M J: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Kevin was horrible. Spent a nice half hour chatting with the customer in front of us and they left happy.... spent 2 minutes with me. DID NOT have the VAN we reserved days prior... tried to replace it with a 16ft truck... USES WAY MORE GAS! Refused to compensate in any way even though THEY MESSED UP! AND THEN after I called him out on his BS... he REFUSED to rent me the truck! ALSO... Kevin.. you should clean up your office a lil' bit.. it's FILTHY!! Have a great day! 👍
Liz: Absolutely terrible equipment and service. The dolly we got to tow a car was broken, it took 3 people to try and get it to work. We were in a tight time frame so we couldn't take it back to exchange it. It took 2 more people to try and get the off after we moved. Bolts were falling out, the straps were messed up, every professional who saw it said it was the worst piece of equipment they had seen. Because of how long it took to load the car, we couldn't return it in time and they charged an extra $168 for it. Absolutely horrible service, unhelpful staff and the worst, most unusable equipment. Do not rent from here.
Dakota Dove: Book a reservation a month in advance for a 26ft truck. When we arrived to pick the truck up we were informed it would not crank, you can see by the obvious debri build up that it hasn't moved in a while. They were aware it didn't work but never once picked up the phone to notify us. We are now having to drive over an hour away to find a truck due to poor business handling by this location. They coule have called to notify us or have been working to find another truck to use. Instead they basically had an "oh well" attitude.If you are needing a one way truck and are on a time schedule, don't come here. It will leave you scrambling last minute to find another.

I had an injury the same day while moving my belongings into storage and in turn I was unable to drive the truck back to the same location. Kevin and I kept in contact regarding my injury status and didn't put any pressure on me whatsoever. The only negative aspect of the situation, was the $900+ charge from Budget HQ. They charged me for the 2 weeks I had the truck but was able to refund 13 days of the cost. My experience was great so I hope others have the same.
Brent George: Worst experience ever. Guy gave me a rental truck that was dirty, fluids were not at operating levels, truck broke down 150miles into a 3000mile trip across the country. Super long wait times. You would be better off spending your money else where. Save with budget upfront and you will pay it all twice fold on the tail end.
B. Y.: Budget Truck Rental customer service is terrible. First we rented a cargo van 2 months before we needed it. We show up to pick it up and are given a 12 foot truck. The reason we went with Budget was they had the cargo Van that was under 10,000 pounds gvw, and covered by our insurance. The truck we got was filthy inside and out. The cab had ants crawling all over the floor probably from the candy wrappers that were left under the seat. We also wanted to change are drop off location and the attendant told us we could take it back where ever we wanted. witch was not the case. We were lied to by the customer service representative we spoke with on the phone. The only good things were the truck didn't break down and we got about 20 percent of the cost back due to there terrible service. I will never use this company again even if the others are twice as much.

This wouldn't have been an issue except for of course, the website does not say that anywhere. It even automatically picked a different location for us to drop off at another store. So when we arrive and tell him the name under the reservation, the first words I hear are "Nope. We can't do that truck for you. No." Turning away customers and speaking to them so rudely when your business had outdated furniture and no lights? I'm surprised they haven't been shut down by now. When I walked in I really thought that this couldn't have been the place, it looked like it had been shut down for 20 years. Worst experience I've had out of any place I've ever been to.

I called the company over 15 times and each time they tell me the truck will be there in 20 min, 1 hour, 3 hours, and all these random numbers. By far been waiting for 20 hours. The people in this location were nice but the truck was broken and the company is unreliable with poor management and service.

Craig McManus: If I could give zero stars I would... This place is ridiculous. I made a reservation for a truck and trailer, to haul my car with, a week in advance. I went the extra step and called to confirm my reservation the day prior to pickup. At that time I was told that there were no issues and everything was good. The next day I show up and I'm told that they don't have a trailer for me. The guy just shrugs his shoulders very matter-of-fact like as if 'oh well'... I asked what happened, pointing out the fact that I confirmed my reservation 24hrs ago and was told all was good. He simply said he didn't know anything about that. About 30mins later, while I was making alternate arrangements, he finally said that he could get me a trailer sometime the following day. This was at 10:30am and he was unable and unwilling to resolve the situation even though he had the rest of the day to do so. Horrible.

mark Gilbert: Reserved a budget van 3 weeks prior, when I came to pick up the van I was informed that the staff rented it to someone else. Reservations at this location is a waste of time, it seems it’s first come first serve.
Mary Engleman: The place inside needs to be updated. It is not well ventilated or clean. I got a good price on the budget truck. My husband said the front driverz wheel was worn thin. I told the guy the light for the engine was on. It didn't matter. We could only drive the truck 60 miles per hour. If we drive it over 60mph then it shock so badly it made my stomach sick.

