Bernina World of Sewing: what do users think?
Cindy Meyer: If you're in the market for a Bernina machine, whether it be a sewing computer, embroidery machine or longarm, BERNINA World of Sewing is the place to purchase. The technical support is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The learning and education programs are ,⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the staff are ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, and you will never ever beat the Bernina quality and standard of service because they are (you guessed it) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. You combine the Bernina standards with Bernina World of Sewing customer service and you have a sweet deal that will keep you happily stitching for years to come. If you know me, you know I don't often offer these type of reviews. My experience for the past 20 years has been awesome. I highly recommend the Bernina brand and Bernina World of Sewing as your dealer
Glo: I needed to update this review because I purchased the B740 which is an amazing sewing machine. I love all the fabric and choices they offer. I also love my B700 Embroidery Machine. I have owned many Berninas over 39 years and this was an easy choice for me. Sona, the Owner was wonderful and made sure I was satisfied with my purchase and price. The customer service I received was spot on! I also enjoyed the Owners Classes (2) and learned so much. The gals who work there are very informative and ready to assist with your quilting needs.I found my new Quilting home at BWOS and look forward to taking classes and joining Bernina Club. Come on down Quilters for a fun place to buy fabric, patterns, notions and so much more.Happy Quilting!
Vera m: Very helpful. Looking forward to classes there.
Aleta A. Krauss: They had a wide variety of fabrics, patterns, and tools. The staff were very friendly and informative!!! Highly recommend!!!
Maureen Phillips: I recently bought a longarm from the Bernina store in Raleigh and the whole experience was wonderful!  Sona and Michael are so friendly and made the installation process seamless :)  They expertly assembled and calibrated the machine.  Afterwards, Michael thoroughly trained me on how to operate it and was very patient with my questions.  I appreciated all his advice and enjoyed that Michael and Sona were so excited for me.  They truly made a happy purchase even happier!
dmaslett: Beautiful shop with fantastic and helpful staff.
Cathy Norris: Very nice selection of fabrics and patterns
Julendia Gaillard: I love the store, fabric selection, staff and classes they provide. I really love the warm and inviting atmosphere. The fabric and notions selection are top notch.
Caral Lock: Great store and friendly staff
Jennifer Saliba Bishop: I recently visited the Raleigh store to take a look at some of the Bernina machines in person before purchasing. My husband and two little boys were also with me and the first thing that Nancy did was welcome my boys and offer them each a toy pullback car (for them to keep) that kept them entertained the whole time we were in the store. She spent a lot of time going over the Bernina 550 with me showing me all of the features of the machine. She was so thorough, professional, and extremely helpful. She encouraged me to take some time to decide which machine to purchase and did not pressure me to buy one right there on the spot. I actually ended up purchasing a used 770QE online (the Tula Pink edition and my dream machine) but I so appreciated the customer support and the welcoming atmosphere of this store. I plan to come back soon to purchase fabric (they have BEAUTIFUL selections) and want to look into taking some sewing mastery classes with them. Do not be afraid to stop in this store! The staff is so very kind and helpful! Thank you guys for turning me into a Bernina girl!
Eileen Dudley: This is a great store for people who love to sew! Great selection of fabrics and lots of other goodies. And of course the wonderful Bernina machines! The staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
Amy Purvis: Five stars is not enough. I drive all the way from Fuquay to come here. I have been greeted warmly from my first visit, asked about current projects, helped and educated on products, and allowed to browse as long as I want. Selection is huge - especially Tula Pink! They really go the extra mile here and I make a point to shop here first. You can get fabric anywhere, but you cannot replicate the quilt shop experience.
John Levi: Came in to buy a sewing machine for my friend's daughter and Stephanie was so helpful with getting me set up with a great entry level machine for garment altering. Thanks for your help!
Kristi Servies: Great job servicing my machine.
Cindy Puetzer: It is a wonderful store of beautiful fabric and a very knowledgable staff! My go to place for quilting! And Bernina sewing machines are the best!!!
DaLung: Beautiful quilt shop
Eleise Jacobs: The store looked nice and pleasant, but when I went in to purchase a sewing machine I was completely ignored. I wasn't even acknowledged when I walked in. I sat for 15 minutes *by the machines* and said hello to the the salesperson, but still nothing. It doesn't matter how nice your shop looks if people can't buy anything.
Christine the Quilt Dasher: Love this shop! They have a great selection of fabrics. I'm always impressed by the amount of notions they carry. If it exists, they carry it! I had my Bernina Artista 640 serviced there and they made an error with it, but corrected it right away. (A part was loose in the bobbin area.) They try hard to keep customers happy. They are an active shop, with classes every month for a variety of skills. You will be very happy with this shop!
