Karla Ramos: My pet and I required an emergency visit and the staff took us in right away. The doctor and his vet assistant were very thorough in explaining what situation we were in. Everybody treated my girl with respect and were very sweet to her. I left with the confidence of knowing how to help my baby girl and what steps we should take next based on her diagnosis. I will definitely recommend this vet clinic if you consider your pet a family member and want the best service/treatment for your pets.

The technician that was in the room with us in the beginning, Victoria, was extremely knowledgeable and confident, but made myself and my fur baby feel like we were in good hands. This is the first visit that I’ve had here with Charlie. He had to be sedated so they could get x-rays, and he was Carried back to the room so very gently, which included a nice, soft blanket. I will be coming back here, so far so wonderful.

Maryam Mohamed: I don’t even know where to begin here. The staff members at Care First are truly one of a kind, top-tier, high class, veterinary providers. Each member of their staff is so knowledgeable, but above all, COMPASSIONATE. We recently had to put down my 2mo. old kitten due to lily poisoning, and it was the most traumatizing thing I think my family has ever experienced. We got a card in the mail from Care First a week later, expressing condolences with several doctors messages on the card. I can’t even begin to express how much that meant to me and my family when we are already struggling psychologically from the devastating loss. It’s small things like these that really take this animal hospital to the next level. I’ve also had to pleasure of speaking to Debbie Gordon, one of the hospital founders, and I can’t even verbalize how much of a lovely, empathetic, sincere woman she is. This is a family business that truly serves from the heart and is worth every single penny. Michael G: I highly recommend this vet. I was a long time customer of one closer to my house, but I was no longer satisfied with the care my animals were receiving. I switched to this vet and it is like night and day. The service is extremely professional and customer focused. My dog has been on prescription food for years, but because he is skittish, neither I nor the techs at my previous vet were able to get a urine sample for YEARS. This place has a scoop on an extension rod and was able to obtain a sample on the FIRST try!! On a follow up visit, my dog was more difficult so they kept him for a few hours until they were able to get a sample, then called me to pock him up. Sure beats getting sent home with a plastic tray and a “good luck”.After both visits I received a detailed follow up about his bloodwork. I feel so much better about taking my pets here even though it is about 3 times further to drive compared to my previous vet. They’ve already earned me as a dedicated customer.

In fact, at 3:03 PM on a Sunday it being a 24 hour facility they have no vet in the clinic and I’m not understanding how a veterinary service can operate 24 hours without a vet. How is this a 24 hour veterinary clinic with no vet on site on the weekend? This place should be removed from google when asking for clinics when one is seeking services around normal business hours.

We love Dr. P, and I don't know that I could ever fully express my gratitude and appreciation for how Dr. P and all the staff helped me help Cool J cross the bridge when it was time. And they somehow manage to wrangle my wild child coonhound and drama queen pitty mix. They're just good "doggie" folks - and I mean that in the best way possible.

Dr. Craven at CareFirst Cary performed the procedure. Dr. Craven was wonderful – she not only successfully performed the procedure, but also spent the time to answer my questions and demonstrated genuine caring for my baby. Ashlyn Young: We went to Care First for our dogs spay surgery. She’s a 1 year old, 65lb golden retriever. I was nervous leading up to the surgery, but Care First staff was extremely communicative, kind and took wonderful care of our pup. They even checked in the day after to make sure she was recovering well at home. We would highly recommend!

They LOVE our dogs and always look out for them however they can - especially our boy Panda (in the pic below) who exists to live life dangerously, apparently! 🤣Also, now that they have a new groomer there (who is awesome by the way!), they can handle everything for our babies - vet services, boarding, daycare, grooming, dental, the works!Miska & Panda love y'all! Katie Lee: I cannot say enough good things about Care First on Tryon. Dr Peterson and Dr Craven are who I see primarily for my two cats but everyone I’ve ever encountered there is amazing. They are so quick to get back with any questions either through phone email or text, they always follow up anytime either of my boys are seen, and I can almost always get them same week appointments if not next day. They’re very thorough and answer any questions and give plenty of options. Love love love love.
Abdel Mohamed: The doctors here are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming and they provide excellent veterinarian care. At the same time, it’s clear that their bottom line is their revenue and profit, as their prices can be significantly higher than other Vets. Additionally, they seem to push heavily for surgeries that are not immediately or entirely necessary, likely because that’s their biggest profit center.

