Sara J. Lovell: Clients needed to purchase a sectional on a quick turnaround. Sectional was delivered but the parts that join the actual sofa together were installed incorrectly. Management from the village district store would not return my call and the sales associate from the Glenwood store was the single least friendly retail clerk I’ve ever spoken with. Hands down! Now my clients are disappointed in the entire operation and I’m trying to find some sort of positive resolution with ZERO communication from Bassett. rest assured, I will never work with Bassett again, and will share this experience with anyone searching for a sofa or sectional in the future.

Shelby Petruzel: What a fun store! Such a wide variety of high quality pieces that are so customizable! The on site interior designers were wonderful. We got lucky with Alyssa, who was a huge help with fabric choices. She showed me options I would have never put together on my own, and everything turned out way better than I imagined. The delivery time was delayed, as it seems all custom furniture was in early-mid 2021, but it was well worth the wait. Alyssa was great at keeping us informed of the delays and working to make sure we were happy. The sofa and chairs we purchased are hands down the best pieces of furniture we have. I never want to leave my living room! Go visit Furnish!

Madeleine Rowley: Just bought and customized a couch and ottoman through Ken at this Bassett location. HIGHLY recommend. It was a wonderful experience. Ken was knowledgable and very helpful in picking out a sectional and ottoman that worked best for us. He helped pull leather and pillow ideas and was just overall very nice to work with. Added bonus that it wasn't an all-day thing. We were in, we found something we loved, got it done, and we were out. The store itself is also very pretty. 10/10 recommend. Thanks, Ken!
Debbie Harkin: I’m only wishing now I had paid attention to the low rating. We moved into our new house earlier this year and bought a complete bedroom set from this store. We were excitedly awaiting the delivery today after waiting 6 weeks. The set was missing one bedside table, and the bedside table that was delivered is missing two legs! I called the store and my sales person was not there. The lady I spoke to was trying to be helpful but still can’t tell me when we’ll get the missing pieces. Not good customer service and the last time I’ll do business with this store.4/22 Update: I had to waste another Saturday waiting for the missing bedside table and legs. They delivered the table but did not have the legs that were missing from my previous delivery. This store is a joke. If you want service like this, just buy your furniture at IKEA.
Ben Clark: My furniture is fine. It’s not great but it’s fine. When I first arrived at Bassett, Suzanne was very friendly and accommodating. She sold me 2 leather recliners and a custom sofa. It took about 4 months for the furniture to arrive. The leather recliners are great, although i’m fairly certain i could have bought better chairs at a lower price elsewhere. The custom sofa is pilling a good bit after less than a year even though we got the sunbrella fabric. They expressly don’t cover this under warranty. The cushions are beginning to give out even though we got the high density upgrade. The worst part is probably the compartmentalization of everything in this company. You cannot buy new cushion casings from the store, that has to be done through customer service. You cannot contact that same customer service about a service request, that has to be a different customer service. This leads to a feeling where everyone is passing the buck on helping you. I expected to love this furniture. I’ve found that it’s just fine. And i hate the way the company handles business at this point and would never willingly buy anything from them again. I do think buying nice furniture is worth the cost, but i wouldn’t do it here again. If I could do it over again I would have gone to Haverty’s up the road.

Allison Lukanich: Great, quality furniture, TERRIBLE customer service. We first got Basset furniture back in 2016. Designed a headboard and got bedroom furniture. The sales associate we worked with was great, until we were billed much higher than the agreed upon price and it took MONTHS of calls back and forth to get it resolved. They also delivered one wrong piece and it took a few weeks to get the right one in.In the market for a new couch, we went back to Bassett against our judgment to do some shopping. We booked an appointment online and when we showed up, our sales associate was no where to be found. The one we were assigned made some rude assumptions about our budget without asking. Nonetheless we worked with her to design a great living room set. We talked over pricing and were satisfied with everything, and planned to place the order the next day. She emailed the invoice and sure enough, it was $600-700 higher than what she told us in store. So glad we didn't order in store, because we almost got duped again. No more Bassett furniture for us!
Ryan Bailey: Furniture is quality and you pay for it. Staff was nice and not pushy like some of the other chain furniture stores. Don't forget to account for delivery fees, could be another $200.

dflask: Bought a sofa and saved some money during a holiday sale which was nice. Had some minor issues. The sofa was delayed by an additional week, but was never communicated until I called to check the status. They did issue a small discount for the inconvenience after fighting. Also, when I went to attach the two pieces of the sofa together, the brackets where misaligned, which was disappointing. Bassett sent a dude out and put 8 more holes in the bottom of the sofa to mount the brackets in the correct position for attaching the sofa. I'll wait and see how the material and craftsmanship holds up over time, but overall i'm quite satisfied with the sofa and the people we worked with.

