Elizabeth Soncrant: This is one of our favorite restaurants in the triangle area! Staff makes you feel like a neighbor! Food is gourmet comfort food and always so fresh! Drinks are yummy especially the Key Lime Martini. Desserts are a GENEROUS portion and so yummy- Boston Cream Cake is one of our favs and the Biscoff Cookie cake was delicious this last time! Atmosphere is so quaint and fun whether on a date or hanging out with friends!

Deanna: We brought our family and spent approximately $240 for our dinner. We needed 15 seats near each other. There was one table that had a couple of dirty plates on it, but the table was clean, so my daughter moved them to the next table to seat our children and was then going to hand them to the waitress. The waitress asked if there was a tip beside the plates and my daughter told her no. The waitress then had the nerve to say under her breath, "There better not have been". She assumed wrongly that she could not be heard and insinuated my daughter stole her tip. So instead of apologizing, she apparently thought it was a better idea to argue with my daughter about it. Needless to say, it upset my daughter even further. We are not the type of people to automatically scream RACISM, but truly, we feel like this was the case as the young lady was being discriminatory against us. She then took it upon herself to go to each employee she could find to plead her case and she did it in front of other patrons, seemingly trying her best to embarrass our family. The manager did not appear to have reprimanded her and we had to demand a different waitress, who might I add, did receive a hefty tip when we were finished dining. When we were leaving, my daughter asked the manager for the district managers phone number. She tried her best not to give it to us, as she felt she had handled our problem well, which she did not. Needless to say, that's the last time we will ever go back.

Cynthia T: I am Dominican and was excited to see a place finally selling Dominican cake. For those who know and have had DR cakes you know its hard to come by authentic Dominican cake because its definitely a labor of love but when done right its one of the most delicious desserts you'll taste. So I ordered not just the cake but an array of food over $100 worth. I was unfortunately disappointed. There was american cheese... on my cuban sandwich! My "bistec" sandwich had ham on it and again some kraft singles slices. The chicken stew was dry, no flavor. My "chicken croquetas" were more like chicken nuggets. Everything lacked flavor and was a far cry from authentic. The "Dominican cake" was soggy and also bland.

Jen Nay: Ummmm…. This is definitely not authentic Dominican Food or Cake. I’m Dominican and just moved here from Miami. I was excited to see that there was a “Dominican” Cafe near me. I decided to give them a chance and wow all I can say is I’m disappointed. The chimi had no real flavor and it seemed like someone threw several packets of salt on it and called it a day. The empanadas were dry and held no real flavor. The quipes were underwhelming and lacked the usual seasoning you would find in Caribbean food. I was hoping the slices of cake I purchased would save the day but dang, it was completely soggy and not at all packing the flavors they promised. Dominican cake is suppose to be moist, not watery. We purchased 3 different slices of cake and none of them were good. If you’re truly from the island or have at least eaten in DR, don’t bother trying this spot cause this ain’t it.

Eric Rinehardt: I’ve driven past this place dozens of times and had no idea they served hot food until I saw a sign outside their door advertising jerk chicken, empanadas, stew beef, etc. I decided to go in and ordered the stew beef with red beans, rice, and plantains. It was amazing, and the portions are massive. I have a big appetite and couldn’t finish the whole thing. Prices are very fair at around $10 for everything. I don’t always love plantains, but theirs are delicious. The red beans are great too. The place is modest, unassuming, and a bit of a “hole in the wall” (I mean that in the best possible way because hole in the wall restaurants are the most authentic and amazing, which this place definitely is). Highly recommended!

Dean Sucklal: What a hidden gem! The food and bakery products are amazingly delicious and authentic. I stumbled upon this place last week. I was going to go to Smithfield, but I wanted more of a home-cooked meal. Which I definitely got here. They're a small establishment, so the menu is not that extensive. They have a lunch menu, a dinner menu and an assortment of cakes and pastries. Sweet potato pie is so good.... make you want to smack your mama!! Definitely a treat for the soul and worth a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th..... trip over there. Go treat yourself!!! Don't forget that sweet potato pie!!!

Got that with a side of roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts which were delicious. I read a comment where someone said their brussel sprouts were not good, but these were delicious. Did a mix drink which was fantastic and had a slice of the kentucky bourbon pecan pie which I would go back to the restaurant for the pie alone but everything was wonderful. Definitely plan on going back! And if you get Edward as your waiter you are totally set!

