Saint Mary's School: what do users think?
Elizabeth Hall: Beautiful campus and grounds make this an oasis in the midst of a vibrant capitol city. I've been to many community events and am always impressed with the talent, poise, and excellence of student presenters, faculty expertise, and the welcoming and supportive atmosphere their staff provides. Several friends' granddaughters attend and they rave about the all-girls learning and living community, the rigorous academics, leadership opportunities at all levels, and experiential learning provided through internships, community service, educational travel, and real world collaborations. Brava, Saint Mary's!
Panowork.com魔鬼哥哥: I think it’s funny that so many girls complain about cockroaches but ignore that the problem comes from their cleanliness in their daily lives. Just like some of my tenants complained, it’s because they don’t pay attention to hygiene and eat in their bedrooms. All lead to the occurrence and consequences of the problem.I visited this school because my mother was going to apply for my cousin to study. After inquiring, the tuition fee was more expensive than studying at UNC.
Bacon Froyo: My cousin attends this school and has reported the mistreatment of her and her classmates. She has come home countless nights complaining about how depressed she feels when going to school. She is a day student and considering the amount of money her parents spends on tuition at this school, she should not have to feel worthless and mentally exhausted at all times.
Chanel Chamberlain: Guys DO NOT COME HERE! I saw a roach flying and it landed and bit the bug that was next to me smh I felt so bad for it. This place needs nicer roaches
Fabian Garcia: 0/10 DO NOT COME HERE!!! There were roaches and mice and they were just sittin outside, and as soon as i was gonna walk in, they warned me not to. I just ignored them because theyre rodents so when i walked into the building, the teachers started pulling my hair and one of them told me they wanted to peg me?!!?? what does that mean???
Wanda Plemmons: My granddaughter goes to boarding school at St. Mary’s and she loves being there. She recently told me that she loves having this experience.
A.E.B. Coldiron: Wonderful school with great traditions and an excellent education. Most highly recommended.
Eric San José: Easy to see right off of Hillsborough Street servicing Raleigh and the adjoining areas of North Carolina. This is a High School for girls which also runs a program for Carolina Ballet during the summer. The facility has some Civil War era buildings which are great to look at. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be going back.
Lukesw01 productions: Every Saturday I am imprisoned here, forced to learn a language I don’t appreciate. It’s a nightmare! Too much homework! I hate it! The classrooms are soooo dull to! JLSR or Japanese Language School of Raleigh is the WORST school ever!
Ginsy Barnes: Amazing and beautiful place to be! Incredible community full of love and support!
Madison Matal: Absolutely awful. The show has not even begun and people are unprofessional and rude. The house in the auditorium was open and we got kicked out and sent to another building until the show began. Seats were “reserved” by scarves and pies on seats before house even was open to all of us. They should be better. Especially considering how much they charge their students to even be here.
Gerald Monroe: Faculty are wonderful but administration has gone off the rails over the last few years. Not the place for anyone with any kind of handicap.
Marion Whatley: I attended St Mary's School and Junior College from 1960 to 1964. It was the best decision I ever made.
Whitney Rowe-Heldt: Nicests soccer fields in town!
Mary Seda: My granddaughter goes there and it has put a great influence on her I love it
Yueyang Yao: I just confirmed my daughter to study here for next four years, because I was really impressed by its good facilities and staffs. There are some other excellent Chinese students too, which have brought very positive diversity to the school. Good luck to my daughter! Here will be her second home.
Christopher Bush: Great staff , great students. Gave presentation.
Lisa Stallings: We have been more than thrilled that our daughters were able to attend Saint Mary's School. They started at the same time; one as a Junior and the other as a Freshman. They were apart of the boarding community and made wonderful, life long friends. They received great educations; our oldest attends The University of Alabama and our senior hasn't committed to a school yet. I would highly recommend any young girl who desires a great education surrounded by a community of friends and supportive teachers to consider Saint Mary's School.
Will Weatherspoon: Our daughter is a junior day student at SMS. The all girls community has been a perfect learning environment for our daughter. The small class sizes encourage participation in a supportive setting. The academic curriculum is challenging and our daughter has had the opportunity to take a number of AP and honors courses. As we begin the college search process, we are certain our daughter is well prepared for the next chapter in her life.Outside of academics, there are many social activities, athletic programs, clubs and volunteer service opportunities for the girls. The campus is beautiful and has a charming, small-college feel. We also love the many traditions of this 170 year-old institution!