Katie Gomez: If I could put zero stars I would. I reserved a 26'foot over a month ago for an out of state move. Recieved multiple emails confirming and stating it would be ready for this day. At 1020 am I arrived at the building for my 11am reservation to be there in time for any paperwork or accessories needed. The front staff was extremely unhelpful and very rude, not even bothering to greet me. Once I stated what I was there for they then said they didn't have my truck due to one being in an accident and two others being filled with diesel when they shouldnt have been. Seeing how they knew ahead of time and never bothered to notify me was the most upsetting part. I called them 30 minutes later to ask if they had any other trucks that could be utilized in the area since I already paid for movers and the front desk said they would ask the area manager. After that they hung up on me without getting further information and I was out $500. I want to prevent anyone else from going through this experience and go somewhere else. Uhaul went out of their way to get me a truck the following day. You pay more but you get quality customer service.
angelique ekstrom: Showed up to pick up our rental truck that I reserved weeks ago for our move from NC to GA only to arrive and be told they do not have our truck and it’s not there problem. We are moving tomorrow, no call prior to us showing up no email canceling nothing, as soon as we leave they canceled our reservation.HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I highly recommend finding another budget rental dealer, the budget on Raeford and Skibo was amazing and even gave us a discount for all the trouble, I’d go there if I was anyone else thinking of picking up at the clifffale location.

Douglass Jeff: They actually let me borrow the plug adaptor. VERY friendly staff and accommodating.
Ashleigh Keator: After reserving a one way utility trailer 4 days in advance, on the day of pickup I was told that this location has never had a one way utility trailer. They were kind and found another location 30 minutes away to pickup the trailer in Dunn, NC. I called halfway up to the location, and the location was closed the entire week. I was told to call U-Haul. I spent 30 minutes waiting for a person, then to be told another 20 minutes later that there is not an option within 2 hours. I gifted the lawn mower I was trying to haul to the neighbors. Not worth over 2 hours of struggle. I would expect stock to be verified when booked in advance.
Dan Davis: Worst customer service ever! Now I know why I switched to Penske five years ago. I made an appointment two weeks ago for a hitch install on my truck for a quoted price of $127.00. When I showed up on the day of the appointment, I was told that my reservation was canceled by a store associate. After back and forth with the rude woman behind the desk, I finally got them to agree to install the hitch; however at 3 times the original quote I had received in my email 2 weeks prior. Rudest lady I’ve ever met in a customer service role. She did not even attempt to make it right; just blatantly said they would not install the hitch. If I owned this UHaul franchise, I would fire her. She has no business in a customer service role. I wonder how many other customers she has drive away with her snarky attitude. Stay clear of this joint. If you are military, go to another location.

Makeyla: I reserved a 20’ truck weeks in advance, the day of pick up I went to the counter and Walt had to call the previous renter since they had not yet retuned the tuck I reserved. He informed they would return the truck in 30 minutes (of course that was not the case). I had requested to pickup the truck at 7:30 and movers scheduled for 8:30. There was two individuals in line when I arrived at 7:13 they both had issues with their reservations so I did not make it to the counter until 7:48. After being told the truck I reserved had not returned Walt said they did not have any more 20’ or 26’ trucks in the area. But a 26’ truck Could be seen sitting right out the window so I asked “what’s wrong with that truck” to which he responded “that’s an in town truck” (my request was for a one war truck). So I asked can I get that truck and bring it back but do not charge me for the miles back Walt told me “no that’s an in town truck”. After about 15 minutes of standing at the counter with no solution and movers en route Kim walks over and says give her that truck (the one that could be seen out the window) credit her for the miles back and give her an extra day and don’t charge her for it. I highly recommend arriving early to this location since the Walt moves extremely slow and normally only one person works the counter so the line can get long plus there are issues with reservations. Thank you Kim for your assistance that day if it wasn’t for your help my move would have turned out to be an even more expensive and drawn out process!

