Children's Home Society of North Carolina - Fayetteville Office: what do users think?
Inesha Trahan: Great place, workers with a heart to be social change agents for children!
Kimyotta McCray: They stole and sold my kids but your about family
Katrina Wilhelm (Trina): We were hopeful foster parents until we told them that we were thinking of doing domestic adoption as well as foster care. Once we sent our case worker that email we got completely ghosted. Caitlin would not answer our calls, she wouldn’t return our calls or the multiple emails we sent. It took me calling multiple times to reach Doris before we got any answers as to why there was no correspondence and I quote “you have to focus on the foster children” was her reasoning behind why they couldn’t work with us if we were going to do domestic adoption as well. How is this any different if we had biological children in our home or I was pregnant? This was so heart wrenching because my husband and I felt like we had to choose between two things that we felt God had called us to do. We’ve prayed fervently on what to do but what made us decided to walk away was how we were treated. I’ve called and called to try and reach Doris or Caitlin to get a copy off all of our information and the home study report as it contains personal information that we have a right to have and we are still being ghosted. I will not stop trying to find someone at this organization that will give us our information even if that means contacting the BBB. I had such high hopes for this organization as we had horrible experiences with Cumberland county DSS, the way we’ve been treated is completely uncalled for. This is why families don’t want to foster, if it’s not the broken system, it’s the people who are suppose to be there to help you that disappoint and don’t do their job. Please try Falcons children’s home or Kids Peace if you’re local to the Fayetteville NC area.UPDATED IN RESPONSE,I’d love to talk with someone directly but you have to actually answer the phone or return my messages. I’m guessing I am speaking with Doris which is who I spoke with when we were wondering why our calls and emails had gone unanswered and unreturned. That being said how can you have time to respond to my google review but not my voicemails because it’s “the holidays”? Furthermore, that is NOT what you said to me and you know that. You yourself didn’t even know if you were making sense (your words not mine) You said NOTHING about working with other agencies for “efficiency purposes” and lastly, not all agencies work that way, Falcons Children's home for one (we’ve been in touch with the director). My family and I deserved better than this. Your unprofessionalism and lack of communication has been etched in our hearts and we will NEVER come back to this agency and we WILL tell ANY other families that are thinking of pursuing foster care to seek another agency. You don’t treat people this way, shame on you! And I expect a specialist to call THIS week as stated in your response to ensure that our paperwork and personal information, TO INCLUDE the homes study are given to us otherwise I will contact the BBB.
Kathryn Follett: Wonderful organization
BossyUp Bossy: In process of Child Care LicenseCome here for CPR &First Aid training and more
Marybeth LeMaire: Our specialist is great and easy to work with!
Rochelle Davis: Does not help with post adoption.

Helping The Orphans Thrift Store: what do users think?
Purple Butterfly: Reasonable prices! Neat
Bran F.: We love this thrift store. Things are actually priced like a thrift store here, in comparison to places like Goodwill. Goodwill has a bad habit now of believing it’s Walmart, and thus you pay Walmart prices often. But Helping the Orphans Thrift Store actually has things for mere pennies and dimes. Bedspreads for $5, huge lots of dishes for $20, kids toys galore under $4, and clothes for nickels on the dime. They even have fill a bag for $5 sales. I’ll admit, the name of the store throws me off a bit. But I love their items and will be coming back a lot. Especially with two littles of my own who’ll definitely want some new stuff to play with and wear as they get bigger.
Rebecca Ludwig: Amazing staff. Clean store. Great selection and prices
Wayne: Very courteous and stayed late to let me shop and good prices
William Todd: Fantastic place, love the atmosphere.
NeKwan Perkins: I all find great items here and love supporting a worthy cause.
Denise Van Avery: Love this place. Great for women and children clothing
Kay M.: This is a great store.
josephine k: Nice place prices are little too high for a thrift store though
Joshua Gow: Decently priced items, but this location is difficult to park at, or get in and out of, there are no bathrooms as others have mentioned, and the selection is generally smaller than the other locations.