Aurelia Monk: Saint Mary's is a special place - it is steeped in history and tradition, but very forward thinking on learning, teaching and leadership for young women such as our daughter who is a boarder. She has been very challenged academically and as a result, will join the alums before her as well prepared for college and the challenges ahead. We totally believe in and chose the all girl environment because it ensures a caring atmosphere while building confidence and self-esteem - it allows her to really be herself. Likewise, the day-boarding environment is a non-factor and has been a great experience for all the students as each person brings something to the other. She is absolutely at the right school.
Heath Hilliker: Saint Mary's is a warm and welcoming school that offers an abundance of educational opportunities and experiences for girls.

Governor Morehead School: what do users think?
Sheila Holly: Great directions to get to this school, they serve Blind and deaf-blind but when it come to upgrade like Perking and others school of the Blind. This school school is behind
Berry Bee: I do not attend Governor Morehead School, but I do attend Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy, and we interact with the students here and staff that were generous enough to share their campus with us. This campus is beautiful and is such a inspiration to be apart of helping their campus. Please North Carolina and people everywhere, do what you can for people everywhere that are Blind or Visually Impaired. As the common GMS slogan goes, "By Faith, Not by Sight"

Ravenscroft School: what do users think?
Eva Barkalova: This school has encouraged and helped grow students’ character and intelligence as a whole. The school has a very welcoming environment. Their athletics program also partially focuses on sportsmanship and new athletes can feel welcome into their sports.
Amy: We have had two kids enrolled at Ravenscroft for 13 years. One just graduated and is going to Wake Forest University, and one is a rising junior. We could not be happier with the quality of education and faculty, unique commitment to student leadership development, endless extracurricular opportunities, and meaningful, life-long relationships our family has built over the years there. As our kids prepare to go on to college, we look back and have ZERO regrets about our choice and financial commitment to such an incredible place - truly like a second home that has had a huge impact on who our kids are today.
Robin: I've been at Ravenscroft for 3 years, really can't complain
A Webb: Very nice campus!
kay Dudley: Ravenscroft is a great school! We feel extremely blessed to have our children here. The entire staff are qualified and have the children's best interest in mind. Since being at Ravenscroft, we no longer have anxiety wondering if the education and environment are right. We do however shed tears of JOY when we see how not only our children, but all the children grow. It is quite touching Education, professionalism of staff and administration, nurse and physician, security are all top notch! Only wish we had taken the step to join the Ravenscroft community sooner. You will not find a better school. Our children never complain of being bored. They are challenged and engaged in so many ways! Parent portal is a wonderful tool providing so much information about school. They do a great job keeping you informed. Also, the cafeteria is wonderful with many options for lunch. So, if you haven't toured the school, please do. You will instantly see the difference compared to other schools and you will long to have the opportunity for your children here. Again, I can't say enough about the greatness of the school.
Christina Woelffer: This is our first year at Ravenscroft (a 4th grader) and we are very pleased. From the caliber of the teachers and staff, to the excellent communication, to the extra seminars/speakers/workshops available to parents, to the top-notch partnership with the Social Institute, everything has exceeded our high expectations at every turn! We are very pleased.
Peggy Robbins: Ravenscroft has been one of our best decisions as parents so far. It has been a safe haven for my children to grow, learn, lead, question, and flourish. Ravenscroft focuses on teaching the whole child, while maintaining a challenging curriculum. The small class sizes, paired with dedicated teachers, really allow for my children to set personal goals and work toward being the best versions of themselves.Ravenscroft continues to evolve in order to equip our children to lead in an ever changing society. The leadership team & faculty values parent feedback, transparency, and innovativeness to progress as an entire learning community. We feel fortunate to be part of this learning community that values acceptance, inclusiveness, empathy, diversity, and growth mindedness, especially in today's society. We are grateful to part of such a progressive community of educators and would make this decision over and over again for our children and ourselves.
Lisa Sykes: I have 2 daughters who have been attending Ravenscroft since kindergarten. We have been very pleased with the schools ability to stay on the cutting edge. Where else can a student participate in athletics, fine arts, attend club meeting and be offered advanced coursework beginning in fifth grade with advance math all the way up to 12th grade with honors and AP courses. When it comes time to look at colleges there are 3 expert college counsellors who are assigned to students who walk them through the intricate process of essay writing and selecting the "right fit" of school to your student.Students are actively being taught to be leaders from kindergarten to 12th grade with the Lead from Here initiative and are encouraged to think "out of the box". There is no other place like it!
