Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen: what do users think?
Andy G: I've been a Lucky 32 customer since the 1990s. My date & I decided to dine at L32 in Cary & afterwards watch the July 4th fireworks. Everything, & I mean everything, at the Cary Lucky 32 was either bad or mediocre. I began with the Strawberry Mule with double vodka. It was served in a small 5-oz rocks glass with a lot of ice ($17.50).Next, Fried Green Tomatoes, heavily battered, deep fried, & served with a clashing sweet sauce. Neither of us could taste the deeply-hidden green tomato slices. Neither my date nor I liked it, but ate some of it because we were hungry. We were seated beside a very noisy 6-top; everyone at the table laughed & talked loudly enough to be heard throughout the place. We asked & were moved about 30' away, still wasn't far enough but we lived with it.Entrees: I got the crab cakes ($29) with green beans & grits. The crab cakes & beans were served stone cold. My date got the black bean cakes, barely warm & were flavorless compared to what I'd previously had over the years. I sent the crab cakes back, didn't re-order because my date & I would've been dining separately, and by that time, I was disgusted & ready for our L32 experience to end.A manager came out & inquired of the problem. I explained, so she took the crab cakes off the bill and offered a comp dessert (Mix Berry Rhubarb Crumble) to go.When I got home, I found the comp dessert was uncooked & disassembled in 3 different containers; unwritten on the menu was that ice cream was included. Faced with melted ice cream, figuring out how to assemble & bake it myself, all of it went in the trash.I put myself through college waiting tables at 3 high-end restaurants. Every restaurant trained that it's ALWAYS a waiter's responsibility to pick up the cooked food immediately & deliver it still hot--a big fail. I left ~ an undeserved 17% tip to the very sweet waitress. I will never dine there again. It's really gone downhill over the years, in every way.
Brooke Rawls: It was great and accommodating for my mil 80th bday. We used to go here about every other week for about 10yrs. Haven't been back since COVID-19 the menu is smaller and the fried chicken had no flavor but they comped it for us.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Cornmeal Crusted Catfish, Fried Green Tomatoes …More
Simeon Snow: Probably the best restaurant we've been to all year and we've been to a lot so far. Service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. Food was incredibly diverse and fresh. Lots of different flavor pallets to choose from. The cornbread and biscuits were full, flavorful, and fluffy. My breakfast plate (Southern Delight) was great temperature, flavor, seasoning, and texture. Ambiance was semi formal yet incredibly comfortable. Music volume was just right for giving privacy without impeding on conversation (I don't know why this balance is so hard for places these days). Parm truffle fries were amazing. My spouse loved their avocado toast. Great experience all around.
Kevin Seitz: Haven't been back to Lucky32 in a few years and decided to go for our anniversary. The waiter we started with just disappeared, and then the food came out. The chicken wasn't even cooked all the way through. I showed the second waiter who came by and so he took it back and the manager brought back the new one. She asked, is this one done to your liking and wanted me to cut it and take a bite. I wanted to say, yes this one is cooked. No sorry or apology or anything. She just disappeared like the waiter. The second waiter never came back until I stopped him. Bummed that it changed or maybe the service changed. Fried green zucchini was amazing. The only consistent thing.
John Hall: Food was outstanding.

Cathy Martin: I am disappointed since food is always good. On Sunday, I ordered the black bean cakes w side salad and Arnold palmer tea. The black bean cakes and green beans were overcooked. Our lovely waitress did put on order ticket that I did not want the sides it comes with (grits, corn, and sour cream), however the cook staff ignored that. The 6 Oz glass of ice w tea for $3 is ridiculous. Eating out has become overpriced. Sorry to say Lucky 32 has been a staple in Cary but I won't be going anymore.

