Holly Point Campground State Recreation Area: what do users think?
Abbey Starks: Bathrooms are very well maintained even with rain and mud all around! Beautiful sites and lake views.Restrooms: Clean including roomy showers and flush toilets
Barbara Woodsome: I just love camping at Holly point. It is so nice clean bathrooms very clean. I keep going back every year.!!
Dawn Gogin: Awesome campground that we stay at every time we visit family. Large clean sites and beautiful lake.
Kevin McKenna: Nice quiet hide away. The o ly drawbacks are, no pump out at camp sites. 30 amp limit and tree coverage is 80-100%.Satellite reception is poor.It is quiet and beautiful
Dawn Ciaccio: Very nice campground! The sites are big and some are more private than alot of campgrounds. The grounds are very clean and no issues with the restrooms. We got in at 8pm so went straight to our site. Park Ranger came by the next morning, he was very nice, briefly went over the few rules and went in his way. Given 4 stars for a few things. You can hear constant highway traffic (loop 3. Not sure about the other areas). Not a big deal and no fault of the campground but sounds strange when being so far in the woods. There is NO WiFi. There is no camp store for firewood.
Elizabeth Coughlan: Best location at the park, the staff at the entrance station is particularly incredible.
Ron Viles: Wonderful park for camping. Entire park is clean and so are the restrooms. Park has lake access, so if your up for a swim go for it. Cant wait to come again after the closure in January for upgrades. Keep up the great work NC Park staff.Restrooms: Restrooms adequate and cleaned regularly. Cant wait to see them after the closure in Jan 2023.
Don Sweet: Great for what we needed it for, fishing, running, plenty of shade
Elliot G: Lots of space between sites. Sites are level and well equipped. Barh houses are clean and water is HOT. Beaches, fishing, boating access. Its pretty great.
Kevin Rumsey: Relaxing
Kaylee Aleshire: Great location, clean campsites. We stayed 2 nights in site 131. The site was a little oddly set up for a larger tent being that the table couldn't be moved and the fire pit was centered on the site but we made it work. We were fairly close to the restrooms but not too close. Many sites along the water. Very shade covered area. Bathhouse had 4 showers that were kept clean. We drove to the boat landing and swimming area, they seemed very clean and well cared for. Drove through the other loops in the campground which also seemed nice.
Lynn & Glenn Carroll (The Carrolls): So many great comments, hints and suggestions in previous reviews, but just add how helpful the park staff were in booking our recent stay. Our campsite and stay were perfect!First time we had seen double sites, and the handicapped sites were well thought out. Campground was clean and well maintained.A great intro. to NC Parks!🤠
Monica: Morning view. Beautiful place. Very clean.
jeremiah Bastian: I really enjoyed the place the atmosphere was more woods and less lake Aside from me catching a misdemeanor from my dog being a nuisance it was OKI would recommend it for the family probably in the Spring
T Barbee: Excellent, well maintained, campground for overnight and longer stays !!!
Chris Langenbrunner: Just one loop open. Great spots, well maintained and spaced far apart on this loop. This is our 2nd year at Hollypoint prior to Christmas. Site 103. Can see water. Be prepared for a bit of road noise and airport flyway. Also some sort of helicopter training treetop along lakeshore was interesting. Stayed 14 nights.
Teresa Wales: Beautiful park with lots of space between RV sites.
Vernon Terry: Super great
Chris Smith: We had an amazing night at this campground! Brought our pups and slept next to the lake. Facilities are well kept and maintained, there was some vehicle noise from a nearby road but really not bad later at night going to bed. Plenty of room for more than one vehicle or if you want group camping. There was a park ranger that would patrol every once in a while which gave us some peace of mind there was someone keeping an eye out. The grounds were well kept and they have a boat ramp that we may bring our boat next time to spend some time on the lake. Their website also offered a map of the grounds just in case you want something to look at online before you go to help pick out a spot. Overall we will be back!
Fran Boyd: Great campground and fantastic getaway.
Dale Francum: Nice campground if you get a good site. Definitely avoid 131 in Loop 4. There is a walking path, 25-30 feet, from the end of the gravel pad to site 117's parking space. Definitely an issue for privacy. Meanwhile the parking space for 131 is up a path, 100+ feet away

