AFC Urgent Care Cary, NC: what do users think?
expthread: on website it states you are open until 8. but when i called at 732 pm you said you stopped taking patients at 730. the website should say you close at 730. at a restaurant if it says its open till 10 and you come at 945 the patron gets seated. your website is misleading - and dont ever say to a veteran that boohoo sometimes you have to stay till 9 pm to clear patients. or never say ‘i just work here’. work ethics have tanked in this country
NARC SHIELD: NARCISSISTIC ABUSE AWARENESS: I have Been to the office a couple of times. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The doctor I have seen both times is very nice and I feel comfortable going. It’s a clean office and I have never had to wait long.
Brenda Leggett: Well done 👏
Sandy Paisley: I Always feel comfortable and seen promptly. Very nice doctors and felt I was heard when I was really not feeling well.
Adam Evans: I don’t mean to be rude. For reference, I was scheduling an appoint for a new client, myself for a first time client. I got a text notification to show up 10 minutes before my appointment at 1:30. I did so. It was 1:45 by the time the nurse took me back to the room and took my blood pressure. It wasn’t until 2:32 before the doctor walked through the door. I feel like with a 10 minute early courtesy arrival, I would be seen and hopefully done by 2:30. It took over an hour before the beginning of my meeting. The doctor was kind, but this business does not have the bandwidth to be taking on new clients. 1/10 for speed. 6/10 for the doctor. She diagnosed some of my suspicions for medical purposes, but cut me short from hearing the rest of my problems. Didn’t have the time to take care of me fully :/
A E: I’ve been there multiple times and there’s never been much of a wait and everyone is so nice and knowledgeable. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes to see a doctor after they put me in a room. I’ll never go anywhere else!
Alexandru Mocanu: Got a Covid-19 test for my flight back to Europe. Everyone was helpful, fast and had a positive attitude! Would definitely recommend it!
Althenia Morris: The staff is professional and pleasant. I have used this facility 3 times to get my Covid testing done for traveling and received results in 30 minutes. They are a life saver for me haha
Monica P: I was here to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and apparently they lost my urine. 3 stars because I didn't have to wait long to be seen. Other than that, eh.
Redone Nahn: professional and friendly service! The whole team did a great job . Will use them again in the future if needed definitely.
Aqsa h: I came to this AFC back in October with a burn injury. I had to pay out-of-pocket because my workmen’s compensation had not come through yet.I was told by AFC’s insurance company that once my workmen's comp insurance company paid AFC for my visit that the AFC insurance company would refund me my money. That has yet to happen. It’s been MONTHS since my works insurance has paid AFC for my bills and AFC has REFUSED to pay me back. I’ve called the AFC insurance line every week since NOVEMBER 2022. They keep lying and telling me that they are sending me my money back. I tried calling this location multiple times to help me with this refund. EVERY SINGLE TIME, they have either hung up on me or yelled at me.PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS AFC. They steal, lie and the front desk employees violate HIPPA. The owner is rude and disrespectful. Refuses to refund my money, either ignore my calls or hangs up on me.I’ve tried calling and emailing them and dealing with this through them. But now, I will be calling the insurance commissioner office to report this.PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Chris Perry: Quick and easy office visit and the staff was extremely nice and helpful!
Blake Cazalet: If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THEY TAKE YOUR DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD AND PHOTOCOPY IT. THEN A FEW WEEKS DOWN THE LINE YOU WILL SEE WITHDRAWALS FROM YOUR ACCOUNT. THEY TOOK $90 OVER A 2 MONTH PERIOD FROM MY DEBIT CARD WITH NO EXPLANATION. I CALLED MUSTAFA, THE OWNER, AND HE PROMISED ME HE WOULD REIMBURSE ME. LIAR!!!!!! HE NEVER DID AND JUST THE OTHER DAY I GOT ANOTHER NOTICE SAYING I OWED $30 WHICH IS NOT TRUE. I HAD TO SHUT DOWN MY DEBIT CARD BECAUSE I KNEW THEY WOULD CHARGE ME. ON TOP OF THIS THE GIRLS AT THE FRONT DESK HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THEY CAN’T EVEN ANSWER THE PHONE PROPERLY. ITS A DANGEROUS MEDICAL OFFICE BECAUSE THEY MISPLACE PRESCRIPTIONS (that happened to me) AND YOU ARE TAKING YOUR LIFE IN YOUR HANDS GOING THERE. VERY UNETHICAL!!!
