First Impressions Academy: what do users think?
Rebecca Alam: My husband and I are both public school teachers, with 17 and 20 years experience respectively. After all we have seen and experienced, there was a long list of musts when considering private school for our children. First Impressions Academy checks every box and has exceeded our expectations. This will be our 6th year at FIA and every year we are blown away. The school provides a tight-knit, family feel. Small class sizes ensure that students' individual needs are met and all children get the attention they deserve. The staff is filled with quality, degreed and credentialed teachers who know the content and effective strategies for instruction. It is apparent that the staff loves and cares for the children. The leadership has been amazing since my first encounter, including calming my anxiety about my little one going to preschool. They have an open door policy and I've always felt comfortable talking to them. I am so glad we found FIA six years ago. It truly has been the best experience for our children! I know that no matter where the future may take us, my children have a strong foundation because of First Impressions Academy.
dennis kinlaw: Absolutely the worst place for developing your child socially and academically. My grandchild attended First Impression grades 1 through 4 before we pulled him out. Unqualified teachers, bad attitudes, teaching skills and curriculum are not suitable for your child’s growth and development. Better off in public schools or Christian school where staff and methods are more normal. Owner of school doesn’t take criticism constructively, instead she defends her staff right or wrong. 4 years at this school nearly ruined our GC. After home schooling, and enrolling our GC in a more appropriate atmosphere at a local Christian school, our GC is back to normal and enjoying life and school. Stay away from this school.
Troy: Wonderful school
Kirstyn Martin: Our kids have learned so much since being at FIA. The level of education they recieve there is outstanding and above other schools in the area. We love the small class sizes and personal feel! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and truly care about each student.
Anyeliz Perez: I am a proud parent to a wonderful student at this school and I couldn’t be happier. The staff is amazing and the environment for my daughter is welcoming. My daughter loves going to school and absolutely loves the STEM program. She loves that she can do actual experiments in science almost daily. I have read other reviews and I noticed one said that they make you sign a contract stating not to share bad reviews, THIS IS FALSE!!! They have a standard contract for payment, school uniform policy, attendance and discipline. If your looking for a school for your child to excel and learn, then this is the place for you. If you are the type of parent that has issues with having your children miss school then this school is not for you! They follow the state attendance policy and there are to many parents that get angry when their kids get more than 10 unexcused and the school has to legally take action. The school uniforms are Mandatory and have to be purchased from a specific company. This school is about having a structured school setting. This school is not for you if your not devoted to your child’s education and not planning to abide school policy. This school is for devoted parents dedicated to wanting the best education possible and being responsible enough to take their kids to school like they are supposed to.
Katie Terry: Best place for our children. Highly recommend!
Jennifer Quinones: First Impression Academy doesn't feel like a school, it feels like a family. My 6th grader is thriving in middle school the STEM program is one you will not find anywhere in this town or surrounding cities. The hands-on projects, real-world experiences, and level of academics is second-to-none. We completed in regional Science Olympiad and our small school is going to state. I can't count the number of times we were asked; "What school are you guys from!"The children are so close and have created a culture amongst themselves of support, encouragement, love, and respect. Our kids are different, and everyone who encounters them can see it. FIA is committed to character building, self-reliance, respect, and accountability. I trust my teachers; I trust our staff, they will leave no stone unturned. I know my child is important to them and when in school I know, she is in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. First Impressions Academy is truly Fayetteville's little GEM; we are so blessed to be here.
honest review: Very dishonest about the quality of education offered as well as the favoritism.
Kim Nagowski: We have been a FIA family for 4 years. As an educator I know the importance of meeting the needs of all children and that is an area that FIA excels in. If your child needs to be challenged they are and if your child needs extra help, they provide it. The teachers are able to teach the students using creativity since they are not just teaching to a test. The students do take standardized tests from grade 3 on and do well above average because of good teaching at the level of the students. The class sizes are very small, usually 10-12. These small classes allow for the individualized instruction when needed. My daughter loves FIA and even asks to be taken back after appointments. It's now summer and she misses her friends and school. We are excited about the new middle school with a STEM focus (Science Technology Engineering and Math)!
Peter Robinson: The staff at First Impressions Academy is really great with communication. They are always available, attentive, and responsive whenever we have questions about our kids or their progress in school. I recommend FIA highly to our friends and family.
