Sara J. Lovell: Clients needed to purchase a sectional on a quick turnaround. Sectional was delivered but the parts that join the actual sofa together were installed incorrectly. Management from the village district store would not return my call and the sales associate from the Glenwood store was the single least friendly retail clerk I’ve ever spoken with. Hands down! Now my clients are disappointed in the entire operation and I’m trying to find some sort of positive resolution with ZERO communication from Bassett. rest assured, I will never work with Bassett again, and will share this experience with anyone searching for a sofa or sectional in the future.

Robin Mehera: It was a warm Saturday afternoon. We were looking for a shelf for the nursery, and went into this spot.They make all their items in India I believe, so some custom designs. Their pricing is decent, a bit pricey but not as bad as most high end furniture stores.We have gotten a living room storage piece from there and it has held up well.One thing to know is all sales are final, so no returns or exchanges. You better know you want it.
MJ Worldwide: Cute furniture shop. Minimal frills. Sourcing from around the world. Some pieces are more sturdy and have more design features, some pieces are a bit flimsy and could be thrifted at a better price. Worth a look but I didn’t find anything that stood out to me. I might come back to buy a house warming gift.

Alison Wood: Avoid this place if the furniture isn’t in stock and has to be ordered. You will never get it!!! This place was recommended by a friend. I had never heard of Furniture Market Wearhouse. But, decided to check it out due to the recommendation. I found some furniture I liked and I purchased bedroom furniture in May 2021. 2 nightstands and a dresser. I was told it would take up to 4 months for delivery. September came and passed (4 months). No furniture. I contacted them via email. They told me they would speak with the manufacturer and get back with me. I contacted them again (as they never got back with me) Still no response. By now it’s the end of November 2021 and they won’t respond to me. Due to the shortage of furniture and Christmas coming up, I give them some more time to get me my furniture. We get to January 2022. And, no one will respond to me and update me on what is going on. I had to threaten them with legal action to get a response!! They still didn’t know when the furniture would arrive!! So, I asked for a refund. They finally refunded me my money in March 2022. Almost 1 YEAR since I placed my order. Furniture Market Wearhouse really disappointed me. Their customer service is terrible! I will never go there again!

Zach Markel: Originally bought a bedroom suite in November 2020. It was delivered February 2021. (I understand shortages, Covid,Blah blah). The dressers that were delivered were damaged. One drawer was broken, multiple brackets were broken as well. Chips in the paint everywhere! The delivery people were nice and filed a claim. We were told multiple times that our new furniture was on its way. Here we are February 2022, still no furniture. Each time we call we get a complete BS excuse. At this point we just want a refund, but customer service is completely incompetent. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE! Total waste of money.

Susan Madenspacher: I read about their current sale on Facebook, and as we had decided to purchase a new couch, we went to check them out. Although the store was difficult to find, and not well marked outside, we did finally make it, after calling for better directions. The warehouse is large, and well organized into sections - couches, bedrooms, dining room, etc. No hard sell here, they greet you and direct you to the area you want, and kindly answer any questions. It's not a fancy showroom, ie: Lazy Boy or Rooms to Go, but they had a pretty good selection of sofas, and with a little haggling on the price, we came home with the one we wanted. They do not deliver, but have business cards for someone who will. They did help us load up unto our pickup, which we appreciated. Give them a try. Hint: the warehouse is not visible from the road, but if you can find Burger King, they're in the strip mall located behind them.

