Heather Carper: We planned a paint touch up project and went to this store for the same paint. We have never bought paint before; our house is new construction and was painted for us. I told the person working with us that we were entirely new to buying paint, that we need it to match our current paint, and that we have no idea what we are doing and need help. She asked what we needed and I provided the paint names & codes. Asked what type (flat, semi,etc) and I was mostly sure but they seemed annoyed that we didn’t just know what the differences were. I had a coupon from our builder and it didn’t work, and the guy there was accusatory and told me I used it at another store. Not sure why the coupon didn’t work, it was probably just that I’d had it too long, but it wasn’t nice to feel immediately accused like I did something wrong. I tried to explain but I could see he immediately got annoyed so just stopped.Fast forward a couple days later. We have painters at our house. They do all the patchwork, then pop open the can of paint that will do most of our house and surprise- it is a lot darker than what is on our walls. Of course we have no idea what went wrong.I call the Sherwin Williams store and spoke to manager Michael who had answered. He didn’t want to listen to me fully explain, he wanted to correct me very quickly and make it my fault. I asked him to please listen, that we came to his store and asked for help, saying several times that we didn’t know what we were doing, said that we have a new construction home, and no one explained what he was so quick to tell me today- that the builders use a different formula that they can’t make anymore at the store. Instead of listening, or understanding the lack of education from his staff that caused us this issue, he continued to tell me the same info over and over and that I’ll need to paint my whole house.Thankfully the painters we worked with knew what to do. They cut a piece of our existing wall and we took that to Sherwin Williams to color match it.I have no idea why the staff and manager were so deliberately unhelpful but fair warning. If you go here for paint, talk to an expert before going over to buy what you need.**Update to say I called the number the business reply provided and left a message. I got a call back and the person I spoke to was extremely reasonable and understanding. She apologized and allowed us to return the paint that was purchased on bad recommendation that didn’t work for us.

I always get exactly what I need and if it's not in stock, they're quick to find it at another location, call it in, and I'll have it fast when I arrive.Today, I went in to get some paint when I noticed Erin was working with 2 very angry customers. Every time the lady, (I don't know her personally, but I'll call her Karen) would walk by me, she would whisper "think twice" to warn me about the "bad service" which was equally creepy and funny. Erin was following protocol and was extremely professional and calm throughout it all. Very well done, Erin!!!

Mike Lang: Waited for 10 mins outside. Watched a guy pull up ask for spanish speaking employee skipping me show him a can that he needed more of in that color brings it out to him. Then addresses another guy that just pulled up. I said that i was next he said i need to call and that this guy called. I said how do i call in a color match his response is thats what we come out side for. At this point I just walked away. Ill take my buisness else where. This is how you treat a company who has a national account with yall. Id rather go to home depot. Not to mention the way you guys are operating takes 10 times longer then just having us come in the store and stand six feet apart. Highly disappointed.

Sayak Dutta: Before placing the order I checked with multiple stores if I can place an online order and pick up later and everyone told me it’s not possible. However, when I went to the Cary Preston store in person, the asst manager Brent helped me out and said they will do everything possible to help me out. Even after knowing that I’ll place an online order, he walked me through all the details to chose the right paint and tools for my specific requirements. It was an wonderful experience and i felt like my business was appreciated. I even called him a couple of times after my visit and he spent a good amount of time to clarify my doubts and answer my questions. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous and I would definitely shop in this store even though it’s not the closest SW location from my place.

Vikki Martin: I don't give bad reviews, my average is 4.5 stars. This review is only for the guys running the help area in the back. Rude. Just rude. To more than one customer based on the end of the conversation we heard as we got in line. Took window screens in for repair including reattaching the clips. The guy taking the order cut my husband off more than once. All he was interested in was name and phone number not what we wanted done. It was the abruptness of the comments. I have no issue that they don't make screens and that they don't reattach the clips but good grief be polite when conveying that. And if you don't reattach clips don't accept them from us to just lose them so that we have to buy new ones. Shame on us for opting to have the work done. Should have left and taken our business elsewhere. 2 stars only because the repairs that were done was decent work. The lady running the check out was super nice. Store clean and well stocked. Just don't get help from the back of store crew.

It has just about everything you need and because it's not a Lowe's or home Depot they'll help you with what you need pretty quickly. Unfortunately some of the staff seems new and service can be a little bit slow. Especially at the front counter But they're organization and friendliness will when you over for sure.

I won’t get into details here, but I will not shop here anymore as I can not support a store who treats their employees so horribly.

Man behind the counter had rude tone of voice from the start and said Benjamin Moore doesn’t make satin paint and then when satin paint was shown on the wall said he would “refuse to sell” me satin paint if I wanted to use it on an interior wall. Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had at a store. Left there fast and will not be back.

Andrew Banks: I would generally avoid this location. I've had my wife go twice during the day with specific asks and both times she has been met with a very poor attitude by the staff behind the counter. My wife is not a professional, so of course she asks naive questions. A professional would help by answering openly and offering solutions, not lording her lack of knowldge over her. She has called me at work from the store both times embarassed and frustrated, and then later crying after she left the store. They've lost my business for good - which is a shame becasue they have a great product and awesome color spectrum. I suppose the good news is that Lowe's and Home Depot can mimic any color.