Gwendela “Gwen” McCorkle: What happened to the hours you used to be open. You are literally only open 5 to 8:30 on most days? How do you make enough to even stay open? Your food is great, so is the wait staff, but your hours are very restrictive. Hope the hours get better in the near future, so everyone can enjoy the restaurant.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Trish milord: After reading the reviews we were excited to check it out. However, we didn’t receive the same vibe as many had spoken about. The service was absolutely poor. The gentleman that served us looked like a family member of the owner. I could be wrong. But the other servers had to pick up all his faults. He gave us our drinks including soda with no ice. Not to mention he never asked us for what we wanted to drink. Just a minute before our food came out he just gave us 3 waters mind you there was 4 of us. After our meal came out my husband had to ask him for a drink. Not cool. We let him know from the beginning that I had sesame seed allergy so he said that he would bring us bread without it. Instead he brought us the one with seeds anyways after waiting almost 15 minutes. Then I reminded him no seeds and he went back and told them. We ordered hummus and they brought that out right away but what were we supposed to eat with it? He left and didn’t even say a word to us. Just rude! We were just sitting there waiting until we realized that the owner sitting there doing his bookkeeping didn’t care. He was gone and now the other two wait staff were left to pick up his work. They had no idea what was going on but they gracefully took care of us. Which this shouldn’t have happened. I do also want to point out that the waiter took on 2 other tables and we watched him take care of them before he left. Their drinks had ice and they even got refills but we didn’t. Just disappointingWe got our meal and it wasn’t bad but definitely had better.I think after reading so many great reviews I was hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, it only took a waiter to ruin it.If they are family and they are working they should still treat customers with kindness, respect and dignity. Because if they were outside hired employees they wouldn’t tolerate it.As much as I hate to say it but I believe race and culture played a big factor here.

Preston Absher: We came in on Father's day and had an excellent meal. All of the food was great. Our mixed appetizer was excellent, the bread was very good, and all of our food was delicious and well done. I really liked Turkish tea as well. However our server seemed stretched thin. We saw him about every 30 minutes. Our tea was refilled by another server. We never got the silverware and extra bread we asked for. Definitely will be back. Just expect it to take some time.
Mary M: I was concerned when it was mostly empty when we walked in at 6, but by the time we left it was packed. My friends and I chose to share several appetizers and a pizza. We were impressed with the number of vegetarian options. Everything we got was delicious and packed with flavor (the stuffed grape leaves were so good they didn't even make it into the pictures 🤣). Even the complimentary bread and oil is worth noting! All in all- fantastic experience and im excited to come back!

Elizabeth Walker: Enjoyed a very good lunch at Bosphorus in May 2023. I love Turkish food and they do not disappoint. It was my 2nd time to dine there when visiting family in Morrisville NC. Suggest a reservation if you have 4 or more. We were 7. Portions are plentiful.. I do suggest if you order the profiteroles for dessert have your waitperson explain it to you first..it’s like a very dense rich chocolate pudding with the puff pastry.

Rod H: Late lunch on a Friday... still pretty busy, so the service was slower. The food was very good. Especially liked their fresh pide. Portions were generous.Parking: The lot is shared with a number of other businesses. Might have to park 50 yards from the door, but that's not a problem. The parking lot is pretty flat, so it is quite manageable for wheelchairs, etc.

Brittany Pleasant: Amazing food, service, and people! And AMAZING rehearsal dinner location!A true hidden gem at the intersection of Ten Ten & Kildaire Farm Rd. Our family has been going to this restaurant for years now! Whenever we're not sure what we want to eat, but we're in the mood for something good, we always choose the Chef's Palette. Their menu always has some seasonal items as well as their most popular favorites. And do yourself a favor for an appetizer and get the Brie Bites! When we were looking for a place to host our wedding rehearsal dinner we contacted about 10 restaurants, including Chef's Palette. We were so pleased with the response times and the knowledge of hosting an event like this one so we booked with them nearly a year out! They kept good communication throughout the year and our rehearsal dinner was perfect! Everyone raved about the food and drinks! We're so glad we were able to share a place that we have loved for years with our out of town guests! We will continue to support this great restaurant, business and owners for years to come. We love everything about Chef's Palette!

