Nuestro guía turístico sintió que era necesario burlarse del camino y cito las palabras mal pronunciadas del sureño. Disfrutamos viendo la casa y los jardines, pero no el guía turístico.

william bruce: Pullen Park has always been a beautiful place to spend some time. The staff are nice and willing to help. With the amount of people and kids, this place is always surprisingly clean. Great place to take your family or just go for a peaceful day to yourself.
Chanchal: A fun park for all ages. Rode the train which runs along the park boundary, it was a short lovely ride. This beautiful park has a lake with fountain and boat riding activity, walking paths, bridges, playing areas, kids activities, carousel, shelters, benches, kiddies boat ride etc. Well maintained restrooms. Rob Mattson: I came to Raleigh from Oklahoma for a conference and inadvertently left my dress shoes at home, making boots my only option to wear with a suit. “Rough-looking” is a massive understatement for the condition of my boots, so I went to Ealdwine for some shoe polish, and saw that the product had changed quite a bit over the past few years. I had a few questions about leather conditioner, how much polish to use, etc. (stuff like that), and Mr. Gray took the time to show me everything, on my boots at that. The difference is tremendous, and I’m not JUST talking about how my boots look now. For a business owner to take time out of his day, literally get his hands dirty, and go to such lengths for a customer who might come to Raleigh every five years or so… It speaks volumes about Mr. Gray as a person and business owner. I’m now more informed, equipped with some really good polish, and won’t feel so embarrassed about wearing beat-up boots with a suit.Another cool thing, assuming most will be looking/shopping for more than shoe polish, the store’s beautifully designed, and chockablock with some of the finest in men’s clothing and beautiful footwear. Mr. Gray personally helped with the design in many of the latter (Alden’s handmade in Massachusetts), so I definitely feel like I was in good hands, and had definitely come to the right place.Great owner. Top notch products. Perfect service. Great experience.
Jason: Let me start with I had to order from the store. Matt knows his stuff but, he knows Alden’s like the back of his hand. I was a bit skeptical on sizing as we all are but, Matt reassured me if I wear a 11 in (x) brand an 11 in Alden would be spot on. They arrived very quickly to my home with excellent communication from start to finish! I am a proud owner of Alden 405s and could not be happier, thank you Matt!

Paul McGrew: I decided to invest in Alden shoes. Initially, I reached out to a very well known online Alden retailer. My first question was answered with what seemed like a modicum of effort. My follow up questions were never answered. Then, I reached out to Jim at Ealdwine. He answered ALL of my questions, even though I know he has probably answered the same ones 3 million times. My first pair of boots didn't fit. A new pair was sent over ASAP. They even helped me when I screwed up the shipping address for my shoes. If you are going to make an investment in a pair of shoes you hope will last two decades or more, Ealdwine provides the service commensurate with that kind of purchase.

Hope ashworth: Enjoyed walking around the grounds. Just wished there had been some kind of signs posted telling the history of the house and the small buildings on the grounds around it. Tried to find the visitor center hoping to pick up maybe a map of the grounds or information on cost of the guided tour but was not able to find it. The signs directing you to the visitor center just brought us back to a main road in Raleigh. No sign identifying a building as the "Visitor Center".

C S: Tour was nice. Pretty neat seeing all of the history in one place. Knowing the history of the enslaved at this home was disappointing to hear the lack of context that was shared about them. There are relatives of the enslaved who have the stories and can be found and they weren’t really discussed. The stories about the family were very “safe”. It’s 2022, we need to be honest.