First, we purchase the sectional from them early October last year and received them around mid December. We understand that it was because of Covid, things could be slow but we never heard back from them when would we get the sectional. No confirmation, not email, phone call, nothing. We had to figure out and reach out to them.When we received the sectional, we paid extra for them to put together and found out that the sectional was flimsy, not aligned well. We had to reach out to them and we got the replacement, this one is better but it last about 8 months.Right now, the middle part is broken. We are very disappointed with the purchase. We are average couples, 130 lbs woman and 150 lbs man. It should not break this beam under for sitting in the reading room. Especially, my husband usually sits on the lounge side and I will be on the other end reading. One day, when we put the shrine up on our wall and sit to look at the way we heard the crack. and I looked under the sofa to see where the sound come from, and here in the picture, the wooden part is poking out. if you have to reach to get something under the seat, you hand can be ripped scratch.It is very upsetting. If it is couple years old, I understand but 8 months. This is not good. I contact them, the customer service reached back to me then I did not hear back from them again since two weeks ago. I cannot send any message via there FB page, and resend the emails but never hear back.I would recommend not to buy the furniture here. I hate for people to get what we have been through. I recommend to read other reviews before making decision.

Samantha Crippin: We had to wait much longer for our furniture than originally promised. We went there based on a recommendation from a local FB group. We stressed to the salesperson that we only wanted pieces in stock. However, once we paid we were informed that the dining room table was not in stock until the following week. That week turned into 6 weeks of frequent, unanswered and unreturned calls. Finally all the pieces we paid for arrived. I never should have paid in full.

Beth Moody: If you want furniture don’t buy from this place. I made an in store purchase on October 2nd. All pieces were supposedly in stock. We went back on October 3rd to pick up the items that were paid in full for and the ottoman was on back order. We were told it would arrive on December 2nd. That didn’t happen so we were told it would arrive on January 15th. That didn’t happen. Then I was told March, well it’s April and I still don’t have it. No one is willing to help. They will not give a refund and the owner has still not returned my call. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
Emily Vebrosky Nolan: Poor quality & poor customer service - We purchased a sectional here in November. It was very delayed with little response when we asked about its estimated arrival. While assembling the couch, we had to cut through the duster fabric in multiple areas to attach the legs and we also had to dig into the frame of the couch with a knife to find the threading the put the legs in. It was tedious and unnecessary. Initially we were pleased. The couch is comfortable and very aesthetically appealing. After 1/5 months, the cushions are pilling and there are two rips in the fabric. I've contacted about if there was any warranty and I was informed there is no warranty. The person I was in contact with asked me to send pictures of the rips and they would see if they "could do anything." It's been over 2 weeks and I've sent multiple follow up emails and have heard nothing. A 1.5 month old couch should not have rips in it and it would be nice to have options of solutions. I highly regret buying this sectional now.
a lynn: Drove from Rocky Mount based on a facebook ad. The store is junky and only about half the store has furniture. Salesman was rude, no public restroom for shoppers to use (who just drove almost an hour to get here). Waste of time.

Mrs. Shannon: They are the politest most helpful non pushy place to shop comfortably. I found my piece of furniture after looking for 2 years to match my bedroom set. This place even went beyond my expectations and gave me a few handles so I wouldn’t have to worry and could have a complete bedroom set for years to come.
Avery Cox: Went in originally when I first moved to Raleigh and went to a bunch of furniture stores looking around. People were rude and were “too busy” with other customers to help not to mention prices were overpriced. Went into this store and immediately got helped by one of the sales associates and went head over heels for me showing me all kinds of options in a wide range of prices. He had helped out a lot. I was ready to purchase but just didn’t have anything with me at the time to take the furniture home. Chamaria Wilson: Bought furniture from them and was told there was a few in stock at the warehouse. I originally had it set up for delivery on July 19th. I had to push the delivery date back a week to July 25th because my closing was pushed back. Called to get a new delivery date the week before and all of a sudden the furniture set was damaged and they would not get a new shipment until August 12th. Got a delivery date set up for August 17th. Called August 15th to confirm, got told yes it was still coming. A few hours later I get a call saying the furniture was still not there and could possibly come by August 17. No word from them. I call August 17 morning to see what the status is. They tell me they’ll call me back. I went through my entire work shift without a call back, so I call and get told they won’t be delivering it until next week. A huge inconvenience as I am having a house warming this weekend and now nobody has anything to sit on. These people just lie and don’t even apologize for the inconvenience they cause. Will update when my furniture actually gets here.

