Photography is how it started, it has been a beautiful ride mastering this artistry. From Commercial, Headshots and Branding, to Glamour and Boudoir we became the go-to for all photography needs. We have mastered getting people comfortable in front of the lens so we are able to capture their best self. With professional hair and makeup, wardrobe styling, posing guidance, and more we have perfected a step by step process for the perfect photoshoot.
Keeping up with marketing trends in 2015 we began offering professional videography services for our commercial clients and it exploded. While static imagery is still very important we were able to incorporate video into marketing offering a HUGE advantage over other forms of content. Video does not just tell visitors about a company, product, or service – it SHOWS them!
In 2019 Somer expanded Revolution’s commercial offerings pushing the studio into a place that had been calling for quite sometime. Revolution Studios now offers a variety of marketing and branding services and has brought on top collaborators and creators for the ultimate next level service. We are now able to take the photos and video we have created to the next level for our clients in business. It just made sense and the results by keeping it in-house have been profound. Montiq Davis: Be prepared to spend thousands of dollars for subpar services. I expected to spend $500-$1000, but omg! Was I surprised!And the qroupom was actually worthless.My professional makeup artist wasn't professional at all, it was the photographer herself and definitely not a professional MUA. The experience was ok, but not worth the money. The cost of the photo shoot went up an, and up, an up. It was ridiculous.

It was so much fun using all the different sets that she had. She even offered me additional props to help get the look I was going for. jessica hoffman: Do not use groupon if you plan to buy book. I purchased a groupon to use here and learned afterwards I did not need groupon. I went back and forth with Somer and after 4 months, she would only refund what money she was out. I over paid for what I received and did not receive it back. I'm still out about 100 dollars. Pictures were nice but there are a couple that look funny after editing.

Somer put my husband (a surgeon) and his associate at ease and made them feel comfortable and confident. The photos are amazing. Their personalities really come through in the photos.Somer was fun, funny and so professional. She was right on time with everything she needed. The photos were shared with us less than 24 hours after the shoot and there were many, many images to choose from. The whole team at revolution studios has been great. We really will never use another photographer for our professional or personal needs.

