Sayak Dutta: Before placing the order I checked with multiple stores if I can place an online order and pick up later and everyone told me it’s not possible. However, when I went to the Cary Preston store in person, the asst manager Brent helped me out and said they will do everything possible to help me out. Even after knowing that I’ll place an online order, he walked me through all the details to chose the right paint and tools for my specific requirements. It was an wonderful experience and i felt like my business was appreciated. I even called him a couple of times after my visit and he spent a good amount of time to clarify my doubts and answer my questions. William A Volz (Billy): I will never call anyone else to take care of any painting I need done other than Nathan at Athena Painting service. I found them on Yelp and it was awesome. I filled out a request on Yelp at night and the next morning I was speaking with Nathan. After getting multiple estimates, which they were all in the same ballpark on price, I made the decision to go with APS. I made the decision because Nathan really listened to all my concerns and took his time doing the walkthrough. I had some trim work around our front porch that I was really worried about companies understanding what I wanted. Nathan totally understood what I needed and then found trim that’s guaranteed for 50 years. The repair was done perfectly, if not better than I hoped. Another thing was I only had about 14 days until we were having a graduation party at our house. They finished on time!!! Also when we were doing the final inspection, Nathan found more things to get corrected than myself or wife could find. That’s great customer service!!! You won’t regret choosing Athena and Nathan. Kris Amann: Just finished having our exterior home painted by Athena Painting Services. The end result is stunning. It’s a “show-stopper” in the neighborhood. It took 2 weeks to complete the job. The first week was spent doing repairs. The outside of our home is still about half Masonite- a really junky paper type wood that was commonly used in 1995 when this home was built. So much deterioration as the years go by. The team had to remove the rotten wood type product and replace with Hardie Board siding. The work crew was careful and always seeking our approval. The client manager and owner stopped by often. Communication with the work crew was a little tricky at times, but the owner was always a text away if there were any questions. The second week was the painting week- we went from a light grey to a deep grey with white trim & black shutters. We also had new black gutters installed afterwards by Roof Werks (another great company). I would use Athena Painting Services again in a heartbeat. There bid was the most complete and accurate bid I’ve ever seen- photos included. Communication with managers/owner was amazing. Yard was always cleaned up every night and no one left any garbage around. I never saw anyone smoke or leave cigarette butts around. They took a quick break around noon- probably to get more water, eat, and use the bathroom. Really, it was not an issue at all having them here. We had 3 bids. It was the highest bid by a little bit, but also the most complete. I am certain things would have changed with the other companies as the repairs were definitely more extensive than anyone could have seen. But even saying they were most expensive, they were beyond fair, completely honest and the final outcome was totally to our complete satisfaction. And now we have a 2 year warranty. Heather Carper: We planned a paint touch up project and went to this store for the same paint. We have never bought paint before; our house is new construction and was painted for us. I told the person working with us that we were entirely new to buying paint, that we need it to match our current paint, and that we have no idea what we are doing and need help. She asked what we needed and I provided the paint names & codes. Asked what type (flat, semi,etc) and I was mostly sure but they seemed annoyed that we didn’t just know what the differences were. I had a coupon from our builder and it didn’t work, and the guy there was accusatory and told me I used it at another store. Not sure why the coupon didn’t work, it was probably just that I’d had it too long, but it wasn’t nice to feel immediately accused like I did something wrong. I tried to explain but I could see he immediately got annoyed so just stopped.Fast forward a couple days later. We have painters at our house. They do all the patchwork, then pop open the can of paint that will do most of our house and surprise- it is a lot darker than what is on our walls. Of course we have no idea what went wrong.I call the Sherwin Williams store and spoke to manager Michael who had answered. He didn’t want to listen to me fully explain, he wanted to correct me very quickly and make it my fault. I asked him to please listen, that we came to his store and asked for help, saying several times that we didn’t know what we were doing, said that we have a new construction home, and no one explained what he was so quick to tell me today- that the builders use a different formula that they can’t make anymore at the store. Instead of listening, or understanding the lack of education from his staff that caused us this issue, he continued to tell me the same info over and over and that I’ll need to paint my whole house.Thankfully the painters we worked with knew what to do. They cut a piece of our existing wall and we took that to Sherwin Williams to color match it.I have no idea why the staff and manager were so deliberately unhelpful but fair warning. If you go here for paint, talk to an expert before going over to buy what you need.**Update to say I called the number the business reply provided and left a message. I got a call back and the person I spoke to was extremely reasonable and understanding. She apologized and allowed us to return the paint that was purchased on bad recommendation that didn’t work for us.

Then addresses another guy that just pulled up. I said that i was next he said i need to call and that this guy called. I said how do i call in a color match his response is thats what we come out side for. At this point I just walked away. Ill take my buisness else where. This is how you treat a company who has a national account with yall. Id rather go to home depot. Not to mention the way you guys are operating takes 10 times longer then just having us come in the store and stand six feet apart. Highly disappointed.

Justin Robinson: This review is purely about the passive aggressive tone the support had in an email conversation. I emailed to check on the status of my order. In checking out, you see that it will take 2-4 business days to ship. There is no information readily there to inform you that it will take 6-9 business days prior to shipment to fulfill the order, but apparently it’s in their “FAQ page” and was on my order confirmation email (which I admit I didn’t notice). This piece of info would be helpful in the order placement but I doubt the “support” will take a suggestion. Maybe it’s just me.

Gary Schlachter: We had JH Paint paint our home and make any necessary repairs which they did in Jan/Feb 2020. However, a couple of months after completion, I noticed that the tops our dormers above the garage were obviously still rotten and were just painted over. I contacted JH and John came out and looked at the dormers and said he would repair and repaint in May 2020. I have since called and have been told at least 6 times and been promised they are coming "next week" to do the work. Now they no longer return my calls.

karen craig: The work performed by this company was shoddy. They left paint splatter on my fireplace granite flooring area. Paint splatter and some sort of dust was all over. We had items missing and broken. They did compensate for the broken items. Missing items discovered later. This contractor finished two days later than promised which delayed our weekend plans. They also left areas unpainted. The work of this contractor is not good. Also, they want to be paid in the owner's name and not the company's name so I included both names. They probably had some lawsuits or legal issues. Do not use.