Sara Knight: Daisy is a very nice lady
Nathan “N8” Starling: Not bad, and its for a good cause .
Jeff Stallings: Clean, friendly
Christine Dechenne: Very helpful clean store so much to see prices are great
Brayden Green: Lots of cool stuff here
bobbi vandusen: Excellent customer service at 2 different locations. Great prices.
Orlando Melvin: Nice stuffs not really affordable thought.
Michael Perry: Great local thrifting for a good cause.
Leslie Cowell: I can’t believe how very nice the workers here are! Every time I go in there’s a sale on a different thing. Good variety of stuff but.. as a mother.. PLEASE stop stapling the price tag on baby clothes 😭 it tears them apart.
Zachary B Barber: Friendly
Tracey Borja: Bargain finds, friendly staff

Helping the Orphans Thrift Store: what do users think?
Shane Wilson: My wife has been going through stage 4 liver cancer and one of the days she's feeling good we decided to stop by the thrift store cause she hasn't been able to do anything for a year. As soon as we walk in the door one of the employees started loudly talking about the fact that she has no hair. Two customers join in and we finally have to tell them the situation and neither of them could've cared less! Thanks for ruining her day! POS!!I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS OVER PRICED HAND ME DOWN STORE!
Mary Cook: My husband found a desk , the right size for his room. And i found found some tea cups for crafting . There is alot to look at here. And employees are helpful and polite.
Norman S: I go to thrift stores all the time for fun, that was the nastiest one I've ever seen. The smell hits you walking in the door. Anyone who rated this five stars owns the place. Or was paid. The prices were very high and it stunk.
Sabrena Robinson: Lots of interesting things at good prices
Joanna Simpkins: Friendly staff, gently used items great prices. Savanah was very helpful helping me find clothes in my size.
Angel Reed Fābry: Very messy and junky. Intake shouldn’t just be sitting in the middle of the store. You don’t know what ppl put in those bags
Alexis Viera: Rude white man is always so disrespectful when I come here if he's working I just leave 😔
Tammy Snyder: Very rude staff my daughter and I were in there and my daughter had a double seater stroller for my infant grandson and my two-year-old granddaughter the Place is very overcrowded with stuff all over the place it's a bad fire hazard and the ladies that were there just laughed at my daughter. I will not return My daughter picked up 2 different items that were filthy
Erik “Popeye” Wagner: Friendly staff here. Free toys for tots. Easy layout for finding what you need or want.
Tawanda Peterson: The store is organized.
Shawnda Philpotts: It has lots of nice things and a friendly staff.
Susannah-Lee Wagner: Love love love these beautiful and friendly people. I shop here all the time. Great rotation of items and they always have something unique.
Joshua Gow: Excellent selection with a helpful and kind staff. Very reasonably priced.
Grace Conlin: TONS of great deals!!!!
bonni perry: Staff was very friendly, prices were responsible, store was orderly. Loved that they played christian music ..
Brian Tyler: This is a smaller, independent, non-profit thrift store. The only reason it didn't get the 5th star is simply because its inventory is a bit limited and dated (it doesn't turnover too quickly). However, I stop here frequently and almost always find, if not a treasure, a great price on something I can use. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful and 95% of the pricing is way below prices at the bigger thrift stores. It's worth checking out!
Pam Wise: Really nice thrift store, well organized.
lynn frazier: Pricey for a thrift store
Ronaii Walker: This place is very inexpensive. So many great items to choose from. Very neat and organized. Would definitely go back
Sonia Rivera: It was one of the most helpful delightful stories I've ever been to and the 2 ladies that work there are remarkable young ladies
Michael Perry: Great little thrift store with a good cause.

Adoption & Foster Care: what do users think?