We had liked it from our first visit, and were considering getting one in leather. After we were passed on by every sales person in the store, including Thomas who sold us the chairs, we decided to leave. Maybe we'll go back.Four stars because we like the product, but come on people ... don't judge a book by its cover. We had just come from walking our dog at William B. Umstead park, and I guess I didn't look like a typical Basset customer in my rolled blue jeans, Cabella's coat, and cap.
Tavi Sterling: Truly the worst customer service experience I’ve had. I drove from Wilmington to Raleigh to find a rug that would go with all the new Bassett furniture I bought for my new home. I was so excited to have found the perfect rug. I ordered it and told the sales girl, Mollie, that I would drive back to pick it up as I did not want to pay the $300 delivery fee or wait for the truck that only delivers to Wilmington every 6 weeks. By picking it up myself I could get the rug sooner. In just a few weeks the rug was in. Local friends of mine went to pick the rug up for me because I was told I would need muscle and they don’t help load any items delivered and picked up at the store. That Sunday I made an early morning drive to Raleigh to get the rug from my friends home. Something didn’t look right to me so I opened the rug to see the inside and to my surprise it was the wrong color. I then waited for the store to open so I could return it. Mollie was very apologetic and helped to reorder the correct rug. They said it would be a couple of weeks. I agreed to come back up to get the rug. However, it’s now been another month and the rug that was only going to take two weeks keeps being delayed. So I said please just put it on the delivery truck. But now the date has changed to a date I’m not available for medical reasons. I finally spoke with the manager who proceeded to tell me I was just an angry person and they would just refund my money back. I could hardly believe my ears. Here I’ve been patient and doing all the work to follow up on where my purchase is and his response is to tell me I’m angry and talk over me and now no rug that I’ve been waiting for. WOW! Just unbelievable. He did not bother to try to find any solution Gil Croy was rude and disrespectful. Hard to believe this is the person managing this store.

Diana Loera: bad quality fabric for very high price, first time cleaning as directed and noticed the fabric was not well tucked in, poor quality, excessive pilling, very disappointed.
Vestige Architectural: My wife purchased an expensive upholstered bed in a beige tone. They require about 1/3 $ down at sale and 2/3 right before delivery. The bed was shipped without any plastic cover and was strapped to the inside wall of the box truck. I looked in the truck and saw other people's sofas upside down on the truck floor. There was a black mark across the headboard from the strap and a large crushed imprint, and it even displaced the decorative rows of nail heads. I wrote "damaged" on the signature line and allowed the guys to leave it here while a new one was ordered. Bassett acknowledged the damage and agreed to replace but they asked us to send more photos even though I saw the photos that the delivery guys took. I called Bassett and asked them to credit the 2/3 cost back to the card while we waited another month and they refused. I had to call the credit card bank and dispute the charge. Later, when the replacement arrived, the guys were out of shoe covers and then they realized that there was no hardware included on the first or second delivery so it could not be assembled. They offered to come back in a few days with the special hardware but I told them to mail it and I would assemble it myself so they are not on my carpet again. The warehouse supervisor did not call us as promised, so we had to call them to make sure it was mailed out.
T Robinson: We were greeted at the door but wanted to view options. Were looking for a sofa and rug. We walked around and saw several employees standing around and literally ignored us. I guess they felt the sectional for 8k was something we couldn't afford. Well sir...we could afford it but would never spend that much for the sub par customer service we received. Went down the road and plan to purchase from the other store.

