US Black Belt Academy / I H PARK's Martial Arts: what do users think?
Tony Spencer: New management seem great!I'm so happy to have found this place. Extremely well run. My son loves going and the change in his focus was amazing and occurred within the first week. Most of all I love that Master Park and crew are the exact opposite of the "trophy for everyone" mentality. Kids truly must earn it here and they are required to show respect as they work toward their goals. Excellent!
Leonora Barden: My daughter and myself love this place! This Martial Arts Academy has helped my daughter with the very discipline and structure that kids need at her age.She has learned so much and for that , I am happy!
AshleyWarren1986: Us black belt academy is awesome

Justin Boyes: Great place to learn and train
Sid Singh: Great place! Coaches are knowledgeable, and everyone is super friendly there! Definitely recommended!
Ozella Bowman: Fantastic teachers and very kind staff! John is raw but professional and you can tell he knows his stuff! The teachers are extremely energetic and patient particularly when dealing with the younger kids, but they still keep things orderly and disciplined...vs other places where the instructors can't keep a handle on the kids. A great experience all around and highly recommended!
Michael Vaught: A very welcoming environment. I spoke with the owner who was very polite and knowledgeable. Also throughly explained different types of martial arts classes the gym offers. I highly recommend this gym. The instructors are extremely friendly and helpful.
#TeamCooke Qbc: Love this place great atmosphere for kids..
Selena Fuller: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis place is a must for any Muay Thai, BJJ training. Everyone you meet is so welcoming starting with John, the owner. David Fair: Great learning environment, kind people, great vibe.
Anthony Pannetti: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat energy for all levels of athletes, Very knowledgeable crew and a fun time!

Jamar Turner: RIMA has been amazing. Everyone has been welcoming to me and my family. I have trained in Hapkido for 6 years. I felt stagnate and wanted to continue to learn. Professor Tricoli has taught me so much in the few months that I have been here. He has pushed me and helped me continue to grow. I look forward to learning more.
Sabrina Bradley: Great people and Great place
Andrew Bohn: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueRIMA is awesome! The masters have a wealth of knowledge and know how to teach it to you. It feels like a family. A family that fights and sweats and learns to break each others bones, but a family :-)
Calvin Harris: Nice environment and the staff is very professional. Great work out space and I love the basketball court. Excellent way to lose weight and burn lots of calories. Instructors are patient and make sure you learn the proper techniques. I also like the hours of operation. You should check it out!
Sami Farmer: Some teachers are cool. I liked the kick boxing class because it‘s fun. Instructors are hit or miss. It’s also pricey.
Jeannien Engelbrecht: Great facility and ownership! We enjoyed our first trial as a family and looking forward to our return! This club offers classes for all ages!!
Bryan Adams: Love this place!Everyone is super welcoming and helpful. Professor Tricoli is awesome and his expertise is very broad and deep across many martial arts. Several other high ranking veterans yo provide guidance as well.New location is great too.
MaryAnn I: Pros: The kickboxing instructors were pretty good. I had a lot of fun during some classes. Pricing is ok & schedule is convenient. Cons: Unprofessionalism about my being out of shape from staff and members. I hated the “special attention,” unsolicited weight loss tips, & laughs that I got during the 2 months that I went to RIMA, averaging 5 days a week. Lastly, I didn't appreciate being grilled when I canceled my membership.
MaryFaye Dodson: Awesome people awesome place highly recommend
Greg Martinez: Great place!
Tyler Ingram: Those men are experts and they can teach anyone how to be a professional fighter
Eronger Kornegay: We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine:Parking: 5Location: 5Decor/ambiance: 5Customer Service: 5+RIMA Martial Arts is the place to be if you are seeking instructional coaching in fitness kickboxing! Skip of all of the accolades and lets get right to the experience.RIMA is located off of Six Forks in a well populated area. Parking is not a problem and its super safe around the location. The decor is edgy (typical gym look) but super clean. For this gym to be as busy as it is, its really neat and has a great smell too (little things like this matter to me). The service I receive during my visits is always stellar! The staff and trainers are world class team members who make the RIMA brand a success. I was lucky to connect with one of the trainers named John. He has a passion for the community and helping empower those who seek it.If you are interested and have some drawbacks, give them a try and check them out. They offer Free Private Intro classes! The staff and members are all so welcoming while the workouts are always progressive, and fun!