Heidi Ortiz: I just called 2 minutes ago and the lady who picked up the phone hung up on me when i asked her a question about them fostering newborn kittens. Could’ve just informed whether or not they can accept kittens at the moment. But instead hung up on me without letting me finish my question. That’s not very welcoming nor professional.

KidsPeace Foster Care in Fayetteville, NC: what do users think?
Linda Stokes: I have been a foster parent with KidsPeace for over 5 years. I have found this agency to be very professional, Caring, and full of Love for Chrildren and their Foster Parents. If you have a heart for children and want to make a difference in a child's life I highly recommend this agency. You may begin as just a foster parent but you will become part of a family.
Sia Sia: Well the “ BOSS” I guess will show in your house UNANNOUNCED yes he will go discuss old foster care cases what a bummer!! Not professional rude , also the inspector will show with someone else without telling you so be careful very unprofessional
Rokeya Taylor: Very unprofessional and unorganized doesn't show the same concern for each family and staff can be very rude RESEARCH BEFORE CHOOSING personal opinions should not be the focus the children are and if one person dislikes you they will paint you as a bad apple when again the children in care are the focus not personal opinions you can give it your all and again they seem to careless it's about their feelings not performance which has absolutely nothing to do with the children leadership in this office is very bias
Teresa Lee: I went to volunteer today for the children's Christmas gala had a awesome time This is what I do show love to all children in need looking forward to helping out at next event the staff was awesome so proud to have partner up with you guys
Paula Campbell: I actually went to a bridal shower/Mary kay party. It was a blast!!
Vivian Baldwin: Going above and beyond to help their Foster Children
K Kelly: Kidspeace is an amazing agency that truly cares for their foster parents and the children placed in their care. Each family consultant takes the time to get to know their foster parent and makes sure that each child can reach their goals. If you want to become a foster parent i would recommend this agency.

Falcon Children's Home Inc: what do users think?
Brett Johnson: Safe , christian, loving staff.
Janie Massey: I grew up at Falcon Children’s Home from age of 6 to 12. I can’t say enough great things about the price.
Michael Corkery: I came here to see a Pro Wrestling show. It was fun. No big names, but everyone has a good time.
Kris Kirk: There is a place in Falcon, NC where children can be placed so that they can be taken care of while their guardians are working through the rough things that are going on in their lives. That place is Falcon Children's Home.
Brian Wray: Great place for the Kids and World Class Woodworking shop for the Kids to learn in.
Devon Bradley: They provide a well needed service from caring people
Dominic Stewart: I currently live at Falcon and I agree with everyone on the good and bad. This is a place that for some people is better than previous placement but besides that, the houseparents seem to think they control everything and when wrong will write you up for it. This place would be perfect if houseparent corruption stopped.
IAm Zy: Staff Tiffany put her foot in my back during ( keep in mind she’s probably over 300lbs ) a fight and I got carpet burn because of that and there’s still a scar..and when I told her I could not breath she would not let up when I said I wanted to press charges the CEO said he wouldn’t let that happen and “did I know who he was” I took that as a threat and they kicked me out after MY FIRST FIGHT and had girl there that had gotten into multiple fight and they would not return my things (iPhone, pepper spray, and a WHOLE BAG OF CLOTHES) and I’ve called and emailed multiple times next step is court.
david flowers: Great People,Great Place for Youths to be loved
Patricia Blalock: It helps provide care to Children of ages ro include infants
Vee L: Enjoyed the drive thru Christmas lights. It was our first time but will go every year from now on!
Rodney McCray: Loving, caring, absolutely wonderful people.