Charles Nye: I made my first stop into this delightful shop today. I am a quilter and I thought this location had everything a quilter could need - machines, a decent collection of fabrics, notions galore, and a very helpful staff. Everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable and friendly. There were some value fabrics, a couple of sales, and I believe they do quilt-a-longs for those wishing to be more involved. They do have a complimentary rewards program which is always a plus. I will definitely be back!
Jenn M: They are always wonderful. Each time we come my 4 yr old gets to pick out a rubber duckie which makes her day. The fabric selection is wonderful and your creative juices come out as soon as you step foot in the store.
Kayde Puckett: I have been a customer for two years now, but I have to say that these ladies CAME THROUGH for me last week! I ordered a sit down longarm machine from them which was delivered last Thursday. That evening when I went to use it, the machine was making a funny noise. Friday morning I sent an email to the owner and sales associate who had ordered it for me, thinking that it would be days if not weeks before getting things straightened out. The owner emailed me back within minutes to let me know that they would have a service tech out THAT VERY AFTERNOON (I live 45 minutes from the shop, BTW). Sylvia came out, heard the noise, called the shop and arranged for a replacement machine which had come in at the same time to be driven out by one of the other associates on her way home. Sylvia waited patiently, set up the replacement machine, tested it to be sure all was perfect, and drove off with the other machine at 6:15pm. On her Friday evening. Never once did she seem like she wanted to be doing anything else, she was so happy to help. I feel this was such exceptional service by the whole Bernina WOS team and I am absolutely THRILLED to have ordered my machine from them. Customer for life!

JOANN Fabric and Crafts: what do users think?
Toni Kelley: The sales associates are always helpful. Great inventory.
Cydney Hatton: Went in to pick up a online order today around 1115/1130 AM. Went in store to look around for fabric and did not see anything. Got in line to check out to buy a drink...I completely forgot about notifying the store through the app for pickup. While in line I set it up for instore pick up. I noticed/overheard the women working at the register talking to another customer making a fuss about the notification coming through for a pickup saying that she couldn't take the order outside without the make and model of the car while my order is in her hand. Then she continued to make unnecessary comments to the customer about my order. I remember hitting instore pick up fo r my order so I didn't understand why it came up as curbside. I did not really appreciate the comments being made from the cashier. I wanted to speak up but I appreciate sherry checking me out and being friendly compared to the other cashier
Lexi Ray: Extremely unprofessional company, managers, and certain staff. Seem to not care about employees. Will never recommend or shop again. Do not waste your time with these people/company.
Jacqueline Deas-Brown: I had an awful experience there. I needed to finish a throw for my mother-in-law who is sick and the color yarn I had bought from them was not in the bin. The person working there said she would need the store manager, Sherry to help me. She was not helpful at all. I had the brand & color and Sherry told me I would have to look it up myself instead of having someone get the step ladder and check the boxes above. I googled it and got the item # from the Joann website which she could have done. She the looked to see if they had it in stock. I have never had such poor service. It was as if I were asking for the moon.
Sixx Lisman: Very rude employees.
Rick Rhoads: Normally has what we need. Good prices.
Lisa Russell: Great store. Please build one in Whspering Pines/Pinehurst/Southern Pines area.
Patrick Lynch: Great selection of craft items. I was there woth my daughter to purchase fabric and a pattern to make a costume for her upcoming musical. The fabric selection was plentiful and well organized. Just bring the fabric to the cutting counter and tell them how much you want. Very friendly staff too.
Carmella Walker: I hate this store! Customer service is horrible. Prices are way too high and you can never get everything you're looking for. It is rare you get the pattern you're looking for. They need competition!
Ana Coria: Always have a good experience at this Joann store. Everyone is very nice 🙂
Roberta Mrozek: Good price on yarn and discount coupons for return visit.
Jessica Mauerhan: Where's all the stock? Everything I looked at was missing half the items on the peg boards.I saw one employee working in the entire store (suggests to me they aren't paying enough to keep staff, or they're purposefully running the store at barebones staff levels), and she was a bit rude, suggested it was my responsibility to put all of my products with the barcode up when coming to the register. At least it's better than Hobby Lobby because they actually use a computer so you can get out a lot faster.I'll stick to ordering craft supplies online tbh.
Peggie Fields: Does not have a lot of merchandise like they use too. Check out getting fabric cut and paying extremely slow.