Meribeth: I brought my grandmother’s mid-century modern hutch to be lacquered at Steins. It was 50 years old and in perfect condition. When they were through with it, the doors no longer hung straight and even. The owner came to my home to see it and started banging on the doors with a rubber mallet. In doing so, he chipped the paint. He told me that they would send me a repair kit and that I would have to repair the chipped paint myself. I never received the kit. He kind of shrugged off the crooked doors like, “Oh, well”. I’m so disappointed at the job they did and the terrible customer service.

Unfortunately, the freight company did not carefully ship my item and Sharon immediately took photos for me to file a damage claim with the Freight Company, as well as immediately began fixing my damaged headboard. I could not ask for better service! Sharon has been phenomenal and I can't wait to see my finished headboard! I am not one to leave reviews, but I feel compelled to do so after my disastrous experience with Stein’s Furniture and Lacquer Studio.In early November I brought in chairs to be lacquered in a high gloss finish. After nearly 3 months I stopped by the store to see what the delay was. I was told that they would be finished “soon”. After another 2 weeks I again called to follow up and was told that the chairs were finished. When I went in to pick them up I was shocked at the sloppy and unprofessional work. The paint was blotchy and dull in some parts, shiny in others, and the paint had an overall “orange peel” look. I had asked for a high gloss finish. The fabric on chairs, which I was assured would be removed was still on the chairs!. When I pointed this out to Sharon the owner, she agreed to fix the problem. I took her on her word, and dropped off fabric for her to give to her upholsterer who was to pick up the chairs when finished. Two and a half months later I received a call from the upholsterer informing me that the chairs could not be upholstered as they were not fully painted and had white under primer showing through on all of the edges. The upholsterer could not cover the parts that were not painted because Sharon DID NOT REMOVE the initial fabric as promised, and just painted around the fabric! All of the edges had white primer showing through and blotched paint! When I spoke to Sharon I told her that after close to 7 month of waiting that this work was unacceptable - both to me and her upholsterer as well. She told me I was “picky” and took no responsibility for her unprofessional behavior and horrendous work! She also said that I was supposed to remove the fabric - a bold faced lie!!! If that were true, she should not have accepted the chairs upholstered in the first place! And should have told me as I visited the studio several times asking when my chairs would be done!! In classic Narcissistic style she denied any accountability, lied, and put all the blame on me and the upholsterer! To ad insult to injury, she double charged me without my permission, which last time I checked is called theft. Thankfully pictures don’t lie!

Wayside Furniture House: what do users think?
Kassey Hargett: One of the few places in the area with high quality furniture. The atmosphere was nice and the sales people weren’t pushy. Delivery would have been affordable if we had needed it. We had been shopping for nightstands all day and were about to give up until we found Wayside. We purchased on our first visit and would definitely give them return business.

C. C. Windham: This was my first time in a NC furniture showroom store. The store had some nice high-end pieces, but I was never given the opportunity to peruse through the showroom floor. I was met by an eager salesperson that gave me no room to look around and take in everything and allow me to visualize. This experience could have turned out very positive, but ended being a waste of my time.I explained to the salesperson (first) I wanted a bed for a guest bedroom and she informed me she did not want to sell a bed apart from its set. As she went through her sale pitch, I lost the excitement of this experience. I felt rushed, so I never got into the other items I wanted to purchase. After the sale woman referred me to Heaverns Furniture in Raleigh to consider buying a discontinued bed, the excitement in this visit was completely lost! I had been pushed to the "wayside".The salesperson was either mean nor rude, she just failed to take the time to listen and let me enjoy the experience.