Catherine Gilmore: Friendly, knowledgeable, & convenient!
Don Rowe: I needed a quick turnaround for a PCR test. AFC provides on site results in 30 minutes (unlike the normal 1-2 days when it has to be sent to lab). I was fortunate I didn't have to wait. Had some challenges with the online registration, however both Fatima and Taylor walked me through it. They were both very friendly and patient. Will definitely go back should I require urgent care.
Kamal Aferchich: It was wasy to set an appointment friendly stuff
Matt Silvestri: able to set online appointment and prefill all paperwork for easy check in. friendly staff, was not made to wait long at all for medical services. explained everything clearly and answered all my questions. will use this office again in the future!
Mike Floyd: I was treated in a timely manner with respect. The professionalism is over the top with fast responses. This is the kind of business I'll use in the future.
elhiri lucky: They are very good with customer service and very professional I love this place and the staff
Frank Brown: I required stitches in my chin due to a fall. The two ladies who attended to me were very caring and made sure I was okay before leaving.
Sam Holland: EXCELLENT SERVICESTHANK YOU

NextCare Urgent Care: what do users think?
omar el morabet: Professional work team
John King: Staff and Dr superb!
Luis Chinchilla: Excelente profesionalidad muy bien me atendieron muy bien y rápido
Tony Blackwell: Great Staff at this location, from the reception to the nurses Care to the Doctor! They were All Very friendly and the doctor provided great information pertaining to my Reason for being there and going forward!
Taewan Park: will never pick up calls, they will close unexpectedly and won’t take walk ins
Kirsten Hower: The staff is really friendly and helpful. They were able to fit my daughter in on a same day appointment with a very short wait time. They wrote her prescriptions and we were able to get her started on them that same day as well. I highly recommend this place.
Keyshawn B: The doctor was really kind and extremely helpful. Service was great and the front desk associates were kind as well. 10/10 experience
Sara Gautcher: Worst experience. Waited a full hour. When they finally call me they tell me I have to pay $75 before I can be seen because they are an out of network provider. I show her on my insurance app they are in-network. Then she says “oh sorry that is for the deductible you haven’t met”. I again show I have fully met my deductible. She then just says it is policy and I need to pay $75. I inform her that I just need a step swab and that there is no way that would be $75 considering I have met my deductible and they are in network which means I would only owe 10% of the cost of the visit. She calls another person to go back while I am informing her there is no way this will cost $750, $75 being 10% of that. Finally she goes back to talk to someone and agrees I can be seen and pay at the end but now my turn has passed and I will need to wait likely another hour or more. So incredibly shady. I called her out on her lies of being out of network and also for having not met my deductible so she basically skipped me in line. I left and went elsewhere that is actually above board and not trying rip off sick people by lying to them and taking far more money than they actually owe hoping they don’t get called out on the lie. Stay away!!
Tawanna Jackson: I'm not one to write a lot.Fast, friendly says it allAlways came here no matter whose closerKudos!
A Arnson: This team of dedicated professionals were quick and pleasant too! I made an appointment online and the team were on time! Very cool. I recommend.
Adriel de la Cruz: I booked an appointment online to be seen for foot pain at 10:45 AM and made sure to fill everything out before hand, but still only saw a physician assistant at 11:55 AM. According to the app, I had no one in front of me on the wait list, but the front desk lady said I had one person. The place was mostly empty, two more patients waiting beside me. I waited through annoying talk shows playing loud on the TV. I tried to work on my laptop while waiting but their free wifi was useless. They took X rays and the PA explained, by drawing doodles on a piece of paper, the cause was a minor heel spur, then sent me home with care instructions. I asked for X ray copies to make sure I actually saw my bones, and they provided a CD. These days no one uses CDs, it is time to move on to USB flash. I would not recommend this urgent care.
Anne Johnson: I was seen quickly. Staff all were very pleasant and helpful. Glad I went here.
Madi: Everyone is so nice and attentive. Went twice this week as the doctor told me to come back if I needed to and they took care of me both times. Amazing team!