Gracie Raleigh: what do users think?
Gavin Gaspar: I was in town for business looking for a place to train. The academy was great. The jujitsu was technical and everyone was friendly. I highly recommend training there. I look forward to stopping by again. JLG
Paige Farley: My sister and I took a self-defense class with Karl at Gracie Raleigh, and it was incredibly useful, engaging, informative, and helpful. Karl was extremely communicative, knowledgeable, kind, and exceeded our expectations beyond measure. He taught us so much and made us feel so comfortable. You could tell that he truly cares about what he does, and he went above and beyond to make our experience a helpful and positive one. We can’t thank you enough!
Amir McClain: I stared to attend classes about a month ago when my Uncle recommended I come and it has been an amazing experience for sure. All the coaches are amazing and work with you one whatever you need help on or want to work on. I would definitely recommend coming and joining this great program and team! You will not only have a great time but will see results!
Jeff Brinkman: I had the opportunity to drop in tonight. It’s a great facility, with a welcoming environment. The instructions was top notch, breaking down techniques to make them applicable for upper level belts but keeping them simple enough for the white belts to become comfortable with them.I’ll definitely be stopping in the next time I’m in town.
Dan Almond: Gracie Raleigh is a great place to learn. The community they have established is very welcoming and the instructors are awesome. If you are looking for a place to get started on your path in learning BJJ, I would highly recommend it.
Jessica Sullivan: Can’t say enough good things about this gym. My 8 year old son takes Brazilian jiujitsu and the coaches are second to none. The energy coach Thom brings in the room keeps everyone so engaged and excited to be there. Not only that but they take a real interest in the kids and train them not just for bjj but for life. They teach them they are leaders in their community and “10 ft tall” They command respect and teach discipline with a firm hand but also so kind and caring at the same time. Greyson, Karl and Thom are treasures and my kids a better person from training with them.
Colin Kiser: I'd been waiting to train BJJ for years, and finally pulled the trigger at Gracie Raleigh 2 months ago, along with my 7 yr old son. Though the gym has many positives, I've specifically enjoyed the overall culture or learning, support, and friendliness (particularly towards newbies). This is key when you're choking one another out... I feel comfortable and excited to go to class every time. The gym is welcoming, safe for kids, and CLEAN. The new location is baller. Props to the team.
Noah Pope: Welcoming environment. Knowledgeable instructors. Highly recommend.
Donald Dickey: Great workout for Muay Thai!
Alan Grubner: feel lucky i had the chance to drop in for the trial kickboxing class. this place is awesome. really appreciated the vibe & instruction. if i lived here, i’d join up for sure! big thx!
Thomas Garner: I've really enjoyed my experience so far at Gracie Raleigh. The coaches are all very respectful, knowledgeable and passionate. I was truly amazed at the level of detail in every instructional. My confidence as a person and as someone who can defend myself and my family has really grown since attending. The gym is kept clean and things are always in order. Everyone at the gym has been friendly and welcoming. They're building a beautiful new gym down the road, which will be opening soon. Gracie Raleigh is top notch!
Philip Lester: Just started coming here a few weeks ago. Great experience so far and overall the staff has been super helpful/welcoming. Members have a wide range of skill levels making it great to find sparring partners. Kicking pads while listening to 90s hip hop has definitely been the highlight so far.
Luis Lopez: Started at Gracie in 2017 and attended thru 2019 I'm looking forward to going back. The coaches are awesome, the people is great and always willing to help. If you want an environment where you feel welcome every time you step thru the door this is the place. Hope to start over this 2022!
Michael Raimo: Had a great time at Gracie Raleigh this past Saturday. I hadn't done Jiu-Jitsu in over 4 years and everyone was welcoming and respectful. Had a great workout and was able to refresh some old skills. Really recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to get into BJJ.