Julianne Ottersbach: This school is phenomenal. We moved here from the public school system and DODea schools, and have never looked back. The class sizes allow for hands on teaching. The intimacy of the environment makes for endless support among the kids--they really build each other up and encourage one another. My children have found a second home at FIA where they have grown into comfortable and confident students. I could not recommend it enough. Five stars is too few.
Mike Reiley: I love their small class sizes and hands on style. Teachers are every caring, comfortable and create a good learning environment.
Christina Holly: Two of my children attend the First Impressions Academy and it is great. The schools academic curriculum is thorough and excellent.
Kali Cain: My two boys are at FIA and they LOVE it! Best curriculum and teachers I have seen. The small family atmosphere is wonderful and my children are so excited to go to school everyday. So happy we found FIA!!!
T Gaskins: for the full review please see YELP the emails are found there.I am including the email exchange with this review. This email exchange is what prompted me to even write the review. The tone, the dismissiveness, the lack of professionalism, the fact that a spot mysteriously opens up once I complain and ask for a refund is all suspect. I want people to see for themselves the kind of administration that runs this school BEFORE you think of enrolling your child. Here's the thing no matter what I feel or complain about the administration should remain professional. The owner would have you believe this is about my child not getting a spot, but this is about a lack of professionalism. After scrambling and by the grace of God, we were able to enroll my daughter full time at another private school. The administration would have you think that this review is being posted from a place of maliciousness and truly it's not. It's not even about the refund. I asked for one they declined and that for me could have and would have been the end of it. However when I shared my disappointment with the process and the owner took it upon herself to dangle a spot that magically opened up (AFTER MY COMPLAINT) in front of me and then inferred that my child doesn't belong at her school BECAUSE she felt some type of way about my email and complaints...this is why I'm posting this review. It's beyond unprofessional, in fact it's down right insulting. We never got the chance to become a part of this school and honestly after this fiasco its for the best. I can only imagine how our concerns would have been addressed.Last let me add there are two people you will interact with Christy Pettit and Teresa Clayton, they make up the administration. You can just see by the email exchange who is professional and who isn't. In retrospect I even recall mentioning to my husband how cold the owner Christy Pettit was when we were introduced during our tour, but I chalked it up to possibly her having a bad day. The emails with her responding lets me know this is who she is. I understand this is their school and they are protective of it BUT there is also a need for professionalism. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend anyone dealing with this school. I was highly impressed upon first glance but knowing the kind of people who are in the administration office and how they operate...wouldn't recommend.

Northwood Temple Academy: what do users think?
Kydra Manuel: If I could give this school, negative 5 stars I would. They are just another racist school, that uses "Christianity" as a cover. This school kicked both of my children out and also my daughter was bullied by a teacher assistant at this school. If you are a person of color, specifically African American. I would tell you to stay away from this school. If you are quiet and subservient, they will tolerate you. However, the moment you raise a question or voice a concern. You will be treated as a troublemaker. This school thinks they are above the law. However, NO ONE, and I repeat, NO ONE is above the law. You will have to answer and give an account to the cruel treatment, you inflicted upon both of my children.
Leticia Sellers: NTA is the best private christian school in Fayetteville, NC. My review is based on both being a parent and employee. I have been here for 19 yrs and I thought I would only be working here until my daughter graduated, but this has become my family and I believe in the mission and ministry which is why I am still here. If you are looking for a school family to nurture your children and provide an excellent Christ centered education focused around excellence then Northwood Temple Academy is the place for you. Come by and see us today!
mirvete musliu: The best place to growth and flourish!
Rachel McLaurin: Mrs.Marsh was great. She’s such a great influence on all the students I’m sure we all love her. But, some of the views are slightly biased and it makes people especially of African-American descent uncomfortable but either way some of the admin are not it. I’d like to see them admit to faults in front of all the students, because I’ve never seen that . Pretty much all the teachers were alright, it’s admin that I have a problem with.
Sb6491 Nae: Read before you pay, sadly learned a hard life lesson. I lost out on $400 after changing my mind about my kids attending this school. Being that this is a church affiliated academy did not expect for them to take my hard earned money and not give it back. I’m writing this review to help other parents so you won’t end up in my situation.
Anthony Malantonio: The best school in the Fayetteville!