J M: Ashley took a $160 deposit from us to take our family photos and never showed up to the location we were supposed to meet at. I should of known something was fishy because she was very evasive when we were trying to schedule the shoot. She changed the time twice and was very hard to get a hold of. I kept texting her the day of with no response.We have 4 children and waited over 2 hours for her at the park she instructed us to meet her at. Later after we left she sent me a text stating she was in a car accident and at the hospital. I told her I was very sorry but we could not reschedule and would need a refund. Never heard from her again! Mind you, she was posting to her personal Facebook account so I knew she was alive and well. Thankfully, she had used an associate's account to collect our deposit. I tracked him down and he was able to refund our money and was very apologetic. Obviously, this girl has issues! I'm sure she is a talented photographer but a train wreck of a person.
Mary Bain: I know Ashley personally which is why I chose her. BIG MISTAKE! What I took for eccentric is really flakiness, unprofessional work ethic, and just plain bad business. The contract stated she would deliver all of the EDITED High resolution photos within 90 days of the wedding event. When I messaged her a month and a half after the wedding to see if she had any proofs to look at I got no response. When I messaged her two months after, she stated she had one week of work left on them. When I messaged her in December (our wedding was in September) on the due date, I got no response. When I messaged her a week later I got lame excuses. When I messaged her again before Christmas, again, all I received were excuses. When I messaged her again in January she promised she would have them to me before she went to bed that night. Still no pictures. She finally provided some of them a few days later. When I questioned her about the reception photos and the sparkler exit, still no response. It was only when I advised her for the second time I was going to sue her for the money I paid, my attorney's fees, the pictures and compensation for the accommodations I provided for her and her "assistant" that she FINALLY uploaded all of the remaining photos which again, have not been edited at all. I would not recommend Ashley McCray Photography to anyone! Not only did she breach our contract but ultimately she tried to put the blame on me by saying I was impatient. Word to the wise, find someone else for your big day, She will disappoint I promise! Oh and by the way back when she was getting good reviews it was all because of her partner at the time. They no longer work together and you can tell in the quality of her work. TERRIBLE! Also, the review from Susan Auger is her Mother!!!
Hailie Huffman: I booked a 2 hour engagement session with Ashley. We had to reschedule the first meet up due to the weather. On the second attempt, we managed to get an hour and had to reschedule the remaining hour for a later date due to the weather. My fiancé and I showed up at the agreed spot and she was a no show. I got an email a day later stating that she had some personal matters to attend to. I did not get a call nor an email prior to her cancelling. I am extremely disappointed at her business and communication skills. I have sent multiple emails since then and have yet to hear back. At this point, I just want my photos i paid for and won't be giving her any further business. Good luck trying to contact her!
Kelsey Hargrove: I told Ashley that I had been disappointed with pictures of my husband and I in our past. She exceeded my expectations with her work. Happy is an understatement! They are gorgeous and I am glad that I chose her to be our photographer!
Michelle Smith: Very unprofessional. We scheduled a family session a month in advance and submitted a deposit. The morning of our session I received a text that she was ill and wanted to reschedule (frustrated but understood). We rescheduled for the following weekend via text. The day of our appt I called and sent texts to confirm time/location per our previous texts. I never received a response but since I had confirmation in writing from the previous weekend we got the family ready and drove to our designated spot. Ashley was a no-show and did not respond to any texts or calls to cell phone until 30 minutes after our scheduled appt. By that time we had given up and she said she had us down for a different day (contrary to our previous communications). As a small business owner she needs to be figure out her communication and scheduling. I would not recommend booking her based on her lack of communication and unreliability. After a second failed attempt we are now looking for a new photographer.
Clairette Lopes: Unprofessional - Demanded $160 to reserve a date for a Family Photo. On the day of the Photo (hours before), she cancelled and wanted to reschedule to the next day or two. We were devastated! We have college aged kids and planned for weeks for them not to schedule work on this day for the photo. Needless to say they would be working the next few days and 1 leaving for school right after. You guessed it, she will not refund our deposit, answer emails or texts or phone calls. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Ashley, once she gets your money, good luck! Run Away!!!!!

Morgan Howes: They went above and beyond! My fiancé was in Afghanistan when he contacted Ashley to come to the airport to take pictures of his homecoming and the surprise proposal! I had no idea; they were so sneaky! They got pictures of everything possible and it was awesome to have those memories captured, but what made it even better was that Ashley and Trey were there to do it. Ashley will forever be our “go to” photographer for everything. 3
Sara Healy: I had a lot riding on this photo shoot - it was the first time in probably 10 years that my husband's siblings had all been together at their parents' house for Thanksgiving and to up the ante, there were also three grandkids in the mix. I had to find a winner to photograph 7 adults and three children under five years old from five states away. I'm happy to say that Ashley didn't just meet our hopes and expectations - she blew them out of the water. She's warm, kind, patient, attentive and incredibly talented. She didn't bat an eyelash at working with me from a distance and she was always incredibly prompt at responding to my emails and calls. Her photos are a true testimonial of her passion and this happy customer is a true testimonial of her professionalism. If we travel to North Carolina again for Thanksgiving next year, we might just wait until November to have our annual family photos taken.
Tami Cunningham: From beginning to end, working with Ashley was a fantastic experience. Ashley was incredibly responsive, open to my crazy ideas and even went above and beyond to help my particular vision come true. She scoped out fun places for our shoot, helped map out a plan of when and where we’d take photos and even did her own research on my business and my particular style.When she says she’s a happy, bubbly, creative person – that’s all 100% true. We had a great time during the shoot, despite the heat and humidity and we shared lots of laughs. Ashley also didn’t rush through the process – totally respecting that we were trying to get great shots. She also delivered everything right on time and was open to any adjusting that I needed. What you see on her website is completely indicative of her ability and skill – her work is beautiful and professional. I have already recommended her to two different friends for their wedding and family shots! I will definitely work with Ashley again in the future!