JC Boykin (J.C.): Great organization very helpful a mb d nurturing to children and pregnant female and their newborns
Rachel Cooper: Falcon is a good place
J Kevin Burton: A "Lighthouse" for many of North Carolina's own kids, as well as students from surrounding states. A truly "special campus". As an employee of Falcon, I've witnessed first hand how this great agency can set students up for success, as they've gone on to UNC, the military, or other endeavors, and students were able to save toward their futures and work toward their own American Dream. During The Covid Pandemic it was so reassuring and refreshing to watch Our Leadership Team never flinch in following Our Great State's Orders and carry out a master plan to protect and put students at ease with clear communication, wise decisions and provisions. Moving our family here to lock arms with this amazing Team was one of the best decisions we have ever made. I love this place! I've heard from students voices how much of a difference FCH has made in their lives! Two Thumbs Up! Way Up!!!
gigi hudson: I used to live there and it was terrible...I never felt as if i mattered and the school was a joke...teachers were just giving out grades and not teaching anything
Tony Mayfield: Great game
Andrea L. Ray (China/Drea): Unfortunate that my two children are there at the moment, however, sincerely unfortunate that since being there they have been forgotten at their schools, one late for work many times, the others glaucoma hasn't been checked and the bribery of gifts to make them want to stay is horrific considering I cannot and should not shower them with gifts everyday so they would not learn to appreciate what is special. With me my children NEVER missed school, work or appointments. I personally feel since I am not meek and mild this agency doesn't care for me yet as it is... "I've been told " don't rock the boat"... Smh🤦🏽‍♀️... Nothing is more important than family. That is what this facility should be teaching the children. BUT ways to make them stay for the financial gains they earn for having the children there. My children don't feel peace or rescued. They feel used as scapegoats for every need Falcon does till they are bribed with the next gift. I'm just saying... Out of the mouths of babes... Today's visit was cancelled without notifying me or DSS... why and what gives them the right to go against judges orders? Need I say more? I can appreciate that some individuals have had fantastic wonderful experiences there however since my children have been there they've had miserable experiences at least the older child has the younger child of course she's excited and thrilled to get all the gifts that she's bribed with to make her want to stay otherwise they need to be home as they never missed one single thing with me I made sure of it. One bad decision on my part has made them be gone and out of my home ...shame on me but shame on Falcon for turning around every bad thing they've done like leaving my children somewhere for hours or even overnight and they were putting them as runaways when they discover they're not there by the middle of the night... Shame on Falcon!!!
Iceey Matt (Matty_.Iceee): I personally was a resident at this children's homer for about two years and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
J C: Grew up here.. for a couple years. I love the kids and staff
IrW!N 83: Great place for kids. Nothing to do but focus on self improvement.

Helping the Orphans Thrift Store: what do users think?
d brittain111: Best ever!
danielle E: Donations were clean and ready to wear double checked for spots or holes before donating too. To be rushed up and yelled at by a woman that items better not be garbage. First off , I don’t donate garbage that goes to dump not to human beings and second that’s not how you operate ANY business or foundation whatever you call yourselves down there this week!
Kai Llamas: Nice layout. Great prices. Kinda warm in there but it's alright.
Glitzy Otter: All the Helping the Orphans thrift stores have great finds and super friendly staff. Some are more organized than others but you have plenty of space to walk and can clearly see everything. Love this chain!
Frank A: God forgive me if I'm wrong, but I can't help but wonder if these folks keep and take home the better donations that they receive and sell the trash -- I and others whom I know have donated super awesome stuff on multiple occasions but it's never found on the shelves, nope, you'll mostly find what many people would consider garbage being sold here. Also would be great if they'd organize the book area👍.But if they're actually " helping the orphans" may God bless 'em.✌️
Anthony Ackerley: Very clean, nice stuff, friendly staff
Julia Smith: Great prices, clean store with a lot of stocked shelves
Rose Xilla: Super clean and staff was very friendly! Absolutely amazing atmosphere and will be going back again!
Orlando Rivera: Very good great deal
Angelo: Nice place. Friendly staff. Household items, furniture, plenty of baby strollers and car seats. Reasonable prices. Plenty of parking too.
