Tammy Vroman: Never again! You pay $10 to have to stand up. There are no seats at the bar and all the tables were reserved. I asked for a cup of water and they said no you have to buy bottled water. I tried to buy the bottled water and they wanted to charge me $10 because they don't do open tabs.
Cisco G: I went there for my Bday Sabor VLatinos Raleigh LGBT Saturday Nightit was the worse experience. I am always looking for something new and different especially a Latino LGBT Club. I paid for the entrance like any other club but there were no where to sit down. All the tables and chairs was reserved for a Drag Queen Bday. If I go pay to see a show there shouldn't be all tables and chairs reserved. I having nothing against Drag Queens which I have a lot of friends that are Queens and there are very talented but this was ridiculous & worse small club I been too. There was no where to dance. The bartenders were rude. The Drinks are super expensive. I am paying to have fun not to be like we are in High School Dance. Especially when I came from out of town visiting no one was friendly

Rachel Lewis: Came after a NC State football game this last fall and wanted to have fun and left uncomfortable. This is not a gay bar for sure. It's super sketchy and ratchet. Not exactly what you picture when you see gay bar on google maps. Not a place for girls to go who don't want to be hit on and questions for homosexuals. Assuming anyone's welcome but watch out to be safe.

Emily Roberts: Usually I have fun here (hence the rating) but I was there Sunday night (4/16/23) and I guess I was going out the wrong door (although people had been going that way all night) and once I was already on the other side a man said "no ma'am) and grabbed my arm and yanked me back in. Like full on pulled me cause I was already on the other side. Then he said "the exit is that way". I'm not sure if he was an employee, but he had a black tank top, brown hair, and was very skinny (but also strong). I believe it was a little after 11 in the lobby between flex and the outside bar. If there are cameras it will prove it.

Rosa Mejia: Voy a este lugar seguido. El club en si esta bastante bonito, pero padece de pobreza de alcohol. Seguido se les acaban las modelos y casi nunca tienen vodka. Un club con tanta clientela y que todos los fines de semana sea lo mismo con el alcohol no es logico. Esa es una de las razones por las cuales no avanzan y la clientela empieza a buscar otros lugares.

The DJ.. boy if you don’t keep one track on for more than 20s i swear.. lol he was all over the place with his selections and the choppiest transitions, which i believe is why 97% of the room was standing rather than dance. Don’t get me wrong, the songs were good but his timing with them was not and that is crucial. I wanted to dance forreal and catch the beat, but i was left dissatisfied. Also, the juice selection could be better. I’ve never had Tampico or Juicy Juice at the club, let alone at VIP. I was just left wanting more of a Saturday night vibe, but all I got was potential from the establishment.

Michael Darges: Saw Nora En Pure on Thursday. Bass was set way too loud causing many tracks to sound the same. You could feel the air moving around inside because of it. This was the case for the two openers as well. Ended up leaving early because the experience was totally ruined and not enjoyable. The place was packed early and it was nice to see support, but I probably won’t be going back here to see any DJs on tour because I had much higher expectations with the $40 ticket price.

The main stage / dance area is pretty small for a club but there's not a bad view in the house. The openers were good, the audience just didn't know EDM music much. Sam Feldt came on at 12:30am. I didn't see any harassment going on when I was there. They did a cute job with the decor as the clubs I go to in Dallas don't necessarily have a "theme" or "vibe." I did see signs for $10 drink order minimum.