Sherry Hill: I love this place. Been going for years. The last time, however, I went, I told them I was there for dinner and was taken to the bar area. My daughter and I were there for a nice dinner so I don't know why we were taken there. I asked to be moved to the dining area and was accommodated, but I'll be honest, it was a litlle offputting, especially to my daughter because she had never been there before. However, once seated, dinner was outstanding. We started with the brie bites. They were absolutely delicious. Our waiter was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. It's definitely a hidden gem.
Scott Crawford: Don't be fooled by the unassuming location of this hidden local gem. We've lived a few miles away for years and saw it in passing all the time, but never thought to check it out. Well, some of our friends recommended it to us, so now I'm passing on that good recommendation (and also quietly kicking myself for not trying it sooner!!).First of all, the entire staff is very welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere is chill (love the chicken paintings and the music was excellent). Second, but really first, the FOOD!!! Holy cats, everything we had was absolutely delicious! The brie bites were out of this world, with 3 different saucing choices, they're like an elevated, light mozzarella stick, but SO much better! My wife had the pan-seared flounder and it literally meted on your mouth! I had the steak fries and the strip was cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy and delicious. Everything was so good, we pushed the envelope and got the key lime pie for dessert. Holy moly, it was a substantial slice and tasted absolutely heavenly. It was a great place to take my boo for an impromptu dinner date (I made the reservation online earlier in the day and it was super easy). We enjoyed the whole experience, our server David was awesome, and we will DEFINITELY be going back!10/10, totally recommend!

Bill Sinko: Disappointing experience! We are new to Cary and decided to try Tazza Kitchen in Stone Creek. My wife and I went there last week on a Tuesday evening around 8 PM. There were literally only 5-6 tables with people yet the service was so so slow. Our waitress Sarah did greet us very quickly, yet it took another 15 minutes to just order drinks as she was busy chatting with other employees and cleaning tables all around us, never once did she check with us, we had to tell her we were ready. Once our food arrived, we asked for another plate so that we could share. The person we asked ended up being the manager Kate. Ten or fifteen minutes went buy and I had to get up and ask our waitress for the additional plate. The manager Kate was the one that brought it over to us. When she arrived she said that she was helping another customer yet I saw her sitting the entire time. When I confronted her with this she was so rude and repeated that she was helping another customer. Why lie to a customer, why not just tell us that she forgot. Based on this experience we will never go there and will certainly advise others the same.

G S: A delicious hipster/cosmopolitan restaurant without the crazy price tag or too much pretension. Clean, open layout, with friendly staff. The food was excellent; though the menu does lean a little more towards hipster fare. That said, they seemed very accommodating to alteration requests either by preference or allergy requirements.Probably not a go-to pick for families bringing children or extremely picky eaters, but for a couple adults looking for a relaxing night out or a place to sit down with drinks inside or out-doors, this was excellent.Parking: Plenty of parking in/around the area.Wheelchair accessibility: All one floor with no stairs.Dietary restrictions: Staff seemed ready and willing to adjust for dietary restrictions or allergies, including asking un-prompted for any alteration requests if they were due to allergy reasons.

I rang to see if they could get us in straightaway. Randi stated the dining room was full. So I began my search to find somewhere to eat.Moments later Randi rang back to explain they now had a table and they were setting it for our party of seven and they were looking forward to us dining with them.It was a great experience and I very much appreciate the extra effort.

Chelsea S.: I used to come here all the time when it was called The Veranda. I do really like the new dining room atmosphere better after the remodel, but they got rid of my favorite brunch dish! I used to come here solely for the Creme Brulee French toast, but now they just have this "French toast brick", and it's just not the same and costs way more. I understand inflation and costs are rising everywhere, but don't fix something that wasn't broken. I don't understand how even using the word "brick" to describe French Toast is supposed to be an improvement. Any additions like bacon or eggs costs extra, which is the same as in the past, but now it's just more reason not to come with the price increases and menu changes. I was pretty disappointed and won't be returning anytime soon.

