Justin Cousins-Lee: This place has great customer service to match the amazing food!! I ordered the spicy potatoes and those are definitely a must. I also got the butter chicken and the Shrimp korma and both were amazing !!! I finished off with a masala tea. I love this place and it is my go to Indian spot in the RTP!!
Ingrid Rivera: The meal was fantastic and the service really was above and beyond. I am so impressed by the attention and care we received during our meal. If I could give ten stars I would.
Amer Omanovic: Recommended dishes Chicken Korma, Butter ChickenMore
J. B.: The service here is really great, but it is an order-at-the-counter setup, so not a full sit-down service, but still very helpful people. The food is really good. It is almost as hot as the food served in India, so don't think you can handle the hot level if TexMex is your idea of hot. One of our guests from North Asia said he likes really hot spicy food, but was shocked at how hot the hottest dish was. He had to get extra bread and mix in some yogurt in to finish his meal. The manager was very helpful and offered to replace the meal with something less spicy. However, my friend was determined to finish what he ordered. The manager later gave him a gift card for his next meal. Now that is customer oriented service! I had the shrimp in butter sauce and enjoyed the normal spice level just fine. The cilantro sauce is excellent and adds flavor to the dish.
Jay B: Sorry, but this food is awful. Greasy, does not taste authentic, a real let down. I literally dumped in the trash after a few bites and cooked ramen, which was better/also awful, but that is what I had on hand. For example, sag paneer was mostly onions, and a minuscule amount of paneer (cheese) and sag (spinach)..People give this a good review, why?never again..
Regan Arora: Amazing place to have infian food, samosa chat was super delicious.Warning- Try karahi chicken only if you can bear 8/10 level of spice. I liked it though 😀Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Andrea Wilson: Great food for the money. Complimentary pompadoms with spicy onions, papdi chaat, chicken soup, lamb curry, saag aloo, tandoori roti with butter and garlic naan all for $ 45 plus tip.The only complaint I have is that the chicken soup had a very strong clove flavor which I personally don't like. Everything else tasted great, I especially loved the chaat.Great portion size and the breads were huge, can't wait to try some more of their dishes.Went back today for lunch to try the chicken thali tray for $13.99. It came with a fluffy plain naan bread and it was very tasty.Vegetarian options: Great spot if you're vegetarian
Bonnie Thompson: Absolutely awesome food. Portions are great, prices that can't be beat. Great selection of vegetarian as well as meat dishes. The tandoori mixed grill is unbelievable.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from.
kavin stanes: Wonderful food good hospitality
Jay Balakrishnan: Nice good food with an additional tinge of turmeric.A family-run business where the wife cooks and the husband manages the counter and customers. Also, there is an additional person who is very friendly and prompt, taking orders and serving them. There is a Food Lion adjacent to this place and have seen them walking across for quick replenishment. My favorites are Aloo naan (Eat it warm)/green chutney The Chicken tikka grill (spicy), Onion Bhaji, Samosa chat, Mirchi bhaji, and Chowmein. The prices with the food quality for Indian and Indo-Chinese would make this place a good option for some of the items listed above.Though the Tandoor/Grill/Fried entrees would be their strong points, The curries/gravies would need attention.
R Vaughn: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chicken Tikka Masala, Curry, Garlic Naan, Vegetable Samosa 1 PCMore
Rich Pletcher: Go to Indian ... This place is excellent ... I think the Butter Chicken is exceptional... good appetizers you can find something for your palette. Will do mild, medium, hot spiciness to your tasteFood: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Chicken 65, Garlic Naan …More

Bhavin Shah: Veg Thupka soup is really good.
Alex Bentzon: This is my go-to spot!
Passing CS: Horrible services, ordered another chili chicken to go, but they packed cauliflower which looked like the chili chicken dish! This appears to be more like prank or trick rather than wrong order
Charlie Schmidt: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Garlic Naan, Naan, Chicken MomoMore
Tahnycia B: I give this a 2/5 because I can’t tell if the this is butter chicken soup or what ..I was very disappointed in this meal and my chicken is still pink. Maybe i didnt have the best luck but this wasn’t a meal i’d eat again.
Thom Hyde: This might be my favorite restaurant in Raleigh (maybe crazy to say, I know - but the quality of the food, cost to deliciousness ratio, and consistency is tough to beat), and certainly my favorite Indian food I've had.Not many other meals cheer me up as much as a plate with the perfect mix of gobi Manchurian, saag paneer, and extra spicy chicken Tikka masala with some roti or garlic naan ready to go.Definitely recommend checking it out for yourself!
Prasanna Negalur: Best veg restaurant in nearby area. We went here couple of time in last one month for dinner and the taste is awesome. The best dish to try is the nepali tarkari sabji. They make veg and non veg in different containers and so the veg items don’t have odd taste. Definitely recommend.Recommended dishes Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi …More
Sonia Hussain: Delicious food! Their chicken and lamb biryani, chicken dumplings, Himalayan coffee and tea are so delicious!
Jason Reither: This is my new favorite "Indian restaurant " its kind of no-frills, but the food is amazing and so is the serviceFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Garlic Naan, Curry …More
Rhonda Renee “Sosanna” Olson: Update: We forgot about this place! Came back and WOW! The lentil soup was amazing Gobi manchurian was awesome and the veggie momos were fantastic! We will come back again soon.Loved it. The ginger tea was great. We ate the vegan options. Really yummy.Vegetarian options: Great vegan options.

Prashant Singh: Don’t trust on their Google maps closing time. They close much before. Today I went at 1:50 pm when they were scheduled to close at 2:30 pm. The server saw my family coming in and closed the gate and when I asked he said that their kitchen closes at 2:00 pm so I can’t order. Pathetic.! Please save yourself some trouble and find a good restaurant to spend your money in.

