Spring Arbor of Cary: what do users think?
Dr. Laurie Buob, MS, DC, FASA: It is not the best or the worst place. But found out they sold me on their activity program which was not provided. My mom loved The Glade at Glenaire and I had hoped SA would provide customer service. But SA did not. My mom got worse and worse. They are understaffed and some staff were more concerned about texting etc vs spending time with the clients. I found a home where there is only 6 people and 2 staff. I moved her out. I had asked for community fee back because they sold me a bag of goods they could not provide. If I knew this I would have never put her there. Such a racquet!
Carol Fritz: Short staffed in memory care :~(((.That really is a crime to have so many residents with dementia that need care and not have enough help. The health care attendants that are there are wonderful and do their best, but they are overworked and cannot take care of all their patients.
Beth Adams: I have had the pleasure of working with the awesome team at Spring Arbor of Cary for the past 8 months. How wonderful it is to find like minded individuals whose number one goal is to provide excellent care and service to their residents. Ashley Garner & I collaborate regularly to be sure both our clients at A Better Solution and her residents are receiving the perfect level of care & support. We've had home care clients of ours who eventually need more care and Ashley and Spring Arbor of Cary are always at the very top of my list for people & senior living communities they should visit and experience. Special thanks to Jennifer Earp, Shirley Mcneil, & Lisa Lynch for being Rock Star leaders when it comes to setting the bar high for care & service at Spring Arbor of Cary. I highly recommend this community for you & your loved ones.
Patty Reichmeider: Our loved one has been here for just a short time but our experience here was very positive. The staff has been very kind, supportive, and available. They have unending patience with the residents. Our loved one was a very picky eater at home but has eaten things here that she hasn't eaten in a decade! She has enjoyed the food, company, activities and staff. Thank you, Spring Arbor!
Sarah Frankland: We moved my neighbor into Spring Arbor after having a terrible fall, a month at the hospital, and 3 weeks of rehab. They have been beyond helpful for her and for us with all the logistics. John goes above and beyond to help us with things that we need for her. He has been absolutely amazing! The staff is all so friendly and helpful. They really take the time to get to know and interact with all of the residents. Our neighbor has been especially happy with the physical therapists here. They encourage her and make her feel good about her progress. Thanks to them she is able to walk almost without a walker. This place has been amazing for her! It is a bit expensive, but the cheapest that we were able to find in Cary.
Jeanette Cooper: Spring Arbor of Cary is a very caring Assisted Living community. The Staff and workers go out of their way to make the residents feel at home.
Sheila Littlefield: The staff have gone above and beyond expectations during this recent pandemic. The planning and work of everyone has kept the cases of Covid 19 to a minimum and there has not been spread among residents. Although there has been restrictions in visitation and outside trips, this has kept the residents safe. They have instituted a program of vaccination that is systematic and will insure that all staff and residents have received the vaccine.I know of other facilities that provide memory care and none of them have the weekly activities, ongoing care, and personalized services that Spring Arbor provides.
Kerry Hughes: We had to make one of the hardest decisions of our lives placing my father into a memory Care unit. Ultimately, it was the right decision for the place he was at with Alzheimer's. Spring Arbor assured us they were equipped to handle any situation. Please note, you really only speak with sales folks that have nothing to do with direct care. Spring arbor looks lovely and when we moved my father in, it had a wonderful director that was hands on and helped bridge gaps. Debbie Hart took over last June and it has been a nightmare since. Her direct quote "although spring arbor looks asthetically pleasing, we are not equipped to deal with many of our residents therapeutic needs of those individuals" it is so difficult to make this sort of decision for your loved one and I hope this review helps. Too often you don't truly know what the facility has to offer before you are moved in. Pay attention to the smells and how the residents look and are taken care of. Especially the male patients. Visit throughout the day. All the activities they list- I rarely ever saw any of those occuring. It is dark and quiet. Staff often sitting in chairs on their phones. My father hadn't been shaved in months after having care plan meeting after care plan meeting. And he is very functional and independentLook at the food as well and accomodations of all the residents. We just moved my father out of state to a facility I am so thrilled.with. We really didn't know how bad this situation was until we moved.him out. I hope this helps at least one other family. Best of luck on this hard endeveor. There is good care. Keep looking.