Steve Sieminkewicz: I’ve been training Jiu-Jitsu here for a couple months now and am very much enjoying my training. The coaches I’m learning from, the other students, and the gym culture are all great. There is so much to learn and I am always looking forward to the next class!
Alexander Gray: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueStarted coming to BJJ classes a month ago. Have done about ten classes so far. Love everything about the way the gym operates. The instructors remember the students even though every class is 30+ people. If you want to learn in a comfortable but structured environment from top quality coaches look no further.
Patrick Doyle: Positive:QualityAwesome gym. Really enjoyed training here. Instructors are all very high quality and it's a friendly atmosphere with some great people.
Will Reuther: After moving to NC and researching different schools in the area I landed on Gracie Raleigh, and I’m really happy I did. It’s a place where I know I can always come to focus and learn. The instructors here pull from real world experience and competition, and they know how to break down Jiu jitsu into bite sized pieces. I think the best part of this group is that you can train at whatever level you want. If you want to be competitive you can find that here, if you want to focus on your fitness or if you‘re just starting and want to try it out, you will find people that are interested in the same thing and on the same level as you. It’s an all around welcoming environment. They also have an awesome kids program here. It’s really cool to see a school that genuinely enjoys teaching younger kids about grappling/jiu Jitsu, and the parents are excited about it too.Hopefully this helps, I would definitely recommend this place!
Heather Marks: The youth program here is wonderful!
Ethan Williams: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI love training here! The atmosphere is always friendly and the variety of classes and people is sure to help with all aspects of combat sports and self defense. if your ever wanting to learn a new skill, meet great people, and get in shape i definitely recommend Gracie Raleigh.
Vytautas Smetona: Gracie fundamental classes are very beginner friendly and the coaches are very knowledgeable. Classes have a good mix of self defense techniques and sport Jiu jitsu.

Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy of Raleigh: what do users think?
Jake Donovan: Started here about 4 weeks ago. I have been taking Jiu Jitsu and Judo. Instructors are great in both Jiu Jitsu and Judo. There are plenty of classes offered during the week for Jiu Jitsu and twice for Judo. Everyone is very friendly and it feels like a large family. I have had a ton of fun taking classes at Royce Gracie in Raleigh.
Ranbir Bakhshi: I have been training here for a couple of months and have been learning more and more each week.Billy does an awesome job teaching Jiu Jitsu, very knowledgable and has a great sense of humor. Doesn't make you feel uncomfortable when asking questions.Great group and culture at this gym!
Elias Everett: Top level academy. Very clean and professional. Billy is a very knowledgeable, welcoming instructor.
Michael Cote: I started about 6 months ago and I've both really liked it and feel as if I've improved a lot. I've only done the jiu jitsu classes because it best fits my schedule but you can take advantage of judo, kick boxing, etc as well. My son goes to the kid classes and loves it. Both the adult and the kid coaches are really good. I go to both the morning (6 AM classes) and the afternoon/night classes and the instruction is excellent in each one. Coaches will definitely take time to answer questions and make sure you understand and are doing things correctly. I've also never felt like the place is unsafe. Everyone is incredibly nice, willing to answer questions, and no one is trying to crank out moves.
Chuck Chapa: Billy and Patches are awesome! Excellent facility, training, coaching, and staff. My daughter and I love to and are proud to train at the Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy Of Raleigh!
Chris Edl: I can't say enough good things about this academy. It's a legit facility with a great staff and the teachers are top-notch. The cool thing is a membership doesn't limit you to just Jiu Jitsu; you can also do kickboxing and judo. So with that said, I've definitely been getting my money's worth going up and doing what's available, whenever I can. Give it a shot and see if it's for you too.
Ken Schult: Excellent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym; coaches are knowledgeable and supportive, with an overall positive approach to this martial art. I've been taking my grandson here for more than a year, after one of my sons, who also trains at RGJJ, recommended it. They have great kids classes and a clean & hygienic environment. Highly recommended.