Swapnil Marathe: Worst experience with management.I attended the San Holo show on May 11, 2023. San Holo was supposed to start at 9PM but he arrived around 12:40AM. I drove two hours to Raleigh after a long ten-hour work shift just to see San Holo. I understand that the club management has nothing to do with this.After waiting for three hours in a crowded space, I decided to search for a place to sit and rest briefly. I tried to find a spot to sit somewhere but obviously its a club and there are no chairs. In desperation, I tried to sit on the floor outside near the bar, only to be approached by the management. Instead of showing empathy or understanding, they bluntly informed me that sitting on the floor was not allowed and demanded that I either stand up or leave the premises.The only silver lining in this entire experience was the bartender, who witnessed the ordeal and took pity on me. He kindly offered me a free bottle of water, recognizing the discomfort I was enduring.I personally wouldn’t go back to Alchemy EVER AGAIN.
Ashley: False advertising! Came for San Holo on a Thursday. Ticket didn’t mention any openers, yet there were FOUR opening DJs in 3 and a half hours. DO NOT give this place your business. We had to leave without seeing San Holo so don’t know if he ever showed. We feel scammed. Honestly shocked that San Holo was booked for Alchemy. He could (and has) played much larger and nicer venues. Edit to add: Looks like San Holo came out around 1am. Know that when you get tickets to an artist at Alchemy, you are going to a club and not a true show. Not everyone can stay out past 2am on a week night, so I wish the ticket information was more transparent.

We requested a drink from the bar.. the bar tender did not discuss prices before serving drink. However, the drinks was overpriced, we tried to ask bar tender questions regarding to the other options and requested to order something else… B/c drinks were made the bar tender tried to make us pay and refused to serve us something different. WE DID NOT touch or drink the drinks at all. Overall, b/c we tried to negotiate with bartender and ask questions he immediately call security over to escort us out. The bare tender was a short, bold headed African American. Everything happened to fast to get his name unfortunately. DONT GO HERE! TERRIBLE SERVICE!P.S my guys friends payed $10 to get in and we escorted out less than 5 mins after paying to get in. I will be calling in to file a complaint to manager
Lucy Agamaite: My partner and I went here to see San Holo and there was no warning that we’d have to stand through 3 and a half hours of random DJs just to see the main act. The venue closes at 2 and it was near 1 when we left and no sign of the act. I was feeling lightheaded from standing and needed to sit down and there was hardly anywhere to sit besides the VIP area so I had to sit on a step and the bouncer said we needed to leave. The lack of accessibility should be criminal.

Daniel B: Total disrespect😩. I am considered a regular of this club. I have been coming to this club every Friday and Saturday night for months. I have an incredible time, meet many many people, and people dance with me, so that they can have a good time. I dance for four hours every night, and people come to this club to have a good time. Tonight I was totally disrespected by a bouncer, that had a problem with where I placed an empty glass. I was careful to make sure that the glass would not break, and set it up on the DJ ledge. I dance with my eyes closed 90% of the time , and apparently, this bouncer, stated that he addressed it with me, but I don’t remember a thing, since my eyes were closed. He then asked me to leave the club, disgracing me in front of my friends. This was total disrespect, and I have assured him, that I will tell every friend, every person that has ever entered this club, to never come back here again. This was an uncalled for response. I personally will never step foot in this club again, since the disrespect was unbelievable. This could’ve been totally avoided, if the bouncer had just taken the glass, and walked it over to the bartender.The total disrespect and dishonor, for a regular customer, is unbelievable.Please do not come to this club, since there are many other clubs, that have fantastic bartenders, bouncers, and managers, that want your business. Let’s shut this club down. It is a disgrace.

Max Freeman: Flex is probably one of the nicest and cleanest gay “dive” bars I’ve been to. The staff is exceptional. The bartenders make an effort to make you happy. There is someone coming around regularly to clean up the empty drinks from the tables. The bathrooms are very clean. Also, the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this bar.

V Red: Clean, strong drinks, and has friendly staff; however, gays beware: it has way too many straights and particularly hetero college jocks that take over the back game room. The jocks even look at actual gay people like we don't belong there.

One of the top reasons for us to come to Raleigh. Unfortunately, despite planning our trip for weeks in advance and getting confirmation from Google hours, WORK, ended up being closed and we had to bring liquor from the store back to Red Roof Inn. Some holiday. All we wanted was Cher and Long Island Iced Teas. Do not go here!