Julie A.: So underwhelmed by this meal and extremely surprised by the high reviews. The quail was dry and flavorless, egg rolls were chewy and bland, tuna just wasn’t good, the cornbread salad was just meh.Go elsewhere - ambiance can’t save you when the food is this bland.
Shinya A: We went here for a dinner date night since they had a good deal for restaurant week. We ordered the salad, onion soup, pork chop, and seared ahi tuna. The salad was delicious and the soup was very good. The pork chop was cooked and flavored well and it came with a risotto and kale. The ahi tuna was decent but it did have a fishy after taste which I thought shouldn't be there. But still it was good. The ahi tuna came with a white bean like side. Dessert was really unique and tasted great. It was cheese cake made into three walnut size balls that was accompanied by whipped cream, a caramelized banana, strawberries and blue berries. We sat outside and it was a very pleasant and nice dinner.

Karen Gonzalez: Mindful it is a bit more on the pricer side, however it gives dress up brunch vibes or nice fancy dinner. This location is going to be great when the downtown Cary park opensVegetarian options: I saw some really nice options for those that don't eat meat, meanie seems to change seasonallyDietary restrictions: They have great options for those that are gluten free
Jesse Willson: The waitstaff and atmosphere was amazing and the appetizer was decent, but our main course was bland undercooked. We got the lamb and tofu with the lamb being undercooked halfway through and the flan and potatoes having no seasoning. The tofu was poorly prepared with no seasoning and it was over cooked and ended up chewy. It was also paired with baked beans, zucchini, and a sweet ketchup sauce(?) which I decided to try and instantly regretted.Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian appetizers, but only one vegetarian entree and the rest was saladsParking: Parking is limited with street parking across from restaurant
Tonya Hicks: Had a Mother’s Day brunch here. Some of the staff was a little rude.. one older lady in particular.. they were nearing the time to close for lunch and she was rushing us along..but our waitress was decent. The food was okay. Acadia Rose-Meyer: Geek Girl Brunch had a great dinner at peck and plume! I wasn't a huge fan of the scallops, but the fish tacos and our other food was delicious! Our waitress worked really hard to accommodate our large party and their system was having issues so she ended up putting in all our orders by hand as a work around.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options

Barbara-Jo Thompson: Friends and family were visiting from out of town and I was so excited to share the experience and food of Scratch.Unfortunately, that did not occur. We waited for over 30 minutes and eventually had to eat someplace else.My friend arrived first and asked for a table. It was explained that they were waiting for a party of 18 and we would have a long wait. For clarity, we inquired if we could make a reservation. We were told we could not. Scratch does not take reservations. We asked if we could call ahead. They explains no, they can’t seat us until our entire party arrived. Our party of 7 (with disable seniors) stood for over 30 minutes. Yet they continued to hold tables for 18 who still had not arrived. The food at this place is fantastic. But they don’t take reservations. You can’t call head and you can’t ask a friend to arrive early to hold a table. If you have a group larger than 3-4 this isn’t the best place for you.