The call rolls over to UHaul basic customer service/answering service. The woman that answered answered when I asked if they were opened today that they open at 9am[obviously she’s located in another time zone]. I made the call at 10:30am -1 1/2 hrs after suppose to be opened. I only said “Oh okay, wasn’t sure since this area was hit by Florence & there is do much flooding in the whole area]didn’t even say more[chuckling in my head]...)I called the next day. They were opened! Yea!!! I was asked what I needed it for(what I was moving). The local representative worked with me to get least expensive way & vehicle that I needed for a few hours.When I arrived the service was great, courteous, professional, friendly, & helpful. Picking up and dropping off was a breeze, even though they were very busy. They definitely know how to run a business smoothly & swiftly got everyone!Yes I will use them again. I recommend everyone to use them for all moving and transporting. They have all your needs in one place! They can even sale & install a hitch in your vehicle if you need one. They also have self storage units and u-box containers.A plus is UHaul which this one was listed offered 30 days free storage for those affected by Hurricane Florence.God blessStay safe

K&B Stevenson: Very poor customer service and I had to 0ay additional for insurance that I sent in that I already had.. I sent them over via email and they claimed they got it and stated they couldn't reimburse me "because that was last week " but we had the truck rental from Wed to Thursday and spoke with them and they just wanted to hustle us out of an additional $230 to shut us up they said it had to be sent in for review... then had every excuse on why "they couldn't refund it " but not one was valid.The rental was filthy cleaned it out myself and literally went through an entire container of lysol wipes... wonder if they ever heard of this COVID stuff going around.They had no care.Gave us an incorrect VIN and didn't match the registration so couldn't even work for the first 3 days we rented the vehicle because I am an owner operator and needed the rental for work and they gave our insurance agent an entirely different VIN 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️When they make any errors DO NOT EXPECT THEM TO TAKE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY... THEY WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM SAYING WHATEVER TO GET YOU OUT OF THEIR WAY AND ON TO THE NEXT and their excuse iut of it all is we are not actually part of Penske ... we just eent out their vehicles .Food for thought ... IF YOUR GOING TO TAKE THE RENTAL SIDE ON ... DO IT THE RIGHT WAY and run it as you would do if it were YOURS ... or don't offer it at all. Clean the vehicles after each use ?? This was caked on there not been cleaned ... if ever ...And certainly don't just lie to shut people up. Very disappointing

The other location uses lies and threats. Rent here! Trust me.

Went to get the truck, turns out they only had a 26 foot truck but didn’t tell us until we paid and signed the papers. I went back in there and asked if we could get a smaller one because this one just was way too much. We’re driving through the mountains in the snow, we didn’t need all that. She then told us it was actually a 26 foot truck once I asked why this was so big. Her reason for it was because they didn’t have a 22ft. So now we’re stuck with a 16 footer trying to make sure all of our stuff fit. What’s the point of reserving a head of time if I don’t get what I reserved? And the fact they didn’t tell us until we signed the papers, paid, and even asked if it was really a 22footer we just paid for. The smaller truck they gave us drives horribly, alignment is all off and has a constant ticking noise.Not pleased and disappointed.

The next day (today) they delivered to us the dolly's that we had reserved that they didn't have available when we picked up the truck.I could not recommend this location and this customer service any more than I am now. When I arrived to my destination illuhaul requested I return it over an hour away from where I was. I called and explained that was not in my contract and with gas prices I would not be driving over an hour to return the vehicle. I ended up returning it less than 5 minutes from my new home which was what I requested in the beginning.I immediately reserved another uhual as I had a lot of furniture that wasn’t moved the first time. I reserved this uhual a month in advance and today less than 24 hours before pick up I’m told I would have to drive to Raleigh to pick up a uhaul and then to another location to get the trailer to haul my car. LESS THAN 24 hours before pickup.Neeedless to say I am now out of moving I had to pay to secure my moving help loading and unloading. And now I have to be to my destination be Friday I am forced to now make other arrangements and wait.So not cool!!!!Instead of being rude find a sour ion it’s not the consumers responsibility to save Uhaul on getting the equipment to different locations. This is exactly what the local uhual dealers are doing,I will not recommend uhual to anyone.For me once shame on you foul me twice it’s my fault for trusting your company again.