David Herrick: All the staff were polite and professional. The lady at the front desk was amazing. My insurance is for "catastrophic" situations only, but she contacted my company and arranged a discount for me, which I didn't think was even possible.
Dawn S: Such a great place. Everyone is so friendly and professional. I’d come back if necessary.😀
Susan McCormick: Quick, convenient and friendly service.
Christopher Nolan: Great staff and very attentive to my daughter. Thank you!
Kim Leighty: Very quick and friendly service! The team was very kind to me and my daughter!
Elise Senay: Barely a wait and very kind, professional and caring staff
Kentrell Richardson: I went in a week or so ago last minute and received great service from the nurse Tasha and Dr. Maria. Not sure of the lady name at the front desk but the staff was very nice. I will definitely come back again if I need their services.
Samuel Everhardt: Was seen back in January for what was eventually diagnosed as gastroenteritis. I was waiting for over 3 hours and blacked out in the waiting area 4 separate times due to dehydration and fever. No concern was shown, and no help was given. Not even water to try and get fluids into my system

MinuteClinic: what do users think?
Mikhail Isaev: I was today here. Very friendly personal (Megan). My children were delighted. I recommend it.
haider alsady: I asked the NP to give me a flu shot for my son the answer was no she said I'm waiting for someone. later the NP was inside did nothing and closed her door after 15mints I asked her to give my son a flu shot she said she was waiting for someone and close her door again, I was waiting outside and no one shows up. She was just hiding do nothing. it is the worst clinic ever.
Shelbe Hrnicek: This place has severely gone downhill, I wanted to give it once more chance and they wouldn’t even see me as a walk-in. There was ZERO other people in line or waiting and they wouldn’t give me a time to be seen or let me wait. The PA/Nurse was quiet literally just wandering around.
Robert Buchan: Service used to be very good here. Never waited more than 5 minutes and the PA's were and probably still are very good. However the last 2 attempts have been exercises in futility. I had 2 appointments that I had to abandon due to delay. Only one PA operating and if you are making appointments for 15 minutes I plan my day around that. First one left after 15 and next one after 10 as the person before me was only admitted after I was scheduled to go in. Very poor and what a shame I really like minute clinic. Will have to find another one or try different time maybe.
Roxane Soucy: Nurse Murina was wonderful! Personable, knowledgeable, and professional despite a full waiting room, she attended to each person's needs and the only one working in the Minute Clinic area. More staff would be good, especially after 5pm when people arrive for appointments after work, but that's a management issue.
Katherine Wolf: UPDATE: Reduced my rating to one star after receiving ANOTHER bill from the lab work I didn't consent to! It cost me ~$350 altogether for something simple that I already diagnosed myself. Avoid unless you have absolutely no other choice.Prompt, professional, and friendly. Having priority at the pharmacy steps away is a huge perk. However, it's very pricey! Urgent care is cheaper and telehealth is way cheaper, especially considering I already knew exactly what was wrong and just needed the script.
theo aukerman: Slow...more like Hour Clinic. We arrived 5 minutes before our appointment weren't seen until 40 minutes after our appointment. And only one person already being seen when we arrived.
Jordan Penley: Arrived at 7:20 pm and their hours online listed they closed at 7:30 pm. If you close at 7:20 pm you should list that as your hours.
Sydney Eckhardt: I made an appointment online after verifying this clinic performed what i needed done. Upon getting there, check in was easy, and I hardly had to wait at all. The NP (Her name started with a T I think it was Tiara but i could be wrong) was AMAZING. Very gentle and compassionate, but quick. I left feeling well taken care of, and the price was affordable compared to other urgent clinics.
Kayla Fisher: Very good experience here! Quickly checked in and was quickly seen. The NP was so kind and helpful! She helped me with my issues that I came in for and was very informative and caring about my issues! I would definitely recommend this location. I felt at ease about the health issues I came in for after this appointment.
Carmen Ramsey: I’ve been here 3 times and had a great experience each time. Both PA’s that I saw were friendly, caring, and efficient. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Some people may complain about wait times but that’s what you get with a walk-in clinic. I’ve been to urgent cares where the wait time has been well over 2 hours and paid 2x as much for the same level of care. At least MinuteClinic has hours in the evenings and weekends which is a godsend for people who work 9-5 and then have to commute. Plus, you can kill time by shopping or sitting at Starbucks. I’d recommend this MinuteClinic as it has been the best one out of the several I have been to.
