I am the second owner of the windows, and rightfully due warranty coverage. Sadly the company decided unvetted information is valid enough to not uphold the warranty for the claim I filed.10/10 Would not recommend.

Linda Luciano: Terrible windows, buyer beware!! Our builder used Simonton windows and every single window had to eventually be replaced over the years. They get a film on the inside of the glass that eventually makes it hard to see out the window and looks awful. It's now been 16 years and finally the patio doors have started having the same problem the others did and and they say the warranty is up. We we told we had lifetime warranties and now they won't honor it. Response time is also horrible. Took months to get a response about the warranty.

Andrew Boli: Extremely challenging warranty claim process. Their response times - especially for the West Coast - are abysmal. As a customer you only ever can call into a call center, where they are polite but impotent. Seems like they just want to run out the clock on their warranties, or else they truly do not offer the support that their salespeople indicate. Not a good experience.

wali omarkheil: BEWARE!!!!!I bought a patio garner door 6500 like a year ago on home depo gift card and can’t locate that receipt and I have issues with the hardware I have been given the run around for 3 weeks. Home Depo can’t help because they claim to not have the link to order hardware, Simonton provides no help they give you near Pro dealer, and the pro dealer sends you back to Simonton. No other locks fit, so my house is open. Frustration beyond imaginable. Next time I am looking for doors or windows it would be difficult to choose this company.

Marian H: I had replacement windows installed several years ago. One developed a stress crack. The installer and the wholesaler both told me they were out of warranty. I finally got a phone number for Simonton. They had my order number (still under warranty), shipped me a replacement sash at no charge. It took me 5 min to replace. The employee on the phone was extremely nice and helpful.

Business Writers: Have to be the worst window company in the USA. Their windows are horrible and their warranty dept is a sham. If you ever have an issue, good luck you'll be told you need to fix it yourself. So much for standing behind your product.

Now, to make the problem even worse, when it rains I have water inside of my house not only from my kitchen door but from some windows as well. Everything is new and this poor quality on this very expensive products are ruining our house. Also, they treat us like garbage. The gentleman who called us back after my emails was yelling at us, being sarcastic and very disrespectful and the lady (claim manager) doesn’t care.I spoke with a technician from Oklahoma over the phone and he was really rude and hung up on my husband’s face. He is not a good salesman and he was really rude since his first word. We spent more than 20k with your company and we deserve to be treated respectfully. This is not right! Also after my complain they said that they would mail the damage parts (a couple ones), but he never did.

Jim Halford: I moved into a home with Simonton Windows already installed. One of the windows is broken, not the glass, the inside works that hold the window up and allow it to be tilted out safely. I was able to track down the contractor who installed it, Big Red Seamless Siding in Nebraska. The owner was not helpful at all. It took forever for him to return my initial calls and now he won't return them at all. I called Simonton who sent me two bags full of parts that I have absolutely no idea how to install. When I asked about that, the said, well you'll have to find someone. Every window company I have called wants to install their own window rather than repair mine.

Kelly Foret: I am incredibly disappointed with the quality and in the appearance of the windows. I would not recommend purchasing these windows to install on a dog house. All 11 of my very expensive, custom built windows have developed mold and mildew on the exterior and in the interior “between of the window panes” in less than one year of installation. The windows are “not” in constant shade nor are they obscured by vegetation. According to the manufacture these are a few reasons for the mold and mildew. The manufacture refuses to do anything to rectify the situation. Their only action has been to send cleaning instructions. I find their cleaning instructions to be absolutely ridiculous. For there is no way to get “in-between” the double paned windows to clean them. And cleaning the exteriors do no good. The mold and mildew have already stained the white seals and will not come clean. A professional cleaning company says there is nothing more that they can do. The windows or just stained. I am very concerned that the condition of the windows will bring down my property value. I wish that there was a rating scale from 0 to 10. Zero being the lowest, 10 the highest. I would have chosen zero over one. If you know of a class action suit against this window company please let me know. I want to sign up.

Don Johns Music: Very disappointed with the 3 Patio Doors I purchased from Simonton. I was told that Simonton was better quality than Anderson, but it is not. The first thing I noticed was the cheap quality of the hardware and especially the finish. With Anderson there was no additional charge, with Simonton there was and they look like a 7 year old sprayed flat silver paint on them. The finish is rough to touch, not smooth and no shine to it. My installer has had to redrill all the holes for the hardware because they were either put upside down or the holes were just completely off, which is costing me more in the install. We also upgraded the glass thinking it would be better, but the glass seems thinner than the Anderson we purchased for an interior door.Over all I'm very disappointed. Instead of being excited about finally getting rid of the old doors, I have some new ones, but wish I had bought Anderson. So for those of you out there looking to replace your doors or windows, spend a little more and get Anderson. No song for you, if I did sing, it would be a very sad song.