B.W. Wells Campground State Recreation Area: what do users think?
Mike Cobucci: 2 small loop hiking trails that are good for beginners or casual hikers, maybe decent for trail running workouts. Camp sites look nicely maintained. Very clean, access to the lake. Well marked.
Frank Johnston: Camp sites 6-7 are Premier!!!!!! Easy access. Great for Cub Scouts...all things Pack!
Kaine Beedenbender: Wonderful secluded family place to camp. We actually walked around during the week and no one around. Was really nice.
Oak Miller: easy access to campsites
Heather Jerman: At site 2 there is one outlet in the bathroom, but it does not work. Need some gravel placed to transition between the sidewalk and ground. It is too high of a drop-off for wheelchairs - dangerous.
Steven Dodge: Great camping facility!
Peter Pan: Well maintained group campsites, nice trails, clean washrooms with warm water shower, surprised to see automatic hot water shower which was actually not good as we wanted normal or cold water due to hot n sweaty temperature outside.
B GregJr: Great family/group campground. Very clean and there are plenty of facilities. We use BW Wells for our Cub Scout camp outs.

Rolling View State Recreation Area & Campground: what do users think?
Lee Bodenhamer: Clean sites, nice power and water.hookups, friendly staff.
Juliet Jasnosz: I loved it, it was so peaceful and beautiful. Best of all they honored military discount.
Tammy Fitzgerald: Wonderful stay at this campground! The sites are spacious and wooded. The bath house was very clean, and the staff was helpful and friendly. We stayed two nights and spent time in Durham and it was a close and easy drive. We will definitly be back to camp here again!Restrooms: Clean
Marsh Jones: Heavily wooded, nice sites with long drives. Our site had the picnic table and fire ring on a different level, which was a bit odd, but certainly usable. Very clean bathrooms just a short walk from all the sites. Definitely would stay there again!
Bobby Rod: Crowded, sus people, on the side of a highway, lots of police presence, and you don't know if the run off water is bad. I'll stick to the poolPlayground: Whatever. I don't have kids. To many people and cars to let them out of your sight.Picnic area: Crowded
Christy Colebank: I went to Rolling View with a group for a retreat. The Community House is set up well with a good kitchen, clean restrooms, and lots of chairs and tables. It has a large porch for outside activities, even in the rain. The view of the lake is a plus. It is far enough from the beach that it is not a problem except for parking, so arrive early.
Warren McTaggart: Love it!!!
Foti JP Fotiu: Great place for families relaxation.
Shane Devitt: Great beach!
Jacqueline Martel: Nice place
Erich Dix: Rented shelter 13 for a birthday party. The shelter was great and clean with working power outlets and everything well maintained. The swim area was wonderful and very child friendly. Fantastic day at falls lake.
Jeannie Hiebert: My complaint doesn’t regard the park which looked great from the entrance when we arrived. Too bad the camping area turned out to be completely closed due to construction. Yes we could have called, but really, might be nice to manage your google listing.
Juliette Perry: Community building at Rolling View State Park.
Patrick: Took the kids and kayaks to Rolling View. Most days no entrance fee, found nice launch area by Shelter 15, lots of wildlife, early in the day saw group of geese at Swim Beach
galinanc: Great place for swimming and just relax
Alan Fitzgerald: I was visiting Rollingview State park this past weekend on July 4th and want to voice a concern over a issue that occurred. On the first night at our site an unmarked white truck appeared at our site indicating people had deep voices and there were too many people at the site. (But then said you are not loud though). This was a very confusing complaint by the ranger! All the persons at the campsite had paid sites for the entire weekend. After inquiring later, it was a park ranger who did not identify himself. It could have been anyone and feel he should've gotten out of his vehicle and identified himself and better explaining his issues. I would hate to think it was because of the color of our skin that made him make an invalid complaint. We all pay taxes and should be able to utilize this park within the rules.
B true: Excellent
Mags NC: Nice and clean! Only passing through but definitely plan to return for a longer visit. The staff we spoke to were nice and friendly, helpful. From what we could see the area was beautiful and well kept.
Glynda Johnson: Our absolute favorite place to camp
Kurt Hollenbeck: Very nice campground with large sites and very clean. There is no septic but water and electricity is available. The lake is beautiful, nice swimming beach and a few trails. Highly recommended.
Alice Campbell: Nice camp sites

JaVon Wardrett: We loved the lake and beach. Plenty of parking and beach area. Just beware of the pontoons and jet ski people. They were coming up to the beach until the park ranges made them move. Was kinda dangerous with all the children in the water. But overall, we had a great time each day we went. Tents are allowed and there's plenty of space to bbq using theirs or your own grill!. People were very respectful for the most park also.
Kiki: LOVE LOVE LOVE Sandling Beach! Shade under the trees during hot summer days!

