Tonya Martinez: They have fish. But I found the employees to be aggravated when I asked for help twice. I could tell they didn't have the time to help me or answer my questions. So I bought fish somewhere else.

Donnie Jenkins: The business is super awesome to walk around in, staff seems to be knowledgeable (really depends on who you talk to). They have lots of great supplies for aquariums, but that is about the only positives I can say. I have bought about 20 fish over the span of 6 weeks and I think I'm at about 10 of those being alive now. They just seem to slowly die a few days after i get them. I drip acclimate them and test water parameters before adding fish. I have 30 other fish that I bought online and they are all still alive and healthy. There have been days where I go into the store and their tanks just look like morgues. I can understand a dead fish here and there, but when I see 5 or 6 dead in multiple freshwater tanks, it makes me weary on purchasing. They have a return policy, but it requires you to bring the dead fish as well as a water sample for testing. That would be super easy to do if the fish die all at once, but they are just slowly dying off so it require me to be at the store multiple times a week in order to receive any kind of refund so it just wouldn't be worth it personally. I will just take the loss and buy elsewhere at this point. Will definitely still shop here for supplies, just not fish.

Katherine Franceschelli: I love this place! I started coming here about 6 months ago when I got back into having an aquarium and want to support local. The staff there is phenomenal - I always forget his name but there is a younger man there that is always extremely helpful and takes the time to answer any questions. Fish are well taken care of and healthy. No hitchhikers have ever been introduced to my tank from here either. They often have nano fish that are hard to find anywhere else! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Beth Wilson: 5/1/23 My husband and I went to the Raleigh location today to just look around, and ask some questions. The employee's there were very nice and helpful.Ben, specifically, took time and answered all of our questions; which some, I'm sure, were really stupid questions. He did not act rushed at all and was extremely knowledgeable about everything fish, aquarium, and maintenance related issues.We may have to tweak our water situation first (as we had them test it), but if we do buy an aquarium, set up and fish, we will certainly come back to The Fish Room.

Anya Harms: Been here a few times, the store is pretty cool and well stocked, with large areas for saltwater and freshwater, plus a smaller nano section (where smaller makes sense lol). The staff is always very welcoming, friendly and helpful.We ordered a tank which didn't get shipped, but this was not at all the fault of the Fish room staff, it was a hiccup with the place that was supposed to ship it. I was really impressed with how well everything was communicated.We ordered another tank, again great and prompt communication. Two of the guys (I'm terrible with names I'm sorry!) even carried it out and helped get it loaded, really above and beyond. Thank you!!!

Tonya Blowe: Purchased two very very small Borneo loaches asked if they could be eaten as I have two very large snail's was told no! I found one of the very large snail's eating one of them I even have it on video, nvr found the 2nd loach again but was told I needed the bodies and a water sample! Yes I will nvr buy from them again.

He assisted with alternate options if Tropica was out of stock, replies were quick and attentive, and no extra sales were put on me. He let me take my time in ordering exactly what I needed.