I landed on the Andersen 400 Woodwright (wood painted interior and composite exterior). I was on deployment and my wife used FaceTime so we could talk to Jeff together. Jeff answered all of my questions in depth and gave me many alternative questions. He didn't try to sell me on anything but instead told me what the options were for what my desires/wants were. Window Works recommends a full frame replacement at a value price which is the ONLY way to go because the frame will rot before your window needs replacing. The crew was local, professional, showed up on time, and cleaned up after themselves. CDI Partners LLC: Great local company that's been around for a long time. One of our commercial office buildings needed some window upgrades and we decided to work with Masterpiece because they are a locally owned and operated company that gave a great vibe of honesty and professionalism. We primarily dealt with Ken and Bruce, both are super laidback and straight to the point kinda of guys. Of the few companies we talked to (bigger companies), Masterpiece was the only one that did not try to pressure us with any type of sales tactics such as "discounts" and other types of "incentives" to sign contract quickly. In the end, the no haggle price we got was still better than the other company with all the so called "discounts and incentives". We really like the no pressure and "keep it simple" process at Masterpiece. The job was done quickly and we had no issues. Lewis Gray: Mason and his crew came around 8:30 am and immediately started to remove our old windows. It was very systematic and efficient. They installed all 14 windows in one day and cleaned up before they left. They made sure that I was satisfied with their work and told me that they get all their business from word of mouth and asked if I could write areview. I normally don’t write reviews but felt very compelled to do it for Masterpiece Windows. A few reasons, these guys are truly local. Most of the companies we got quotes from are national companies that claim to operate locally. Masterpiece folks were very easy to deal with (Ken, Mason, and T’keyah), the windows we bought were amazing, and the cost was the lowest. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much because I had bad experiences with contractors in the past but my experience with Masterpiece (sales and install) was so pleasant that want to make sure they get a good review from me. I really needed my windows replaced quickly because my older parents were moving in. They knew my situation and basically put our project on priority to make sure things were completed before my parents moved in. Les Clark: We had a great experience from start to finish! The sale person was so informative and very patient with us as we had a ton of questions about cost, energy efficiency, and style options. We did not feel pressured at all. We went to a big box store first and their quote was much higher, and the service call was not very personal at all. The installers from Masterpiece were on time and very professional. They did a fantastic job, making sure everything was the way we wanted. We’ve already recommended our neighbors and looks like Masterpiece will be doing a few more projects in our neighborhood.

Jeff Ockomon: Bob Maceda presented the windows to us and we were very impressed with him and we felt he would always take care of us. Installation went great, the windows looked and worked great for 8 years or so. Then the windows exposed to the sun all started peeling and one of the windows the seal broke. I emailed Bob about my issues with these lifetime warranty windows and I got no response. I called him a couple of times and finally he called me back. He explained that the windows were no longer under warranty because the window manufacturer went out of business. He said the windows could be painted, which we ended up doing. He said he would replace the window with the broken seal and only charge me for the labor. He said that he would get back in touch with me soon. Weeks went by with nothing from Bob. I tried calling and leaving messages a couple of times, but no response. I guess he is done with me. In review, everything was great until I had problems with my windows, then I was on my own. Peter Ramsey: I had the same experience as another review I saw here. We were initially happy with the installation and the windows. We have a certificate showing the Clear Choice's All Inclusive Lifetime Warranty, transferrable even. Then within a few years, we have had 11 windows fail because of bad seals. Jen Swindell: Loved the install but 5 years later we have broken seals and haven't gotten any response from the company via phone, email, or social media.Updated to add: They responded to the Angie's list (never actually calling back) that because the manufacturer was out of business that they wouldn't honor the replacement promises made at the sales. Elizabeth Fetherolf: This company is amazing! Bob Meceda is fantastic. I went to the home show in Downtown Raleigh a couple of years ago and signed up for all the free quotes. I had several people come to my house and present me with their options. This company presented the same windows and were less (by more than half the amount) than every other competitor. They worked with me to do my windows in stages rather than all of them at once. The product is good, the customer services is outstanding. Would recommend to anyone!

Sarah Benson: We had a terribly unprofessional and disappointing experience with this company. First, the representative no-showed for our first appointment. That should have been our first sign. But we went with it.Then, installation was delayed due to rain. That's understandable.When windows were installed, there were two that were broken during shipment. We had to wait another 6 weeks for them to be remade. Again, understandable. We tried to be patient.A crew showed up to our house unannounced at 8AM to install one of the two missing windows and told us it would be another 2 weeks for the remaining window. No explanation as to why.It's been nearly 3 weeks since then and we've yet to hear anything.The missing window is front and center of our home and it's been half-finished for months now with exposed insulation and missing trim.Would NOT recommend this company.

Robert Deal: Over the last 4 and 1/2 years we have put in over 1200 of these replacement windows in 4 apartment communities in central Virginia. So far we have not had a problem with any of the windows. They close easily and smoothly, they do not let any air through, the locks are good quality and the double panes have not yet broken a seal. The tenants like them and they have lowered their electric bills. We got them through a dealer in Roanoke without any delays or problems. Overall, I would buy them again, no hesitation.