Of course the food was on point as in Scratch Kitchen fashion.Get the Crab Rangoon app before it's gone! Thanks for taking good care of us tonight and making our family gathering special!Wheelchair accessibility: Scooter access in and out was easy.
Jessica Jackson: It’s like Southern, Asian fusion twist on everything and it does not disappoint! Highly recommend the bowls and the jammin burger! Rachel Ip: We used to be a frequent customer. They have great cocktails and are kid friendly.Unfortunately, their food has gone down hill. The chicken tenderloins were burnt, I scraped off a plate full of char before giving it to my son. They topped the truffle fries with yellow and black cilantro. How as a chef you can serve that to a customer is beyond me. When mentioning that to the staff the response was, "It was cut this morning". She did offer to replace the fries but we waited long enough for the food that it wouldn't have been worth it. The final straw was shrimp tacos that smelt fishy. The shrimp was not fresh. The only thing still decent were the cocktails. Needless to say we will not be coming back any time soon.
Denise M: Oh dear lort...so yummy and fresh. Food is outstanding, and lots of to chose from and portions are too huge to finish. Nice little patio to sit and enjoy fresh air.Parking: There's some construction going on in back of restaurant (office building) so there were so.e workers taking spaces booo
Ron Onedertwin: Located in Cary Scratch kitchen has great hours and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu was very interesting with lots of options. I had brussel sprouts, egg rolls with pork, pork belly tacos, and pot stickers. The food was pretty good but didn't knock me off of my feet. The redemption is in that there are other options so it's hard to go wrong. I will definitely be back at Scratch Kitchen to continue sampling the menu.

Dawn Staniewicz: Went to lunch with 8 coworkers, and my entree didn't arrive. Waitress said there was a mix-up in the kitchen, and my food was given to another table, but it will be up momentarily. Waited 7-10 minutes more when the manager came over and said my order was dropped in the kitchen. Waited another 10 minutes, and my order finally arrived after all of my coworkers were done eating. :( I then asked the waitress if I could have a discount since I basically took 2 bites before we had to leave and go back to work. She had to ask the manager, who reluctantly took 4 dollars off a 17 chicken sandwich. My bill for a chicken sandwich, with a vegetable and an ice tea, was $21.Not worth it.
Jennifer: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Bacon Brussels SproutsMore
Cindy Gorken: We were really excited to eat here however it was a complete disappointment. We ordered 2 appetizers that we never received. The waiter explained that the sauce for the chicken lolli-pops had run out and he never brought the fried green tomato stacks. My husband had the Westminster Abbey burger that was okay. I had the Cast-Iron Chicken and it was not completely done-very pink on the leg section of the meat and the breast was still a little pink and underdone. My son had the fried chicken sandwich was was very difficult to eat because of the height of the sandwich. The waiter was nice but seemed distracted and when we got the bill there was a charge on it for the appetizer we never received. There was no wait at the time we got there. Unfortunately we will not be going back.

Michael W.: I was a reward member and once you reach an award they automatically issue it and put a 3 month expiration day on it. Never tell you about it till about 2 weeks before it expires. I have a special needs son and cannot go to a restaurant any night I wish. I asked them to extend the expiration date one month and they REFUSED. I told them to delete my rewards account and I will never eat at one of your restaurants again. NEVER AGAIN!!!

We ordered the seasonal veggies which we were told was green beans sauteed in a herb butter sauce.....we were brought broccoli. Both sides brought to my brother-in-law were not what he ordered. The fish in my Baja tacos was cooked too long (dry) and cold. The french fries were amazing! We had very poor service from our waitress. Unfortunately, don't recommend and will not return.

Ryan McGriff: Felt awkward dining as a party of one. Instead of being seated at a regular four top, one was broken down and a table kinda pulled off to the side to seat me. Not sure why this was the preferred option as there was ample seating at the time of my visit. Bread was plain; just basic white bread. And regular butter. No sort of Italian flavor going on. Would’ve been nice to at least have some seasoned olive oil to dip it in. No side salad with the meal, which just kind of feels like a staple of an Italian restaurant that was completely missing. Chicken parm was good, but the sauce was very watery; did not have adequate cling to the pasta. Pains me to say it, but Olive Garden is better…
Eileen Littel: We frequently go to a Enrigos for dinner so I decided to have my Dad‘s 90th birthday party. It could not have been better… The food was excellent. The service was first class, friendly and very attentive. We were 25 people and we felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I cannot say enough about the owners and their staff. Thank you for making this very special day a wonderful memory for all of us.Dietary restrictions: Food allergies were attended to
Myra Greene: Picked up Bolognese and Chicken Picatta to take to the Symphony last night and both dishes were a major disappointment. There was as barely any bolognese on the pasta and the flavor was bland. The Chicken Picatta was bland as well. Not sure what is going on. We have been there many times and the food has been, not great, but the atmosphere and service have made up for it.