Alison Eyth: It's a beautiful building. My mother-in-law is very happy there. They take good care of the residents.

Brookdale MacArthur Park: what do users think?
G O: The quality of this place has gone downhill since Carmen Scott took over. She does not care about her employees, her only concern is getting as many new residents $$ as she possibly can while putting on a mirage for visitors and family members who quite frankly don't have a clue as to how this place operates. This place is understaffed, underpaid, and residents aren't getting the attention they should be. In addition, the location is not safe at all. There have been multiple car break ins (with police called) in the parking lot of the building and it's only a matter of time before someone actually breaks into the facilities.
David Bingham: I highly recommend Brookdale MacArthur Park to anyone looking for five star care with staff that are attentive, sensitive and knowledgable. I chose Brookdale because many of the key staff have been with them for five or more years which is more important to me than the size of their room or the number of activities they offer. The sales rep Casey was amazing and did everything she could to help us with this emotionally difficult decision by answering all of our questions quickly and with empathy. Most importantly, everything she told me ended up being true after we moved my parents into their new home. To make it even nicer they actually had a red carpet rolled out for us when we arrived. Nice touch.
Diane Doumas: My mom came to Brookdale MacArthur Park in December, 2021 after suffering a stroke. My entire family was so pleased with the care and attention my mom received during her short time there. I wanted to recognize the various staff and excellent leadership at that facility. Our first interaction with Casey Brown, Sales and Marketing, made a difficult transition with a physical transfer from Northern Virginia to NC feel seamless. Casey went out of her way to facilitate the actual transfer when there were issues with documentation, etc. My second interaction was with Carla Hayes who also went out of her way to help me with filing a claim for long term care insurance requiring detailed documentation. During her entire time at Brookdale, the front desk, especially Dawn was so kind and responsive anytime my sisters or I called. I am also very appreciative of the overall leadership demonstrated by the Executive Director, Carmen Scott. I was so impressed with the frequent and timely communication regarding Covid and ongoing activities in general. When my mom passed away in May 2022, several members of the staff, including a caregiver and the chef, stopped by to share their condolences which meant so much. Please share my thanks and appreciation with the entire Brookdale team.
Debbie C: My husband has lived at Brookdale for seven years. The staff has treated him and us like family. He is very well taken care of each day.
Kim Otten: Brookdale has taken great care of both of my parents for a number of years, and my mother lives there currently. The staff is caring and knows the residents very well, and they've done a great job keeping everything as safe and pleasant as possible even during the challenging months of the pandemic
Subas Dhakal: Staffs are very nice. I went there to notarize a document. They are very friendly and well mannered. I really recommend this place.
Jorjor “FreddyBoy” Well: A really nice assisted living facility
adam zimmermann: Nice green park with a playground. Be careful of low areas during after rain as it can get pretty wet.

Sunrise of Cary: what do users think?
Ruth Salvesen: After the tour at the Sunrise of Cary, my husband who will be staying there sometimes in the near future, came back home so uplift. He had a great time, got to enjoy talking with a gentleman his age that the director hooked him up with. The facility is particularly more beautiful than other Sunrises, clean, people and residents, were lively, happy. I think with Diane, the director of sales, experience, she made our tour the most welcome and the friendliest person! We love to be back there as the time comes.
Stacey Dietrich: Had a very unpleasant experience with Sunrise of Cary. Moved our 77 year old mother who has dementia into their memory care facility. Mom had a very difficult time transitioning and declined rapidly. She lost 60 pounds in 4 months; was agitated and aggressive. The staff and administration never had a solution to help her other than to pay for one on one caregivers. We moved our mother to a new facility that is loving, caring, and willing to put the extra effort in to help all the residents. Mom has gained weight, hasn’t had one episode of aggression, and ia very involved with activities, and has been discharged from hospice care.