One of the sales representatives came over to help us and after expressing to her we were looking for something a little more modestly priced (the prices were lofty, as is most furniture) the sales lady directed us to some other discount furniture places and said we could come back when my girlfriend had a "first rate job". I found this comment extremely condescending, and classless. This establishment will never receive any of my business. Such treatment to potential customers is tactless and unprofessional.
Kelly Grant: Buyer Beware: these people really take ALL SALES FINAL to the extreme, even if they deliver to you something that is the antithesis of what you agreed you were buying.I ordered a $1400 sofa and was adamant with the sales person that I wanted a plush, soft seat. We looked at lots of frames on their sales floor until I finally found one! Just the right size, could be customized the way I like it, and then set out to look at fabrics.I have a few years experience in the home furnishings industry and special ordering is no mystery to me. Of course it's not going to set exactly like the floor model. Any reasonable person knows that, or should. But when I asked the salesperson if she though the jaquard fabric we had found together would affect the the feel of the cushions, she was adamant: NO, it would not.Well, it did. They delivered to me a sofa that sits more firmly than any sofa I have ever sat on, and I have seen a lot. I called the store immediately and the salesperson told me that I was just "in shock" from having bought a new sofa. That's absurd, and it's condescending.I agreed to go in the next day, and I met the owner. HE said that yes, the fabric would affect the seat. But his solution was the same as the one offered the day before by the salesperson: they would WALK on the cushions to break them in. That is preposterous for a sofa in this price range. And I myself had never once heard of that as a remedy. I'd also never seen a special order come out so drastically different from the floor model. I did not get what I ordered.I called. I emailed. I was very polite in every call or email, and yet the owner refused to communicate--I could heat crickets chirping.I even offered to take a loss on this piece of furniture and take a store credit--not a refund, but a credit; and I had originally intended to buy a chair and ottoman from them as well.They won in small claims court, because the judge cut me off and would not allow me to finish discussing the substantial paper trail I had which included the unanswered email and letters, along with my phone log. The judge said that "thousands" of people have probably sat on that floor model. I'm sorry, but that is faulty reasoning as well. If the sofa is that worn, then it is not a fair representation of what I would receive when my order was complete. This piece is either defective or or was misrepresented by a floor model that was nothing like the finished piece.In the interest of diplomacy and creating a very happy customer--who would likely write very positive reviews and buy more furniture from them, I would think this owner would have offered to work with me, rather than ignoring me--or offering to walk on the cushions (or "manipulate").They seem greedy to me; once they've got your money, they do not care. That man could have created a customer for life in me, but a lousy $700 profit got the better of him and was even worth spending a few hours in small claims for him.BUYER BEWARE--don't trust Dexter Furniture. If they mess up your order, you will be stuck with it--unless you get a judge who will allow you to speak and be heard in court. But who wants to go to court anyway? Beware. This store owner is not a decent merchant who cares about customers--not even if you spend $1400 with them.Try Norwalk Furniture nearby on Glenwood for quality, custom made upholstery. Their customer service is excellent and they appear to care about creating great furniture and happy, satisfied customer. Dexters does not care.

Caryn Summers: Most friendly and patient sales man we worked with, however, the couches you sit on in the store are not what comes to your door. We ordered one couch and it came so overstuffed that there was not enough seat left. They graciously let us switch it out (of course we paid the difference) for another couch. We just got this 2nd couch last week and it’s not ANYWHERE near the comfort of the one in store. Can’t even believe it’s the same couch. It’s hard as a rock and terribly uncomfortable and feels overstuffed as well. At $2000 you’d think it would be better comfort.

Barbara Lynch: I purchased a klaussner sofa thru Wayfair which was delivered late November 2022. On May 29th, a guest in my home leaned against the back of the sofa and the bottom slats snapped and broke. Wayfair has submitted a claim with Klaussner but from the reviews I’ve read on here, i hold little hope in getting any satisfaction from them. I now have a brand new broken sofa. Yeah me!
Kathryn Roberts: Quality of furniture is fine but their customer service is absolutely awful. You already wait forever for the furniture to be made then you have to wait until there is another delivery scheduled in your area before they will deliver the furniture. Once we FINALLY received our love seat, the cushions didn't fit properly. It has been MONTHS since we requested replacement cushions and it has been a couple months since the the cushions were delivered to the warehouse, but because there hasn't been another order in my area, they have yet to be delivered. I have emailed numerous times without a response, it's not until I email for the 2nd or 3rd time that I eventually get a subpar response. And to be honest, the craftsmanship of the furniture we have received is also subpar. Its comfortable and looks good, but if you look closely the seams are crooked. Overall, bad experience. Two stars because we don't dislike the furniture and it's comfortable and the sales man at the physical store was nice to work with. Other than that - I would 100% not recommend this furniture company.