Julie Bardini: Our children have been at Ravenscroft since Kindergarten and Pre-K. They are now senior and freshman. We realize that our children spend the majority of their waking lives in school and with their peers and teachers/mentors/coaches and what a positive influence the Ravenscroft community has been in their lives. There is something there for every child and family to thrive. They educate the whole child with plenty of opportunities to excel in academics, sports, and/or the arts. Ravenscroft has partnered with the Center for Creative Leadership and has wovenextremely valuable leadership lessons into the community as a whole which is priceless for the future of everyone involved “Lead self, lead others, change your world”. We recognize how difficult it can be to raise children in today’s day and age and are so thankful that our children have had Ravenscroft as their second home and family. It does take a village!!
Vickie Adams: I am very pleased with Ravenscroft! My daughter is provided a rigorous education that I believe will provide her with the tools needed to compete in a global community. I am also impressed with the "Lead from Here" program in which students are taught leadership skills from planning their educational goals to serving in the community, but the best part about Ravenscroft is that the school makes my child feel at home and accepted...and that means so much to me!
Jean Mathews: Proud to support our amazing school and blessed to have both kids here. My son toured Cary Academy and did NOT get the same vibe he got at Ravenscroft! Both my kids LOVED RAVENSCROFT and so did we.
Juli Marty: From the first phone call to the admissions office to our son's now daily experiences with the staff and teachers, Ravenscroft has been warm, inviting and full of extraordinary care for our whole family. Their focus on the whole child is noticeable at every interaction and their investment in the Lead from Here shows their commitment to development in ways beyond the grade. Our son is thriving, loves going to school and is happy being a part of a family, the Ravenscroft family. We are blessed to have found a home that caters to all types of families and accepts the diversity necessary to really make learning a full experience.
Sung-Eun Yoo: Best school, highly recommend! Very happy with teachers and staffs!
S PTX: The educators are the ultimate in student development
Shelly Schiff: Ravenscroft builds a great foundation for each student to pursue their dreams!
Melissa Edwards: My son has great teachers who truly care. He is getting a great education!!!
MM Ellis: Ravenscroft continually strives for improvement — improvement in its teaching, learning, and application. It attracts and retains students from various racial, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds to provide its families with a complete, real-world education of the mind, heart, and body. Its students are citizen leaders as each grade level participates in service to the local and global communities they study. Ravenscroft provides a solid, lifelong education for the whole family.
Brooklyn C: Our child started here in the lower school, but we will be transferring to a more diverse school.
Michael Reives: Every staff member is genuinely invested into your child and the raven community
Jolly Rancher: I go to Durant, but my friend went to Ravenscroft and she said she got beat up there and the kids made fun of her clothes. :-(
Catherine King: My 2 sons and my sister's 2 sons are currently spread across the elementary, middle, and upper schools at Ravenscroft. This school is like going to a 5 star hotel. From the orderly carpool with staff directing traffic with a smile, to getting your kid into the classes they really want to take, to the 3 coaches and separate locker room just for middle school lacrosse and other over the top athletic perks, to the gorgeous library with free after school supervision, to the multiple city police officers protecting (not disciplining) students, the school has unparalleled services and facilities. The environment is sheltered and the kids are nice. In other words, the kids have an awesome peer group which includes advantaged and international students and some of the most talented, athletic, and gifted minority and economically disadvantaged kids in the area as well as their awesome parents (Ravenscroft has a huge fund for scholarships that other private schools in the area do not have). Unless your child is absolutely horrible, in my experience, and according to my boys, they will have accepting friends no matter race, handicap, economic situation or social impediment. If kids bully, hit, are caught doing drugs, or behave badly in school or out of school they are thrown out. Ravenscroft spends lots of money on the whole child including an extensive elementary to high school leadership education program "Lead from Here", a stunning arts program (visual, drama, orchestra, band), and an extremely well funded and well coached athletic program. When I walk through the upper school, I see kids quietly and seriously studying in study spaces during their required study halls, again positive peer pressure. Did I mention that they have brilliant teachers that care, who kids will remember for a life time? These teachers, from the elementary to the high school are passionate about encouraging and truly educating kids. These teachers won't take less than the best your kids can do, and will communicate and work on issues with you and the school guidance counselors. Did I mention there is a real nurse onsite everyday to care for sick children? She has multiple separate rooms with beds to care for children until their parents can arrive. Private school is expensive. If all you care about for your kid is a test score, then maybe there are other schools in the Triangle that would work (although academics are first at Ravenscroft and many kids have super high scores), but if you want your kid to be truly educated in academics, arts, athletics, and leadership for life with a group of great kids and passionate teachers consider Ravenscroft.