Heather Thole: I have worked at Sunrise of Cary for over 3 years and it has been one of my favorite buildings to work at (physical therapy through Legacy). It is a very welcoming, homey, and a work-family environment. I have really enjoyed the residents and facility staff here (in addition to my Legacy team). No building is perfect, but I highly recommend this facility.
Leland Decker: This place is dangerous for your loved one!! DO NOT MOVE ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS PLACE!! Prior to his passing we moved my 89 year old father, who was suffering from a stroke as well as Alzheimer’s to this location. The staff here do not watch the residents. My father was able to get out of the building not only once but twice!!! Their “fix” to their lack of ability was to have sitters sit with him to help keep an eye out for him at a rate of $25 per hour in addition to the over $10k per month for him to reside there. Aren’t you in the business to care for the elderly?? Isn’t your memory care unit supposed to create a SECURE and safe space for the residents???? THIS PLACE SHOULD CLOSE THEIR DOORS!! THEY ARE UNABLE TO CARE FOR THEIR RESIDENTS AND CHARGE AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR WHICH THEY DELIVER NO SECURITY!!!I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY!!
Tricia Garrett: Mom often comments on Sunrise of Cary's beautiful, homelike atmosphere and how they're feeding her too well. She can choose some alone time or to participate in fun social or exercise activities. By supporting her with a gentle routine, the skilled memory care staff have made a huge difference in her ability to retain as much independence as possible.
Beatrix Park: Very rude customer service. whoever answered the phone needs to get retrained. hung up abruptly on me & was rushing to get off the phone
JENNIFER BARATTA: What a wonderful and homelike facility. The staff there genuinely love their job and it shows. They were wonderful with my mom, I cannot thank them enough.
Emilie S: I have complete peace of mind knowing my Father receives excellent care and attention on a daily basis. He frequently remarks at how happy he is with the food. I join him for meals from time to time and can verify the food is well prepared and pleasingly presented.
Sheri Norman: My dad is so loved by his family. He has impacted so many in his 88 years. Parkinson's and dementia have brought the need for around the clock care. He spent 5 months with a skilled nursing facility that could not keep up with his care or safety. We found Brighton Gardens of St Charles, IL and from the very first conversation we knew this was the place! Compassion, care, investment not only in my dad but his family. Peace of mind, compassion, care, and dignity. He deserves this and we are so grateful for the people and care. The memory care wing is so bright and spacious, clean and looks like someone's home rather than a long-term care facility. Dad was met with "Welcome Home" when he arrived and this was just what we all needed. Thank you Brighton Gardens of St Charles for everything! Angelica, Kelly and everyone, you have been an answer to prayer. God bless all of you!
Shauna Newby: Poorly organized & very unprofessional staff , ed and bosses ! If you are looking for a place that is going too hire you for a couple days then fire you over nothing here is the place to be ! Bosses will leave you on read and won’t respond to messages & Residents have complained about food and they aren’t changing to much .
Kaitlan Williams: Unorganized & poor interviewing skills
Ant Oj (Ton): If you're looking for loved ones to be abused. This is the place!
Kim Major: I’m very disappointed with the turn over. My mother has been here for years and Serenity was amazing. She really cared and loved mom and Jennifer the ED fired her! This place is going to continue to go down. The food is horrible management never wants to help Serenity was the only person that would help out and was informative. It’s very sad how they treat their team members. You will be missed Serenity you were amazing! Your a wonderful nurse Sunrise did not deserve you.