Lette Johnson: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GOD CENTERED SCHOOL. The staff is phenomenal and the school promotes respect, love, and having a relationship with CHRIST.
K Prince: Fake Christians. Teach the word of God, but the administration should do some soul searching.
Nora Bobonis: Excellent Christ-centered education.
Charles Lynch: Awesome facility. Great staff. Wonderful coaches.
ReNee McLamb: Love this place!
Michelle Williams: We decided to move our son here five years ago. It was ultimately the best decision we could ever make for our child. The level of education and love is like no other. Thanks to all the staff for their unending concern and well being for all these young people!
B. R.: My daughter is a high school student at NTA. A critical component of high school selection for us was college planning and preparation. We wanted to allow her the opportunity to excel in high school academics and programs, while focusing on being ready for the next chapter of her life. The high school department at NTA achieves excellent in college preparation. This year's graduating class has acceptances to the most competitive universities and many with great scholarship amounts! Campbell University awarded it's highest scholarship to a NTA senior, two military academy appointments, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Wilmington, UNC Asheville, Western Carolina, Methodist, University of Alabama and many many more. This information is available on the NTA website and facebook page. Those acceptances prove that the coursework and teacher involvement at NTA prepare the students to perform well academically and have all the characteristics that admission representatives are looking for in the highly competitive acceptance process. Test scores of NTA students far exceed to averages of Cumberland County students, North Carolina students, and students nationally. The potential cost of college for my daughter is something we are concerned about. That's why we feel like attendance at NTA is an investment. She will be ready to apply for colleges and the coursework will prepare her to receive scholarships. If you are looking for a high school program to prepare your child for college acceptance, NTA has the best programs! Their college acceptance rates and test scores do not lie. After looking at many private schools in town and comparing apples to apples in college preparation, there is no comparison to NTA.
Hailey Godwin: Love the school like how I love Chocolate and I loooooooooove Chocolate. Any ways I highly recomend this wonderful school.
Sarah Dietderich: Amazing school and church! Highly recommended

Alpha Academy: what do users think?
prodbyrxnny!: L School + L Staff + L Principal + L Superintendent + L Teachers + yb betterAlpha Academy
Amanda McLaughlin: This school is awful. They claim to care about your children and their education, yet they can’t even respond to the parent about simple things like homework. They are so disorganized and don’t know which way is up. They definitely don’t want the parents to be involved. They just expect you to drop them off and treat them like they are a babysitter. My son didn’t show up to school and they didn’t even call to make sure he was okay or why he wasn’t there. That is only a few of the problems I have had.
Djeneba Sombie: Great School nice teachers
sana futaba: bad little booth hat
Daisy Wagner: Terrible school most teachers there are extremely rude
Phoenix Stellar: I cannot put in words how astronomically disgusting and bad this school is. For my almost 3 years of being at this school it has completely ruined my life and my childhood I will never see my life the same ever again, to the bullying to rude staff this place should be shut down as it is a never ending bottomless pit of death. The teachers and staff do absolutely nothing when people are bullied, discriminated ex. The teachers are very impulsive and wrong minded individuals. It makes me think that they just hire anybody. The amount of racism in this school is very uncalled for but reporting many situations myself it never was bothered. All the student are very inappropriate and racist. Please DO NOT In role your child in this school if you don’t want them to be suicidal.
Dannie “Sway_Jazz.Sax” Mcdon: This place has an outstandingly disgusting staff/teachers. As a former students of alpha academy that has attended this school under a year ago,I find myself soaring higher in my academics in my current school. The teachers do not respect their students, and they don't listen to the child even though they have a valid point. When the parents get involved with the teacher, the teachers act like goody two shoes and blame everything that has went wrong in their classroom on the student. When the parents and Teachers have arguments, the teacher takes their anger out on the student while they are at school and the parents are not around to witness this type of verbal and metal abuse.
JD_Predator1998: My parents wanted to do what was best for me but all they did was help me open my eyes about what was one of the worst ideas they have ever made. This is the worst school out of every school I've been to, and the teachers are very rude and belligerent. You want what's best for your child, keep them away from "Alpha" Academy before you end up torturing their lives just like mine were.