Aaron Whiting: Operationally unfit to be in business. We tried them last year and the check-in kiosk froze up several times during check in which added about 15-20 minutes of re-entry. They ask if you'd like to be texted about appointment time updates, those updates never came so we missed our appointment while we were off killing two hours. They don't answer the phone because there's only one person that works there and there's no way to view appointment times online, so you have to keep going back trial and error. They close for lunch, so if they get behind, all the appointments get pushed back an hour. We figured last year was a fluke, so we tried again this year. So far, three trips back to Target over the course of three hours and counting...
Whitley Austin: Walked right in, had friendly service, flu shot was a breeze. Excellent experience and will return here if sick. Very clean as well.
Bunny: Went with my friend to have her TB test read. Waited over an hour and the NP took more than 20 minutes to give someone a flu shot. She then turned away a patient who checked in at 6:30 with an estimated wait time of 35 minutes claiming that the timing in the computer system was wrong and she wouldn’t be able to see him tonight because they close at 7:30. Don’t waste your time here!
Warren Snell: My visit was quick and convenient so no complaints there. What is frustrating is paying a $35 Co-Pay in the office and never being told that I should expect to be billed again a month later.Perhaps it's just my ignorance, but I wish I would've been aware that you get charged twice for a flu test (apparently there are professional and facility fees). I was actually never told I would be charged separately for the flu test at all, let alone twice. The 20 minute visit ended up being relatively expensive (approx. $115 after insurance) just to get a negative result for the flu and told to keep taking my cold medicine. For other people that decide to visit, just make sure you ask the doctors what the actual cost will be for any tests so you aren't surprised later on.
Kristen Murphy: Overall had a good experience, the PA was very friendly and efficient. The only negative was the fact that I reserved a spot in line at 6:06pm and was not seen until almost 6:40pm, even though I was told my wait time would be 18 minutes. I would come back here if need be.
Christa Giammattei: Both times I was here the wrong nurse showed up to her shift, leading to a 30 minute teaching session from one nurse to another on where everything was and how to do her job. When you have strep the last thing you want to do is watch nurses give each other tours. They weren't very sympathetic to the fact sick people were waiting for them. Seems very disorganized.
Michelle M: Took forever! There were only 3 people here. Waited 2 1/2 hours.

FastMed Urgent Care: what do users think?
Anna Meadows: The Doctor was knowledgeable, friendly and listened to my concerns. The front desk attendant double charged me and was not the friendliest.
Veronica Fulling: Very efficient and professional staff from front desk to the PA. Thanks
Vanita Sehgal: Very professional and friendly. Made an appointment rather than walk in. No wait.
Macy: I went in already knowing what I had and was looking for a prescription to get rid of it. They said sure, no problem! Called my pharmacy after waiting over 24 hours for a text to learn that they never even called it in. Not only that, I’m guessing that when they look for front desk staff, “rude” and “standoffish” must be a requirement. Seriously, I’ve gone in here multiple times over the years, and the front desk staff has always sucked. So, if you’re looking to NOT get your medication and be treated as an inconvenience, this is your stop! Live laugh love, I will not be returning.
St.Barbaras Tablet3: Fell saving a trapped bird (true) and cut my arm on shelving in 3 places. PA Marcy was absolutely informative, conscientious and professional while cleaning and sewing me up. Bad day ended with pleasant care!
shonta smith: Thank you to the staff at Fast Med Urgent Care! Care here is excellent with compassion!
Casey Lambert: A very pleasant experience. It was a relatively fast visit and did not take long to called to go to the back. Everyone was extremely nice and professional.
Jared Compiano: Easy to get care. No wait. Fast check in process. The provider I saw was friendly. Very good experience all around.
Mark Anthony: In and out quickly. Unable to scan barcode as directed by agency.
Seth Asher: The website, Google and the sign ON THE DOOR said holiday hours for Easter were 8:00am to 4:00pm. They were not open. Absolutely ridiculous.
Erin Hobbs: Received email open and then drove there and closed. For day. This was for preemployment screen and was inconvenient to have to go back again
Khizr Kazmi: Went to the urgent care on a friday and they were ever so conveniently closed, what kind of urgent care lies about their hours on Google when people are sick? they are only opened Monday Tuesday and Thursday, beware of this place.