It was delivered April 2022 with a 10 year warranty that we paid extra to have. They would replace everything as it broke. But by February 2023, the framing cracked and cushions sank into themselves. We reached out for a warranty and as of today (April 28, 2023) nothing is fixed. They attempted but after delay and delay a 3rd party arrived and said the fix was not as described in the work order. It was not the 3rd part contractors fault. We have been living with a broken couch for almost 3 months now. What is the service agreement for this company? The customer service and quality of this North Carolina company has been deplorable. At this point I request a refund to purchase a new couch. I sincerely hope that someone will see this and try to resolve it soon.
Erin deFreitas: Stay far away from this place! The people are nasty, classless, confrontational and they will blame YOU for any issues! Should have known on day one when we walked in and the people were so unfriendly. Gave them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. Ordered a sectional. Measured our large bonus room multiple times, fit fine. But sales lady forgot to mention the largest component is literally the largest piece the factory makes. (Found that out from the delivery ppl) Did not fit up our stairs and delivery ppl told us this has happened many times and that we would not get any $ back. Called the store, admittedly anxious by now, and was literally yelled at and insinuated we were stupid for not knowing. In shock at this point. Have NEVER been spoken to in this manner in my life. That’s their job, to know their products. Sales lady never even asked about our home - whether there were stairs etc. After talking to the yelling guy we talked to the sales lady, same thing, yelling over the phone in shrill voice, ZERO accountability, could not get a word in to discuss the situation due to her yelling, never mind an apology for causing this mess. Got the distinct impression they enjoy the yelling and this sort of thing happens often. Now waiting on replacement pieces which we don’t even want. Sick that these nasty people got our hard earned money. The way they are responding to all these negative reviews is NOT the way they treat you in reality. Never ever again!!!
Mini Life: Terrible service, communication, and quality. To keep an 8 month long process as short as i can...10-14 week delivery was 20 weeks and I had to call to even find out my furniture was there at 20 weeks, no telling when i would have recieved it if I had left it up to them. Furniture delivered with dirt stains, took 3 weeks, 3 calls and 2 visits to the store to get someone out to clean it. Needed a replacement part because 1 piece could not be cleaned. Was told that would take 4 weeks. It had now been 11.5 weeks and still no communication from the store about my part even with 3 calls to the store and 1 email. Now we have more damage to the furniture with a broken spring that has torn through the back of the recliner and terrible piling on the sofa. They were made aware of this 4 weeks ago and have not responded. All of this has been communication to the store manager Eric and the service manager Barron. All they want to do is point fingers at each other and resolve NOTHING.

Edward Carden: DO NOT PAY in FULL when you order furniture from this place because if there is an issue when you finally receive what you thought was ordered, its going to be a while before anything happens to correct it. Klaussners Furniture wants to charge me for the cushioned seats that were missing from my dinette chairs when delivered 4 months late and ordered 14 months ago. I've learned a valuable lesson about furniture sales people and holding a payment over the suppliers head.

Nelson Ting: I “purchased” a couch on June 20th and opted to pay half then, half upon delivery in what they promised would be 8 weeks max. That already seemed like a stretch, but I gave them benefit of the doubt because I understand the world is facing supply chain issues. It is now October 12th, more than 16 weeks later, and I am still without a couch and have $2,500 tied up with this business.The worst part is their customer service - don’t ever bother calling them because no one will pick up, and when you leave a message they will call you back during inconvenient hours. Asking for a delivery ETA is like trying to extract teeth. Severely regret my decision coming here.
Oh My! Event Planning: Ordered a recliner February 2022. Estimated deliver 16-18 weeks. Fast forward. It’s Oct. 36 weeks later. Nothing. I’ve called multiple and emailed multiple times. Eric, the delivery manager said they were waiting on a part for the mechanics but received and in Asheboro. No ETA when they will get it. I call. I text, wanting an update, including a refund. Leslie Sugg: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read these reviews before you order from here!!!Ordered my bedroom set in February 2022 and was told it would take 6 months for completion. I hadn’t heard from anyone as of August 2022. I needed it delivered in September 2022. I personally called to set up my own delivery date and was told then that the furniture was ready. Day of delivery comes and I was told my large dresser was damaged when loading it onto the delivery truck. Apparently, a huge hole in it. I was told by the warehouse manager it would take “maybe” 6 weeks to be replaced but that he didn’t know for sure. Fast forward a week and I haven’t heard from anyone. I call once again myself on a Friday. I get the same answer of being “maybe 6 weeks”. I was told at that time, they would get in touch with the manufacture and give me a call back on the following Monday. No shocker here, it’s the Thursday and almost a week later and I haven’t heard from anyone. My all wood, lifetime warranty furniture, that took 6 months to make and be available for delivery, MIGHT take 6 weeks?? 6 more months?? who knows?? I have been unable to speak to anyone who knows the answer. In summary, please do not order from Klaussner’s if you expect amazing customer service. The communication is horrible. Also, you’d expect, for 5K worth of bedroom furniture, an accident on loading onto a delivery truck wouldn’t happen like that. They seemed very nonchalant about it when I called. Will never order anything from them ever again.