Helen B: Sadly people don't know there is better vet care elsewhere. This vet hospital is the reason why veterinary medicine continues to get a bad rep. It is more important to have your name on something than worry about patient care. I have worked in vet med for over 20 years and never seen a practice decide not to assist with a patient because their primary doctor is out of the office. They refuse to allow another vet to review the dog's record to write a prescription for anything. They don't have a reason to give when asked either. The doctor who my pet sitting client sees only works 2 days a week but another doctor can't assist!?! Terrible customer service. This is part of the reason why many individuals are running away from vet med as a career.

Haley Tucker: My issue isn't with the care my dog has received, which was great, but with the customer service which doesn't take your time into account. In a recent incident, I called to see if I could pick up a refill of my dog's heartworm medication and the receptionist, Sophia, told me that it was no problem and to come pick it up whenever. After I made the drive over, I was told in person that my dog was overdue on her annual and Rabies, and they couldn't dispense her heartworm medication until she received those. It has been less than a year since she was seen there and had those things, so that doesn't make sense. I don't usually leave negative reviews but I feel that Sophia could have pulled up my dog's chart while we were on the phone and saved me a trip, it would have taken her 30 seconds. I'm leaving this review so others can be more diligent in inquiring with their customer support and double check these types of availability issues. Everyone's time is valuable and this could have easily been avoided.

At the vet, they just looked at her and said the problem was stress without any testing. So why on the phone do they make it seem urgent then at their clinic they don't do anything but say it was stress. Lacks transparency.

Someone named Mary has a bad attitude I called to speak to front desk staff regarding new puppy plan but instead Mary calls with high level attitude mad because I want answer her questions. Not sure why I need to answer her questions but if she’s this horrible with human contact imagine how she would be with your pet. Someone needs obedience training! I love the vets but very disappointed.
laurice hewitt: I had a great experience taking my first cat to the vet for the first time. Dr. Alberti & my vet assistant were both kind and gentle. Garvey was never anxious, not even during shot time. He basically sat still for his nails to be clipped. I highly recommend them. Also, the hospital smelled good!

So I reached out to them requesting an appointment online. A week later I still haven't gotten a response. My husband tried calling as well. I am assuming they were busy because he had to leave a message on the answering machine, during their business hours. He too, never got a call back. We have been trying to locate a good groomer that is able to properly groom a long haired yorkie but no luck yet.

Ancient Simplicity: Been there 4x and all bad experiences. They don’t take an effort and just want to do the easy route. My dog barks and when I kept him there for few days - when I picked him up they complained and rolled their eyes. The staff are not dog lovers and have no passion. I am done!

Cheryl: Carpenter Animal Hospital has an excellent, caring staff. All of the front desk staff, veterinary technicians, and Dr. Terrell could not be kinder to our dog, who is our baby. They treat him as if he was their own. When he had a gallstone, Dr. Terrell quickly diagnosed it and sent us immediately to an emergency care facility, literally saving his life. We are forever grateful for the outstanding care we continue to receive at Carpenter. I highly recommend them.

They have a very calming, comfortable room for your dog to relax and in their last moments and the staff do the best job possible in those circumstances.

He gives you advice on care for your pet as if it was his own and takes the time to talk with you about your pets care. Jan Johnson: I rarely post online reviews, but I couldn’t pass on this one. In our phones Shaina is listed with the title Super Surgeon and she is very deserving of this title! We knew for months something was wrong with our pit/chow mix, but he fights the vets and other vets never took the time to sedate him so they could give him a thorough examination. Shaina did! She found a very large and cancerous tumor at the back of his tongue; it wasn’t easily seen because of his black tongue. It was removed the following week and our boy is thriving again! She has been right there with us the whole way… honestly, checking in on him daily, giving us pointers on how to reintroduce food, extra hydration, everything. When she was out of town we took him in for what turned out to be an infection and Dr Monce was also great with him. The whole staff is super nice and you can tell they’re devoted to animals. He’s six weeks post op now, we haven’t used the feeding tube since day 6, it was removed after 3 weeks, he’s healed very well and has adapted easily to a life with a tongue nub. This team is very professional and really cares about your pets!