Michael Bennett: What I can’t believe is real is the fact that they offer Gracie BJJ, Judo, and Muay Thai kickboxing. 3 separate programs, all included in your membership, and they all flow together well. The instructors for each are very high quality. Just how they don’t just “hand out” stripes and belts, I don’t just hand out 5 star reviews. I’ve been looking for the right place to train, and this is it for sure.
Brad Rogerson: Started here about 2 months ago as a fresh white belt. After having been an athlete my whole life and never trying Jiu Jitsu...I'm glad I choose this as the start to my journey.I have done free classes at other gyms and they are all great, but this one seemed to fit a style I liked."Patches" who runs the front desk made me feel at home immediately and gave me a rad team mom kinda vibe. She also did a great job educating me on how things work to make sure I was comfortable there.Other places I have been did not have such a dialed in structure and focus on their students the way I have experienced.I can only speak for lower experienced students... But the beginner classes I'm going to, everyone is have a really good time. I am meeting lots of cool new people and learning faster than I would have thought.I would say if you want to try it out...Don't be shy, enjoy the experience of being new, the more advanced girls and guys are super supportive in helping to new crowd!
Roma Sushyk: Almost first month in, great space, solid instructor, awesome atmosphere.Highly recommend.
Sean Witty: Been there four months w/ my son and love it. Instructors help each person with what they want to learn and respect everyone's goals. It's not a belt factory, nor is there an emphasis on testing - you get out what you put in. Billy (and others) always take time to answer questions, explain, and give individual attention. Kids program is fantastic - teachers push the kids at a good pace and get them comfortable with each step. My son has TONS more confidence and ability than when he walked in. 100% great experience!
Giovanni Ford: Been away from the area, due to work schedule! Came by the gym and it felt like I never left! Awesome atmosphere and instruction!
Frank Shaw: 10/10, such a welcoming and positive place. Staff and students are awesome all around
Eric Moran: Amazing instructors! Great energy. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a real mixed martial arts experience
Joe Miller: The coaches are friendly, very encouraging and do a great job to give special attention to all of the students. From Peaches (mascot) upon entry, to Patches remembering EVERYONE’S name, they make you feel welcome. The instruction is structured and works to advance the students and build confidence.
Vicky Wang: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismMy boy is 8 and has no material art experience before, we just started it last month. As we just came back from the class tonight, he is not scared to defend himself anymore. I definitely see the improvement!
Rabih Richa: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Steven Fowler: Every facet of my experience here has been excellent. The instructors are top-notch and everyone is helpful. Fellow, more experienced students want you to succeed and learn how to get better. Can't recommend enough.
Mustafa oudeh: Absolutely love this gym! Everyone is so kind and they care about their students. Billy is a great teacher. Thank you
Alex Davis: I have been training here for a little over 5 years and it is truly one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I'll tell anyone who asks that I came for the Jiu Jitsu and I stayed for the people. You will not find higher caliber people anywhere else, nor will you find a group of people and instructors who are as invested in your success, not only jiu jitsu but also in life, as the people at Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy of Raleigh. If you're thinking about joining or trying it out, don't waste another minute and just show up, you won't regret it.
Jason O'Briant: We enrolled our son in the kids class 6 months ago and the speed of his progress is really staggering. The majority of the credit must go to Rashaun the lead kids' coach. He has a special talent communicating with children and getting the most effort out of them. He both challenges and pushes them. I find his approach very refreshing. I've witnessed tremendous changes in all the other students in the class as well.Billy, the owner, his partner, and Peaches (gym dog) are always there to welcome you, chat about the day, and sets the tone and culture of the school through his leadership. Oh, and back to Peaches...Billy rescued her, and there should be a whole separate post here about Peaches!Despite being in a building with any number of highly trained and skilled martial artist, it's one of the most friendly environments for learning and exploring personal growth. But, please don't conflate friendly with easy. The kids are working, and it's not always easy, but they're learning how to defend themselves. It's a challenging endeavor that few actually know how to do. Kids here certainly will.

Master Chang's Martial Arts: what do users think?
Iliana Guadalupe Rodriguez Salinas: This place has offered a secure environment for our kids to learn and develop themselves in martial arts . Both of our boys love training there. It is a great place for kids to start but also to master this discipline . At a very young age they teach them mind, eye and body focus also respect and self confidence. The staff is very helpful and it makes huge difference to make the families feel welcomed.