Deepak Khopade: Waste of time and money. They dont know how to diagnose the problems and just know how to collect someone's bill using debt collector without sending customer a proper bill. Stay away.
Tina G: I have always had a great experience, very satisfied
Memento Morgan (Effect): The fact that they let you make an appointment online, send a confirmation twice, then have you show up and they’re closed three days a week is AMAZING. I love when people waste my time :)
Keith Mckinnie: My Experience was Awesome at FastMed all the staff were very polite and helpful I wasn’t there long they move super fast
Arun Ramakrishnan: Had a short wait when I went as a walk in which was good. Neat and friendly staff. The PA that attended to me was clear and thorough. I was referred to do a scan and within an hour of the scan the PA called me and talked through the results and next steps. Great experience overall.
Kevin G Rkggsbee: Professional and friendly.
Rahmaan Muhammad: I was a walk in to do a DOT physical. Probably not early about 10 am. In and out less than a hour. The medical personnel had was did the full physical. No shortcuts and I was still in and out of the facility. I thought I was gonna be at Fast Med all day because I started later in the morning. But I was pleasantly surprised to be finished so soon.Everyone was pleasant and attention to detail. I even for got my credentials but one of the faculty ran outside and gave my credentials to me before I could leave. This is my new location for medical services. Thank you for your service. You are appreciated.
Emily Roberts: great experience , highly recommend
The End: Little wait time, clean offices, and expert stitchwork since I came in for sutures after an open wound. Careful removal when I returned, patient throughout, even when sedating under the wound so the sutures could be administered properly.

UNC Urgent Care at Cary: what do users think?
Amber Moshakos Kaune: BEWARE: the hours are posted incorrectly. They close at 7:30. I made the mistake of driving here only to have two people tell me to go to Wake Med from behind locked doors.Fortunately, Wake Med is the building next door to this one. You don’t even need to get into your car. Literally walk from one building to the next. Wake Med takes people right up until 8pm, as long as you are inside by 8. First time there and Wake Med was great!
AJ: FYI WakeMed is on the right when you pull in, the UNC is the building on the left (there’s no UNC sign on the building.)Brought my son here to be seen as his PCP is in the UNC network.Pros:1) We were seen quickly (we were also the only ones in the office at the time).2) You can check wait times online.3) the nurse (Tammy) and doctor (Dr. Derse) were very friendly.4) the waiting room and patient rooms were cleanCons:1) The receptionist was wearing gloves the whole time while handling our intake and paperwork, usually people wear gloves and don’t clean their hands.2) You have to fill out 4 pages of paperwork, even if already established as a UNC patient.3) The office apparently closes from 2-2:30 for a break, that’s not indicated on their website.
Britain Barker: Absolutely horrible and painful experience! The only reason I gave this place 1 star is because the nurse was very kind and thorough. However, Dr. Derse was unnecessarily rough and could care less about the pain he was causing to someone who was already in pain. I would not recommend this facility or doctor at all. Please go somewhere else where you will be better cared for.
C.L.: They weighed me in KGs and when I asked why they were using KGs instead of LBs, the nurse said “because some people are sensitive about their weight”.... This is not a joke.... This actually happened, in the USA, where we specifically use LBs to measure weight. Regarding the rest of the visit, they resolved nothing and just recommended I go to ER or see a Dr... waste of time and whatever they charge me, that will be a waste of money too. One would think UNC would be better.
Stephen Miura: Door says closes at 8pm. I walk in at 733 to empty waiting room. Lady tells me they stop accepting patients at 730. Told me to go next door.
Lauren Langdon: I'm giving 2 stars so that I can at least shout-out the great staff. I'm pretty sure he was MD, possibly PA, but for the sake of this review, I was seen by Dr. Michael Ryder. He was awesome. I wish I remembered the nurse's name because she was seriously amazing...we need more nurses and Dr's like them! My issue is with the UNC Health billing. I have asthma and came in knowing exactly what I needed - a breathing treatment. For the visit, I was charged $399.00 plus the treatment for $67.00. Naturally, I have a high deductible so for this singular visit/breathing treatment, I paid $364 out of pocket. I've never paid more than $50 out of pocket at any urgent care ever, not even for the very same treatment. Actually, I've never been charged that much for any Dr or specialist visit literally ever. I think FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS is a little steep. I called to dispute it and that wasn't going to get me anywhere. The billing person I spoke with said this charge was based on that I was a first-time patient. That's all I'll ever be because there's no way I'm going back there just to be surprised with another unexpected & over-charged bill. I'd sit in a waiting room, unable to breathe for hours, to be seen by an equally skilled staff rather than be out $400 unnecessarily.