Nunoyrbizness Stopstalkingme: We have a high school daughter and an alumnus. Great, great place. So happy with the incredible quality of the teachers. The Fletcher Academy - Upper School Campus: what do users think?
Jeff Mandler: This is my 2nd year and am going into 10th grade I love the school and they helped me a lot and way better than public school but I wish Fletcher was free because we can't do as much fun stuff and Dr A and Ms. Peele are awesome
Izayzayw: Literally the best school ever! Like I mean you gotta focus and stuff but Mrs. Peele and Dr. A are the best administrators ever! I sadly moved which is why I can’t continue there but I do recommend to anyone who needs a school to help with students with learning differences. It is money well spent and I promise you will not be disappointed
Abby Perry: I’m sorry for those of you that got hurt by the staff and other students. But I never really experienced any of that. I think TFA is a good school for me to attend.
Katelynn (Kate): Fletcher is nice! They help me a lot! They are caring, and loving, don't talk nonsense towards them. They did nothing wrong! When I started there I was happy! And I am still happy to be apart of the TFA community. And guys, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it. It could be hurtful towards the school, and to the other students, it's rude, don't say anything negative about the school or the kids. It's just going to get you in trouble! When I was getting bullied there, they did something to help me. Don't take your anger out on them. They try their best and you know it! I am excited to come back to you TFA! Lot's of love!
Delaney Sanderson: Don’t take your child here. Your child deserves better. A lot of parents are unaware of what actually happens within the school. This school has to be the worst I’ve ever been in. They claim to help kids with learning disabilities and mental illness however that could not be farther from the truth. Many kids have reported being mistreated by a few teachers which I’ve witnessed. When I asked for support from the staff because another student was putting me in an unsafe and abusive situation and I was struggling with depression because of this, they told me to go to class and focus on work to get my mind off of the abuse rather than giving me the helpful resources they claim to provide to ensure the students’ safety. A lot of bullying and mistreatment from a few teachers was reported but nothing was done even when parents came forward and almost sued the school for the inappropriate behaviors of a few teachers. When I needed help from the staff and reported issues concerning my safety they didn’t do anything but they said they couldn’t help me until other parents were thinking about taking their kids out of the school and suing the school due to some homophobic incidents, bullying and harassment. There were no repercussions to the students who partook in these things or support or resources for the victims. I’m currently going to a much better school. Don’t take your child here. Just don’t. Don’t give this school your hard earned money. Your child deserves better.
Greg Oppenheimer: Fletcher is an excellent school for children who learn differently. Caring teachers. In 4th grade after 3 years at Pleasant Union Elementary School, my son’s handwriting improved dramatically in a few weeks. Great decision to send my son to Fletcher.
M T Scott: Truly an amazing place of learning, care, and growth. Our daughter attended for high school and her development and education at this critical time was made exceptionally better by the teachers, administration, and staff at Fletcher. And Graduation day was the most organized, well thought-out, and wonderful experience we have ever attended. Thank you to everyone at Fletcher!
Linda Donoghue: I have been wanting to review fairly, so I waited for two years after my son graduated from this school. The teacher:child ratio is fantastic and they really care about the students, the teachers are highly qualified. The administration I questioned at times. Teachers let go at the drop of a hat? The students going on to college, that is a concern. Many have problems and are not prepared. A 4 year college is nearly impossible, a community college is hard. Things to consider. 3 stars is high.
Venkatramanan Ardhanareeswaran: I went their last year and the teachers helped me out a lot
Jolly Rancher: I absolutely hated it here. I went for fourth grade and it was the worst year of my life. The kids are rude, cause drama, and made fun of me and bullied me. The teachers and administration were terrible. I can't even begin to explain how awful it was here, but never go here. Ever.
Andy Barnhart: We had one of our kids there a year and a half and it really turned him around and caught him back up with his peers. They do amazing things in the small ratio classes to cater to individual learning styles. They also keep parents very well informed. We decided to try another school with a little larger classes to see if he was ready. He wasn't. After a year somewhere else, we are going back to Fletcher again. They did not seem to take any offense at us trying to get him back into larger class settings and made it easy for us to re-enroll him when it didn't work out.