Chris Thomas: My daughter went to her first Belt testing yesterday and it was phenomenal. The Master Chang’s North Ridge location is the best! My daughter has had a great experience so far not only learning martial arts but also they do alot of teaching on good moral values. The practices of dicipline, respect, confidence and goal setting have been great for my daughter. The support from Petra, Master Kim and the others has been phenomenal. They really love what they do and the passion seeps into the students. I’d 100% recommend for all ages! Thank you all for everything you do!
Lina Fitiani: Master Chang's Martial Arts is definitely the best place my kids go to these days! Not only did it work on their self-confidence and gymnastics, but it also taught them punctuality, balance, and body&mind focus. And the belt testing event is the cherry on top where my kids feel they earned it after all their training.Thank you Master Kim&Ms. Petra ❤️
Molly Groves: Master Changs has been amazing for our 5 year old! He’s gained confidence, has been more focused, and is really enjoying learning martial arts. He belt tested today and moved up a level! The belt testing was super organized and well planned! We are so happy with our experience!
Celina Parada: Mom, my son has more confidence in himself, has new friends, and is have been better in the school. This year we celebrated Birthday Party from my son and this was a amazing experience. The Master Y Kim is a excelent person, know the need in each child and is professional. Miss Petra is special person, they are a great team. Solo basta decir GRACIAS 😊🙏❤
Octavia Ross: This has been such an awesome experience for my son. I enjoy attending classes both watching and participating. He has accomplished a lot since joining. Master Y Kim and Ms Petra have been overly supportive and I truly appreciate it. Also during my sons birthday they set up the party, hosted, and cleaned. So awesome and stress free!!
Lauren Pritchett: My son has been coming to Tiger Tots class with Master Y Kim for 9 months now. The training has really improved his confidence. We love how we can transfer what he learns in class to home (eye focus, body focus, mind focus!) Petra is very communicative and kind to everyone. He just had his 4th birthday party there which was an absolute blast had by all. Master Y Kim and Petra really took care of everything!
Meg Andrea: We love Master Chang's. They are warm, welcoming, and make each person feel seen. My 6 + 10 year olds have been going to classes here for about a year and we just had an awesome birthday party for the youngest. 10/10 recommend this location!!
Erika Hutton: We love this studio! The staff is amazing and caring and creates a wonderful community/family environment—so positive! My daughter loves it.
Je suis Leslie: Awesome Martial Arts School!!! My son is 10 years old and he started classes for the first time this past summer. Best decision we did. He is improving his behavior at home and school. Gaining self control and perseverance in what he does. Master Kim truly cares about his students. Teaching with patience and sense of humor. Miss Petra is a beautiful person, ready to help and serves with diligence and love. Thank you!!!
John Rainey: I started by bringing my nephews to class and was so impressed that I joined as a student self. Master Y Kim is an amazing instructor and everyone learns properly because of his teaching skills and patience. Ms. Petra is a fantastic program manager and makes the experience enjoyable and easy.
glacies: I think that the Master Chang’s North Ridge location is the best environment for a kid to be in because of the supporting adults surrounding MCMA as well as the life skills that are promoted during classes. Simple skills like how to respect your parents, how to focus on your homework, how to have confidence, etc are all taught during these classes so kids can take these skills throughout their lives. Not to mention the other children are all rooting for the success of others, constantly uplifting one another. This is definitely a place where you want your child to be.
Bobby Koo: Everyone at Master Chang’s Martial Arts have been wonderful. They provide a fun, encouraging and structured path to learning martial arts. Beyond just the technical, they also reinforce important soft skills- teamwork, discipline, leadership, focus, kindness. We are very happy to be a part of this group!
Megan Farrelly: MCMA North Ridge is a most cherished gift to the Raleigh community. Our son has thrived under MCMA’s guidance—not just as a student of TKD, but also in becoming a caring, conscientious, disciplined, and motivated young man. Thank you Master WK and Petra!
