Bryan Gibbons: Great convention. We attended the Yu-Gi-Oh! National Championship July 2023. Brilliantly cold air-conditioning when it was so hot outside. Rentable electronic scooters all around to travel quickly worked great. Free parking for our Sunday was a big bonus. Concessions were also great with no waits.

Brantley Murphy: Not a bad place (facility wise). No food options in the convention center when I have attended. You have to go a good distance on the streets to find very much of anything. Streets in the area can be a little sketchy most any time of day.
Stephen Spencer: I hosted an event here and the experience was amazing. They have a loading dock that is able to accommodate a large box truck and freight elevators that open up to the convention rooms. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. I would definitely book this venue again.

store Music: Was there one night and saw security kick a guy out by dumping him over the railing and into the trash, meanwhile staff laughed about it. Security also barged into the girls restroom because someone complained another woman was “taking too long” using the restroom, super uncomfortable. Lastly management is super unprofessional, has 22 year old bartenders messaging former employees being a petty sounding board for the company super professional. Blaire Bear: Do NOT go here on karaoke night or EVER! We arrived at 9 and signed up for a song as it was my friends last night in the US and karaoke with us was one last thing she needed to check off her list. Another girl walked up in front us when were called and stole the slot we signed up for when it was finally called (2+ hours later). When we tried to explain the situation one of the guys at the stage (blond longish hair, black tank-top, and tattoos) started to scream at us and talk over us without listening repeating what was not relevant. Managed to hold off tears until I got home but I had only wanted to explain what happened he could of just politely said he couldn't help us. Instead he tried to escalate the whole thing for no reason! My friends boyfriend walked up to just see what was going on and the guy immediately changed his behavior being nicer to us (barely) but while trying to square up with him for no reason. We had to claim he wasn't with us to get the dude to stop. Even if he has had issues in the past to make him cautious with guys it was uncalled for. Honestly, the way he was acting he seemed like he wanted to start a fight. Hopefully, this was just an off night for the guy but it was truly horrible, unprofessional, and dangerous staff behavior. This the first time in all my years that I have ever had an issue at a bar. I will NEVER go here again and I STRONGLY discourage anyone else to go here.

We had the loaded fries for an appetizer and they were amazing. My husband got the mac and cheese with the short rib & succotash. He said it was very flavorful and the bacon gave the mac and cheese the perfect heartiness and added crunch. I ordered the mac and cheese, pulled pork and brussel sprouts. Heaven on a plate! It was the perfect meal for a cooler night and paired great with the cocktail I was drinking.The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is perfectly cooked and thought-out. And the drinks are unique and perfectly balanced. Christine Steffes: Love, love, LOVE The Oak. Not to be confused with The Oak Steakhouse which is also delicious. The Oak off of Lake Boone Trail is an experience in and of itself. The food is always excellent quality, served hot and fresh and full of flavor. It's not hard to get a reservation and totally worth it. Their brunch is as good as their regular menu items and I've yet to try something I don't like. Their Birria tacos and Mac and cheese and each bursting with flavor and definitely worth a try. I cannot recommend this place enough and I haven't even mentioned the bourbon!! Bar tenders are super knowledgeable and drinks are always on point. Don't walk run to get your reservation to this place.
Jeff Miller: My friends love this place and I have eaten here several times over the years but I give it a solid 3.2. Food is elevated bar fare that leaves you with a greasy finish. It tastes good but I would use better quality fat or lower the fat content. The atmosphere is quite nice inside and out, so it makes for a nice place to chill out and have some drinks. Bourbon selection is good but nothing special (NC ABC) except for September when they break out their saved specials. The bartender gave some good recommendations to a whiskey collector. Service has good people with bad policies. We arrived to eat before 5pm with an empty restaurant. We had to stand and wait since they would not seat us until a couple that was lagging behind arrived. We were seated outside in the heat with plastic blocking any breeze vs inside due to upcoming reservations, but when we left the restaurant, the restaurant was still very vacant inside and out. We finally noticed a fan and asked them to turn it on. Of course there were other outside seats that had a breeze vs the plastic and were empty the whole time. If you are going to pass yourself off as a high end restaurant / bourbon bar then at least learn how to treat them. I've had issues with something almost every time I have come with service (missing orders, waiting forever for service or check, etc.).