William Woodard: Beautiful views and clean excellent place to take family

B.W. Wells Group Campsites 1-5: what do users think?
Michael Berry: The sites were well cared for and there was space for many tents.
Ben Holladay: Group sites are well maintained. Clean bathrooms and warm showers!
Kaine Beedenbender: Awesome little hideaway of a place.
Angie Brandt: Great group camp sites and fun for the whole family... Dogs included!
Lance Odvody: A great spot for Scout outings, BW Wells has the amenities that make family camping fun and is mostly out of the RDU flight path. Sites 4 and 5 are a solid 300 yard hike in, so pack well. Site 5, while the farthest, has the best views and shoreline fishing access. Bathrooms have flush toilets, showers, and outlets for charging your phone.
Sydney Miller: Excellent group campsite
Matthew Heller: For hike-in group camping, these sites are wonderful. Large spaces under a canopy of very old, tall trees where the tree trunks are quite far apart. Near enough to the shores of Falls Lake that you can hike down there for beautiful views.Nicely maintained gravel roads allow wheeling in your gear and firewood. Plenty of picnic tables. Perfect fire pits for groups, with sturdy benches all around. Multiple tall, sturdy hooks for lights or garbage.Just make sure this is the style of camping you're going for. You must be up for the job!
willing Forgiveness: Awesome place to go camping. Affordable and fun. Will definitely make sure to go back
Jonathan Casals (Jonathan): Great camp site

Sandling Beach State Recreation Area: what do users think?
Billy Anderson: Tucked away in quietness this place is the best for a short getaway. Atmosphere is serene and just the right amount of people there to enjoy and not feel crowded. Pack your own picnic lunch, there are no vendors. Went in the summer but will enjoy it more in the fall with all the colors the trees will have.
Kelli Scoggins: So nice and clean. This area is awesome for small trips to the lake. My family had a blast here. Clean bathrooms and nice little play area for kiddos. Took my Pitbull and he loved it also. He even got to swimPlayground: NiceRestrooms: CleanDog-friendliness: I took my pitbull and he loved it also. They can go in the water in certain areas also.Picnic area: Need more although there are several tables and grill areas
Susana Lujan Bascha: Don’t go here (at least not in the weekends), way too many people, way too many children, and the water look very dark the whole thing looked nasty, and mosquitoes were not a joke.It was my first time there, and I am definitely not going back.
Lily Rivera: Ideal for a nice day
Mista Picasso: It’s was cool need more plants water is not clean aaaaaaaaat aaalllllll
K Brie: Very Nice beach, close little getaway if you don’t want to travel far for a beach experience. Clean Bathrooms and it was spacious.
Chanchal: Beautiful clean beach. I visited in the evening on a weekend, was a bit busy. Despite of crowd it was private. There are life jackets available for adults and kids. This park has wonderful beach area, shower area, restrooms, playground, picnic areas and plenty of parking (entry $7 per car). It has trails, benches. We dint spend much time but we felt really good and fresh on the beach. It was relaxing.
Patrick: Sandling will be CLOSING on last day of September! Only 2 weeks left so if you want to hit the beach, time is running out!
cassidy osgood: One of my favorite places to go!! Today I was able to get some great pictures since there were only a couple of people there (it’s currently after Labor Day on a Thursday). I like to take my chair out into the water and relax.
Wayne McCloskey: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! My family and I had a blast!!! So beautiful!! Definitely going back next year!!!
Mirta Rivera: El mejor lugar para compartir con la familia y los niños .
T A: Clean restroom and beach area tons of picnic area
K B: Great beach! Daily fee of $7/car is a very affordable rate. There are children's life jackets available to borrow (please hang back up when finished!). No lifeguard, so watch your children, please. Swimming area is identified by yellow barricade. There are picnic areas plus playgrounds. Bathrooms available, but didn't stay long enough to warrant use. Went midweek before lunchtime and by afternoon it was busier, but still enjoyable. I'd imagine this place is full on the weekend.
Karthik Swamiappan: Nice place with lake, small beach and lots of picnic area tables.
Edgar Espinoza: Perfect place to have a cookout and events. One small issue with the park is that they started turning away some of my Family members after we invited them to our cookout at the recreation area (the area where the cabins and the picnic areas are, NOT the swimming area.). This has completely ruined my father's birthday event, as most of the family were turned away. The staff could have directed them towards the picnic area where we were, so this was unexpected but unacceptable. One of my uncle's even said they had a worker near they entrance waving his arms to signal that they were at "max capacity". The area where we are at in this park only has between 4-6 cars. I was going to give this location a single star, but I shall give them three due to the memories I have of this place
Christy Meeks: Very relaxing...and convenient....my kids and I enjoyed ourselves
Isaac Lawrence: Love taking my family here! Even though it’s packed Evey time we always find a spot to settle down on and enjoy the view. Park rangers are always present and pleasant and bathrooms are generally clean! Got a chance to take my 9 month old for the first time 😊 he loved it!
Moniquesierra N.: Clean, beautiful view, serene aura, and perfectly private despite the fact it is a public beach. 3
Nathan H: Went to the farm up the road, but helped some lady looking for it get directions.
Cyndi Ludwig: A really cute beach like feel without the long drive to Wilmington! Super clean and fun.
Henry Richardson (RichHenry): Nice and relaxing