Jessica Phillips: Everyone here is always so friendly and knowledgeable!
Joel: Not awesome. I don't like the quality of the faux fur with the price of it. Very thin and poor quality for a high price. Don't recommend
Karyl-Lynn Desrosiers: This store has THE NICEST SALES LADY! With the best coupon secrets! Highly recommend this clean and well stocked store.
Home iPad 1: love the variety
HHilda Harris: I love shopping at Joann all the time
Sandra: Good selection of yarn for crochet projects. Made a comfortable blanket 😌
Tanya Palmer: I always find what I need. I don't want them to close!
Susan Reo: Love this store! Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Store is well -stocked and clean.

Sewing Machine Guy of NC: what do users think?
Karen Knaebel: We live in VT and when we were planning a trip to NC I was looking to see if there was anyone there that might have aome insight on how to fix a Singer 111 comercial machine. Two places here tried to fix and/or time it with the last one telling me it wasn't worth fixing. I found the Sewing Machine Hero on line and when I texted him and he found out where I lived he still tried to help me with suggestions. He told me my mothers old machine was a good machine and he thought I should still keep looking to get it fixes. So I brought it to NC and I was blown away watching him work on it. He REALLY knows all the inner workings of these machines! This was not simply a timing issue...this machine had multiple major issues. It hasnt neen used in years and he gave me tips on how to maintain it and links to parts on Amazon. His price was reasonable and when he finished it was all I could to do to keep from crying. No one else wanted to even help me restore my mom's machine. If you live in NC you will not go wrong with this guy. He knows what he is doing!
Dante Kim: Nash is amazing guy! He’s so kind and nice, easy to communicate with him. When you have issues with your sewing machine he’s the guy will figure out that problem. Highly recommend
Sharese Williams: Nash gives great customer service. If the issue is quick to resolve, he may welcome you to stay and answer questions about sewing machines/internal functions. He is very communicative and provides fair rates. His timeliness is excellent especially when a seamstress is down a sewing machine. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a reliable repairman.
Regina Brown: Just Awesome
CJB 2020: I cannot say enough about how wonderful Nash has been through the ordeal of getting my machine fixed. I tried two places in Greenville which were horrendous. Each telling me to throw my Singer 4432 away since it's "not serviceable." One of those service people didn't even examine the machine, simply telling me he "can't fix it" before knowing what the problem even was. The second tried to sell me a new $700 machine instead. Finally found Nash and we communicated and - respecting social distancing requirements - worked through the problem (relatively simple) on a quick timeline and at a very fair and reasonable rate. If you're anywhere close to Raleigh, call Nash first. It's worth the drive. I appreciated the service and the professionalism as well as the can-do attitude that now has my machine running like new. Thanks!!!!
Lori Richards: This shop has amazing customer service. You won't find friendlier people anywhere. Excellent service and they are sensitive to your time and needs. Plus there is the cutest shop dog..he is a gentle giant named Andre. Thank you Nash and Dara.

marva price: I had been told by another sewing machine repair business that my machine could not be fixed, and I needed to spend several hundreds for a new machine. I heard about Archie Johnson and Sons, called them, they examined my machine the same day, diagnosed the problem as thread dust and need for lubrication. My machine was ready in 24 hours for less than I had paid the other company to merely tell me my machine could not be repaired. Mr, Johnson, age 93, knows a lot about sewing machines. He and his daughter do a fine honest job.
BH Powell: Repair/tune up of sewing machines. Very reasonable prices.

Carolina Sew-N-Vac: what do users think?
Debbie Simmonds: Earl helped me with my machine and was so kind in answering all my questions. I highly recommend this store and commend them on their excellent customer service!