Heather Clausen: After hiring me as a full time RN (and I specified a 40 hour work week) I was told that management "made a boo-boo" and that I would have to cut my hours. As I am supporting my family I refused to do that. They gave me no training and then proceeded to write me up for anything they could think of. They have no policies and procedures to follow and lack any organization whatsoever. They made sure it was stressful and unpleasant for me so I told them I was looking (being nice and not just quitting). For that I got a phone call the next morning for the ED and the RCD told me I was fired and that I had to be escorted into the building. I just found out that they blocked my unemployment. I had a great relationship with the residents and the other staff members. I deeply regret giving Sunrise Cary one minute of my time; they don't deserve it. Virtually everyone there was unhappy and planning to quit.
graham swift: Found them helpful and caring
Kimberly Nesbitt: If you are looking for a Community for a loved one that gives you peace of mind that there will be quality care and compassion when you can't be there then I definitely recommend Sunrise of Cary! The entire staff is efficient in listening to feedback and helping to implement changes that need to be made or help resolve any concerns. We have been very pleased!
Kat T: Friendly staff, beautiful facility.
Janet Lively: Pleasant

Swift Creek Health Center at The Templeton of Cary: what do users think?
Ernie Kastner: It is hard to find the words to express our appreciation and gratefulness to the staff at Swift Creek HC at The Templeton. Our mother who is 93 years old and on hospice could not stop talking about the loving care she received. "I never felt so secure, loved by the staff, and the food was excellent!" If you are looking for a place for your loved one, you have found it at Swift Creek Health Center at The Templeton!
Crystal Hunter: This place is very clean and pleasing on the eyes, but that’s it. My dad was admitted here on 3/22/23 for short term rehab after suffering a mild stroke. The intake with the nurse was fine. I asked about meal times, bathing, medication times, PT and OT times. I was given all of the answers you want to hear when it comes to placing your family members in a facility. The staff has a high turnover. I only saw one nurses aide Tracy who was the only constant face. Tracy was great with my dad. There was someone new everyday. When I asked questions about my dad no one knew. They would say, this is my first day here, I’m from the agency or this is my first time on this floor. I inquired about his bath time which I was told was only 2 x’s a week, I was told 3x’s a week. The charge nurse Wendy isn’t friendly. When my dad arrived by ambulance she and another nurse had to put him in a chair to be weighed and she was being very stern with my father about positioning himself, my father was unable to support his own weight and I found it unnecessary to speak to him the way she did. When my sisters and our mom went for a visit, my sister called me and said one the nurses was rude as h*ll to them. She said dad’s breathing was labored and his pulse in his wrist was faint, and he was barely able to talk, but when he did it was in a whisper and when they asked Wendy about his breathing she said Wendy rudely told her that she can’t discuss anything with them because they’re not on his paperwork. It’s not against the rules to express a concern about someone’s breathing and her addressing the concern without giving details. I called that night and told the nurse that I believed he was dehydrated and needed an IV. The nurse told me that the charge nurse would make that decision and she would be back in the morning, but she noted I was concerned about dehydration. I called back the next morning and was told the notes that were left said ” he drinks fine”. My dad a VA appt 2 or 3 days later, when he arrived at the VA I met him there about 15 min afterwards. The nurse comes and gets me and she’s asking me about his baseline. We go into triage and I speak to my dad and he doesn’t acknowledge me. I’m looking at him and I notice his eyes look glassy and starts to drool a little and the nurse is asking me is this normal and I say no! I ask her if he’s having a TIA right now and she calls the ER to let them know she’s sending him down.He gets there and they run all the test. 7 hours later they tell me he was dehydrated and he was on his second bag of fluid. Not only was he dehydrated, the nurse casually mentions to me that she cleaned his bedsore and changed the dressing. I said did you say my dad has a bed sore? She said yes, oh I thought you knew and I said no I didn’t know. Now, not only has he loss 14 pounds, he now has a bedsore in exactly 2 weeks to the day that he’s been there(3-22-4/5/23). His skin was fine at admission check in. He returns to Swift Creek around 1am. I call and I’m given the we’re so sorry we thought you were aware speech from the facility manager. I never heard from PT or OT no matter how many times I was told someone would call me. The first time I heard about his progress in PT/OT was when I was informed that his insurance was discharging him (4/12) I found out PT noted that he was doing 25% of the work to their 75%. A reviewer stated that they would put their food out of reach that is true. They also had my dad as a self feed and he wasn’t. He needed assistance, but was left to feed himself which resulted in him losing 14 pounds exactly 2 weeks to the day that he was admitted. When he was discharged from this place I took him straight to Duke hospital were he was admitted for 11 nights as a failure to thrive due to poor nutrition and weight loss. For ref my dad needs total care. I also had no clue that my dad had a UTI until 3/4 days after they started treating him. So UTI, bedsore, and dehydration all in 2 weeks of arrival. Please don’t let the decor and lights fool you into admitting your love ones here.
