I was advised that there is a policy I looked online- no time policy, looked into my email- no time policy. The front desk lady even stated that she couldn’t find the policy online but they had a paper copy. If it’s a policy, it should be noted on the website and on my confirmation email. Before arriving I even called to ask if I could come in earlier and the front desk advised me I could so I made my way for nothing. Waste of my time and lack of communication. However, the people running this place are NOT amazing. I've had to deal with so many billing issues and outright unprofessionalism it is INSANE.They were double billing me for MONTHS on two separate cards, and when I asked for a refund of the erroneous charges and was told I could use the credits toward buying their products, or book multiple services at once to use them up. That did not make me happy but I said okay. I moved 30 miles away and they're no longer convenient but I figured I'd eventually manage to use them up and would not have to pay for waxes for awhile.I have the voicemail from with your staff acknowledging that not only did I cancel, but they were double charging me the entire time by their mistake.A few months after canceling I was finally going to be in the area and I attempted to schedule and use one of those stockpiled credits. On my way there I was caught behind a car accident, which would make me approximately 5-10 minutes late. I called immediately to let them know and they told me I'd have to reschedule because more than 7 minutes late was unacceptable. I checked their online schedule and they had the entire remaining day open; there was no reason to tell me I couldn't be a few minutes late. She claimed they were so busy they could not accommodate me. How? They don't accept walk-ins. I was staring at the schedule and it was wide open. When I asked her about it she said I was wrong. LOL. Okay.This was the final straw for me and I told her that's fine; cancel it, remove me and all of my info from their system and make sure they don't ever charge me anything again. I decided the unused credits were a wash and not worth fighting for, and certainly not worth using.I reiterated this before I ended the call because they told me they had to "reactivate" my account for the appointment in order it use my existing credits. Does that sound as scammy and fake to you as it did to me? Reactivation sounds like code for "gonna start charging you again" and SPOILER ALERT. They started freaking charging me AGAIN.Clearly they can't be counted on to do the right or honest thing, so I contacted my bank and filed a chargeback, and now I'm headed to the BBB to file a complaint.TL;DR go literally anywhere but here. I hate to say this, especially because Laura is the best waxer ever and this isn't her fault. Ava Majewski: I went to Waxing The City on June 25th as a first-time customer. I booked the appointment online so I could receive the 20% discount. The appointment was for an eyebrow wax and eyebrow tint at 3:30pm. I arrived at 3:27pm, but had to wait until 3:45pm to get my services done because the brow tech was late, despite an empty salon. Laura, the brow tech, did an excellent job on the eyebrow wax. We discussed doing the eyebrow tint but she told me she did not recommend it for my shade of eyebrows, which I appreciated. After the appointment she followed me to the receptionist to inform her that we skipped the eyebrow tint. However, when I went to pay the receptionist told me my total was $42.80 (without tip), when an eyebrow wax was only $22. After back and forth conversation, she informed me that the salons "policy" was that a customer must pay for all the service slots booked online EVEN IF THE SERVICE WAS NOT PERFORMED because "I took the slot from another customer." So as a first-time customer, in an empty salon, I had to pay for an eyebrow tint that wasn't done and the brow tech recommended I not do.On top of that experience, I only received the 20% discount on the Brow Tint, not the Brow Wax. My ending total was $52.40. The establishment essentially stole money from me by making me pay for a service that wasn't performed. I tried to contact corporate, but didn't receive a response. I've never dealt with a company so unprofessional, with unsound policies, and rude customer-service representatives.