Jordan Lake State Recreation Area: what do users think?
Carlos Bonilla: It would have taken a 5 star review, if it was not for a situation we encountered on our second night there. Around midnight on Saturday (Sunday June 2, 2023), the campers in the campsite before ours began to argue loudly, screaming and using profane language. My daughter, a minor who has special needs and could not sleep, shouted "please shut up", to be answered by foul language. We contacted the park rangers and explained that their argument had become physical, also there had been statements of a knife or the threat of stabbing. 45 minutes later, rangers showed up, as the altercation had come to an end. Aside from this, we enjoyed the park and lake, my kids love the place and we will continue to go, but do recommend as an expert in the safety/security/enforcement field, to have a better response time for volatile situations as this, as this could have turned into a life threatening situation, without the involvement of other campers, not the rangers.Restrooms: Bathhouse and restroom area was clean, although some doors did not close, but it is always great to have the availability to use restrooms and showers at a camping site.
Gil Fdz: Excellent place to relax yourself and being in touch with nature very clean and beautifulPicnic area: They need to watch the grills because some people leave trash and charcoal remains... they grills are so dirty and greasy
B Bell: Depending on the day get there early if you want a spot on the lakes beach. You can always jump in on a game of volleyball
Kevin McKenna: Beautiful camping.B40 my favorite
Jenn :3: I went canoeing with my family around this area. It was very nice scenery.
Adrian Rodriguez: Shaded and cool area for picnics. Acces to the swimming area is easy. Restrooms, changing area and rinse area are available. The entry fee is 7 dollars per vehicle
Ivona bg: Favorite place to chillout 💙
alex llorente: Great Place to hang out during Holidays
Joyce Chavez: A day trip to one of the best swimming spots in North Carolina.Restrooms: CleanPicnic area: Very clean
Mohana N: Restrooms: Very bad
Edgar Nolasco: Love being able to rent boats , lake is huuuge and water quality for swimming is excellent.
Darrell Claiborne: It is beautiful up here.
Bill Hawkins: Great camp sites. Very spacious. Water and electricity were above sufficient.
Savanna Freeman: Beautiful campground, lots of water to enjoy. Clean and inviting. The only complaint I have is the bathrooms and showers being separate.
Linsay Harris: Restrooms: Need clean bugs more often
Lance Nuckolls: Perfect.
Molly Finkelstein: This place was lovely. I had a great time
Rodney Gunn: We're excited to release our Inflatable Party Pavilion! Be the first in the #triad #alamancecounty #burlington to host the backyard party of the season! Accepting bookings NOW!
Garry Isbell: Beautiful place with great camping spots. Caught lots of fish. Had a great time.Restrooms: Clean and showers work great