Rebecca Carrington: Wonderful place to work. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I instantly felt comfortable and felt like I was a part of the work family. I would highly recommend becoming a part of our team!
Hayden Taylor: Swift Creek Health Center is a gorgeous community and highly recommended. They have hard working staff, from their kind Administration to their care team, that demonstrates genuine care to all.
Wendy Bambach: Great place to work. Everyone is helpful
Jenna Caso: My friend is at swiftcreek health center in Cary and has had a really great experience thus far, beautiful facility with wonderful and caring staff
Faith Faircloth: I am interning here at Swift Creek Health Center for the summer of 2023. Everyone I have worked with so far is wonderful. The staff is hardworking, attentive, and respectful. They truly care for the residents here. I have witnessed many interactions between residents and staff, and it is very professional.
L K (Concerned in USA): My mother is a current resident of Swift Creek, and I must say the conditions on the 4th floor have been appalling thus far. Every time I have come to visit her room is filthy. They don't turn her resulting in bed sores worthy of a horror film. They place her food where she can't reach it to feed herself. They leave her laying in urine for upwards of 12 hours resulting in blisters on her skin. We have brought these concerns, although they've gone beyond being simply concerning at this point, to the attention of Administration, only to be gaslighted. The neglect at this facility is nearly criminal in my view.
Kelli Naramore: My dad was a resident for 1 1/2 years and one of first residents during Covid lockdown and understandably there would be issues being a new facility however corporate management was aware they did not have enough staff but continued to move residents in with high care needs. We had so many care issues not receiving medication properly, catheter bag not emptied, hydration family member had to go everyday to insure he was cared for and ate. Meals were dropped of in room on trays not always correct, missing items and no help opening. Call times for help 40 minutes or more. Now that he has moved he is thriving and we realize how bad our experience was and the lack of engagement he received. Many residents have moved family members out in last couple months due to care issues.
Healthcare Healthcare: This is such a beautiful community and it offers all levels of care! Highly recommended!
Margie Hennessee: From Admissions to Medical Director to the Chef, Swift Creek is the best of the best! It has been assuring to know my Mother is receiving all and every service she needs in a clean, safe and pleasant environment. Always making sure that my Mother's health and safety needs are first priority. Rehab, PT, SLP and OT services that work with her to reach her goals. The Swift Creek environment is a model of what Skilled Nursing should be!
Kevin Gaskins: The fourth floor patients are not cared for adequately due to understaffing of over booking of patients. The food is not edible and the patients don't get assistance in opening condiment packets. There is NO continuity of caregivers on the fourth floor.
Notary_NC: Worked my first shift here as a contractor CNA on Wednesday Oct 6th. The staff was very helpful and I am pleased that this place is close to my location. The facility is extremely clean and up-to-date. The residents here are also pleasant to assist. As an experienced CNA, I have seen many facilities and this is in my top 5. I will definitely look for upcoming shift opportunities that fit in my schedule.
