Whitney A: I needed a simple red velvet cake for a family members birthday celebrations and found Burney’s online. I went in person on a early Friday afternoon to place the order, the girl taking my order seem new because she didn’t seem to know what was going on when writing my order down. I was told to email my inspiration picture because the lady taking my order didn’t know how to describe it and I would say the decorations idea was simple. I emailed the picture, set pick up for Monday at noon, paid for the cake in advance, and left out. An hour goes by and I notice the email didn’t go through, so I called the store back and asked if they could verify they received my email but the lady that answered the phone said she didn’t have access to the email and the person would call me back. Well I never received a call back, until I gave them at 8am Monday morning to make sure they got the picture. On the phone call Monday morning a young lady informed me the person who controlled the email was still not in work but assured me my cake would be ready by noon. I go in at noon to pick up the cake and I was just baffled by the presentation. It was so sloppy and had icing missing from the bottom at the cake board but I had to accept the cake because I had to have it to the celebration 30 minutes later. Once I took it out the cake box you can see places were the icing was put on thick enough and could see the red velvet underneath and it was sliding off the cake board. We cut into the cake and taste like it had been frozen and smelled like cardboard. I feel like my cake was rushed and just slapped together.

We are celebrating National Laboratory Week at the hospital and I found an eight foot table covered in boxes of pastries from Burney's. I took a few and was amazed at how fresh and delicious they were. I am not sure if they come with a next day, freshness guarantee but I took a few again this morning and it felt as if it was fresh from the bakery. Great job! I hope to visit in person soon to see the entire selection.

We ordered a jumbo cupcake, and not only was it incredibly affordable, but it was also possibly the best cupcake I’ve had ever. Since then we’ve stopped in for small treats an I’ve never had anything that was not amazing. Absolutely recommend!

The cheesecake was really good. I like a little bit more tart but still VERY creamy and delicious. The cupcakes is where it gets dicey. The cake was moist and had a great taste. Great bite. Not too crumbly but still soft and fluffy. The icing however was a let down. I got a strawberry and a birthday cake. The birthday cake wasn't too bad but the icing on the strawberry cupcake tasted like straight oil. I felt like I was eating a strawberry flavored whipped olive oil. It was gross. I was confused bc the strawberry flavored came through but the oil was just too overpowering. Maybe just a fluke. But not a fan.

My personal favorite is the confetti but all the flavors are great. They have candles, cake decorations, cake-slicing/serving utensils, and a book to help with ordering for those big events. *knock on wood* I've never had to wait long when I've been here and the staff is always polite and helpful. If you haven't tried it yet you definitely should!

I was told that they have them ready in the store and I could just come there and order them and pick them up. Well after driving 40 mins to get there I was told that I could not customize my order that I had to do 6 pumpkin spice and 6 snickerdoodle. How dumb is that! The guy I spoke to on the phone should have told me that so that I wouldn't have wasted my time driving all the way there. I'm beyond annoyed with them!

Deon Covington: We used Sweet Boutique for out wedding back in October. The strawberry moscato is one of the best strawberry cakes that Ive tasted and still remains on of my favorites, unfortunately it is paired with some of the worst service that Ive had. When placing the order for the cake I explained that I wanted to incorporate the same live flowers from the wedding into the cake which was not a problem during the order process. A few days before I checked with my florist to confirm that the flowers would be there when the cake arrived. I checked back with Sweet Boutique and the associate told me that she didnt know about the flowers but she would check with the owner. I called back later to confirm and was told that it would not be a problem. I also called to confirm the time of arrival but they could not even give me an estimate, only that they would be there before the start of the wedding. When she arrived with the cake she was upset that I was not waiting on her and that she had to wait while I got someone to assist her. Also she refused to place the flowers on the cake, saying that the flowers were not prepared the way that she wanted them. Overall the cake tasted amazing, but the service was horrible.

I’m not sure if there are new owners/bakers or what but this year I ordered a baby shower cake for my son that cost over $200 but looked like something I could have gotten off the shelf at Walmart. I had to YouTube how to work with Fondant. I then went to Hobby Lobby and spent another $30 to make the cake look like it was worth at least $100. Shana Cameron: This bakery is fantastic! I have never had anything that I didn’t like. The desserts are moist and the selection is amazing. You need to go to here! I love them.

Lottifa Byro: Ordered a supposedly strawberry moscato cake it excessively dry and had no taste whatsoever of moscato. I paid $60 for that damn cake and I am DISSATISFIED❗️❗️ This was really a rip off I’ll never step foot back in here .

Lynette McMillan: I am disappointed in the cupcakes that were 4 bucks each. The cupcakes were dry and cold as if they were frozen. I let it sit out so it can be room temp but it was still a massive let down. I won't be back...that was 12 bucks wasted. I will stick with Small Cakes.

Michele Hood: Called me the day before to ask if they could add fondant to the cake due to the design I didnt want fondant but agreed to it. Went Friday evening to pick up my cake for a Saturday wedding. I was so upset the cake looked nothing like we talked about I asked for teal lilly's they said they made a change because it looked tacky you called me about the fondant but couldn't call about a huge change. I wanted lilly's due to it being the 1st flower my now husband ever gave me I was stuck with a cake I didnt like and all I could do was cry all the way home

Ashley S: I have been ordering a cake for the past 3 years for my birthday, this year was a bad experience. We have had an all whipped cake before, my husband ordered the same this year. They had put the sweet icing instead which we do not like, the chocolate cake was hard. My husband asked for it to be remade they argued that they could not do an all whipped cake which is not possible because the cakes before were all whipped. Once remade, the cake was all whipped but had some sweet icing mixed in and the cake was hard and dry like they just replaced the frosting. Something has changed maybe a new baker but we will not be returning. Very disappointing because the cakes were delicious.

Tawanna Wells: I live in California and my son is stationed in n.c in the army I called several bakeries out there because I wanted an oreo cake for my son's birthday, so Von at sweet boutique bakery helped me with my order and she even went out of her way to deliver the cake to my son. She genuinely took the time to make sure I was happy and she gave my son his cake. He took me that the cake was delicious. I'm so pleased with the outcome. I just want to thank Von for being so gracious and caring. You guys are simply amazing!!! Thank you so much for making my son have a fantastic start to his birthday!!!!😊😁👏