Teri Smith: We are so happy our son goes here. The teachers understand him and use all sorts of strategies to keep him learning and engaged. He gets individual attention and is thriving.

Trinity Academy: what do users think?
Sarah Dupree: Literally a joke of a private high school. My daughter doesn’t even know what a thesis statement is. Disgusting.
Caleb Sigmon: my children love it here
Home Instead: Wonderful school. Great Christian culture. great education for kids. The teachers all my children had are first rate!
Justin Hofer: The religious studies teacher is quite quirky, but albeit cute. Zay Todd go to school
Joshua Nelson: This is a great school. Great community and great people. Give this school 20 years and they'll be one of the most successful schools in Raleigh. All three of my kids go there and they get a wonderful education . I would definitely recommend this school.
Apryl Major: My son loves Trinity...they are his second family! You won't get a better, balanced Christian academic education anywhere in the Triangle. As for the modular classrooms used on campus, I believe Jesus would look past what's on the outside and rather look on the inside, at your heart. This is what matters most to God. Trinity is truly blessed!
P B: Amazing what our children have received in education and life lessons. In reference to the negative review from someone who has never had children attend Trinity - Since that review from three years ago, incredible construction has been completed of some beautiful facilities. However, if I had known the quality of the classical education and the foundations for Character they would receive, the beauty of the facilities would be the least of my concerns.
Wendy Schulz: Our family has been very blessed by the teachers of Trinity Academy of Raleigh. Our children have been encouraged, nurtured and taught by a group of teachers that truly care about them.
Stacy Gray: Trinity Academy of Raleigh is a Christian school that cares about it's students and has a true sense of community! Our children are getting a classical education, and learning how to strengthen their relationship with Christ! We pulled them from public school when we noticed that grammar, writing, spelling and cursive were being eliminated from the core curriculum. Trinity focuses on all of that plus teaching critical thinking, logic, and Latin from an early age. From the moment we stepped on the campus for a tour, we felt this was an exceptional and nurturing community that we wanted our children to be a part of. Now that we are on our second year here, we see firsthand how the teachers and staff truly care about each and every student. They will go above and beyond to help your child succeed not just academically but also emotionally! While it was a hard financial commitment to switch from public school to private, Trinity Academy has proven to be the right choice for our family and we love it!
Rebecca Smith: This school is amazing everyone there is kind and supportive!
Elizabeth Wagner: My son recently began attending Trinity and we love it! Yes, the classrooms are in modular buildings, but that pales in comparison to the wonderful people who run the school. The teachers are excellent and care so much about the children in their care. You really couldn't ask for a more loving environment. I am also very pleased with the curriculum and the approach to teaching. We feel blessed to be at such an excellent school.
Megan Clark: First off, let me say that every building on their campus, besides the gym, is modular (in other words - TRAILERS). They have a so called 20-year plan for a campus, which includes tennis courts, admin buildings, classrooms, etc...that's great, but why would anyone send their child to a school with only modular facilities, paying the going rate for a private school education? What a waste! I will be looking at other schools with more history and actual non-modular classroom setting. Additionally, the staff at the school seem flakey. The administrative offices lost our paperwork, delaying the admissions process by weeks. I think there are much nicer alternatives in Raleigh. Ravenscroft, North Raleigh Christian Academy, and St. David's are beautiful schools. Hey, maybe in 20 years right? Once the supposed_campus_ at Trinity is complete will it actually be something to look at...only my son will have been graduated and off to college by then. Thanks, but no thanks, Trinity Academy...good luck.

GRACE Christian School: what do users think?
Matthew Conley: Wednesday, 35-40 10th graders from GRACE Christian volunteered to help mulch our campus as we prepare for summer camp (New Life Camp) in North Raleigh.Grace Christian students did an incredible job. They helped us to accomplish weeks’ worth of work. The organization, work ethic and efficiency of this group says a lot about the teachers and administrators at Grace Christian and of course the parent supervision that you guys sent. We would love to have you guys out again in the future for community service projects.Thank you for serving our ministry at NLC,Matt Conley,Director of Operations at New Life Camp
Bob Dascombe: We highly recommend GRACE Christian School having just celebrated our 4th child's graduation! Our family has greatly benefited from having the wonderful faculty and staff pour into our children, not only academically, but more importantly, spiritually, teaching Christ-centered living over the past 20 + years.
blah five: We chose GRACE over 5 years ago while searching for a school that was able to balance: Academics, Positive Christianity, Extra-Curriculars (Sports, Arts, Technology, etc.), Character Development, and Family Atmosphere. We continue to be so thankful for the hearts of the teachers, who truly "get" our children and actually want them to learn and succeed. There is an attitude of respect for - and love of - learning that we were unable to find elsewhere.