Teacher Glennie: My father received substandard care at Swift Creek Health Center. We were extremely disappointed. He had a faulty oxygen compressor that he asked to have replaced. It was not replaced. It was leaking ozone, and as a result he could not sleep well due to inhaling it. He asked for water one night after vomiting all day and it took two phone calls by me to get him some water. He was due to be released the next day but could not be transported due to his dehydration that was caused by this lack of water. Oxygen treatments were delayed, causing him breathing problems. Staff was largely dismissive, rude, and/or unavailable. Multiple family members reported the same experiences when visiting. My dad is 91, a retired physician, and still sharp cognitively. He knows poor care when he receives it. There are a few bright spots. The facility is clean and beautiful. Rebecca at the front desk was very kind.
Sandra Langenbach: I would like to express my appreciation for all the help I have received from the staff - both on the Templeton side and the health care side. Nicole has been very patient with my lack of ability to make up my mind, Krista was very helpful with insurance information, Soniya was very helpful with getting my husband moved in, Tim has been very attentive to our requests -(even rehanging a shower curtain for me!!), and Lisa has helped me so much with forms and calling the insurance company - which I really dont like to do. The nurses on third floor have been so patient with my husband and so friendly and nice to me and my family. They bend over backwards to be helpful. The greeters at the desk in the lobby are always welcoming, with big smiles. And my husband is gaining weight because the food tastes so good!!
ric richards: My Mom has been a resident coming up on 1 year. We have continually been impressed with the friendly and caring attitude of the staff from leadership on down to who sees her every day!! The activity’s director is terrific!! Thank You!
Brenda Holleman: My Mother was at this facility and I personally wouldn’t recommend it. My Mother was there and she had one shower in two weeks. No rehabilitation until two weeks of being there. Numerous other issues and when I addressed it with administration not many changes. When she was discharged (of course against their medical advice) because she wasn’t getting the appropriate care we were told she would have Home Health Care, Hospital Bed, and Walker. She did get hospital bed but a Referral for Home Health Care was never sent. Three days later after numerous calls, The referral was sent. Poor communication of administration. Would not even return calls.

Glenaire: what do users think?
German Holmes: Good morning this is the most unprofessional place I’ve ever worked at they are very racist in the HR department is very unprofessional upper management in the housekeeping department very unprofessional. Don’t know how to talk to people in the profession of matter in the EVS department also, I’m sitting down eating lunch and a racist comment was being made towards me ““ he is not supposed to be eating with us. He needs to go to the back to get his food so when I’m working at this place, it is all about the color of your skin, not you as a human being or just a person who care about the elderly it is my recommendation that you really search out this place before applying for employment. Thanks.
Jim Conrad: I’m still rehabbing but hope to be paroled next week. Glenaire is great for rehab or senior living.
mike kasopsky: My 94 year old mother recently spent weeks in Glenaire's rehab facility North Hall, to recover from a broken hip. I can't say enough about the care she received while there. Starting with Amanda the admission's social case worker to the lead nurses, PT's and the CNA's. This was not a place my mom wanted to be and let everyone know. However, everyone was so professional and patient with her even though they knew she was not one of their permanent resident. These folks were definitely a step above some other rehab facilities my family have experienced in the past. It truly is a calling for these workers.
D R: Construction in progress
Teshia Holley: Great place to live many activities, amenities, and great food everyone very friendly
James Parker: Great place for mom. Good food and excellent care from cluster homes to apartment to assisted living to skilled nursing. My mom just turned 100. +GoogleLocalGuides +TraingleLocalGuides
Joyce Henderson: A great place to live The staff js wonderfull.
Prescott Henry: Sister works there and said the people are great, residents that is
Reid Maynard: My parents moved there in '99; Dad passed in '05; Mom had a stroke 4 months ago and now in Medical Assisted Living, still at Glenaire.I cannot say enough good things about this place, would give 6 stars if I could.I hope to move there myself when I am ready.
elbetel gulilat: Their service is a blast