Michael Bray: My family is extremely grateful for Master Chang's! It's a great environment for children and family. Excellent staff and an unmatched experience!
Quynh Xayarath: Our son has LOVED attending tae kwon do here. I’m impressed at how their Tiger Tots program is run. The toddlers are focused and class time is spent learning new skills and practicing learned skills versus waiting around for everyone to focus and pay attention. The master works well with the kids and it’s a very welcoming environment that makes the kids feel safe to participate.
Nicole Feehely: Master Changs has been such a wonderful experience for our child. It helps with confidence and focus. Highly recommend!!
Mark Carlin: My two (2) children have been at this location since February. The entire staff shows incredible joy and positive energy each and every class. Master Wright really enjoys what he does and is awesome will all his students. Ms. Dalia has been great and resourceful anytime we had questions/or need assistance with anything.
Erika Larson: I can't say enough about how this experience has been life changing for my teen son. He went from being uninterested in most things outside of video games, to having a whole new drive to be successful with Taekwondo! He started in May 2022 and by July he was in the Black Belt Program working toward a series of goals.Master Chang's instructors teach not only TKD, but also Korean words, and values. Each week is a new value such as respect, patience, discipline, and they teach the students about it with kindness and compassion. The students are encouraged to share their thoughts on how to show these values as well.We have been so incredibly happy with our experience and look forward to many years with Master Chang's !
Michael Massey: Our son has been attending Master Chang’s TKD at North Ridge since he was 3 and he LOVES Master Y Kim, Ms. Petra and Master Seo (when she was at North Ridge). The level of care, nurturing and teaching is second to none. Our son wouldn’t be the confident child he is without their support and guidance. There is a true family atmosphere and we are honored to be a part of it. There is a focus on fundamentals rather than belt progression. Can’t recommend enough.
Jerluis Rodriguez: What isn't there to share about this wonderful environment of Martial Arts. It's a wonderful experience with great knowledge, education and discipline. My youngest is currently 4 and is in the tiger tots class. It's helped him develop multiple skills that he didn't have before now he will be joining his 6 year old brother who's in the black belt program with myself. So it's a amazing overall experience for you to be able to enjoy watching your children learn, help them find enter peace, mind, body and eye focus 😊My oldest son was failing kindergarten with lots of 2's in his report card and as time went on he managed to earn 3's and ended the year with almost all 3's it's a great overall experience even within the school district for kids.I am beyond proud to be one of the newest members to have had joined the class as a father figure and from there forward I've seen over 5 other parents enroll so please don't be shy this is meant for everyone not just the children.I overall have been out of shape for 12 years and am currently overweight. I decided that instead of enrolling in a gym membership that would be costly regardless that I'd take the chances and join my children's journey and do it together until we accomplish our goals 💪🏽 this isn't meant only for people who are physically fit this is also meant for the ones who are mentally capable of trying to better themselves. So please come join us give it a trial and I guarantee you that you will enjoy it.Please feel free to ask for JERLUIS if your shy and want assistance I will be more then happy to help.

Triangle Kung-Fu Arnis Academy: what do users think?
CARLOS SIRIAS: A perfect teams
Bobby Khot: I have been part of the school now for almost one year. The instruction and level of attention to detail is incredibly high. The physical exercise and variety of techniques makes the class instructive, insightful and enjoyable. Finally, the atmosphere, willingness to help the lower belts and comradery of all students enhances the experience. This is is a top-tier school with great leaders at the top and I would very strongly recommend it. I'm very glad I joined.
PATRICIA TOLLEY: Chris is an excellent teacher to the class tonight. He is thorough and a person of great knowledge. The young people there ranged from 6 to a few yrs. Older. Triangle Kung Fu is an excellent class with Master David Ng as owner and teacher. Discipline and respect is taught and young and old alike will benefit.
Conner McClain: My wife and I have been attending for a few months now and we're hooked. The art is fun to learn and the community is very much like a loving family. Domo arigato gozaimasu!

Quest Martial Arts Raleigh: what do users think?
Joshua Robinson: Great school with amazing coaches! They are wonderful with all ages even young kids!