RockyRdWarrior: Horrible experience here, after having bad sinus drainage and all kinds of colors showing infection they simply told me l had something viral and there was nothing else l should do But rest. My regular Dr would have told me to take mucinex, Flonase and Zyrtec at least something to help fight it off. I called back 3 days later to state my cough had gotten worse and more mucus discharge and they simply told me l could come back to see the Dr again...why would l l asked the employee on the phone? It's simply a strategy NOT to help someone the first time. No thank you to another revisit here!
Sissy Adams: I had an awful experience with a verbally abusive physician assistant named Brittany Smithmyer. Sadly, as a patient there is basically nothing you can do. You’re at the mercy of whoever is there at that day/time. She didn’t even discharge me, after seeing me. She said, “You probably have a virus.” Then she just left the room and she and nobody else ever returned. She should lose her job. That’s not how you treat people.
Nicole Anamarie: My experience at this place has been always 5 stars. I’ve recently been to this place late October for ear discomfort and I was treated with such great care and I recently just went today for a illness check up and was treated with such loving and welcoming care. Definitely recommend this place 100%!
Jennifer Petersen: Everyone I met from the front desk to the nurse (oops didn’t get their names!) to Naomi the Nurse Practitioner was AWESOME!! Scheduled my time online and didn’t really wait that long when I arrived. Would absolutely go back. Wish they did primary care!!
Julie Thompson: Appt @ 2pm. Still no PA or MD at 3pm. UNC Not-So-Urgent Care. Avoid if you can.
puffpastry: went in for sore throat thinking it might be strep, they took me back to get vitals, looked at my throat and said "yeah thats pretty red" and asked me if I wanted to be tested for strep...???? Yeah? And whatever else it could possibly be? I told them I had a pending covid test so they said we can skip it since I took one the day before and was waiting on results. The higher doctor or nurse practitioner, whichever came back and was very nice and professional. Said we would wait on the 10 minute strep test and go from there. The clinic assistant or whoever came back and said "your test came back negative you're good to go" and was told to wait on my covid test. what? Im still having very painful symptoms? I asked if the covid test came back negative if I should return and the lady shrugged at me and said "I mean I guess" ????? Feel like I wasted time and money on this visit. Wouldnt return. Work on your professionalism :)
Renee Powell: The check in and nursing were good. We did have a longer than predicted wait per their in house screen (screen said 10 min. We waited probably 30). The PA, Jason was why I gave this a 2 rating and would not go back. He was defensive, rude, elevated his voice at us (my son says he was yelling at us), did not give us any other resources. I also work in healthcare and in my 25 year experience, he was unprofessional and under informed. This was a wasted 2 hours for us with no resolution whatsoever.
Rebecca Neuberger: The front desk lady was lovely, but being seen by Dr. Reem Alkadhi was a pretty awful experience. I came in with horrible stabbing pains in my ear and the feeling of fluid (this is coming on the heels of months of extreme tinnitus/hyperacusis/other debilitating ear problems), and after looking in my ear for about 3 seconds she made a big deal of how “perfect” my ears were. When she looked at my chart and saw all the tests I’d had done/signed up for via my PCP, she condescendingly asked “Wow, this is so many tests! Why are you getting so many tests when your ears look perfect? What exactly are you worried about?” When I tried to explain what I’ve been going through for months, she sort of “mhmed” and fake smiled and then reiterated that I was fine and could go home now.She talked to me like I was in Kindergarten, and after the fact didn’t even offer any potential pain management. I got in my car and cried for an hour because I felt stupid and crazy and not listened to. I realize that urgent care has limited time, staff and resources, but there’s just no excuse for treating a patient who’s clearly in pain like they’re insane, or in urgent care/getting tests done for attention. If someone is in pain and you can’t see the cause, the least you could do is offer pain management alternatives or recommendations. Really awful experience.