The rescue group used PetSound for all the baby puppies and now our sweetheart is 13 years old and still seeing this loving group. They have been wonderful with info and advice as our aging dog starts to face the beginning of heart failure. I truly have nothing negative to say and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

Zack Van Hoy: Unfortunately our sweet boy Cedric just crossed the rainbow bridge on January 22nd, 2022. He was a joy to us for almost 11 years and my soul dog. We were customers at Pet Sound for 10 years. Dr. Monce and all the other associates at Pet Sound were great to us the entire time. Great care and customer service. I also feel that their prices were substantially lower than other veterinary clinics. Dr. Monce saved us lots of money over the years and doesn't push unecessary procedures or try to drain your bank account. I can't recommend them enough. Definitely give them a try if you haven't!
Gina Segura: As a long-standing customer of PetSound Animal Clinic, I must say that I am truly disappointed in the failure of Dr. Stewart and staff to accurately and timely process the needed paperwork for our pet's overseas travel. The error-filled vet records sent from PetSound to the USDA resulted in costly delays and rebooking of our travel arrangements. When confronted with these unacceptable errors and exorbitant travel charges, PetSound dismissed all accountability.After reading all previous reviews for PetSound, I anticipate that my concerns will be simply dismissed and glossed over with a canned excuse. If overseas pet travel is in your future, please seek a vet who has done the proper homework, for the appropriate travel destination.

Rhiannon T.: Yesterday was our first time to visit Mayfair and we brought our new kitten in for a meet & greet, so she could be acclimated to vet visits and meet Dr. Bailey! The front desk staff, vet tech, and Dr. Bailey were all amazing in greeting us and Elune, as well as making it as "pawsitive" experience as possible! The exam room we used even had a window facing a bird bath, which our cat enjoyed exploring!Dr. Bailey treated our older kitties a few years ago and does an wonderful job. He truly cares for his clients and we are so thrilled to see him at Mayfair!
Caitlin Graham: Our dogs, Abby & Zoe, have been very well taken care of at Mayfair for the last 12 years! Dr Bristol was our vet from the beginning and was always an excellent provider and so caring while our older dog has gone through many health scares. Now that she has retired, we decided to see Dr Bailey who was so wonderful, along with his vet tech. They were both very gentle, friendly, and thorough with Abby. Also, shout out to Monica who is always lovely at the front desk :-)

John Shanahan: We've taken our dog here for years but now the past few visits have left such a bad impression on me I'm finding a new vet.Almost no time is spent with your pet to understand the issue, its just a quick glace and some prescription. Surgery is suggested as a first line option for even minor things. The cost is ridiculous compared to other vets in the area, we only came back here because they had his history on file but that's not enough to keep us coming back now. They won't send our prescriptions to our pharmacy.
James Womble: Dr Rusniak and staff are caring and very professional. They discuss test and treatment options as cost can sometimes play a role in how much to do for a pet. Their office seems like a place where they know your pet , not a big corporate Banfield type place. We are now on our second golden retriever with them and appreciate all they do.
Toni Jabson: First time meeting Dr. Foster as covid prevented me going in with my dog and only brought him in for annuals and vaccines. This time he was having some issues She was very thorough and explained all that we need to do. The rest of the staff is always kind and professional.

S. Adams: I live in Raleigh but Mayfair was recommended to me by two people, when my Persian developed an acute case of Flea Allergy Dermatitis and my current vet was not solving the problem. I've been extremely pleased with the vets and staff since 1981, and wouldn't consider anyone else. The care and compassion is unmatched, as I have said "Goodbye" to several pets over the years. When a difficult decision must be made I often ask, "What would you do if it were your pet?" I want the best care possible for my companions and I get it from Mayfair. Any medical practice can experience emergencies which push back appointments upon occasion, so I've learned to bring reading material. I prefer quality over speed, if that is the choice, in all areas of my life. I love you, Mayfair.