Ressie Castro: Because they never find out what's wrong the students I had a granddaughter go here and she was expelled because of her behavior but there was reasonns for her behavior but they never asked her what's wrong 😑💔
bryan marzolf: My daughters first week of school her teacher called her slow for not having her sentences done fast enough. Her daycare teacher heard the whole thing. Mind you my daughter is 6 and is dealing with a heavy emotional burden for her age. I am pulling her out immediately and highly advise to never send your child here.
Poptropican: I went here for 6 years. But no one remembers me.- Ethan Crawford
Gregory Owens: Bad
Kayla Wigley: Incredible teachers, strong administration who supports the students/staff, challenging curriculum, and structured learning environment. The school is always clean and welcoming. We were there for a few months before moving and my son loved it! Communication is very well! I'm excited to follow Alpha from afar to see how they grow. This is far better than the public schools in Hoke county!
Skydriverlemon: This school is ok
Shavon Franklin: The learning environment is amazing, my daughter was a challenged and my other daughter improved a great deal when we selected this school. They are adding sports programs; however, I feel they can do a better job with their soccer team which seems a little unorganized. Also enrichment classes are scarce or nearly non existent. Art, Music, PE was not what I expected it to be. I was interested in the idea of a guitar and martial arts that was advertised when I first enrolled them, but haven't heard anything about it since. Otherwise, it's growing and I can't wait to see what more it has to offer, I will be patient with the process.
gloria ingram: It was terrible because my daughter had to struggle between the teacher switching schools. She struggle in science because she had 3 teacher befor the 2nd quater. And the principals were rude and disrespectful.
Kai Gobig: There is no buses and you get stuck in traffic jams on the 401 I think that I’m going to remove my child and go to another school you stay in that traffic jam for 30 minutes it’s not worth it I have been trying to get my child on the bus but I never gotten any information on how to do so I live like 3 minutes away but traffic is too much and instead that 3 minutes turns into 30-40 minutes not a good experience so far
Mocha Cariballo: Every parent wants what’s best for their child, education being at the top of the list. I against my own better judgment decided to enroll my children into Alpha Academy, what a horrendous mistake! From the beginning of the school Year until the very end I thought we had jumped in a tar pit and We found ourselves pressure cooking everyday. My children came from a school of qualified professional Educators where they maintained A/B averages. We’re in Stem Programs and a safe environment conducive to learning experiences. They loved school and were awarded perfect attendance and given achievement awards. At Alpha Academy they were exposed to unqualified caregivers holding teacher positions. You can say as long as a body was in the building it’s school as usual. My children’s homework was lost on a regular bases by these caregivers, affecting their report card grade then later found in a pile on the corner and Grade never changed. A lunch bag was in the middle of the floor, and it was kicked at my child by a teacher. I had to call several times and then made a visit to speak with the principal which used the so called resolving method of remediation. Talking things out led to a years worth of chaos and lies. there were never solutions, just patching up and brushing things under the rug, just to keep the parents under control. The school name is a disgrace, there is nothing Alpha about it. I have met with The Superintendant over numerous of times regarding bullying from students as well as teachers. I even had to go as far as contacting the board of directors. On one occasion I met with the Superintendant concerning my child not being allowed to go to the restroom during certain times of the month. I had to pay a special visit to the doctors office to get a dr.’s note to give Alpha Academy’s front office for her to be able to go to the restroom when necessary. My youngest child was sent outside without a coat in below freezing weather, and then when the teacher was questioned why, “ she says where she’s from kids go out all the time without coats”. Also there was an incident where a student told my child that she was going to be beaten up until she dies. Principal nor the superintendent did nothing. I met with them and again all they did was remediation and the bullying continued. It continued all the way until the end of the school year. I tried to give the school the benefit of the doubt. I should have gone with my better Judgement from the beginning. My children hated Alpha Academy everyday. Sometimes crying on the way to school. Many things are judged. I have removed my children from Alpha Academy never to return again. I encourage anyone that cares and wants the best educational experience , loving environment and respectful atmosphere to choose another school. I drop the mic.
XD MSP: Hello I’m going to this school this year I’m going to 7th grade and I wanted to know if this school is a good place and will help me learn ?
KHYONE or YONE: As An Past student at Alpha I believe That Treatment And Then the conflict Between Students And Teachers Are unexeseptable. It’s So bad To the point that it blocks Our learning Exsperience. I was An 7th Grader There And Will Never Go Back Again!