Kristen Kiernan: Check the age of the instore item before you purchase.The staff was very friendly and the store had a lot of options. Unfortunately the couch we looked at in the store was apparently three years old (found out when I went back after delivery) so the new couch cushions was A LOT more puffy and overwhelms the space a bit.
nancy manner: Ethan Allen has not lost its touch over the years. The quality and workmanship of the furniture remains stellar with many options in styles of furniture pieces & wonderful fabrics, many of which are updated to be performance fabrics. I have several pieces of their furniture that are over 20 years old and are in excellent condition with fabrics that are still wearing well. The staff is 'the best of the best". They are always pleasant, helpful and easy to work with and truly experienced professionals who excel at their jobs and customer service.

Bassett Furniture: what do users think?
Madeleine Rowley: Just bought and customized a couch and ottoman through Ken at this Bassett location. HIGHLY recommend. It was a wonderful experience. Ken was knowledgable and very helpful in picking out a sectional and ottoman that worked best for us. He helped pull leather and pillow ideas and was just overall very nice to work with. Added bonus that it wasn't an all-day thing. We were in, we found something we loved, got it done, and we were out. The store itself is also very pretty. 10/10 recommend. Thanks, Ken!
Debbie Harkin: I’m only wishing now I had paid attention to the low rating. We moved into our new house earlier this year and bought a complete bedroom set from this store. We were excitedly awaiting the delivery today after waiting 6 weeks. The set was missing one bedside table, and the bedside table that was delivered is missing two legs! I called the store and my sales person was not there. The lady I spoke to was trying to be helpful but still can’t tell me when we’ll get the missing pieces. Not good customer service and the last time I’ll do business with this store.4/22 Update: I had to waste another Saturday waiting for the missing bedside table and legs. They delivered the table but did not have the legs that were missing from my previous delivery. This store is a joke. If you want service like this, just buy your furniture at IKEA.
Ben Clark: My furniture is fine. It’s not great but it’s fine. When I first arrived at Bassett, Suzanne was very friendly and accommodating. She sold me 2 leather recliners and a custom sofa. It took about 4 months for the furniture to arrive. The leather recliners are great, although i’m fairly certain i could have bought better chairs at a lower price elsewhere. The custom sofa is pilling a good bit after less than a year even though we got the sunbrella fabric. They expressly don’t cover this under warranty. The cushions are beginning to give out even though we got the high density upgrade. The worst part is probably the compartmentalization of everything in this company. You cannot buy new cushion casings from the store, that has to be done through customer service. You cannot contact that same customer service about a service request, that has to be a different customer service. This leads to a feeling where everyone is passing the buck on helping you. I expected to love this furniture. I’ve found that it’s just fine. And i hate the way the company handles business at this point and would never willingly buy anything from them again. I do think buying nice furniture is worth the cost, but i wouldn’t do it here again. If I could do it over again I would have gone to Haverty’s up the road.

Claire Anderson: Incompetent if you are ordering over the phone. Repeated the wood finish color multiple times and it was still wrong. Took over two months to get here even though it was pulled from the floor. Any time I tried to get an update the sales woman was rude.

Allison Lukanich: Great, quality furniture, TERRIBLE customer service. We first got Basset furniture back in 2016. Designed a headboard and got bedroom furniture. The sales associate we worked with was great, until we were billed much higher than the agreed upon price and it took MONTHS of calls back and forth to get it resolved. They also delivered one wrong piece and it took a few weeks to get the right one in.In the market for a new couch, we went back to Bassett against our judgment to do some shopping. We booked an appointment online and when we showed up, our sales associate was no where to be found. The one we were assigned made some rude assumptions about our budget without asking. Nonetheless we worked with her to design a great living room set. We talked over pricing and were satisfied with everything, and planned to place the order the next day. She emailed the invoice and sure enough, it was $600-700 higher than what she told us in store. So glad we didn't order in store, because we almost got duped again. No more Bassett furniture for us!
Ryan Bailey: Furniture is quality and you pay for it. Staff was nice and not pushy like some of the other chain furniture stores. Don't forget to account for delivery fees, could be another $200.

dflask: Bought a sofa and saved some money during a holiday sale which was nice. Had some minor issues. The sofa was delayed by an additional week, but was never communicated until I called to check the status. They did issue a small discount for the inconvenience after fighting. Also, when I went to attach the two pieces of the sofa together, the brackets where misaligned, which was disappointing. Bassett sent a dude out and put 8 more holes in the bottom of the sofa to mount the brackets in the correct position for attaching the sofa. I'll wait and see how the material and craftsmanship holds up over time, but overall i'm quite satisfied with the sofa and the people we worked with.