Jennifer McLoughlin: My son, Max, has been taking classes at the dojo for the past 7 months… we are so glad we chose Quest!Max was recently put in a situation that required him to use his training to keep himself safe. A kid 6 years older than him and 3x his size grabbed him arm and was aggressively trying to throw him in the pool. Max told the kid to stop and to let him go (twice). When he didn’t, Max elbowed him in the throat and backed away while the other kid was left gasping for breath. In class, they practice real life situations which prepared Max for the tough circumstances he recently found himself in. He was trained to try and de-escalate first and when that didn’t work, he had the skills he needed to protect himself.Sensei Bryan and Sensei Kaitlin, thank you for all you do!
Eric Davis: Great martial arts training! My grandkids love attending.
Heather Travar: Quick to respond, no contracts, understands the needs of the community and very entertaining in class with the little ones! Bryan Griffin knows how to handle all personality types - kids and adults. Are you shy? He'll bring you out of your shell. Is your kid super energetic? He'll help them harness that energy to use in a disciplined manner. The culture of the dojo is one of respect and community and his teaching is based on that foundation. I can't imagine you'll find a better dojo anywhere in the area.
Nyxandriel: The best dojo I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. My daughter comes here twice a week and we treasure every experience. It's not only a great place for martial arts but learning in general. Master Bryan & Ms. Kaitlin are fantastic teacher with a unique ability to keep everyone engaged and positive no matter the age.I highly encourage you to check this place out. To-Shin Do teaches you more than just martial arts and moves, but invaluable life lessons, self-esteem, value, respect, discipline, kindness and so much more in addition to real life applicable skills.
Ian Lopez: As a former practitioner of Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Hapkido, To Shin Do is a perfect martial art that incorporates several aspects of the aforementioned styles, plus as an added (huge) bonus, you get to learn how to fight using several Ninja weapons, including the Katana! As far as the Sensei, Bryan is a phenomenal instructor. He has a sense of humor that allows him to connect with the younger students and older (like me) alike. All four of my children ages 5-15, enjoy his classes.I highly recommend you come see Bryan for a trial.
Brian Haines: I’ve been studying at Quest Martial Arts Raleigh With Bryan Griffin for a little over 3 years. This part of my journey began when my daughter decided to attend a class. Having studied other styles off and on for years, I have a general idea of what is best for my daughter, Laurel, and observed her first class. Bryan’s easy going and humorous approach is impressive. Additionally, I really like what he is teaching, so much so I signed up as well. Laurel studied for about 2 years and went off to college a confident young lady. A sophomore now, she still maintains that moxie and surprises me constantly, and thinks this review is too long.To Shin Do works well for young people because it really helps them focus. For those of us who are a little more (ahem) advanced in our years, To Shin Do works because it doesn’t require a great deal of physical strength… Yeah, Bryan still working through that one ;-)This brings me to my next point, Bryan provides a great deal of patience with young and old(er). Classes are fun without complicated katas, just practical movement that even some of us more awkward individuals can grow into it. Come give it a try, you never know what you might discover about yourself, whatever your age.
him fr: Awesome really fun
Jennifer Schroeder: Positive:ValueBrian Griffin has had such a positive influence on our daughter. This dojo focuses on practical situations and self defense and not just positions and move sequences. Anyone who wants a perfect practical self defense training program should consider Quest.
Feda Bahhur: Positive:ProfessionalismMy son loves going to Quest. Mr. Bryan is super professional and patient with children. We highly recommend Quest.
Theresa Courage: For all ages! Fun and no-threatening place to learn self-defense. As an adult female student, I've appreciated the exercise plus the self-defense skills Bryan's taught me. He's an expert, but without arrogance.
CitadelArmyGuy: Our son is in the young kids "Mighty Dragons" classes. The Instructors are absolutely fantastic with engagement and instruction at that level, and the no-contract flat-price payment structure is excellent (compared to getting nickel-&-dimed for belt fees, testing fees, tournament fees, etc etc)
Reeba Lambert: We just had our daughter's 7th birthday party at Quest. When we came home, she said "in all my 7 years of birthday parties, this one was the BEST"! :) Mr Bryan and his staff made the event so much fun for the kids, and also taught them some wonderful listening and respect lessons. I look forward to signing my daughters up to take classes with him soon!