Pepe Rencurrell: Not too friendly. I called and spoke to a receptionist about the grooming salon in the building and she wasn't helpful at all. She took my name down and told me she was going to relay the message to the groomer to call me back, and never heard from them again. She sounded like I was bothering her. Not too nice!!
Mike Kaiser: They are prompt, very friendly to the animals and their customers. They take time to explain things and answer all your questions.
jian hu: When you order medicine online not from this hospital, they will not reply to them. So that you have to go there again to pick up a hardcopy of the prescription and then mail to the seller. It's very inconvenient. I would not go there at the first place if I know this.

sweet bee: We absolutely love this vet. They were very knowledgeable, affordable, super gentle and friendly with our dog, and really had a way of putting us and our dog at ease. I asked them if they would be able to explain possible costs of a procedure our dog may need in the future and they went ahead and sent a detailed cost estimate to my email, and at no point did they attempt to sell anything to us or surprise us with random charges. Our old vet always tried to sell us stuff and we’d always leave with a massive bill. I drove about an hour to animal kingdom because from the reviews they seemed like a better option and I was so right. We will definitely be returning. Worth the hour drive for sure.

I have a Netherland Dwarf rabbit that is like a child to me.Finding a veterinarian that will take care of him AND also one that I can actually trust has been incredibly hard.Animal Kingdom helped me nurse my little guy to health when he battled E. Cuniculi.I am certain that had I not chosen to take him to this animal hospital, he wouldn't have survived.Feel safe in utilizing this amazing facility and all of the staff. I came in for my youngest cat's pre-neuter check-up.I recently moved back to the Triangle after a few years on the rural coast, where vet care was super affordable and the vet I saw was thorough, although lacked a little "tableside" manner (we all know there are some MD's that just can't stand when their patient knows more than they do!)I'm very involved in all my pets' health and have done hours of research when they've had issues before. I don't try to pretend I'm a vet, but it's nice when the veterinarian is patient and appreciates your input as the animal's caregiver. This is definitely what I experienced here!Doc was calm, knowledgeable, listened, took her time and did great with my little scaredy boy. Techs were upbeat, helpful and timely. Even our experience with the clinic kitty was just delightful! Prices are very reasonable ($170 for a neuter instead of $500 at other clinics just across town!).Animal Kingdom is absolutely my new vet clinic for all my babies!

Doneva Garcia: My dog has been a patient there since we moved here in early 2021. I had really good experiences at first, but this year has been really disappointing. My dog has severe anxiety and has to be sedated for any level of grooming. I cannot clean her face or paws without her snapping at or biting me. So I have been taking her here for grooming. This year every time I have tried to get an appointment, it's two months out! I just called today, and there's no appointment till September. I've had it. I don't know if this is an area-wide issue. I did try to call other vets earlier this year when I couldn't get in at Animal Kingdom. But apparently, there is a big demand for groomers who will do grooming while pet is sedated. Well, I'm going to try because this is part of having a good, reliable vet.
K: Our cat needed surgery and before coming here, we went to our local vet and they quoted us an insane bill so we sought after a second opinion and came here. They didn’t have all the unnecessary fees of the original vet and we were given a reasonable quote. Staff was very kind and answered our numerous calls about instructions, food, medicine, etc. Our kitty is back to normal and seems happier than ever :) Thank you so much!
A Pal: We've been using Animal Kingdom since 2018. Even after moving out of Cary, we still drive from Raleigh because they are so good with our dogs and we don't trust just anyone with them. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, truly grateful for the care they've given our pets.
M.T. Scott: Unreliable and unprofessional. This is an office that appears to have taken on much more than it can deliver. Two times I have had an appointment for grooming that did not go off as planned because the one groomer they have was out sick. This 2nd cancellation was incredibly disruptive and disappointing. I had the appointment for months, could not get an appointment elsewhere on short notice, and it has screwed up our plans for a trip. The office person responded by stating how busy they are, they are only "1" person, the groomer has covid (last time it was something else), and similar statements. This is unprofessional. Bottom line: If you cannot reliably perform services you advertise as offering, then stop taking appointments for them. If you can only hire 1 groomer, then stop the service altogether as you know continuing to offer this service will ultimately harm customers when the one person gets sick, as has now happened both times in our case. There is a reason that many (if not most) vets don't offer grooming, maybe you should consider following their business model and offer only those services that you can consistently deliver on. Extremely disappointed.