I love that it’s a mix of people from all walks of life. Work is really going in the right direction definitely since it so many straight bars and clubs. Only thing I can say Bad is wish the music was more mix and not so techno.

Andy Le: Don’t be turned off by the one star reviews, they were months ago and for the old place called the “Tavern.” A straight pub I believe. The location is entirely different now with a new owner and such. Fun welcoming, but intense and radiant atmosphere is how I would describe the place. I would recommend it.

As people were being sent out of the establishment, I said "lemme drink what I paid for before I leave" and the bouncer goes "5... 4... 3..." I really thought he was kidding with me but when his countdown finished he grabbed my drink and shoved me out! Seriously owners? Is this what you've trained your bouncers to do with normal patrons who are not causing trouble?

Johana Sanches: THIEVES!!!!! THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! 2 different times and both times they took my card to swipe and overcharged me, my bank account showed almost double of what they vocally said the total was, one of the girl bartender charged me $12 for two bottled waters, one of the guys swiped my card and charged me $34 for 1 vodka and redbull. I have been calling, texting, e-mailing for 4 days and I never got not one response from them, I DO NOT RECOMMEND going here.. they’re all rude, people inside look at you like you don’t belong there, if you look at either direction everybody is ready to fight you for no reason… people get mad if you touch them but you can’t even move side to side, that’s how crowded it is on a Thursday night… my main issue is they are thieves and I stand by it.

My nephew who is 21 went to this club for the first time with his cousin who’s 20 he paid 20 dollars to get in and for her they made her pay 60 dollars because she wasn’t 21, also everyone was getting pushed around like crazy. People were rude unprofessional and it was overall a terrible experience I wouldn’t recommend going to the club ever.

The security woman at the door checked my girls ID then said she has to search her purse which was wristlet size. She meticulously searched this small purse for minutes not sure what she was going to find in there other than some lip gloss and credit cards. Then the guy had to flash his flashlight on the purse as she’s still searching.Said security woman then says, “I have to pat you down”.I’m sorry what? We look at each other and immediately we’re like okay, “let’s go somewhere else”.NEVER have I tried to get into a bar with NO line and been asked to get patted down after you just searched a purse for five minutes. We’re two women in our thirties, I’m not sure what you could have possibly thought we had on us.It was a BIT excessive and uncalled for honestly. But that’s okay. We will gladly take our business elsewhere.Never will I try coming back to this place after that.

Kortia Morning: Dont Waste your time or money here I recently went to the "Trey Songz" concert if thats what you want to call it. First thing is they open the doors at 9:00 pm. If you dont spend extra money on VIP or reserving a table there is no where for you to sit so you basically have to stand the entire night. Bartenders were nice, staff was rude af. Every one started lining up to the stage around 10 the host basically kept saying Trey songs was in route and he was 5 mins away. Trey didn't get there till 2:00 am and only performed for like 15 mins. It was hot af, a girl was about to pass out and staff literally kept walking by her. But let some one even get close to a VIP booth and they literally come over yelling. One girl set on the steps by a vip booth because she was tired of standing and they made her get up. Sorry excuse for a club, I will never go back and when I wrote a fb message they didn't even reply back. They are over priced for no reason I spent 50.00 just to stand around. THEY SUCK