St. Timothy's School: what do users think?
Felicia Trujillo: Exceptional. I can't rave about St. Timothy's enough. The academics, extra-curriculars, community, teachers and families are all amazing! Our children LOVE school and so do we!
Lynn Headley: St. Timothy’s School has been a wonderful experience for our daughter! She is thriving and it’s the perfect community for us.
J.K. Bodiford: I encourage you to speak with several other families, who have enrolled their children here at St. Timothy's. I am certain you will find that they overwhelmingly agree with our own experience. After four years as a St. Timothy's family, we cannot imagine sending our child anywhere else. We were looking for a school that not only gave our child a complete, traditional education, but one that fostered emotional and character growth. We found that and more at St. Timothy's. Grounded by a goal of whole-life preparation, St. Timothy's is exceptional in leadership development, character-building, community engagement and the fostering of Christian ethics. It has a rare balance of traditional, classic education and the real-life skills needed to prepare children for an emerging world. Our child is a stronger student, as well as a more rounded individual, who will be well prepared for the next phases of both academics and life.
Beth Lane: Great community feel where students and parents become part of a school family that gives your child the chance to grow their mind, heart and spirit. Every season and every year bring activities and traditions that weave dimension into the academic experience. The annual Fall Festival and field trip to Washington, D.C. were highlights for us. Small classes and great teachers were a gift to our child.
Apita: Worst experience ever. Kids are clique-y and are unwelcoming to new students.
Jim Cain: Parent - We spent a collective 12 years at St. Timothy's with two children. We knew we made a good decision but as time went by we realized we made a great decision. Not only do they have a strong academic program that prepared our children for high school, but the environment and the support by teachers, staff and fellow parents made it that more enriching. My daughter who is in college, reflects very fondly on her experience and visits the campus whenever she can. She calls several of the teachers "good friends" who she stays in contact with today. I applaud the work they have done and only wish they had a high school option!
Valerie Balestrieri: A bit like meeting that special someone- sometimes you just know. That was our experience after much research and touring multiple schools for our two boys. I am pleased to say we feel as confident in our decision today, as we did four years ago.The teachers are wonderful, and really get to know your child. Communication with the teachers and school is excellent. We like the ability based groupings within each grade for math and reading. The student can move to a different group during the year based on the child's needs. Preventing boredom, promoting challenges. All without endless testing. The after school program is great- many working parents here. The full time school nurse, caring teachers, sports, band, art... we feel fortunate to have found a school where our children are learning not only curriculum based concepts, but character building traits as well.
Luci Ross: Save your money. The public schools of Raleigh are much better and most wealthy parents choose to send their kids to public school. This school allows bullying and violence among kids too.
sonia areco de oliveira: Not impressed with St Timothy's school.Snobby people. Careless teachers. Bullies all over the school you don't want your child here. 450 students for 3 headmaster. My daughter was academically weak!!Run while you can!!Horrible experience
Heather Cunningham: Please don't send your child here!!! This school promotes bullying by punishing the child being bullied!! The teachers are careless and do not pay attention to the situations. Academics are weak at best. please for the safety of your child find another school.
Shannon Helm: St. Timothy's School is a hidden gem in Raleigh! Our children have thrived in the lower school and absolutely love coming to school. The teachers are very caring and supportive, and the individualized academic attention is wonderful! The after school care program is very strong with wonderful counselors who help with homework and lead structured activities. We highly recommend STS for those looking for a school with strong academics, a strong community with parent involvement and a strong character education component.
Pam Cashwell: Our son came in as a 6th grader and was warmly welcomed by students and staff. The transition was very easy and the small class size, engaging teachers and nurturing environment have been a great fit. 6th graders can play sports! Huge bonus.