Justin Thompson: Great Store and Service. Great Vacuum Repair at a reasonable price. You can ignore any review older than about 6 years because they've been under new management for a while and the kind welcoming good old fashioned service that harkens back to a different era shines when you walk into this store. You don't get the big boisterous and borderline ridiculous "Welcome to Moe's" brand of customer service you get at a place like Moe's Burritos. Instead, you get actual customer service from owners that actually care for the people coming into their store. They are willing to listen to the issue you have with your vacuum/sewing machine and look for solutions. That is the kind of personal, genuine customer service I received from Earl every time I came in.I own a fairly pricey vacuum because I like to buy "Made in USA" and bought my vacuum expecting it to last 12-15 years, so I paid 3x more than a typical vacuum. It's been 8 years and I just started having my first problem with the vacuum. I brought it into Earl, and while it took a little bit of digging (he had to go all the way into the motor and replace the fan!), he was able to restore my vacuum back to "like new" condition for less than a quarter the cost of a new machine. Next time I go to purchase an somewhat overpriced American-made vacuum, (and I will be doing that because it is by far the best vacuum I've ever owned), I will be buying it from Carolina Sew-N-Vac.(Side Story, I rented a house for a year and the people I rented from thought that we had shampooed the carpets!!! They couldn't believe how clean the carpets looked and how much "fluffiness" was restored just from vacuuming with a quality vacuum for a year. In fact, the wife of the landowner said she wanted a vacuum like ours and we gave them the information.) (If you are interested, I own the Riccar Tandem Air Base Model, it is expensive, but it is very high quality and does not lose suction over time like most vacuums that are not as well designed. I've bought the Consumer Reports Vacuums best buys in the past, but don't, CR only tests them new. After about a year, you will not get the same suction in most models.)Again, I can't recommend Earl and Carolina Sew-N-Vac enough. My vacuum is like brand new, and to be honest, I just enjoyed having conversations with Earl as he tolerated my weird obsession with a common household appliance (haha). It was fun to come into this store and not only deal with good customer service on a business end, I truly enjoyed just getting to know Earl as he helped fix our vacuum issue. Also, I've attached a picture of the vacuum fan that he pulled out of the vacuum. Thanks Earl for finding the issue and fixing it!
Haley Peckham: I walked in last Saturday after finding the store on google. I needed some help finding new feet for my (20+ year old) machine. The staff was very knowledgeable, helped me quickly and gave me so much information! I haven't sewn is decades, so I will definitely be joining the Friday sit-and-sew classes and coming back. SO GLAD I found this place.
Mary Mabe: Every time I have called their shop they alway are more than happy to help!! I live more than 2 hours away and they are the only people I let service my machines! He worked on my Crown Jewel quilt machine and it’s runs like a new one!!
Jessica Hoover: I came in because I needed someone to show me how to pull the bobbin thread through on my new sewing machine, and Earl was so kind and gracious and was able to show me what to do. He made sure that my machine was in working order too before I left. I would highly recommend this store to everyone, and I will definitely be going back if I need any repairs in the future!
Ashleigh H: Editing to add to my first review:After the first month of owning my very first Babylock I fell in love with both the quality of the machines and the owners of this store. I actually drive out of my way from another dealer to come to this location because the owners, especially Mr.Earl are a GEM! i have since purchased 3 other machines. I have been lucky enough to have Earl teach me the machines in store so that when I get home I feel confident enough to use them myself. Attached is a picture of my very first embroidery I did on my new machine. Any imperfections you may see are definitely user error as it was my first time. This store is so thorough with the entire process of buying a machine and having been to (literally) every other Babylock dealer within an hour drive of this store, I will always continue to come back to this one. The employees make you feel so comfortable and are so welcoming and kind. And are not judgmental of new sewers like I felt at the other locations (not affiliated with this store). I would have not purchased more if it weren’t for Earl and him introducing me to the most amazing machines and inspiring me to pursue my love of sewing. Even at a beginner level. Highly highly recommend this store for all your sewing machine needs! The wonderful owners of this store went out of their way for me this weekend to help me get the serger of my dreams! I had a horrible cheap brother serger that was making me so frustrated that I didn’t want to sew anymore. After some research I decided on the babylock celebrate to see if having an easier machine would help make my hobby less frustrating for me. WOW! I drove an hour to come this shop despite having another sewing machine store near me and it was worth it! I will always be a repeat customer here for every machine moving forward! The customer service was beyond amazing. Their website has a phone number you are able to text for customer service and that is just the most amazing thing these days! The owners helped me find the machine that was best fit for me, drove from out of town to open the store so I could enjoy it this weekend. From payment to checkout, they were both absolutely delightful! The store is clean, organized and welcoming. I will be recommending this shop to everyone I know who is looking to buy or upgrade their machines! What a gem this store is! And I truly could not have dreamt up better, honest, kind and compassionate owners. Thank you a million times for my babylock!
Carol Ann McVay Orchard: Great sewing place and very friendly and helpful! Ruth and Earl are the best!
Lynn Lye: The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Service before and after the sale are wonderful!
J Goodson-Smith: I just stopped in to Carolina Sew and Vac when I noticed the store while taking care of other business. Ruth was extremely helpful and went that “extra mile” to put my mind at ease regarding a serger that I’d received as a gift. I will definitely go back again and would refer anyone looking for machines, especially Baby Lock. Thanks Ruth!