Erica Townsend: TJs is an interesting place. To keep it in perspective I'm from a larger metropolitan city in the northeast. So take it and compare to your expectations/ experiences in those iareas. It's a 25 an older club. Average age is about 50. There is a dress code for no athletic wear and button down collared shirts, no sneakers etc etc.The parking lot is small but there is plenty of street parking. It's in a commercial/retail area so no other clubs to hop to. Once you enter a gentleman checks bags, pay entry fee of 10-20 bucks. Then last security check with a metal detector.You enter the club massive space. Pool tables on the left, little smoking patio and a large bar. Typically 4-5 bartenders line moves quickly.In the floor space you'll see a sea of high top seating sometimes reserved on busy nights leading to an dance floor. Watch your step lol. It's dark and u don't see the step up. Around the dance floor is more reserved seating and a few more high top seating options and a smaller bar.Now given all this space and potential this place is miserable lol. If you like wide leg dress pants, dudes walking with Bluetooths (what year are we in) shiny suits 2 piece poorly fitted shein outfits and every color bodycon dress on the frumpiest of silhouettes this is your place. ( I'm fat to no shade but I dress for my shape lol) . I mean they still taking pictures in front of those drop cloths🙄. they are gonna line dance you to death leaving minimal room for actually dancing and mingling. DJs are terrible, yes both of them even in 1st Fridays. They play the full 3 minutes 15 seconds of a song no transitions no purpose. Reggae then pattie Labelle. No current music. This is one step up from a VFW.Go to Durham ( alot of black progressive well dressed spaces) or downtown. This place is geared towards locals and 50+

Miana Isaac: One of the only decent places for 80s babies but the music is HORRIBLE. They play OLD folks liquor house, 2 step, line dancing music all Nighy. When the dj finally plays a hip hop song he follows it up with a slow jam. The Dj is playing the same Playlist for over a year now. The majority of your patrons are 70s and 80s with some 90s babies mixes in...we wanna dance and hear the music we grew up with and not lol John and usher YEAH and step in the name of love, all night. It feels like yall think you can do what you wanna do and simply capitalize off of us because it's one of the only decent and safe clubs for our age group. Most people are only on the dance floor because they're drunk and not because the music is good. And about 70% of the dance floor is standing still and mingling. I hear people complaining about your music ALL the time inside the club and even to the door man and the MC but no one seems to care about how the people that's keeping yall open feel. Please get another DJ or at least have him diversify and update his old tired played out juke joint music Playlist....ugh. My friends have to beg me to come out to TJs with them because I know imma have to hear every line dance some that was ever made and dance to early 90s r and b and MrCheeks lights camera action first Friday after first Friday. We work too hard to waste out money at your door or at your bar for yall to keep playing people out with that WACK DJ and Playlist!

EXPRESS LIFE TRUCKING: Nice atmosphere and I enjoy old school music. I didn't appreciate one of the guys asking me to put my long sleeve shirt back on. I took it off because it was extremely hot.However, I had a regular top on with the arms out and he managed to come tell me to put my shirt back on out of 100 women but there were other women in there with the same type of tank top I had on with their arms out as well and he said absolutely nothing. I guess I just look like a boss and not the help and he wanted to feel IMPORTANT TALKING TO ME!!!!
Jazzy Leshay: I always enjoy myself when I go to Tj's. First Fridays have been a good turn out; it's always a crowd but they get you in the building without waiting long. I have total respect for the owner because he politely turned a lady that was in line in front of me around because she was in athletic wear. He told her if she had on heels he'll let her in but baby girl was dressed like she about to go running or something, sneakers and all. So I appreciate that he keeps his business classy, no nonsense here. The owner is very aware of the people he let's in and I completely understand and respect it as a black business owner. The music is pretty ok, old school like I like it. The ladies at the smaller bar overlooked me a few times when I was there before some of the men that showed up but finally they got my drink order so that was the only annoying thing about my night. Other than that my night was fun and there was no arguing or fighting that I could tell. They do have a police officer at the door too so that helps. All in all I think Tj's is a good spot for the older, mature crowd who literally only wants to dance, drama free.
Demisola Fadairo: TJ’s is still one of the better clubs in RDU because they don’t play trash radio hits but the DJ I heard on Saturday night is not as good as the DJ they had about 5 to 6 years ago… If it’s the same DJ, then he’s gotten lazier.And ladies, you’ll have to exercise your personal physical boundaries in this place because a lot of these men are touch-starved or just complete clueless about the fact that women’s personal space needs to be respected. So come in with your guard up because a lot of these dudes mainly come to the club to dance with women as a reason to touch them… Gross.