Gerome Q. Banks: Most of the year, the school has been ok. They have a rigorous academic standard, great sports program and plenty of extracurricular activities for the kiddos. But at the end of the year, something's not right. My sixth grader currently has an A in math, is a bright girl, but an end of grade math assessment has identified her for summer school. But it's not just her. All but four of her classmates have also been identified for summer school. Something doesn't pass the smell test. After expressing my concerns, the administration will not return my messages of concern.Update: After getting to speak with the staff, they informed me that the summer school was not mandatory and as long as my sixth grader met all the yearly requirements, she would advance to the next grade.

Massey Hill Classical High School: what do users think?
Agnes Gamble: I loved going to this school. I made all of my best friends and broke out of my shell so well that I overcame my depression. I will say this, according to Texas vs. Johnson the teacher WAS allowed to do that. In fact, the state did something illegal when they allowed him to be fired for doing something he was legally allowed to do. It was a civics class. He was probably teaching through action about that very same law, a law that he is required to teach the students. He was doing his job, in one of the only ways they'd remember. You've been in class. You've slept through it. And here's my question, what punishment did the video taper get? They were in class, phones weren't allowed, and school rules trump personal rights.
SSC: Kids seem to get along very well. Glad they got rid of flag stomping Frances. The other teachers are great.
Jon: Honestly, I love this school and recent events should have nothing to do with the rating. Mr. Francis should not have done what he did but it was only one person. The real disgraces are the people who reviewed the school with a one star and commented something stupid like " their teachers step on flags" or "the others teachers should be disgraced for being a part of this school". This exactly why people blew this out of proportion, they wanted attention. Now they got it, and look at these no lives bombing the reviews just because of one person"s action. You are actually more of a disgrace than him, messing up the review of an excellent school just to say ignorant stuff. The sad thing is that many people overreacted causing the news to jump in, and now we have idiots like this in the review section, screwing it up, despite not knowing the environment of it, and probably don't even live in the same state. Tired of you no lives.
Taylor Johnson: As a graduate of this high school, I was and am still proud of the teachers who challenge their students to think for themselves. Wonderful school, and wonderful teachers.
JXtheNetwork: i dont think people should talk about the flag unless they know what actually happened just sayin
Renee Grayson (Renee): Recent events have nothing to do with the quality of education at this school. If people think that the US Constitution is only meant for certain Americans and not for all Americans, than may I suggest you read the US Constitution several times over and get back to me. Although that teacher went about it in unorthodox way, his actions and the results of his actions have been a perfect lesson for people to learn from. It has definitely shown who knows the US Constitution and who doesn't.
Carolyn Rose-Grayson: As a student of Massey Hill Classical, I will always support my school and its staff. At Massey Hill we believe in furthering our knowledge on various topics and issues. Please take the following into consideration.
sydney rose: I love my school. I'm still a student and there is encouragement everywhere. This school encourages you to be yourself and to express yourself. We are one big, happy family
Julia: Ridiculous
Jesse Lesueur: anti american
Leilani Whisenant: A Disgrace!
Barnes Brooks: If faculty at this institution are so obtuse as to believe that it is acceptable to disrespect the symbol that represents the values to which this Nation aspires then they should not be in charge of molding our childrens impressionable minds.
Joel Doutrich: I hope the rest of the staff is ashamed to be a part of this school. Disgusting
D. B.: Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville, NC. The new history teacher there (Mr. Francis) asked students if they had a lighter (they said no, they aren't even allowed in school), then when there was no lighter he asked for scissors. When there were no scissors he took the flag and stomped all over it. He is saying this was teaching First Amendment rights. I called the Principal Dr. Adams and asked her why he couldn't have talked about it and not actually disrespect the flag like that and she completely stood up for him. Excuse me, THIS is part of their curriculum?!?! A few students left the classroom and one took the flag with them and asked that it properly taken care of. With the County getting so much funding for our military kids at this school, I ask the question of mutual respect, nothing less, nothing more. That flag might not mean anything to that teacher, but it means a lot to us and it means a lot to the family's who had their service member come home to them in a casket with that flagged draped over it. The principal told me I will not be allowed to know what happens with this teacher because my student was not in his classroom. I told her that she is in charge of her school, her teachers, and I should have the right to know what is going on in my child's school. I asked if she would be letting the superintendent in on this and she stated "No, this is an in house matter."Via Sarah Taylor