Andrea Romiti: They were able to fix an issue I was having with a part to my sewing machine right there on the spot! They were so personable and I never felt rushed! The store is so cute with beautiful machines and fabric. I look forward to shopping there again.
James Sexton: Stopped in today with my Dyson vacuum that had a broken part. And, unfortunately, my model has been discontinued. Amazingly, they had a replacement part. Super helpful and pleasant people. Thank you!
Andrea Johnston: Really amazing customer service experience here this weekend. I needed a few more things to get a sewing project finished. I couldn’t easily go in so they brought threads out and needles to help me match to fabric. They went above and beyond! (And had exactly what I needed to get my project done!) Thank you!
Melissa Moran: Is it possible to give a store 11 stars? After a clumsy moment, my sewing machine had a minor issue that needed to be addressed and Carolina Sew-N-Vac came to my rescue! Having heard wonderful things about the store from a number of sources (some of whom live several hours away), I am so grateful for the referral - and all of the help!
Danner Gouge: For those looking for a short review:If you are looking for a place to shop for sewing materials and equipment, come here. Period. If you want a place with great phone service to ask questions and get fast and correct answers, you would be hard-pressed to find better. If you want personalized experiences with a family-owned and operated company, this is your place. If you want to find a sewing store that you can go back to time and time again with service and consideration for the customer, please… just come to this shop. For those looking for a full review:I live outside the Cary area, and have been looking for parts to repair my older Singer sewing machine. I called Carolina Sew-n-Vac looking for a part that I have not been able to find ANYWHERE. The gentleman I spoke to was well-informed and professional, while also talking to me like my time was important to him. He told me that he did have the part, and that I could come pick it up.When I arrived, I mentioned that I had called about the specific part, and they knew exactly who I was and what I was looking for. The gentleman and lady brought out a machine identical to mine and retrieved the part I was looking for. During this, I mentioned to my husband that they had a whole machine like mine, and the man I had spoken to on the phone looked up and said I could have it if I wanted it. He gave me the whole machine, no questions asked, and wished me well in my repair process.Unbeknownst to him, I am repairing my Nana’s old Singer sewing machine. She has passed away since giving it to me, and it was in desperate need of parts to continue working. I learned to sew on this machine, I’ve used this machine during many important parts of my life, and it holds as many memories as it has made clothes and sewing projects. Using this machine makes me feel closer to her, and replacing it simply wasn’t an option. Now, I have her machine in beautiful working condition, and spare parts in case anything was to break/wear-out in the future. The employees at Carolina Sew-n-Vac did more than give me an amazing customer experience, but they went further and made it a genuinely amazing human interaction. I cannot express how much I recommend shopping/calling/considering this company for all of your sewing needs.I drove from outside the local area to visit this store, and I will be doing so again when I need something else. If you need fabric, a new sewing machine, sewing essentials, quilting supplies, or want to trade in your machine for a new one do yourself a favor and make the trip to Carolina Sew-n-Vac off of Buck Jones Rd or the location on Capital Blvd. I cannot express my gratitude enough to these people for making it possible to ensure the longevity of the sewing machine that means so much to me. Thank you!
Sabrina Cali: I have an original Singer Touch and Sew. This heavy piece has been through 2 generations now of seamstresses. The folk at Carolina Sew N Vac have taken great care of it . And when it was beyond repair, they didn't charge me to take a look. You do have to keep checking in, as they only call you when they've finished the job, and don't give too much notice if things are being delayed.
Andrea Caruolo: Great service
Matthew Taggart: Spoke with Earl today. Extremely helpful and knowledgable. Highly recommend.
Lester Tatman II: Went in to find a sewing machine to make masks since I did not want to do it by hand. They patiently gave me a reminder lesson on how to use one and did not let up until I was comfortable with using it. Even coming back into the shop, they remembered me, welcoming me with a smile. They have a great personality and customer service.
Sabrina Thompson: Love this place! Kim and Earl are the best!
Vivie Aravidis: I went over to Carolina Sew-N-Vac today to get some needles for a vintage serger I've been tinkering with. I talked with Earl on the phone before heading over to see if they had the needles I needed. I went there, brought my serger, and the whole staff worked with me to figure out what needles I needed. The customer service was some of the best I've ever gotten, he worked with me to make sure the needles were correct and that my tension was right. He even figured out that one of my knobs was missing a spring. Together we brought the machine back to life! I will absolutely be going back for all my sewing needs.
Jason Graton: Took our machine to another shop for repairs twice. Timing was off after both visits. Carolina Sew-N-Vac was able to fix it and it's purring through layers of fabric again.