London Simone: Mr. Bryan is an awesome teacher my daughter really enjoyed the karate class. She learned so much in one day. We are definitely looking forward to going back to receive more lessons to become a black belt. I give Mr. Bryan five plus ⭐️stars keep up the good work !!!!😊👍🏽💪🏽🥋
Clare Matti: Bryan Griffin, the dojo's owner and chief instructor, is a gifted and talented martial artist. In addition, Bryan is a veteran and he and his wife, Amber, are loving and dedicated parents. The Griffins care about the progress their students make, whether it's a young child, a young adult, a parent, or an empty-nester. Unleash your potential at QMAR!
Amy Tiemann: I have trained with sensei Bryan Griffin since 2013, all the way from white belt to black belt and beyond. He is an outstanding martial artist and incredibly thoughtful and patient teacher. Quest Martial Arts Raleigh is a friendly, family-oriented dojo for people of all ages. Parents, do yourselves a favor and get off the sideline bench and train, too! We are grateful every day that our whole family trains together. Ninjutsu is a wonderful martial art, with a long Japanese lineage, and adaptations to be relevant to 21st century American life (we are not fighting wearing armor!), thanks to To-shin do ninjitsu founder Stephen K Hayes, who Bryan Griffin started his training with many years ago. Come try a class at Quest Martial Arts Raleigh and see for yourself.
Jennifer Whaley: Quest Martial Arts is absolutely wonderful!! Our son has loved every moment since he started 1.5 years ago. The owner and instructor, Bryan Griffin is professional, courteous, and truly cares for the kids he teaches. Our son has learned so much about discipline, respect, and motivation and he wouldn’t have without the dedication of Bryan. I would recommend Quest to anyone looking for a karate school.
Laura Harris: Just had my son’s 5th birthday party here with 15 friends ages 3-8 and it was awesome. Bryan is amazing! Best birthday party I’ve ever hosted or been to. If you have a kid birthday party in your future, book this place! They all had so much fun! Not sure where Bryan has been hiding these last few years, but we may have to make this a birthday tradition. I have no affiliation with this place at all and was a total random stranger when we booked this party. So lucky!
Ann-Margaret Staley: Mr Bryan is fantastic. He’s well trained, humble and does a fantastic job with mixed classes of kids and adults alike. He works with both physical benchmarks and personal goals. He offers a flexible schedule & additional specialty classes as well as kids night out events. We couldn’t be happier to have found this dojo for our son.
Beth Tyler: Mr. Griffin is awesome with my 5 year old son. My son LOVES the Mighty Dragon program. Each session is new and exciting for my son. It keeps him engaged and wanting to learn more. They do obstacle courses, throw ninja stars, practice self control, learn self confidence, and so much more. Each lesson I am excited to watch him learn. My son is learning respect and self control among so many other things. It is obvious that Mr. Griffin cares deeply about each student and family. I highly recommend Quest Martial Arts with Mr. Griffin. We wouldn't train anywhere else.
Brian Davis: Great place great people. My high energy 7 yr old loves it.

Sun Yi's Academy Tae Kwon DO: what do users think?
Firstofname Lastofname: Boring classes, lackluster training, and black belts with poor technique. Master Berger is prone to rambling ideology instead of teaching… clearly operated in a bubble for too long. Take your time and energy somewhere else if you want to be good at Taekwondo.
Athene Noctua: My family has been a part of the Sun Yi's Tae Kwon Do family for years now. I have taken breaks in the past, but I always come back. The people have never been anything but friendly and welcoming to me.The instructors have always been amazing. They are masters at what they do and are skilled at teaching. The classes are well structured and quite a work out! I would recommend Sun Yi's Academy to anyone who's interested.
H Collier: Masters who care about their students and respect Taekwondo as an art make this school a top pick for those wanting a disciplined and grounded martial arts education at a very affordable rate.
Jason Elkins: Master Berger is a top notch instructor!