Amanda Deal: Aria was our first server. The second server we had after our dinner out was different. The first time was wonderful. We had seating at one of the long tables near the hotel entrance. We had prompt and friendly service. Drink were great. The second time that day later in the evening, they were extremely busy and we were barely able to order. I asked one of the male servers to place a drink order and I didn’t see her again. We asked for some extra chairs and they wouldn’t allow us to take any others as a large party had taken from the table we were at.

I tend to stick with what I love, so the Almond Amaretto Cake is a staple for my family. When I want to be adventurous, I pick a cupcake to try! You can't go wrong with entrusting them with your special day or milestones throughout the year!

crate home living products: This place has beautiful cakes but their customer service is lacking. I ordered four cakes from them for my kids birthdays over a period of a month, I did it all through email so there would be written documentation of pricing and details well in advance. They changed the price on me several times without details to the cakes changing. It seems as if they get a few extra bucks out of people where they can because they know people won’t question a few bucks over it. The first set of cakes in May were around 225 for 3 cakes, and the second cake in June was 200. I paid a deposit of $225 as 50% was due, assuming they would apply half to the June cakes and the rest to the May cakes so I would owe a solid 100 on both at pickup. On pickup of the May cakes, they stated I owed closer to 120, in which I asked if the 125 could be applied so I could only pay 100 and then owe 100 also at the next pickup. They refused to do this. If I’m paying more than half which is what’s required for deposit, I should get the say in where the extra I paid gets applied. Paying this left a balance of 86 dollars for the cake in June. I confirmed that ok, if I pay this much now - that will leave me only owing 86 for the June cake. I had emails with documentation showing what was owed and what was paid. Prior to pickup of the June cake I paid the entire remaining balance online and emailed them letting them know, to make pickup quicker as it was already rushed to pickup in time for the party that afternoon. They emailed back saying that I would still owe 3 dollars. When I asked where the extra $3 came from, they couldn’t give me an answer. Upon pickup, the younger woman was extremely rude about the 3 dollar balance (that I didn’t owe to begin with, emails of total balance would prove that). I didn’t question it and just paid.Also, they messed up my sons smash cakes and wouldn’t own up to it. I asked for different shades of green polka dots and borders to be added. The color scheme was green. After picking up, I realized the borders were white. Which was already strange being that the cake was white, why put borders that can’t even be seen being that they’re the same color of the cake? I went back and checked my email and verified where I asked for green borders, and in the checklist response - she confirmed different shades of green polka dots and borders to match the color theme. I called and pointed this out, in which she denied it stating it doesn’t specify the color - when you can look through the email and see where I specifically asked for green. They didn’t offer to have me come back in and fix them, or to discount off the next cake. Being that I was spending almost 500 on 4 cakes, if they weren’t willing to fix their mistake (or at least own up to it and apologize), they could have added a few bucks for the 200 I was spending the following month on a large cake to feed 40 people. Unless you specify every detail, they’ll also leave everything extremely plain. My sons 8 inch cake was supposed to be a dinosaur theme, and although it did have candied rocks, the entire rest of the cake was completely plain white. Being that it went up $100 dollars for that little bit of decoration, they could have done better. Not overly pleased with this place. I feel like we could have gotten better decorated cakes from Walmart for much cheaper.

The flavors sound amazing, but my husband and I have gotten 4 cupcakes on 8 of their BOGO tuesdays within a year's time - the inconsistency in quality and flavor has been the only cobsisten thing here. The cakes are either dense and stale, or undercooked and flat. The frosting is typically also dried out, grainy, and too sweet - which surprises me because I will watch sugar cubes for fun, but not these cupcakes.The new, younger staff is also so rude and a few times I've asked questions, and they seemed annoyed, and I asked about ingredients and pricing, and they say something, I ask again, and they backtrack with no apology and almost accusatory. Real sad experience.

I love surprising people with cookies made for them and anytime I've asked they haven't just delivered but exceeded expectations! Oh, and I must mention they have the best macaroons I've ever had in my life, I almost don't want to tell the world because they sell out fast already, but try it and trust me.