CholaNad Restaurant & Bar: what do users think?
Travis C: We arrived at 8pm on a Wednesday night.Service was unimpressive and very slow for the number of patrons inside. ( two other tables)Waiter never came to check on food or offer drink refills. We saw him three times, when we ordered, when he brought the food and when he brought us a check.I expected a little more interaction.Food was delicious.
Grace Mulholland: I lived nearby for years, but with all the other options on Franklin Street, I never wound up at Cholanad. I'm glad I finally did! I got the pepper chicken appetizer, and it was really flavorful without being overwhelmingly hot. The chicken was also perfectly cooked, which I really appreciate (I cringe whenever I find myself paying restaurant prices for dry chicken). My husband's chicken curry dish was also delicious. The staff accommodated us when we walked in about 30 minutes before closing time, which we really appreciated, and the service was excellent.Parking: Parking is behind the building, with the entrance in Rosemary St. The number of spots isn't huge, so allow extra time in case you need to find parking elsewhere on a busy night.
peter bohlen: Service was a bit slow and our drinks were an inconsistent alcohol level (first drink very weak, second drink very strong). Will revisit and try again as the food was fantastic.
Zhang Xin: 第一次吃到印度南方菜,一米长的米饼里卷了鸡肉和羊肉端上桌时非常震撼!
Mohd Rehan: We came here for dinner. It was quite empty but the ambience and service was great. The food was delicious and neatly presentedFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
John Britton: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Chicken Tikka Masala, Crispy Plain Dosa, Chicken 65More
Frank Webster: Traditional Indian food plus uncommon south Indian dishes. The tiger-dosa (veg) is the best dosa I've ever had. The varuval chukka mutton is not the best, but try it since it is a rare find in the states. The cuthu parrotha is another rare dish worth trying.Parking: See website for location of parking off Rosemary street.
J Holmes: Solid South Indian cuisine. Lamb vindaloo had a pleasant spiciness, definitely on the hotter side for an order without any explicit request to make it hot. Great flavors, and felt quite authentic, particularly the chicken chettinad. Naan came with a butter sauce that tasted like a classic tikka masala and complimented the spicy south Indian dishes nicely. I am glad I tried them.
Zeba Darvesh: One of the best authentic indian restaurant in the chapel hill area. We enjoyed their thali's and fish fry. The samosa starters were also yummilicious!
Warren Kibbe: Went there on Mother’s Day. UNC graduation too! Very busy but the food was excellent and the space inviting.Recommended dishes Crispy Plain Dosa, Pepper Chicken with Ceylon Veechu Parota Salna …More
David Baker: This place is amazing, easily one of the best Tamil restaurants in NC. The Vindaloo was fire hot as it should be, the Dosa's were fresh and authentic, staff friendly. This is a 4.8 restaurant, at least!
Brennan Jewett: The food was pretty good. Not the best though far better than one of the other Franklin Street area Indian restaurants we tried. The service was mediocre. Our waitperson Lindsay was good and attentive, but some of the other staff seemed like they were lost. One guys was super friendly to patrons, but rather rude to the other staff. We ordered two drinks that were overpriced and total junk. We mentioned it to our waitperson whom insisted that they make us new drinks personally. The 2nd round was very good! However based on this experience we’ll probably order takeout the next time we want food from CholaNad. Cheers!
Pakis Asadobay: Nothing special. My salad didn't look fresh. I asked if the dish was spicy and the waiter said no, but it was. So, I could not enjoy my meal.Food: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Beth: We, as Indian Foodies, love this restaurant! The food is among the best in the Triangle and the atmosphere and service are wonderful.Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options!
Alex Eaker: Last month, I enjoyed an outstanding dining experience at CholaNad. I made a reservation on OpenTable and the five of us dined on the patio. It was my birthday, which I noted when reserving, and I received complimentary champagne. The service was exceptional and food was delicious, especially the Mango Pineapple Chicken dish. Portion size was okay for the price, and cocktails were tasty and reasonably priced. Overall, I recommend CholaNad and would return.
chennai bars: Recommended dishes Chicken ChettinadMore
purnima gupta: Food was so bland with no salt and no taste. If we had my American son-in-law, you assumed that we go to Indian restaurants to eat cream.Food: 1/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Malav Mistry: Friendly staff and good ambience. They are understaff so expect delay. Food was good as well.
Navaneeth Narayanasamy: This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool. The staff is also really very friendly. I felt "Yummy Yummy in my Tummy" feeling while coming out. Food is pretty good and they have lot of varieties and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.Kid-friendliness: I went with my kids and my kids liked the restaurant. It was very clean and neat and workers were very friendlyParking: We didn't had any parking issue
Chip Gentry: CholaNad is amazing. There are all kinds of spices and flavors, and the preparation is excellent. The interior is very pleasant, parking in the back is easy, and our server Linda was top notch, so helpful, patient, fun and personal. We plan to be regulars at CholaNad.Vegetarian options: There are plenty of delicious vegetarian options!Parking: Be sure and park in the small lot behind CholaNad off West Rosemary Street.
Sri Gali: I visited this restaurant after a while. But lot seems to have changed. I see the restaurant is lot bigger now. I was visited bytwo dead roaches at the entrance. I can discount that since the restaurant opens at 11:30a and we were there at 12:30p so maybe staff didn't have time to clean it up. My folks were seated at a table, saw that was bit dusty. The waiter sounded very depressed and sad. Seems like he was forced to work there without pay ( ;-) There was only one person serving the entire crowd.I ordered vegetarian. The food was ok, but not the best as I thought would be. The food looked lifeless. Overall, not a great experience. It was lot better when I visited many years ago.