Ashadan Forbes: great selection, good prices, friendly staff! i really enjoy thrifting here!
julie keeny: I have dropped of numerous things and bought from there. My husband took a all wood desk and a lady ran out saying u arent leaving junk are you. It was real wood.
Nick Capps: Great deals
Selene Diaz: Awesome place, they are always friendly and have the best prices. I come here at least twice times a month and I'm NEVER disappointed .
MJ B Galendez: My daughter and I enjoy thrifting and saw this little hidden gem at Legion Road. It was our first tome there and this place is pretty clean and organized. We happen to go there on a dollar clothing day and scored us several clothing for a buck. The ladies there were friendly and I was given a reward card. Spend $10 to earn a punch on your punch card and when you collect 5 punches, you get 20% off your next purchase. It was easy to navigate the store and I came on a good day. My daughter found some pants, as she is into vintage clothing. They have several other locations and I hope to visit the other locations in the near future.
John Gillespie: Very nice facility and the workers are always very friendly. We have dropped off numerous things there for donation and they are always so thankful.
Takkers H: Meh selection. Nice people, ok prices
Darrylean Johnson: A changing selection going towards a good cause.
gigi t (gigi t): Great store always nice and clean.Staff always friendly
Zachary B Barber: Friendly and peaceful
Dale Giardina: Very nice people

Helping The Orphans Thrift Store: what do users think?
Mayra Alejandra Hidalgo: Me pareció excelente lugar para conseguir algunas cosas interesantes y a buenos precios y su personal muy amable y atentos remiendo este sitio sin duda volvería a pasar por allí
Dee Johns: Helping Hands Thrift Store has some great deals and the staff is really nice.
S Bermudez: no mask and licking her fingers to open the bags. rude staff all around. i go to the helping the orphans thrift stores all the time and this is my least favorite due to the staff.
AK McKenzie: Nancy and Bobby Jo...they are the best. This was my first time here and I loved it. Good selection.
Debra Steinman: I really enjoy this store ! The prices are reasonable & the place is clean :) . Workers are lovely & not pushy. Come try it out won't you ?
Andrew Jones: Very family friendly thrift store. Always something to find here! Books, movies, lights, clothes, toys and more! Worth a look if you're in town.
Mrs. Williams: Good selection not the friendliest location. Sitting around talking rather than speaking to customers.
kybirdman 23: Amazing love this little shop, the workers are amazing and very helpful
Tammy Wolfe: I saw BEDBUGS 🕷in the clothes will not be back
Matthew Nolan: Best price for second hand items. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and lots of items on sale...
John McCaa: Very friendly staff, always very helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you have a great shopping experience
Merry Partridge: Great place to find deals
Rachel H: This place is so friendly and nice they are very helpful and answer any questions you have about anything but some electronics that are marked checked don’t work properly so I think they turn them on but that’s it
Maddie Hutton: Love the Store. Also such a friendly inviorment. Love Bobby the Lady is very Special
Denise Van Avery: Very nice staff. Great deals.
Amber Lynne “Ambi Kins” Gray: Looooove iiiitt!!!!
Rosemarie Byelich: Lots of nice finds for a decent price. However, I'm scoring them two stars because their customer service lacks. We stood at the counter for several minutes while two co-workers (right at the counter) stood and chatted, ignoring my husband and I. Then the guy began to slowly ring up our items, while still chatting. At one point he just stood there, holding our item in his hand and chatted for a minute before turning around to ring it up. I suggest acknowledging the customer and ringing up their items in a timely matter because this was just unprofessional and rude.
Shaleeka Johnson: I lived in spring lake for years and I always pass by this place since they opened went in yesterday and I must say I loved it everything is clean and well organized will be seeing again ! Very friendly staff
Lorida Miller: Prices are way too high, racks are way too stuffed, you can't browse without stuff falling off hangers, NEED MORE SPACE on clothes racks for checking sizes and looking at the article!
J C: Super friendly and great deals.
The DrunkinChickennc Catering: Very nice place