Lance Kruse: Disorganized and Unprofessional. I am usually very understanding when it comes to interactions, but I was genuinely shocked by the staff. We first walked in to a very busy restaurant (to which we have never been) and were looking around unsure of where the host stand was only to found out it was behind us where the host was just standing there watching us look around. We were clearly unsure of where to go and she and never said hello or asked if we needed anything. This actually resulted in another couple coming in after us and putting their name down first because she just watched us... weird, right? She then said it would be a 30-45 minute wait for a party of 4, which we felt was reasonable, and gave our name and number. We decided to grab a drink at one of the bars at Waverly place and waited about 30 minutes to call to check in on the status. The person who answered sounded very annoyed that I was calling to check and she acted like she couldn't find our reservation even though I watched the host write it down myself. Then, she said "It will be another hour", which I found frustrating as it had already been 30 minutes and was being told it would now be twice as long as originally stated. I sought to clarify this and asked if there was a reason for the long delay (sometimes accidents happen or people call off and we understand that). To which she said "I don't know, it's based on when people decide to leave". Obviously. So, I said okay and to let us know when the table is ready. The other people we were with decided not to wait, so we went to another restaurant. About 15 minutes after I was told "another hour", the host calls back saying our table is ready. I asked for a moment to check with the party if we wanted to go back to the restaurant and they decided not to given the poor service they have provided that they would be unlikely to hold the table for us to drive back. I then told them "Actually, we have decided to go to another restaurant since you said it would be - " and she hung up. The host hung up on me. I literally cannot remember the last time someone hung up on me - maybe, middle school?I cannot state how shocked we were. One of the people in our party has been a loyal patron for years and we were treating him to his birthday. After this, even he said he won't be going back. The service here is utterly ridiculous. I understand things are busy and hectic, but apologizing for misjudging the wait time by twice as much would go a long way. Also, not hanging up on customers (which feels like shouldn't have to be stated) is also a good starting point. If she had just explained they were busier than expected (or really anything) and apologize for the longer wait, I wouldn't be upset. Also, when I said we went somewhere else, a simple "I understand, we are sorry for the long wait, we hope to see you another time" would result in us maybe trying again. But don't not accept reservations and then get an attitude when you can't do your job of estimating wait times and showing basic (even faux) courtesy when interacting with customers. With so many other great places with great service (e.g., Farina Neighborhood Italian) and many places that take reservations, don't bother with Enrigos. Unless you are in middle school, then you should give them a call and see how it goes.
Shawn Dunning: The bruschetta had a lot tomatoes and no cheese but was fine. I liked the ability to buy individual pieces. The chicken piccata was amazing, hence the 5 stars. The staff were very friendly and provided great service!
Miranda Liu: This rating would be five stars, but the atmosphere was pretty terrible. We were seated in a sunroom area. The floors were really dirty, the tables were all mismatched and falling apart, one of the tables they put together for our party the finish was coming off leaving rough particle board that was scratching up our arms. We had to ask for a table cloth 3 times to cover the table up.Service was acceptable for the most part. The host spent an extremely long time trying to seat the table ahead of us and it seems like they were short staffed. There was also one waiter that was extremely loud and was serving several of the tables around us. We would have to stop our conversation whenever they came into the room because we could not hear each other. Now for the good- The food was so delicious! We weren't sure what to expect based on the atmosphere but were pleasantly surprised. I hope this restaurant is able to improve the cleanliness and atmosphere as that would make it 5 stars easily!
Sachin Verma: The great sandwich ever I had and off course the desert, I loved it. They also have the pretty nice cakes with the reasonable price. Definitely I would recommend to go and try the variety of sandwiches they have. Also, the staff is friendly and they provide great services. Thank you for being out there to serve the delicious food.