Kayci Dell'Angelo: Hurt my foot while walking the dogs at my in-laws from out of town. My mother in law suggested the UNC-Rex urgent care off of Kildaire. So glad we went there instead of going back to Charlotte. Ended up having a fractured foot. Was in & out in about an hour - including X-rays and getting a boot. I also got a disc of my imaging to give to ortho follow up.All in all, can’t really complain about the care, wait times, etc. i would highly recommend this facility for urgent care needs in the Cary area.
Frankie Asfari: The doctor came in to check on my son then just left without any comments except that the nurse will be in to do a swab for Covid test. The nurse then came after, did the swab, gave us written instructions and a bit of an attitude. When we got home I tried to create an account on UNC my chart and it said it will be 3-5 days to allow access. I called back and left 2 messages and no one called back. Definitely would not go back there again.
Aly C: The nurses were very friendly and entertaining. I came in with a joint injury that had just occurred but no one offered me any ice or crutches tho I did get a wheelchair with no feet props. A cursory exam by a NP Ms. Walker, was ok and X-rays were good but I never even saw the Dr. O'Rourke. Not sure Id go back.
Matthew Shinners: I think the general thing I would say on this is the lack of care is appalling.I went in to this urgent care because I have had swollen lymph nodes for the last three days with a fever. Based on the conversation with my family member, who is a doctor, they thought it might be mono or the flu. When I arrived the process was easy, the front desk receptionist was very polite and the nurse that took me back was also very nice. She tested me for COVID, which I had already tested myself for today and the test results were negative. This was probably the best part of my experience. After getting my initial check in I spent about 30-45 minutes sitting in my room waiting for my PA to check in with me. The nurse poked in on me about half way through there and let me know that the PA would be there shortly. Again, she was the best part of this. The PA came in and checked in with me, this probably took less than 10 minutes. Gave me a strep test and walked out. After the strep test the nurse that initially checked me in walked back in and asked me if I had gotten my strep test yet (great communication on the team). After sitting there for yet another 30 minutes an entirely separate nurse came in and started talking to me about upper respiratory infections. Eventually told me my strep test was negative. Not even sure why the PA was involved at this point. I was not asked about flu or mono. The amount of time involved in actually discovering my symptoms was very limited and disappointing. Additionally, the investigative portion of this and trying to do other tests wasn't there. In general, this was a waste of time and my money so I could get yet another COVID test and Strep test when I never mentioned a sore throat?Update: After my dissatisfying experience I went to the next building over and went to WakeMed Urgent Care. I found out that what I thought were swollen lymph nodes were actually swollen salivary glands. This took all of 30 minutes. Their PA sat down with me and talked about the difference in location for salivary glands and lymph nodes. Even showed me the difference in location. Not sure how I feel about the fact that UNC Urgent Care couldn't diagnose the difference between swollen lymph nodes and swollen salivary glands. Overall, had a great experience at WakeMed.
Jerred Copeland: I was seen by Adrienne Kovacik. My 15 minute visit consisted of a urine sample. She didn't even touch me. My insurance then received a bill for $408, of which I had to pay $267.64 out of pocket (For a 15 minute office visit and urine sample). My wife recently went to Medcheck for ear pain where they poked and prodded her for over an hour and our out of pocket was $80. I called for a code review. They refused to change it. I plan on reaching out to the BBB. I could get an office visit with a neurosurgeon M.D. for less than $267 out of pocket. This is absolutely ridiculous. America has some of the highest health care costs on the planet and this is why.Need Urgent Care?....NextCare Urgent Care1110 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary, NC 27511WakeMed Urgent Care110 Kildaire Park Dr Suite 101, Cary, NC 27518
Stephanie Freeman: The front staff were very polite and friendly. The nurse, Jeanne, was wonderful. She was very pleasant and compassionate. Erin, the PA, was also caring and very informative.
Bill Fishel: My recent experience with UNC Urgent Care at Cary could not have been better! The front desk receptionist was both pleasant and efficient. My wait (for a cut and bleeding index finger) was given good priority, and I was seen within about 15 minutes by nurse (Jeanne) and PA (Caitlin) who were both most personable and talented - who put me at ease quickly - and who made me feel like family. I am looking forward to re-visiting the staff in a few days to have my stitches removed.