Carlos Ruano: My wife and I went to Basset today to look at sofas. We bought two chairs from Basset about a year ago, and came back to look at the Ellery sofa. We had liked it from our first visit, and were considering getting one in leather. After we were passed on by every sales person in the store, including Thomas who sold us the chairs, we decided to leave. Maybe we'll go back.Four stars because we like the product, but come on people ... don't judge a book by its cover. We had just come from walking our dog at William B. Umstead park, and I guess I didn't look like a typical Basset customer in my rolled blue jeans, Cabella's coat, and cap.
Tavi Sterling: Truly the worst customer service experience I’ve had. I drove from Wilmington to Raleigh to find a rug that would go with all the new Bassett furniture I bought for my new home. I was so excited to have found the perfect rug. I ordered it and told the sales girl, Mollie, that I would drive back to pick it up as I did not want to pay the $300 delivery fee or wait for the truck that only delivers to Wilmington every 6 weeks. By picking it up myself I could get the rug sooner. In just a few weeks the rug was in. Local friends of mine went to pick the rug up for me because I was told I would need muscle and they don’t help load any items delivered and picked up at the store. That Sunday I made an early morning drive to Raleigh to get the rug from my friends home. Something didn’t look right to me so I opened the rug to see the inside and to my surprise it was the wrong color. I then waited for the store to open so I could return it. Mollie was very apologetic and helped to reorder the correct rug. They said it would be a couple of weeks. I agreed to come back up to get the rug. However, it’s now been another month and the rug that was only going to take two weeks keeps being delayed. So I said please just put it on the delivery truck. But now the date has changed to a date I’m not available for medical reasons. I finally spoke with the manager who proceeded to tell me I was just an angry person and they would just refund my money back. I could hardly believe my ears. Here I’ve been patient and doing all the work to follow up on where my purchase is and his response is to tell me I’m angry and talk over me and now no rug that I’ve been waiting for. WOW! Just unbelievable. He did not bother to try to find any solution Gil Croy was rude and disrespectful. Hard to believe this is the person managing this store.

Diana Loera: bad quality fabric for very high price, first time cleaning as directed and noticed the fabric was not well tucked in, poor quality, excessive pilling, very disappointed.
Vestige Architectural: My wife purchased an expensive upholstered bed in a beige tone. They require about 1/3 $ down at sale and 2/3 right before delivery. The bed was shipped without any plastic cover and was strapped to the inside wall of the box truck. I looked in the truck and saw other people's sofas upside down on the truck floor. There was a black mark across the headboard from the strap and a large crushed imprint, and it even displaced the decorative rows of nail heads. I wrote "damaged" on the signature line and allowed the guys to leave it here while a new one was ordered. Bassett acknowledged the damage and agreed to replace but they asked us to send more photos even though I saw the photos that the delivery guys took. I called Bassett and asked them to credit the 2/3 cost back to the card while we waited another month and they refused. I had to call the credit card bank and dispute the charge. Later, when the replacement arrived, the guys were out of shoe covers and then they realized that there was no hardware included on the first or second delivery so it could not be assembled. They offered to come back in a few days with the special hardware but I told them to mail it and I would assemble it myself so they are not on my carpet again. The warehouse supervisor did not call us as promised, so we had to call them to make sure it was mailed out.
T Robinson: We were greeted at the door but wanted to view options. Were looking for a sofa and rug. We walked around and saw several employees standing around and literally ignored us. I guess they felt the sectional for 8k was something we couldn't afford. Well sir...we could afford it but would never spend that much for the sub par customer service we received. Went down the road and plan to purchase from the other store.