Linda Carrigan: St. Timothy's has been a wonderful school for our 3 daughters. My oldest is in High School now and was very prepared academically. She also uses life skills that she learned while at St. Timothy's such as; organizing her binder and presenting in front of her classes. My middle daughter is or was more on the shy, quiet side until she started at St. Timothy's during her second grade year. She tells me now that she is the first one to raise her hand to present a project. Presentation skills are taught early on, so by the time the kids reach middle school, they are comfortable with public speaking. St. Timothy's has given her that confidence. She has blossomed during her 6 years at this school! In addition to the strong academics at St. Timothy's, I love that the school teaches life skills, believes in community service projects in all grades and that the teachers truly care about our children.
Kari McMichael: Great academic environment and lovely campus!
Soraya Caro: Great School with exceptional teachers, and a beautiful environment.
Webster West: We really like it.
G. Fan: We love St. Timothy's! I have a 2nd grader there. He's been there since Kindergarten. He has some learning difficulties which required therapy; and I homeschooled him for half of kindergarten. For social skill purposes and because he wanted so much to be with other kids in school, we enrolled him in STS. It's been the most wonderful thing for him. He still tells me he wants to go to school on Saturdays and Sundays. The teachers are so good with him. They are easily accessible via e-mail or just popping my head in the door when I'm on campus. The class sizes are perfect (for us...never been greater than 16 kids) and the teachers love teaching and are so kind. Classes are so organized! STS uses thematic teaching...so if they are studying sea creatures....everything (art, social studies, science, writing, reading, etc.) is associated with that. The children enjoy learning how everything is tied together. In kindergarten, my son started in pre-K reading and after 2 weeks of assessing him, they decided he should move up to the advanced reading group. There was no need for paper work or meetings, the teachers just spoke to each other and the transition happened the following week. The environment is so family-oriented and the kids are so sweet! There are teachers just for art, PE, science, and music....and they are phenomenal! The lab experiments are so creative and educational. PE is designed with the growth development of the child in mind. Art is amazing! You just have to visit and see for yourself. The personal attention is really a strength of this program if your child is in need of this.
A. Tucker: We have been a part of the St. Timothy’s School community since 2006. Currently, we have 3 kids attending the school in grades Pre-K, 4th and 7th. Our experience with the school has been exceptional. The teachers have consistently fostered a love of learning in our children. The teachers are enthusiastic about both the material they teach as well as each individual child. All 3 of our children enjoy going to school each day. Each year, the school has ensured that our children have the foundations necessary to excel in the next academic year. The lower school teachers did an excellent job of preparing our daughter for middle school and we have no doubt that she will be ready for the challenges of high school. We have been impressed with the tiered approach to the development of the middle school children with focus on developing organizational skills, study skills, character traits and social skills.Once you become a part of the community, you begin to understand the importance of the traditions of St. Timothy’s School. The children look forward with anticipation each year to these traditions, including the Fall Festival, the Christmas Pageant, Balloon Day, and the Biggles/Littles program. The traditions play an important role in the overall experience of learning and being a part of the St. Timothy’s community. Most importantly, they help make school fun!Character trait education is an integral part of the curriculum at St. Timothy’s. The emphasis on the character traits, such as honesty, perseverance, kindness, and responsibility ensures that our children are not only learning the tools necessary to be successful in school, but also the tools to be successful in life.Recently, the active parent organization, Friends of St. Timothy’s, has been successful in providing extra funds for special projects at the school such as state-of-the-art teaching technology in every classroom. The enthusiasm and implementation of innovative teaching methods by the administration have made a huge impact and we are excited to see what the future holds for St. Timothy’s School and our children.
Greg R: STS is a great school with a nurturing environment and high expectations on students. I have 2 children there. STS has the expected special classes such as Spanish, PE, Art, and Music in the lower school. The after school program is also exceptional. Tuition is the lowest among the top-tier private schools in Raleigh. STS is PK-8 which keeps the school "young" and avoids the high school that seems to be the focus of the other K-12 private schools. Anyone looking for a private school option in the Raleigh area should visit STS. The place just has the right feel for a school.
Monica Moncrieffe Bennett: We chose St. Timothy's School when we moved to Raleigh from the Northeast two years ago. It has been a wonderful experience for older child, and now our younger child is having a great experience in the Junior Kindergarten program. The academic courses are appropriatley challenging. Moreover, my friends are always amazed when I tell them that the lower school students can participate in band and the science fair. The foreign language component is also great. Both of my children now speak more spanish than their parents. The St. Timothy's School community was very welcoming, and helped to make our family's transition to this area a smooth one.