Pottery Barn: what do users think?
Keith Coltrain: The sales representative was very helpful and accommodating. My complaint is not with him but with the company's billing department. I had made a fairly large purchase that was going to be delivered in various shipments over five months. I was told my credit card would be charged for each delivery when the shipment was made. However, the billing department billed my credit card for the entire order at once. This was an irritating surprise, but I could have accommodated that billing even though it would have pushed my card to near the limit. The billing department then, one day later, erroneously billed my card AGAIN for roughly 70% of the order; i.e., I had now been billed 170% of the order. This resulted in my exceeding my credit card limit by over $5000 which caused my credit card company shut down my card. To make matters worse, I was planning to leave on vacation the next day and needed my card for the trip. I tried reaching Pottery Barn's customer service but after 1-1/2 hours on hold, I gave up. I then contacted the store manager and was told that he could do nothing about it, but that the charges were "test runs" to confirm available credit and that they should fall off in 5 to 7 days. He had no explanation at all as to why my card had been double charged. I was ultimately able to transfer money from my checking account to make an advance, online payment on my credit card to lower it to below the allowed limit thus freeing it up for use on my vacation. The entire process cost me three hours of time during a work day, and when, Pottery Barn's erroneous charges are finally reversed, I'll have approximately a $10,000 credit on the card that will take several months to spend down. The take away is to be ready for large, erroneous charges to be placed on your credit card.
Anna Adams: I ordered a sectional couch that was delivered stained and not assembled. After reaching out to Pottery Barn multiple times, they offered me 15% off my original purchase OR the option for a couch medic to come to my house to clean the couch. As I paid for a “performance fabric” I picked the 15% rebate assuming it wouldn’t be hard to clean/ assemble the couch. The cleaning was a piece of cake, but the assembly process has proven to be a nightmare. The delivery men clearly struggled as the couch was not well constructed to begin with. The alligator clips don’t align, and there is no passive path of insertion for the sectional pieces. Not only do I wish I had not taken the 15% discount, but I wish I had never ordered from Pottery Barn to begin with.
Mona Tanyi: I always come in here to window shopping, mainly because the items are dreamy beautiful but a bit pricy. By window shop, I mean sometimes I buy something. I love interior decorating and pottery barn also has a lot of design inspiration. This location has an excellent variety of good quality products.
Kea Allen: The service here was great. We were looking for a couch and one of the representatives made sure to let us know that things could be customized to suit our liking, looked for options that would fit my space, and printed out a quote while providing me a material sample to take with me. While I may not have ended up purchasing the couch, I will say that I will be going there again to shop for decor just because of how nice of an experience it was.

Multiple times I asked to speak to a supervisor which they would not pass me up to instead they sent me to a team leader who was not only rude but didn’t know what he was doing. If you order from this company make sure you want the item because it’s impossible to cancel and get a refund

We ordered a sectional sofa from this location in early November of 2020-it has since been delayed numerous times and now isn't scheduled to arrive until June of 2021. The sales people at the store will give you a 6-8 week estimate for delivery, but that is a plain lie. Once you order, you cannot get a refund until the item is delivered. We've been out thousands of dollars for 5 months with no furniture to show for it.

PBK doesn’t just meet safety regulations, they exceed them!

Two weeks later when I called to confirm I was going to come pick them up, I was told by someone in a managerial position that she confirmed my story and the young man had placed them back for me. She said their policy is to only hold things for three days. She was rather nonchalant about the issue. I am now sitting with 4 chargers that are not returnable and lost the other four! Very poor customer service!

I wanted to buy it on the spot. I ended up buying the 80" sofa version over the 95" grand sofa online. I considered it an investment. I plan to have this piece for many years. I can see myself getting some other pieces from the collections here. Once I buy my house I wont have much furniture shopping to do!

Robin Mehera: It was a warm Saturday afternoon. We were looking for a shelf for the nursery, and went into this spot.They make all their items in India I believe, so some custom designs. Their pricing is decent, a bit pricey but not as bad as most high end furniture stores.We have gotten a living room storage piece from there and it has held up well.One thing to know is all sales are final, so no returns or exchanges. You better know you want it.
MJ Worldwide: Cute furniture shop. Minimal frills. Sourcing from around the world. Some pieces are more sturdy and have more design features, some pieces are a bit flimsy and could be thrifted at a better price. Worth a look but I didn’t find anything that stood out to me. I might come back to buy a house warming gift.
