo many schools in Fayetteville why send them to another city? It doesn't make any sense, especially because it's not beneficial for the children at ALLL. THE ADMINISTRATION at that school is a joke and could careless about the progression of our youth.

Kristen Frost: Went for GED and I was even more then the time limit late because I couldn’t find the right building and they were very nice and still let me test. They are quick and easy to get in and out and it’s doesn’t take long to get started and once you’re done you can go without hassle.

FTCC has a very confusing website and trying to find information on courses, licenses, or certifications is impossible. The information, you can find, is in a .pdf. Why not provide the information, as a link, to better inform the public. The use, and institutional use of technology appears lagging when it comes to easily providing information to the public.
